Family / Re: When Your Family Rejects Your Choice Of Partner by MsLurker(f): 7:26pm On Oct 24, 2008
Well, if her bro saw it. Maybe she needs to take that somewhat into account.

@Hugger, who are these women you speak of?
Family / Re: When Your Family Rejects Your Choice Of Partner by MsLurker(f): 4:04pm On Oct 24, 2008
If you are a parent and has invested much of your life in your child, would you be happy to see her get married to someone with the above mentioned qualities ?(i.e if they are true).

Please if your parents or siblings object to your choice of marriage, please, please I beg you, take a pause and rethink, they may not be right but at least think about it.

So what if his job exposes him to women, it's how HE handles it. Goodness,

How many men in history have been able to 'handle' the exposure to women?

The thing is right now this is just hearsay. Who knows if this dude is doing this or not. If he is and the chick sees past that, then it's on her but maybe her family is drumming up controversy just to get them to separate. It's not like it's unheard of.

Is this true? Or are they saying stuff to make noise.

It shouldn't matter if he's a graduate, you can still make good money, legally. Just because you have a degree doesn't mean you are going to be rolling in it.

Clubbing is not bad as long as he handles himself correctly.

So what if his job exposes him to women, it's how HE handles it. Goodness,
Family / Re: I Need Help! I Am Dying In Silence & Frustration by MsLurker(f): 3:43pm On Oct 15, 2008
You need to tell everyone the truth. You are causing nothing but damage.

And next time, be true to you from the on set, if you don't want to do something, then don't do it.
Romance / Re: What Annoys Girls Most by MsLurker(f): 2:57pm On Mar 24, 2008
I haven't even attempted to figure it out. It's still too early for me!!! grin

I agree about the indecisiveness thing, though.

If you are direct even if its something I don't like it at least there is no wiggle room The constant back and forth annoys me more than anything!
Romance / Re: What If Your People Does Not Support Who You Want To Marry. by MsLurker(f): 2:27pm On Mar 24, 2008
My answer still stands.

If he can't show his family that she is a wonderful girl then he needs to MAN UP and tell her the truth.

Don't waste the girls time no longer if he can't follow through.

I say life is short. Go for someone you love and who truly loves you because that is rare.

If he really loves her. Marry her.
If he can't go against his family and village then he needs to man up and tell her the real deal. Don't BS her, be honest about what the problem is.

But if he really loves her, I would say be with her.
Romance / Re: Black Romance Is Boring by MsLurker(f): 8:34am On Mar 23, 2008
I love that movie too! All around, excellent film!
Romance / Re: Black Romance Is Boring by MsLurker(f): 7:11pm On Mar 22, 2008
I am telling the truth. I love it short. I can't even pull on it right now, it's that short. Love it. I work out a lot so having my hair this way does wonders for me. When my hair was relaxed and long, it sucked so much after one of my workout sessions!

4 Play:

Clipper? You are too kind. . . . I will shave it with a broken bottle. When I'm done,I will rub some vaseline on it. . . . .her head will be shining!

That sounds very traumatic, doncha think? wink
Romance / Re: Black Romance Is Boring by MsLurker(f): 7:01pm On Mar 22, 2008
What's the deal about head shaving?

I shaved mine last fall, which shocked my friends since they thought that I'm like most girls and have to have hair.

But I'm digging my short, natural do. Less hassle in my opinion. grin
Romance / Re: Move On Or What? / Is It Better To Love Or To Be Loved? by MsLurker(f): 7:00pm On Mar 22, 2008
It's not worth the drama.

It's hard letting go of someone that you love but it will only cause more issues in the long run. I know from experience.

I love Portuguese! Sexiest language ever!
Oh, I liked it when my ex spoke Twi. embarassed
Romance / Re: Black Romance Is Boring by MsLurker(f): 6:31pm On Mar 22, 2008
Most black romance movies are just full of stereotypes in my opinion. Then someone gives some type of romantic speech about how someone did them wrong but they found the one person who stuck by them. Everyone sighs and cries in the audience. The end.

It is the same plot over and over again.
Romance / Re: erased! by MsLurker(f): 3:22pm On Mar 21, 2008
If I wanted someone else other than the person I was with, I'd leave the relationship.
I believe in karma and I don't need that in my life.
Also, I would do that because if the shoe was on the other foot, I'd hope they would extend me the same courtesy.
Romance / Re: Is It Girl's Nature? by MsLurker(f): 3:15pm On Mar 21, 2008
I'd have to agree with the ladies.

Some girls may be like it but its not the norm.

Especially if the love him.
Romance / Re: Why Would A Man Leave His Woman After A Long Relationship? by MsLurker(f): 4:12pm On Mar 20, 2008
davidylan:

xcape's analysis is spot on correct.
Most girls fail to read the signs that all is not well (is this a problem of perception?) so they cling unto the relationship making it so hard for the guy to just walk out. So the guy holds on, thinking maybe things will get better until he finds out it will not. most often he's met another girl who has many of the qualities he thinks are lacking in his present girl and he's wondering what he's still doing holding on.

From experience, it can be traumatic to the guy too breaking up with someone he's known for a long time. but somethings just have to be done no matter how painful the might seem.

Girls are highly emotional creatures, they fail to realistically approach issues of romance, they have this romantic notion in their heads and forget there are real issues like money, kids, jobs, lifestyles, atitude, involved in making a relationship work.

Old topic, I know.
I think guys want to fall on this "women are too much emotional" bandwagon.
The longer you wait, the more it hurts.
So why don't you just make your decision, stick to it because if you already know the end result, why prolong it?

I can get emotional, yes. But I'm also a straight shooter. I don't see the point of someone being with me when they don't want it because I wouldn't stay with someone I wasn't feeling.
Dating And Meet-up Zone / Re: Why No Photos On Profiles? by MsLurker(f): 3:53pm On Mar 20, 2008
I really wouldn't think a lot of people would get annoyed at not seeing someones picture. wink
TV/Movies / Re: Atonement: What Will You Do? by MsLurker(f): 3:48pm On Mar 20, 2008
I am not sure.
I would try to keep repeating that he is family and I only have one brother.
So, eventually I'm sure I will.

Or I would try my hardest to do it.

I love that movie.
Romance / Re: Wat Is Expected Violence Or Maturity by MsLurker(f): 3:42pm On Mar 20, 2008
No guy is ever worth jail time.
Hell, no person is.
And I wouldn't fight the girl. If she tries to fight me, I'd just laugh.
Not worth the drama or headache.
Especially if dude is cheating on me.
Romance / Re: What Would Make You Cry For Your Lover? by MsLurker(f): 3:26pm On Mar 20, 2008
Well, if I really love and you hurt me, I cry, at first.

Then I gradually get colder.
Romance / Re: First Love?how Strong Can First Love Be? by MsLurker(f): 3:16pm On Mar 20, 2008
I wonder why that is.

Mine was powerful while I was in it. But going back to it? Not really sure.
Romance / Re: Black Romance Is Boring by MsLurker(f): 3:14pm On Mar 20, 2008
One white romance movie I do like is The Notebook. I tried not too, I really did, but it's good.

After that, I don't think there are any. I don't even like Gone With The Wind.
Romance / Re: First Love?how Strong Can First Love Be? by MsLurker(f): 1:44am On Mar 20, 2008
No.
Romance / Re: Black Romance Is Boring by MsLurker(f): 8:54pm On Mar 19, 2008
Yes, that God forsaken movie. I have yet to finish it.
The closest I came to watching Love & Basketball was landing on it briefly while flipping cable channels.

I know, he didn't look excited to be in that movie at all. I wasn't excited for him either.

I used to like Titanic in high school, stress, HIGH SCHOOL.

Now, I can't remember last time I saw that long, drawn out movie.

Never saw Brown Sugar. Two Can Play At the Game. Anything with Vivica Fox (outside of Kill Bill and Independence Day). I'm sure there is more.
