Business / Cardify's Digital Business Card Unveiled At Moonshot By Techcabal by mukthar1994(m): 8:02pm On Nov 04, 2023
From the 11th to the 12th of October 2023, the prestigious Eko Convention Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos, was the vibrant setting for the Moonshot by TechCabal event. Moonshot, an exceptional tech conference, served as a unifying platform for Africa's tech ecosystem, investors, and tech enthusiasts, offering two days of networking, collaboration, knowledge exchange, and a celebration of innovation across the African continent.

Among the event's exhibitors, Cardify Africa took the spotlight. This cross-border utility payment startup is renowned for its virtual dollar card, wallet and bills solutions. At this remarkable gathering, Cardify Africa seized the opportunity to introduce Cardify Business, an offshoot of the startup dedicated to leveraging its solutions for businesses. The flagship feature of the Cardify Business suite was the Cardify Digital Business Card—an innovative tool enabling professionals to effortlessly share their information with others through a simple tap or scan.

The highlight of the event was the Cardify Digital Business Card, a game-changing innovation that promises to revolutionise the way Nigerian professionals network. Mr. Taiwo Idris, Cardify's Chief Marketing Officer, emphasised the value of this digital business card in simplifying the networking experience. He pointed out that rather than carrying around a stack of physical business cards that often get lost or become unwieldy, individuals can now adopt the more efficient and eco-friendly Cardify Digital Business Card.

These digital business cards come in three versatile materials—PVC, bamboo, and metal. Users can easily add and modify their contact details, social media links, and even customize links using the Cardify Business suite, accessible through Cardify's dedicated website for business cards at cardify.ng or via the Cardify Africa mobile app.

The most exciting aspect of the Cardify Digital Business Card is its adaptability. If there's ever a need to update your contact details or other information, there's no longer a requirement to print new cards. With Cardify Business, a simple login allows you to make real-time changes, ensuring that your updated details are immediately reflected when someone taps or scans your digital card. This not only streamlines the networking process but also aligns perfectly with the principles of sustainability and convenience in the digital age. The Cardify Digital Business Card is set to become an essential tool for professionals in Nigeria, offering a fresh and innovative approach to networking and information sharing. The digital business cards are expected to be available for purchase both online and in stores starting from November.

The event featured a remarkable lineup of speakers, including Nigeria's Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, Juliet Ehimuan of Google West Africa, and Oswald Osaretin Guobadia, the Managing Partner at DigitA, who also serves as the scribe for the Startup Act. The event addressed critical topics and showcased the future of tech in Nigeria and Africa.

Business / Cardify Africa sponsors first-Ever Ibadan Tech Expo with over 6,000 attendees by mukthar1994(m): 10:18am On Sep 13, 2023
Celebrating Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Community

The inaugural Ibadan Tech Expo, held on September 9, 2023, at the prestigious International Conference Centre in Ibadan, marked a resounding success with an astounding turnout of more than 6,000 enthusiastic attendees. This groundbreaking event, sponsored by Cardify Africa, not only showcased more than 50 innovative tech start-ups but also served as a testament to the thriving tech community in Ibadan.

Hon. Balogun Danjuma, the visionary Convener of Ibadan Tech Expo, welcomed the diverse crowd and shared his inspiring journey, underscored by overwhelming support from over 1,000 volunteers and an impressive sponsorship count of 72. He further outlined an ambitious 10-year plan, committing to nurturing local talent, fostering innovation, and positioning Ibadan as a burgeoning tech hub for tech communities in Nigeria.

Hon Danjuma, the convener of Ibadan Tech Expo speaking with Cardify Africa "To me, the Ibadan Tech Expo is more than an event; it's a transformative movement set to propel our city into the global tech spotlight. My team and I are committed to nurturing local talent and fostering innovation for a thriving tech ecosystem in Ibadan," Hon. Danjuma emphasized.

Seun Onigbinde; Director of BudgIT was the event's first keynote speaker. He inspired the audience with his insightful address. Onigbinde stressed the importance of disruptive innovation, shared his entrepreneurial journey with BudgIT, and urged attendees to aspire to global excellence in fintech, emphasizing that they can achieve it without leaving Ibadan. “You don’t need to leave Ibadan to think big or work at a global level. To succeed in tech, you must possess poise, intelligence, expertise, and soft skills. Take courses on management and leadership, push yourself out of your comfort zone, and build the smallest version of your idea that delivers value,” advised Onigbinde.

Akin Alabi, the second keynote speaker, delivered an engaging speech on "How to Sell Tech to Nigerians." He emphasized the distinction between having a tech job and owning a tech business, highlighting the need for tech to empower and enhance traditional business models. Alabi underscored the importance of solid business fundamentals over coding skills and the risks of relying solely on luck in entrepreneurship.

Tunde Buremo, the CEO of Cardify Africa and a distinguished panelist at the tech event, delivered a compelling talk titled "Navigating the Tech Ecosystem." He emphasized the notion that geographical location should not serve as a hindrance to innovation. Buremo went on to elucidate Cardify Africa's strategic positioning as a pioneer in facilitating cross-border utility payments within Nigeria and across the African continent.

Buremo clarified the startup's ambitious goal: to emerge as the ultimate destination for comprehensive multi-payment utility solutions across the African continent. He emphasized the innovative aspect of Cardify Africa's virtual cards, enabling users to fund them with both NGN and USDT. Furthermore, he stressed the convenience of their bill payment offering, designed to offer Nigerians a seamless platform for topping up balances, purchasing vouchers, and booking tickets directly from their digital wallets.
In closing, Buremo articulated Cardify's vision to simplify and streamline utility payments across Africa. He reiterated the startup's commitment to delivering seamless solutions in this domain.

Fostering Tech Entrepreneurship

In a statement, Mr Taiwo Idris, Cardify's Chief Marketing Officer, highlighted the company's firm commitment to nurturing tech entrepreneurship. This commitment extends to Oyo State, Nigeria, and beyond, emphasizing the Expo's potential to become a pivotal event. The event aims to foster an inclusive tech ecosystem that brings together diverse tech enthusiasts, professionals, and stakeholders. Together, their collective efforts aim to shape a brighter future for both the tech community and the entire nation.
In his closing remarks, Hon. Danjuma expressed gratitude to all who supported the event. This includes the executive governor of Oyo State, Eng. Seyi Makinde, the Oyo State Government, Cardify Africa, Google Developer Student Clubs, LARVA Academy, MTN, Patchpay, Sanwo.io, and esteemed media partners. These partners include the Nigerian Tribune, NewsExtra24, Jamz FM, Beat FM, and Naija FM, among others.

Business / How To Buy Things On Aliexpress From Nigeria - A Step-by-step Guide by mukthar1994(m): 1:06pm On Sep 02, 2023
AliExpress, a China-based B2B platform, offers a wide range of Chinese products to buyers worldwide. In this step-by-step guide, we'll show you how to make purchases on AliExpress from Nigeria, using the Cardify virtual Mastercard (funded with NGN or USDT), and share valuable hints for a successful shopping experience.

Basic Things to Do First
a. Download AliExpress Mobile App and Register: Begin by downloading the AliExpress mobile app and registering your account. Set your shipping address, but remember you can edit it at the checkout page if needed.
b. Change your currency to usd in the currency tab on the right hand corner as the conversion rate when in NGN can be deceptive. Search for Your Desired Item: Use the search box to type in your desired item.
c. Explore Search Results: Explore the search results, considering factors like price, sellers' ratings, feedback, and offers. Reading item descriptions thoroughly is crucial. Opt for sellers with ratings of 4.5 and above for a reliable experience.
d. Proceed to Payment: Once you've identified your chosen seller and item, proceed to payment. This often times is the biggest challenge with respect to shopping on Aliexpress from Nigeria, but with startups like Cardify Africa, it is becoming increasingly easier to pay with a virtual dollar card. Below is a step by step guide on the processes i went through.

Step 1

I started by downloading the Cardify Africa mobile app from the Play Store. After installation, i followed the registration process and verified my account to level 2. This verification level is necessary to create a virtual Mastercard, although level 1 verification still affords you the ability to do other things like paying bills with NGN and USDT on the system.

Step 2

Once my account got verified, i realised that i have the option to create and fund a Dollar Card with either the Naira wallet or Usd wallet on the system, as i have some USDT, i opted to fund my USD wallet by clicking on deposit and sending USDT to the generated wallet, the fund reflected in my USD wallet immediately i did that. I then proceeded to click cards and "Get New Virtual Card", over here i saw a list of options but chose my USDT wallet since that is the only wallet i have funded, note: of you have funded your NGN wallet, you can easily choose NGN wallet at this point.

Step 3

Now that your Cardify Dollar Card is loaded with USDT or NGN (Note: there are cases where it takes sometime to have the card reflect the new balance, so you might have to be patient in such cases), head over to AliExpress and search for the product you wish to buy. In my case, it was a 50000mAh Power Bank 20W PD 3.0 Two-way Fast Charging desk lamp Powerbank. To save on shipping costs, filter the results to display items with free shipping. Once you've made your selection, proceed to the checkout, fill in your address and click add payment option. Proceed to your Cardify app and click on the card you have created and funded then click on View card and input your 4 digits pin to view the card details, enter the card details in the fields provided on AliExpress and click proceed.

You can check the full video of How To Buy Things On AliExpress From Nigeria here :https://youtu.be/7-1-SxNSQjo

Viola! order complete. As i await the arrival of my power bank, here are three compelling reasons why I rate Cardify above other virtual dollar card providers:
1. Direct Funding with USDT and NGN options:
Cardify's unique feature allows you to fund your virtual card directly with USDT, streamlining international transactions without the need for traditional banks or currency conversion.

2. User-Friendly App:
The Cardify app is user-friendly, making the entire process from registration to card funding and usage straightforward and accessible even for those with limited tech experience.

3. Responsive Support:
In my experience, Cardify's customer support was impressive. They promptly addressed my concerns and kept me informed about system status, ensuring a smooth user experience.

Webmasters / Choosing A Reliable And Efficient Web Hosting And Domain Registration platform. by mukthar1994(m): 7:13pm On Apr 15, 2023
Hi there! If you're anything like me, the thought of creating a website can be both exciting and overwhelming. But don't worry - registering on a web hosting platform is actually a lot easier than you might think. As someone who's navigated the process myself, I'm here to share my tips and tricks for getting started. In this article, I'll walk you through the steps of registering on a web hosting platform to be able to make the best decision.

Bluehost
If you're looking for a web hosting and domain registration service that won't break the bank, Bluehost is the way to go. They've got 24/7 customer service, a super easy-to-use interface, and even give you a free domain for the first year. They've got a bunch of different hosting plans too, from shared to VPS to dedicated. Only downside? The renewal rates can be a little higher than the intro prices, but hey, you get what you pay for.

Pricing: is 2,242NGR/month and $2.95/month for American users.

SiteGround
SiteGround is a web hosting platform known for its fast and secure hosting solutions. Their user-friendly control panel, website builder, and automatic backups make managing your website easy. They also offer a range of hosting options to choose from, including shared, cloud, and dedicated hosting, depending on your needs. One major downside of SiteGround is that there is no free domain name registration.

Pricing :is 11,392NGR/month and $14.99/month for American users.

HostGator
HostGator is another popular web hosting platform that provides 24/7 customer support, a user-friendly control panel, and a range of hosting plans to choose from. They offer shared, cloud, and dedicated hosting services, as well as a website builder to help you create your website quickly and easily. One major downside to HostGator is that customer support can be slow during peak hours.

Pricing is 2,090NGR/month and $2.75/month for American users.

GoDaddy
GoDaddy is a well-known platform for domain name registration, but they also offer web hosting services. They provide a variety of hosting plans, including shared, WordPress, and dedicated hosting, and their user-friendly interface makes managing your website easy. They also offer a website builder and 24/7 customer support. One major downside to GoDaddy is that website speed can be very slow.

Pricing: is 2,272NGR/month and $2.99/month for American users.

Namecheap
Namecheap is another popular platform for domain name registration, but they also offer web hosting services. They offer shared, WordPress, and VPS hosting options, as well as a user-friendly control panel and website builder to help you get your website up and running quickly. One major downside to NameCheap is that some features are only available on higher-tier plans

Pricing: is 18,909NGR/year and $24.88/year for American users.

One similar feature of all of these web hosting platforms listed is that they accept payment via major credit cards such as Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. Additionally, some of these hosting platforms may accept payment via other methods such as PayPal, checks, or bank transfers. However, the availability of payment methods may vary depending on your location and the specific hosting plan you choose. With Cardify Africa virtual dollar card, Nigerians can now pay for their monthly subscriptions in dollars hassle-free. The virtual dollar card allows Nigerians to make online payments in dollars and can be funded with both naira and stablecoins (USD, Busd etc). Users can also use a Cardify Africa basic dollar card to pay on udemy, google play, youtube, amazon, aliexpress, PayPal, Fiverr, opera, aws, and Twitter amongst others.

In summary, choosing the right web hosting and domain name registration platform is an important decision that can influence the success of your website. It is advisable to take into account various factors such as cost, customer support, available features, and user-friendliness while making your choice. By choosing the right platform, you can create a website that not only satisfies your requirements but also surpasses your expectations.

Music/Radio / Which Is Your Favourite Online Music Streaming App And Why? A General Review by mukthar1994(m): 11:57am On Apr 04, 2023
Music streaming has become an integral part of our recent lives, providing us with instant access to a vast library of music. Gone are those days when people rely on loading a memory card with their preferred songs or getting it transferred to their devices through Bluetooth, i remember downloading songs online, receiving via Bluetooth, USB, and memory card, as much as some still do these till date (maybe not through infrared any longer), the use of online streaming apps have largely taken over the scene.

With so many music streaming apps available in the market, choosing the right one can be a daunting task. In this article, we will compare the most popular music streaming apps and discuss the pros and cons of each, including YouTube Music, Spotify, Apple Music, Shazam, Deezer, Boomplay, Audiomack and Deezer.

YouTube Music
YouTube Music is a music streaming app that provides users with access to millions of songs and music videos. One of the benefits of using YouTube Music is that it offers a vast collection of music videos, live performances, and covers, i think this is a natural leverage youtube music has due to its integration with youtube itself, i find so much live and rare old Nigerian classics that has been uploaded as a still or low quality video years ago. The app also offers a personalized music experience, where it recommends music based on your listening history. However, one of the downsides of YouTube Music is that it's not available in all countries, and the ads can be quite intrusive, which can affect your listening experience.
Price: The Youtube Music Premium individual plan costs ₦900 ($2.45) monthly while the family plan for up to six users costs ₦1,400 ($3.80). The YouTube Premium individual plan costs ₦1,100 ($3) while the family plan costs ₦1,700 ($4.60).

Spotify
Spotify is another popular online music streaming app that offers a vast music library, personalized playlists, and a user-friendly interface. The app has a free version, but users can upgrade to a premium subscription that unlocks additional features such as ad-free streaming, offline listening, and the ability to skip tracks. Another major leverage of Spotify is its social sharing features, users can listen to songs in groups as well as share their playlists with friends and family on social media. One downside of Spotify is that the app's premium subscription can be quite expensive, and it may not be affordable for everyone.
Price: Spotify premium (individual plan) is available for 900NGN per month in Nigeria, and $9.99 per month for USA users

Apple Music
Apple Music is an online music streaming app that offers a vast music library, personalized playlists, and high-quality audio. The app is available for iOS and Android devices, and users can opt for a premium subscription that unlocks additional features such as ad-free streaming, offline listening, and the ability to skip tracks. One major downside of Apple Music is that the app is only available on Apple devices, and it may not be accessible to everyone.
Price: 1 month of Apple music costs 10.99$ per month with first month free.

Shazam
Shazam is an online music streaming app that allows users to identify songs that are playing around them. The app also offers a vast music library and personalized playlists. One major downside of Shazam is that the app does not offer offline listening, and users need to be connected to the internet to listen to music.
Price: Although Apple has now acquired Shazam and integrated the Apple music payment structure into it, Shazam Encore Plan was $2.99 per month.

Boomplay
Boomplay is an African music streaming app that offers a vast music library of African and international music. The app has a free version, but users can upgrade to a premium subscription that unlocks additional features such as ad-free streaming, offline listening, and the ability to skip tracks. Boomplay also has an extensive collaboration with several Nigerian providers to offer users several add ons mostly with regard to payment. With over 100M songs across different genres like Pop, Rock, Afrobeats, Afropop and Reggae, one major downside of Boomplay is that it does not offer much in terms of customization options such as customizing sound quality or setting up personalized recommendations based on user preferences.
Price: 899NGN per month for the premium plan.

Audiomack
Audiomack is an online music streaming app that offers a vast music library of African and international music. The app has a free version, but users can upgrade to a premium subscription that unlocks additional features such as ad-free streaming, offline listening, and the ability to skip tracks. Audiomack has been around since 2012 and boasts an expansive library with over 8 million tracks that can be streamed without interruption or ads. One major downside of Audiomack is that the app's premium subscription can be quite expensive, and it may not be affordable for everyone.
Price: $5.99 per month for the premium plan.

Deezer
Deezer is an online music streaming app that offers a vast music library, personalized playlists, and high-quality audio. The app has a free version, but users can upgrade to a premium subscription that unlocks additional features such as ad-free streaming, offline listening, and the ability to skip tracks. Deezer has 43 million songs available for streaming and is constantly updated with new songs.. One downside of Deezer is that the app's premium subscription can be quite expensive, and it may not be affordable for everyone.
Price: Deezer free is not available in Nigeria, deezer premium costs 4,600NGN per month or 10.99$/month + tax

A mutual feature of all these apps is the fact that you have to upgrade to a plan for more convenient and non-intrusive features, when it comes to paying for these subscriptions, many Nigerians have faced challenges as most of these apps do not accept Naira debit cards. However, with Cardify Africa's virtual dollar card, Nigerians can now pay for their monthly subscriptions in dollars hassle-free. The virtual dollar card allows Nigerians to make online payments in dollars and can be funded with both naira and stablecoins (Usdt, Busd etc). Users can also use a cardify africa basic dollar card to pay on udemy, google play, youtube, amazon, aliexpress, paypal, fiverr, namecheap, opera, aws, twitter amongst others.

It is important to note that most of these apps also have the local player feature, which means they can be used to play directly downloaded music on the phone as well. You can also download songs on these apps to listen to when offline, although, the download feature mostly comes with paid plans. In conclusion, each online music streaming app has its unique features and benefits. However, it ultimately comes down to personal preference and maybe flexibility, which bears the question, which online music streaming app is your personal favourite and why?

Business To Business / How To Get A Twitter Blue Verified Badge From Nigeria by mukthar1994(m): 9:24pm On Mar 27, 2023
Twitter's blue tick, also known as the verified badge, is a coveted symbol of status and credibility for many users on the platform. It was formerly only awarded to accounts that have been deemed authentic and of public interest by Twitter, and it helps to establish trust between the account owner and their followers. However, Twitter has started rolling out its revamped subscription service that allows anyone to pay for a verification badge. Here are steps on how to get your account verified via the subscription service paying from Nigeria.

Step 1:
Meet Twitter's Verification Requirements.

Before you can apply for a blue tick, you must ensure that your Twitter account meets the platform's verification requirements. Twitter's verification criteria vary depending on the account type, but the following are some general requirements for a blue tick:

Your account must be active, complete, and public.
You must have a profile picture, a header image, a bio, and a website link (if applicable).
Your account must have been active for at least six months.
You must have a confirmed email address and phone number associated with your account.
Your tweets must comply with Twitter's terms of service and community guidelines.
Your account must have a history of regular and significant engagement with your followers.

Step 2:
Check if the benefits are worth the cost or not

Once you have confirmed that your account meets Twitter's verification requirements, you can apply for verification.
Login to twitter on app, Click on the Twitter Blue option on the menu list, you get to see twitter blue benefits which includes, but are not limited to longer tweets, edit tweet option, bookmark folders, NFT profile pictures, fewer ads, ranking boasts etc.

Step 3:
Proceed to Payment

As much as payment amount varies by country, Payment from Nigeria is 11.00 USD (if paying monthly) or 114.99 USD (if paying yearly at a 12% discount). Pricing information by country can be found on twitter's pricing page here.

Since I found it difficult to pay with my debit cards, I opted for the Cardify africa's virtual dollar card at the rate of 760N/$ on www.cardify.co, I was able to fund my existing cardify card with 89,034 naira totalling 117.15 USD. Also note that you can fund your virtual cards to pay for several online bills with USDT and other stablecoins with them.

I entered my virtual card details on the checkout form on twitter. The payment was accepted immediately on twitter ad and I got the prompt that the verification will become active as soon as it gets reviewed, after three working days, I got the verified tick on my twitter account.

I am sure their financial partners dropped them following the money laundering case in Kenya.

I have about $4 left on my dollar card.

I learnt www.chippercash.com is a good alternative. Nevertheless, I am really gutted.

cardify.co is another alternative

Please what’s the way around dollar restrictions? I’m unable to buy stuff from sites like Amazon. Genuine help needed.

They best way is to get a Virtual dollar card which has no restriction to your spending and you can fund easily, The one I am using is Cardify, they even allow me to fund my card with usdt so I will suggest you try that.

Last 2 replies look like advert. Don't use any Cardify lol.

Payday is the best. They are even recommended on Starlink website.

- Payday
- Chippercash
- Gotok

It's what i recommend. Anything else, you are on your own. Lol

It is not a paid advert, it is what I used and I am only trying to share my opinion. You should just respect other's opinions rather than force yours down their throat. Chipper, Payday and probably Gotok are options to explore, but I used Cardify. If that's not pleasing to your ears, stay off my submission.
