Hello guys,

I got admitted to Fleming College to study Project Management (1Yr or 8months) and to Seneca College (2yrs) to study Business Marketing.
Both courses are because I am working as a Product Manager in Marketing.
I want to know if after paying the tuition deposit for Seneca for 1st semester, the POF should show for 2years living expense and 3 semester balance. Am I correct?

Edinburgh is in Scotland, you shouldn't need a transit visa

Hello House,

Do I need a schengen airport visa for a 5hr layover at Edinburgh via Ethiopian airline?
I've been unable to get any information about this from the airline.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by MsLane: 8:54am On Jul 22, 2022
Good Morning.
I just got a change of job function at work. I used to be in between HR and Customer Service. But I now work in Marketing. This is my dream job and I have 2 certificates in Marketing. My job function is barely a month. I have always wanted to be in Marketing. I have a Bsc and 14year study gap. I can pay 50% tuition fees for a PGD but I cannot afford the rest of living expense and with paying the tuition deposit, I'm gonna be broke lol.
I was going to use an Mpower school but I don't want to write GMAT and most of them are so competitive. My friend stays in Hamilton and I have been looking at https://www.mohawkcollege.ca/programs/business/business-marketing-319. Challenge is this is a College Diploma not Post Graduate Diploma. Does it matter?
Or do I just go ahead and prepare for GMAT and do an MBA?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by MsLane: 9:12pm On Jun 13, 2022
I am encouraged.

Jeff5gold:
I miss those days of coming here to ask and answer questions regarding Canada student visa. It’s almost a year since I arrived in Canada and what I have achieved, I don’t know if I will be able to achieve it in Nigeria in the next 5 years. I was lucky to get a job at Coca-Cola which I receive $20.3 per hour. I have successfully paid my fees of 8k for September term and looking forward to pay January fees before the end of August.
Why I’m sharing this is because, I want you all to put more effort in your journey to Canada if being on a student visa can change my life in less than a year with all the regulations associated with student visa, imagine if it was a work permit.
Disregard those who discouraged people about the cold …that same cold I walk on it to work.

Text me when you arrive in Canada. I want to see your smile grin grin

Thank you for your response.
The role as a Team Manager includes all these except the sales. So I manage team members and it includes HR responsibilities, Critical Thinking, Ideation and Change Management; it is a role in the Customer Care Division in my company. I have a strong CGPA (4.02, 2:1)

So is it safe to go ahead with an MBA. I wish I had a more specialized field like the rest of you all do.

.
ShowYoung:
You should stick to one job especially the most recent so we can advise you on what to go for because HR, Customer Care Service and Sales/Marketing are not the same.

Whether to go for masters is dependent on your grade in your first degree. If you have 2:1, it may be easy to secure admission into MBA, MSc etc. If you have 2:2, it may be difficult to gain an admission into a masters direct, although it's not impossible: in this case, PGD/PGC/PostBaccDip is your best bet.

Good Morning House.
Can someone please suggest a good pgd program for a first degree in Mass Communication. I have experience in HR (360 from Recruitment to On-boarding to Training and Performance Mgt) I also have experience in Sales and Marketing (Brand Communication and Retail Sales). I also have been a Team Manager in Customer Care for 6 years.
I will really appreciate your response. Although it looks to me like an MBA will be ideal.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by MsLane: 3:09pm On Jun 11, 2022
Please advise.
Since I can't fund my study or depend on my family for money, I want to go to a Uni that Mpower or Prodigy works with.
But all the Universities are requesting for GMAT or GRE and the fees are very high.
I have a 15year study gap and I am in a leadership position at work hence an MBA program.
I just need any sort of advise.
Are there colleges that have loan companies working with them or do i go ahead and write GRE or GMAT. University of New Brunswick offered to waive GMAT for me but they aren't on the list and $30,000CAD is not beans.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by MsLane: 7:58am On May 20, 2022
Good Morning All.
I need help in deciding what to do.
I have a 15Y study gap. Graduated in 2006; but I have been working since I finished my NYSC in 2008; total of 14 years. I am 36YO. I want to apply to study in Canada; I tried doing an MSc but it is expensive and most of the schools I have seen are requesting for GRE or GMAT.
I read through Centennial College and Humber College's Entry Requirements and can't see Academic IELTS. Is this correct?
I am also looking at New Brunswick Community College.
Is it advisable to go for a PG Certificate or an outright Msc because of the Study Gap and Experience?
I do not want to pay $75CAD twice.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 7 by MsLane: 12:07pm On Feb 03, 2022
This. I have my Academic IELTS that's 5YO; i hope this suffices

I wasn't asked for WAEC anything.
Change of name and Professional Ref.

philip2014:
Either of the following should solve the issue

1. Get a statement from your school that English is the language of study of your degree.
2. Do ielts
3. Get alternative English test e.g naric.

I also had c6 in my waec but I attached 3years old ielts result of 7.0 overall band

Serious advice needed for these 2 questions/

I have my Spouse's brother as PR holder in Manitoba. He does not reside there. But has his PR.
Can i claim points with it for MPNP?
This question: A close relative, who is a permanent resident or Citizen of Canada, is an established resident of Manitoba and has been residing in Manitoba for at least 1 year?

And this question seems confusing: Do you or your spouse have a close relative that is a permanent resident or Canadian Citizen and currently resides in another Canadian Province or Territory? My husband's brother in law actually lives in Manitoba.

Bonjour.

I am just creating my profile.

How do i check this 67 score for eligibility?

GraciousWords:
Great...make sure your eligibility is still at 67 before you edit your profile.

If you decide to go ahead and wait in the pool for OINP at 461 then your outlook is that all programs draws are unlikely to start before the next OINP French Speakers Draw. Last OINP FS was in Oct. Just saying, so you know it's a calculated risk.... smiley

Good Morning Everyone.

Kindly advise me.

I do not have funds for an MSc path to Canada because everything i have read about POF for Canadian Schools seem a lot.

I have a few friends who have gone ahead to secure admissions and paid their fees whilst working in the UK for their MSc.

Based on progression pathways, which should i consider seeing as the UK, i can pay a semester fee and only POF for 28 days or try Canada but being an employed prospective student, should my POF be higher.

I am just confused as i want to leave the country this year.

Check that the job being used for NOC has the required years of work.

Hi Friends, Happy new year everyone. Please I need your assistance. I’ve tried to help a friend submit her application and twice both application says she’s ineligible, based on the CRS calculation tool, she does meet the requirements and from my experience with this process, I strongly believe there’s an issue somewhere. Please has anyone encountered this issue recently?

Hello All,

My husband's profile was just cancelled today with the message :We regret to inform you that you are no longer eligible to be in the pool. Check your messages below for details.

His scores are absent on the profile as against how they were yesterday night cos we have been waiting for Nova Scotia.

Any idea what might have gone wrong and how do we rectify it.

Who knows if i can evaluate my Professional Certificate from CIM UK to improve it to 2 degrees in combination with my Bsc?
Its just a professional certificate but takes a year to complete.
