Please patiently read and share. This may help a soul searching for the truth. ON TITHE... We need to first understand that there are three dispensation in the Bible. 1. Patriarchal dispensation(from creation to mount Sinai) 2. Mosaical dispensation (from mount Sinai to the cross) 3. Christian dispensation. (from the cross till Jesus Returns) God dealt with people differently in these Dispensations. In Patriarchal dispensation, God dealt directly with the fathers. As heads of the family, fathers are responsible to lead their family before God and communicate God's will to their families. Abraham lived in this period. And during this period, there was no law for tithing. But Abraham paid tithe to Melchizedeck. Genesis 14 verse 20. Jacob also, while escaping from Esau, promised to give God a tithe of all that God blessed him with. Genesis 39. So these are the two occasions where tithe were mentioned before the Mosaic dispensation. ***One thing we must note however is that God does not transfer a particular practice from one dispensation without outrightly commanding it.*** During the Mosaic period, The children of Israel became a Nation because God gave them a law which became a covenant between him and them. This covenant is strictly between Israel as a nation and God. Deuteronomy 5 verse 3 and 4. This covenant also contain the law of tithe, the law of Sabbath, etcetera. When you read through the book of Leviticus through Deuteronomy, you will see the different types of tithe and conditions given for paying tithe. The main reason, you will discover that God commanded tithe payment for the Israelites is because the Levites were not given a physical land to inherit, {it was also meant to feed the poor (Orphans and widows)}. And they, the Levites were the only ones under the Mosaical dispensation who had the right to receive tithes from the others. So, God made it a law for the rest of the Israelites to pay tithes. You will also notice that tithe which is 10% was not the only type of giving the Israelites made. There were other types of freewill offerings, different types of tithes were also commanded. Because the Israelites were failing in keeping this tithe law, was why God said in Malachi 3 verse 8 through 10 that they were robbing Him. Now let's fast forward to the New Testament, the Christian dispensation. Unlike the Mosaical dispensation which is directed strictly to the Israelites, the New covenant establishes relationship between God and the entire world. And it is the last covenant God is making with mankind. Remember, God does not carry over a practice from one dispensation to another unless He specifically (whether by direct instruction, by inference and by examples) commands it. Jesus is the author of the New Testament Matthew 26 verse 26 through 30. The Bible is the record of all that Jesus both taught and did. Acts 1 verse 1 and 2. Although Jesus was born under the law Galatians 4 verse 4, There was no record that Jesus paid, accepted or instructed that tithe should be paid. Now while Jesus was ascending to heaven, He told His Apostles that they should teach whatever He has commanded. But you will not find a passage of the New Testament where the Apostles paid, taught or instructed that tithe should be paid. Instead, you will see that they instructed free will offering. 1Corinthians 16 verse 1 and 2, 2 Corinthians 9 verse 6 to 9. Acts 20 verse 35. Even Jesus taught freewill giving in Luke 6 verse 36. Why did Jesus and the Apostles not accept or pay tithes? The answer is simple. Tithes was the prerogatives of the Levites, Jesus was not a levite! He was a descendant of Judah Matthew 1:1-18. And, now, we are no longer under the Levitical Priesthood. The law has changed. Hebrews chapter 7 through chapter 10. And under this New Testament or covenant, every true believer has been made a PRIEST. (1 Peter 2 verse 9 and Revelations 1 verse 5 and 6). There are no special group of people to receive tithes under the Christian dispensation. So to pay to any pastor or for any pastor to receive tithes, in the name of keeping God's command, is actually a sin. That is because God has not commanded tithe to be paid in the Christian dispensation. So, my brothers and sisters and friends, please, you may think you are doing the right thing by paying tithes or even receiving it, but you are actually in the wrong. But do not take my words for it, search honestly the scriptures for yourself. God bless you Tiwalade Richard (Evangelist-in-training) |
The last I checked, being a Pastor is never and will never be a PROFESSION! Doctors, Journalists, etc are holding professional position by way of some academic or educational qualifications! So this statement by Pastor Suleman is a big disaster, honestly! This is not the response I have been waiting for. I am convinced, and since I was born, I have never paid tithe before, and I am not doing badly. All I do is give/offer according to how am blessed, and most usually more than just 10% of what I earn or make, and as proposed in my heart (just as the bible commands). From my findings, Tithe was an exercise that was carried under compulsion. It was a command and must be obeyed by the Children of Israel. On the other hand, Freewill giving/offering in Church services has never expected to be done out of compulsion or of necessity, because God loves a cheerful giver (II Cor. 9:7). This speaks to early Christians and so has to do with us, as we are no longer under the law (Rom. 6: 14). Romans 10:4 says: "Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.." If Christ is the end of the law, and Tithe was a law/command by God to people of Israel, then it means that His death on the Cross marked the end of all the laws, (Col. 2:14 - "Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances (the laws) that was against us (Christ's followers - Christians), which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross...", leaving behind LOVE which summarises the Laws in one Pack! "Love your neighbour as your love your self, and also, love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and all your mind" - Mark 12:30, SHIKENA! I expected all these Pastors to come all out and open their bibles in response (as Daddy Freeze requested), where in Scriptures 'CHRISTIANS' were commanded to pay Tithes or show us any necessary inference, Apostles' doctrine and/or Biblical examples of or by the early days Christianity. The bible messages/lessons is never to be as 'according-to-what-one-Pastor-teaches' but should be according to Christians' individual findings, just like the bereans. When the bereans were taught scriptures, they go back home and do their own findings to confirm how true those things were, but in today's world, some people just take it as the Pastor says, true or false, facts or self-centred or self-interest Sermons. I am still waiting for one of these Pastors to come out and in defence with scriptural backings. This may also help to prove to me that they are truly MEN OF GOD! |
OP, please continue... we are following closely. I am sure no reasonable student here will be tempted or drawn out of this place as it appears you have real value to offer us. Whether people appreciate free information or not, very many will prove that assertion wrong. I understand the marketing concept the program offers and would go even further transactionally. Most online marketers do not know how to build attention/audience first. Going after the money at first attempt isn't healthy for a long term business relationship, I must say. Please go on, we are following! Thank you. |
Amen and Amen |
MY OBJECTIVE VIEW! First and foremost, let me thank all contributors, especially the poster above me... you made a wonderful point (MANKAND). I took out time to study what that man (Sergey Mavrodi) meant by Spare Money, I also involved very many (participants and non-participants) in the debate about what "spare money" really means. I discovered "spare money" varies in context of whatever situation applied with. Spare money also varies depending on one's present financial status. You may be able to give up N5m to a beggar if you are very rich and DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH N5M at the moment! You may also be financially incapacitated to the point that N1000 is all you can let go in the hands of a beggar or even N10. Having said this, I want to add that if you can use your SPARE MONEY for a plot of land of N1m and another person has a spare of N300,000, you don't invest it in same kind of land base on location and other factors. In business, we are advised to invest SPARE MONEY, not ALL your savings or money! If you have N500,000, it is advised, do not put in all in business, as two things may happen. You may lose all the money no matter how lucrative the business seem to be, and you may make so much gains no matter how badly portrayed such business may have been. Either way, the eventuality may be unknown from onset. So invest wisely, and progress wisely too! I tried to pay attention to the already over-hyped MMM and got to know some things. You see, MMM is not far from the above, even though it is not actually intended for investment, but a donation hub. Very many people simply assumed 30% is an opportunity and had invested all their money into the scheme, therefore having their hearts in their mouth till they manage to wait 30days to eventually get their money back and then a heavy sigh! No! This is not what I understand from Mavrodi's context of spare money. He emphasized that if little money goes round, it makes everyone happy. Little-little money, even if it is N1000, if PHed to someone, and the person also does same, we have a community of happy people. He created an atmosphere that MMM is like an e-cooperative platform with advance touch. I understand MMM is not an investment scheme, and if you take it as an investment, you are failing already from the beginning. The problems with Nigerians is that VERY MANY DON'T READ or PAY ATTENTION TO DETAILS. MMM would have been best if their members/participants play by the rules; provide help of money that won't cause heart attack, money they can do without for a long time, or not expect to return, and if doesnt return, no heart attack! Do you know how our stock market got us into loosing investments? This is it. Some few rich ones invested so much and withdrew so much profits along with their investment. This wrecks the system and render the unfortunate little money investors a lose! There was mismanagement and inconsistency. I remember losing so much in Stock, but that's way gone! NO MATTER HOW GOOD A BUSINESS IS, SO MANY PEOPLE STILL LOSE IN SAME BUSINESS WHILE SOME GAIN MORE!. The difference in this two groups is TIME, OPPORTUNITY and INFORMATION. You can add yours... The banks will never give 30% ROI per year, less to speak of monthly returns of 30%, why? It is a business entity, and the bulks of profit derived from using our money goes into other investments and PACKAGING. You know what packaging does to businesses or a person, it builds trust around you. When you package finish ehn, everybody go think say you get money. But the banks makes so much and would only return less than 5% ROI to you for using your money to invest in other businesses! Worst of all, for every 1000 you have in the bank, you lose N12.00 at least. So what's the gain. Saving money in the bank is not really a lucrative investment, even if you do Fixed Deposit! If you must continue with the MMM community, ensure you use your head, read about its ideology well enough before participating. MMM, I learnt never take anyone's money, Nigerians pay themselves. Some one Provide Help, another is Getting Help, and next time the one is Getting Help while someone is Providing Help, and so it goes round! I have friends who started with as low as N1,000 last year and as at December, they counted their gains to the tune of millions. NB: This is my objective view about this community. I am, by this note, not encouraging participation, neither am I discouraging anyone from participating. However, if you must, simply understand the game of Multi Level Marketing well. If you do this, you do not even need to start MMM with your money. You can grow a team and use that to generate funds to do other things including further participating with the proceeds (spare, though). Send me a mail, if you want to understand more about how to build a lucrative business using the MLM-Mechanism, FOR FREE! Thank you. |
timilehin007:Don't give up. You will have to learn how it really work. It doesn't stop at mere reading JAGABAN's book. STUDY AFFILIATE MARKETING. Google and YouTube are your friends. Do not believe whoever says you won't spend money to learn. Education is forever more expensive than ignorance. But if you think otherwise, am sure u know what to do. TRY IGNORANCE. Those complaining about JAGABAN's book have forgotten that books don't do the magic. Action does. Books only grant you 20% success, 80% remaining lies in your hands to work out. JAGABAN, please next time, don't dare speak ill of MMM. It is not a business and there is a caveat. All participant participates at his or her own risk. THERE IS NO online business, I repeat, NO ONLINE BUSINESS HAS 100% SECURITY. Yet that is not a good reason for one to be better than the other. If you made it through affiliate marketing, I know of people who made it through MMM and may forever remain rich cos through MMM, they got investment capitals to invest in other or offline businesses. PRAY GOD LEAD YOU THROUGH YOUR OWN SUCCESS PATH. |

I don't know why I have a strong feeling this is a cooked story... I guess you are achieving your aim though! You see, in business, there is actually no guarantee you will make it if you dont invest wisely. How can you possibly invest all your money in ANY BUSINESS AT ALL! Before you do business, make sure you have a reserve, in case of necessity. Precautions are very important! Why invest ALL you have in any business? what if it crashes or stumble. remember the economy is unstable in the first place. Blaming your loss on the PONZI is not a guarantee that you are right! Even in ponzi, you invest only the gain and reserve the capital for good! The reserved may help in hop into a new business or save your ass for continuity, but definitely not all the reserve, just a proportion. you are here crying over a huge loss that happened as a result of your GREED AND LACK OF PROPER INVESTMENT CONSULTATION. By the way, I do PONZI and PYRAMID Schemes as well as AFFILIATE MARKETING, and I do them wisely. I invest only a little and recycle the PROFIT, not the entire gains. Thank you for exposing yourself! |

Even though I campaigned in support of PDP, my vote only went for senatorial and house of rep while the presidential vote, I made supports for PMB because of trust and the special level of his charisma. I took out time to study his past, dugged out what happened and what never happened, and in doing so, I didn't fail to remember that I am a Nigerian and the Nigeria that I know needed a change of hand not a 'nice' man. If PMB goes second, I will support PMB! I love his kind of person. The right hand for this kind of country. |
Welcomed development |
