what are you doing with the passport of countries I will like to die for, when your country is so fatastic. Whether you accept the reality or not Nigeria is a shame among the comity of nations. You are telling me you are carrying passports. Which countries have you visited and I will tell you the ones I have been to. ode

Your distorted brain did not tell you some individuals got citizenship by birth while your likes had to wipe wrinkled bum bum for many years to get one.

Nigeria is also my country and I will wear it like a badge. Keep living like a beggar in a country that can even strip you off whatever is intoxicating you.

You are asking me which countries I have traveled to; A question coming from someone that saw inside of a plane at his adult life grin grin.

Don't get carried away - any little comfort, you start talking trash to Nigeria. The country is surely cursing you back.

Keep living a miserable life in a white man's land.

what is the joy of a country who cannot provide her citizens with stable electricity, some areas don't even have light. Can't provide water except you dig your own borehole, dilapidated roads, security worst, no good health system and that is why Buhari half of his tenure running to London for medical care and now Tinubu has started, any small illness, he run to France. Nigeria system is not working whether you like it or not. By the time the reality is done on you, you will know how far

What is the joy of a country that provides all at cut-throat costs which eventually makes life of her citizen miserable?

Every country with its own challenge.

You are not talking to a JJC here - that passport you are running after, I have 2 of them in countries you will want to die for.

Nigerians can travel to anywhere for months without the fear of any mounting bills. Can you travel to any country for 2 months? The fear of mounting bills awaiting you at home can never allow you.

I have seen it all. I have seen the futility in what you consider as a big deal. Take a stock of your life in the next ten years, then you will know it is just a mirage.

It's just my opinion. The coups in those Francophone states are due to their internal issues with corruption and French meddling in their economic. We don't same issues issues or internal weakness to foster a coup. The monkey see monkey do reasoning just didn't make sense to me and others for why there would be further coups here or anywhere else amongst ecowas counties.

Oh ok.

Thanks

Properties / Is Polystrene Parapet Durable? by MT: 1:28pm On Mar 13
Please I am at a stage where intend to roof my house.

I do not want to put too much load on my building, so I have knocked out that parapet with cement and iron.

However, someone suggested polystrene parapet and I am not sure if it lasts longer or a good alternative to that cement parapet.

I will like to know the cost too

Any advice is welcome as well.

Thanks

See how they are wasting our money.

Cant they hold the workshop in Nigeria?

Same way CBN staffs that got promoted held a workshop in Vietnam last year.

Vietnam!! out of all the countries.

Is it not cheaper to bring the facilitators into Nigeria ?

And shockingly they are not serious with the workshop. Most of them dont even attend the workshop but busy shopping in London.

All these waste need to stop!

That is a lie, why are they saying that at 1600 naira is undervalued?

The NGN 1600 I quoted was a guess.

It could be NGN 1000, NGN 1200 etc

The fact is that NGN 750 which you referred to was not the true worth of naira to a dollar as at then.

The Nigeria Govt was defending it at that time.

Did you just say great job ? From 750 a dollar to 1,600 naira. Keep playing. grin

You got it wrong

When you felt Naira value to a dollar was 750, it was actually 1600.

The government was paying the differential (defending the naira) then for every dollar being sold.

Not everyone is desperate about travelling.

Not everyone will abandon, for instance, a software engineering job in banks in Nigeria, to be wiping wrinkled, old butt in the UK, all in the name of travelling abroad.

Most corporate guys on top of their game in Nigeria travel abroad on vacation while balling big in Nigeria.

I suppose your network in Nigeria does not include those individuals, so you are unaware of them.

You are the one who is very funny my guy

I am here in the UK and doing very fine, I know the system inside out. I can't count how many people me and my friends have recently had to help. Japa people who have found themselves broke, some not even able to eat. The other day we had to go and give one lady pots and plates as her house was totally empty and she could not afford anything.
Its people like you that sadly give many Nigerians a false picture of the UK. If you read my post again, I never said the UK is not better than Nigeria, or that some people can't make it here. What I said very clearly is that the UK is NOT FOR EVERYONE. If you do not have in-demand skills you will find it very very difficult to have a sataisfying life here. That is just a fact

My brother, they will never understand the bolded.

Same reason why some people sold all their properties, thinking being wealthy is automatic once you land in a white man's land

Today they are miserable and depressed.

Let them come over to experience it firsthand.

what is the percentage of those people working in the multinational companies compare to million suffering in the country. No stable electricity and other social amenities that are suppose to be provided by the government

The world has reached a stage where the quality of your skillset will determine your quality of life.

So, the number you asked for is as good as many who are determined to upskill genuinely.

How many people in the UK are living beyond the poverty threshold. Just few in the corporate world.

Most Nigerians are living below the poverty threshold in the UK, hence the reason they cannot even afford to go on holiday, sigh seeing, eat out in a decent restaurant, shop in the high street etc. Their daily routine is home to work to church or mosque , then back home.

Most Nigerians living in the UK are poor by UK standard.

Yes no stable electricity in Nigeria which is bad but in the UK where electricity is stable, you guys end up complaining of higher bills. I have seen many houses in the UK that are off the national grid and fully dependent on solar. I have seen individuals who sleep in darkness in the UK because he could not pay for electricity bills.

As bad as Nigeria appears to be, there are some people abroad who will beg to trade places with some individuals in Nigeria.

Apple and Mango are fruits but starkly different.

Some dudes are balling comfortably in Nigeria working in banks as Software Engineer, Oil and Gas Staffers, CBN staff etc.

Some will never live anywhere abroad because they are working remotely for companies from Nigeria - which i call the "perfect" world.

UK is planning to cut interest rate to help her citizens in time like this but Nigeria is increasing interest rate, can you see the difference

How does cutting interest rate helps the citizen?

The govt is simply discouraging people from saving money in their bank accounts, and encouraging them to spend it or put it in business in order to stimulate the recessed economy

It's far better to be unemployed in UK than being employed in Nigeria

Never say this.

If you are without job for 2 months in the UK, you will be out in the cold.

The rate at which your money will be depleted when you dont have a job is alarming.

Something must always pursue you in the UK - bills etc - this explains why people easily slip into depression.

You wont understand till you experience it firsthand.

In Nigeria, you can still squat with friends and families, the likelihood of that in the UK is remote.

Nigeria is more communal than UK.

People do very well. Getting certifications from their desired skills and doing online courses. Once they get ILR, they move to the sector. Even if to start again. They can still do care by the side though. Since they are no more tied to any COS. but i know someone who loves d care job. As in that is what she wants to do. She even wants to open a care home when she comes back to nigeria to settle. Her passion is taking care of the old before they pass on and ensuring they are happy in their last days.

On paper, people can change jobs after ILR, in reality it is tough.

How can someone working 12-hour shift be able to prepare for another career. Someone that has immersed himself in care job for 5 years, its not as easy as you think .

Moreso, getting ILR is not automatic having spent 5 years in the UK. Some people have applied for a visitors visa with different information from what they use to get COS. Uk didn't do due diligence then but trust me, when it comes to ILR, they will seriously vet the application.

Yes correct. Only carers and support workers on code 6145 and 6146 are affected. This is because it is d main job people do to get COS without any special qualifications (just show u can care for people). It is d easiest route for masters graduates to get COS before they settle on the profession of their choice ( after completing the COS period).

Once you are stuck for 5 years on a job, it has become your career.

You wont have time to pursue any other things.

Care work is intense, draining and frustrating with 12-hour shift.

Changing career will be almost mission impossible after 5 years

Even those students who change to care visas, they are saying their dependents ( spouse and kids) should go back to their countries because the new care visa does not cover their dependents . Not just the new arrivals. They want to start deporting people who legally entered last year as dependents. Those are the 120,000 he is talking about. If the dependents want to stay, they should also go and look for sponsorship.

No.

It doesn't affect people that are already in the system.

Those that are already in the system can still bring in their dependants.

For those out there and they sold off their properties to go, pls, just start investing in assets back home now that the currency you earn is very strong against the naira, any policy can affect your income tomorrow.

At the bolded, how can they save when the salaries are majorly low and bills high, saving is nearly impossible.

If you calculate the effort to make one pound sterling. you will understand it is blood and sweat.

And sadly the price of those properties in Nigeria has gone up and not within reach.

The bolded is a big lie.

Come and see medical doctors driving uber abroad. Come and see doctorate holders doing security guards for stores.

The only way to live a comfortable life is being well skilled in a much sought-after career.

I remember a friend that studied computer science (Bsc in Nigeria) and Software Engineering (Msc, UK). Like almost 90% of Nigerians abroad school (trust me I was not exageratting), they usually pay someone to do their school assignment for them while they go out to work and work in order to make money to pay bills and tuition fee.

After graduation, he applied for a Software Developer job. He was invited for an interview. He was made to solve a problem on a computer. They even told him he could google and he was not limited by time. The guy looked at the problem, he had no clue, he used the other exit to go out. I bet those guys would think he raptured by the time they got back to where he was and he wasnt no more there.

They do not care about your certificates but what you can offer. So you need to be a thoroughbred professional to really ball comfortably over there.
