minfelix: one thing i know is Ghana long win over super eagles has ended since last year friendly we beat them 2-1 without osimhen….they have been tormenting us since 2007 just the same way cameroon tormented us from the 1980’s to 2000…since then till date we began hammering them Nig 3-0 Cameroon (LG cup) Nig 2-1 Cam (2004 afcon) Nig 3-0 Cam (2015 friendly) Nig 4-0 Cam (2017 wcq) Nig 3-2 Cam (2019 Afcon) Nig 2-0 Cam (2024 Afcon)
that draw against Zim was a huge disappointment to me….i wish we can go to the world cup ajeh I'm yet to recover from the defeat of the draw against Zimbabwe. The pain just blunt my spirit. |

What is baffling to me is someone like Wizkid, why he is so far rated that other older artistes like 2baba that came before him,all he sings is about sex and girls, not even about love. My brother it beats me sha. Anyway they have put naija on the global map |

The heavy loss against Denmark no let person enjoy that tournament again till final. I enjoyed it oo. That semi final match between Brazil and Netherlands was epic. |

chrisooblog: Watch old clips of Brazil at the WC from 1958-1970 especially 1970 chai joy go nearly choke you from watching 'sexy penetrating passes' Even the misses were beauties to watch. I weep for Brazilian fans having to cope watching modern day scam artists. Brazilian football represents what football should be. There were the best. Ironically that's why I never liked them as a team. They forgot who they were and one can hardly recognize that distinct samba rhythm in their football. It's gone. I pray they find that spark. Machine football should not win. |

chrisooblog: Bergkamp the football brain on that man. Blessed with one of the best touches of all time. Between him and Zidane I really can't tell who's got a better first touch. That goal against Argentina was all about his incredible first touch. I often say that if I'm a coach teaching young boys, dem go practice their first touch tire to the point they will hate me. |

semid4lyfe: If you mean the Tottenham coach you're right. That's the reason they have high scoring wins and losses.
That's how the brazilian teams of old played and blew off all their opponents with wide margins.
It took a defeat to a defensively solid Italy led by Paolo Rossi in Espana 82 for Brazil to drop their all-attack philosophy for a more pragmatic playing style. That match against Italy - with Zico and Dr Socrates in full, free flow and the defeat is tagged the day football died. I like beautiful football but I've never been a fan of Brazil. I like their players individually though. |

charlesemeka85: Watching Zizou’s documentary on YouTube and the narrator brought up the point of the French maestro not having the best of Stats when compared to some midfielders in his era and now but finished it up with
“ you won’t know how good zidane was through stats until you watch him play live with your eyes”
The above statement gave me chills and one of the reasons why I don’t enjoy football anymore unlike years ago because of so much reliance on stats and robotic tactic 🤦♀️😔 I love old football. By the way Zidane ain't old football sef. |

Kanu had one simple skill I'd call the lazy roll. Watch this video and you'd see it. He did it against Brazil in the Olympics, did it by beating the goalie at the touch line to score that wicked third goal against Chelsea

CaptainStephen: We can't achieve much success if the whole unit isn't developing. Sports is all round, medical, structure, branding etc and most importantly psychological.
It has been obvious this key aspect of sports has been left out of our current national teams set up.
The current generation of National teams don't understand and believe what it takes to wear any national team shirt. They don't, it's starts from the first day you get an invitation.
I remember during my NDA days in Mogadishu battalion, Moga as they call us then never loose, we train twice as others and it is drummed into your body, mind and soul from day one when you get into the academy talk more about seeing your posting to Mogadishu battalion.
This was all we needed to fuel our body and determination and I doubt current national teams are structured this way. Black man lacks the ability for long term planning. Chop chop, that's what he's good at. |

TheGoodJoe: Kanu would have been perfect for today's modern game. He is what I categorize the deep lying striker. I always wondered what happened that Nigeria produced so many bright tactical players like Siasia, Oliseh, Kanu, Celestine Babayaro, Finidi George.
I remember reading that Segun Odegbami used Oliseh's highlight clip on his Super Eagles debut for years to carry out tactical training for players.
I wonder why it all disappeared. And this players had their formative years playing on the streets. Oliseh was too good. |

elyte89: He summarised Nigerian football administrative problem in less Dan 5minutes but unfortunately we re not known for long term solutions,na quick fix we b Sharp sharp. I don't see us getting it right anytime soon. It's the players that often suffer when we lose and the fans pile on them |

Goke7: We the fans and the media are not also interested in long term planning with our win at all cost mentality, no matter what we achieve we must find excuses to demonise coaches and players hence we keep chopping off coaches and players, listen to the video you posted na the dude complain about the way we mount pressure for players to be invited once we think they are good in Europe. How much do we care for the long term? We also retire some of our good legs too early which causes imbalance in the team. It’s a whole lot to consider here He touched on several key issues. I just keep wondering whether those at the helm don't see these things |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Mujtahida: 4:42pm On Apr 14, 2025 |
Goke7: Until we are humble enough to appreciate what is working and build on it nothing will change as you can’t build nothing on nothing. There are one or two positives from even this current coach that I never supported initially but we can start from there. But if we throw him out again we will continue to go backwards. Chelle is an attacking minded coach, why don’t we just start building right away! This is not about Chelle oo per se. It's about our football administration. My issue is that we lack the ability to plan and implement long term. See Morocco is now positioning itself to be a football powerhouse in Africa. It's not on the pitch. It's about policy. We don't have any. |

Tchinaidi: Just finished watching our afcon qualifiers against Libya a d I can tell you for free that Cerezo is by far a better coach than chelle. He understands the boys better and play them in their areas of strength. The super eagle teams plays the kind of football we are known under Cerezo.A lot of people will beg to differ because of our loss to rwanda. Our full squad weren't on display because we had already qualified.Cerezo was trying to experiment with the game.I bet you with cerezo as team coach we would have beaten zim with a better style of play.Chelle am afraid does not understand our style of play and may not get it right for along time to come. For playing Aina on the right, I don comot hand for Chelle back. I'm back to canvassing for my client elyte89 baba |
