OmoBendel24: No ish though, of course it covers delivery. But it's in your best interest to first use that visa for what it was granted for before thinking of birthing with it, no gainsaying this at this moment oh! At least you are graced to have escaped the 221(g) visa refusal /call for follow-up interview scheduling/attendance.
If I may ask, is it B2 specifically or B1/B2 you picked in the application form you filled? I specifically picked B2. And yes, I'll be going for vacation on the exact date I filled. Just wondering about future usage. In fact, my son that was taken for interview, had B2 visa sticker stuck to the back of his passport. Thank you for your response. |

Good day everyone, please if one applied for visa to give birth, used it appropriately and came back. Then after expiry drop box application was done and granted. Does this mean the renewed visa still covers delivery. Because while filling the form, it asked if you're renewing the same type of visa. I'm just curious, I'm not pregnant just want to know if I'll need to apply for another visa if I want to use my visa for another delivery.
@Ladyguinivere, @seyewest, @omobendel24, everyone. Kindly help if you know. |

Chips101: A visa grants ENTRY into the country, it does not determine length of stay. If she is in the country legally and has applied for an extension due to circumstances she does not need to apply to renew her visa. Her passport must be valid though. Ah. Not true o. Most times you're stamped in for 6 months. Only few cases get less. Not familiar with extension of stay. I'm sure someone will answer that. |

Good evening everyone, Been a while I came here. Hope everyone is good. Just thought I should add this here. I also had a baby in America in 2016 and renewed my visa this year. I had the baby in oakbend and I had a letter from oakbend stating how much I paid and also stated that the state of Texas or any organisation in the USA did not pay any part of my bills. I wasn't called for an interview after Dropbox though I stated during the initial interview that I was going to have my baby in America. I just think adding the clause that no one paid any part of your bills might help during visa renewals. |

Mancala: I heard something today from a very reliable (official) source about US visiting visas and wondered if it applies to Nigeria. Granted, I am not an expert on these matters, so I would like more experienced folks on this thread to weigh in. I was told that you are not permitted to provide childcare services while visiting your family in the U.S. It is considered work and tourists are not authorized to work in the US. You can visit and see the child, but if it goes beyond that into babysitting or other care, you are violating the terms of your visa and could jeopardize any future visits. For example, a grandmother can visit with grandkids on a visiting visa, but childcare and helping take care of the children falls under working because it takes away jobs from US daycare centers and teenagers who babysit. That type of work, even unpaid, is prohibited on a B1/B2 Saying I was shocked is an understatement. Is this not a typical reason why Nigerian grandmothers visit the U.S.? And don't they state this reason clearly during the visa interview? Is it overlooked for Nigeria because its our culture? I doubt this. My mum was granted a B1B2 visa specifically for the purpose of helping with my 2year old and the baby. And she was asked questions relating to taking care of newborns. How many grandkids she's taken care of before bla bla. I'm about renewing her visa through drop box too. Though there are people who go for omugwo and take side jobs of baby sitting for others there for a fee. I'm sure it's these kind of people the person was referring to |

Adebuble: No it was my valid visa I used, I just sent them the mail stating that I want to use the visa for child birth...I already did a drop box and got a visa in May without interview....
I feel the lady just wanted to refuse him..which is fine, will reapply 6mths time..
I will advice u take all necessary and documents that looks unnecessary too a long with you...
Carry UR zero Balance/itemized zero balance with u.
If ur going to a state in US for the 1st time goggle places to visit..
I have been to MD,TX,NY, ATL, but not IL and I was asked places I want to visit. I told her my sister is there schooling n we intend to have Thanksgiving with her..she kept asking places in Chicago I want to visit..me just won go rest and shop..
The VO kinda made the interview look like I was trying to renew my visa...after the denial, I had to ask her hope she did not cancel my valid visa....she said no...
Best of luck dear..wish u well. Hmm, na wa o. I actually already packed all the above documents. I even included his birth receipt from the UK. Last year he was denied a UK visa cos I forgot to include his birth certificate. Though his passport wasn't stamped. It was still painful. His first visit after birth, I didn't include the receipt of payment of his birth, but I was called from the embassy to bring it and his visa was approved. So I thought they could have easily asked me to bring the birth certificate too. Or even check their records since he was born there and it wasn't his first visa too. You never know with this people. May God make it easy for us and help us in this country. I just wish I had him in America too. At the time of his birth, I didn't know it was legal to give birth in America. What I paid for his delivery in the UK is more than what I paid for his brothers delivery in the US. Sigh |

I went for interview today with my son, and he was denied visa..
I guess today was not there day and he will get on his next interview.
I was asked few questions: Personally I feel the VO was mean n somehow, I have done interviews for vacation and school and I was given, given birth to a baby in US paid all my bills yet my son was not given..
The VO said she did not give my son cos I didn't come along with my daughter's birth receipts.. If she was nice she wld have just said I should send copies...please NOTE, I have a valid US Visa..
Will travel to an African country n reapply in 6mths...
Pls carry the necessary and unnecessary documents you never know..
PS, let us explore other African Countries and leave US alone for now..
Best of Luck others.. Awww. So sorry about this. Did you get a visa for child birth when you had the baby? I also need to take my 4year old for his interview next week. And I also had a baby in America on my last visa. |

Good morning house,
I was the lady that asked how to extract my son's details from drop box application a few weeks ago.
Got my passport back this morning with my visa granted. Alhamdulillah.
No transcript since it's drop box.
Something confusing though, i submitted mine and my husband's together, he being the principal applicant. Surprisingly, I got mine and he's is yet to be ready. Please has this happened to anyone? Any idea what this means? |

OmoBendel24: If it's interview appointment you are trying to book for the child, you are already on the wrong route. Call the embassy customer care unit and ask them to help separate the child's profile from yours now that you have added it to yours, you can't separate it yourself. You actually need to create a stand-alone profile for the child..... Have the child's passport details and a separate email address handy while making the call. And the child's DS160 confirmation number too.
If you had created a separate profile for the child without adding to any other profile, you wouldn't have been having this challenge.... Regards Thank you. Yes that's what I was trying to do. Will call tomorrow by God's grace. Profile has been together from our last application. Thank you very much. I really appreciate. |

seyewest: The first Question is this, do you have the username and password to your interview page? if yes you can do the following; pay N57,600 for each applicant and fill DS160 form for each applicant. If you're the main applicant, you will login into your ustraveldocs.com account and update your ds160 form number and sometimes your passport info and click save and it will continue to the next page which will be for additional applicant and you will include your husband and son in the space provided afterwards you will be made to answer some questions and also for the reference number of your payment receipts before a page for dropbox submission is shown to you for printing and submission at the preferred DHL office. Thank you so much. I did that already successfully for my husband and I. But my 4 year old doesn't qualify for drop box. So I'm wondering how to extract his information and book an appointment for him. |

Good evening everyone,
Thank you ladyG for starting this thread and every single person that has contributed. Every information contained here is invaluable.
Please I'm trying to renew our us visas. I've successfully applied for drop box for my husband and I. One of my sons needs a visa too. I'm a bit confused on how to book his appointment.
The last visa interview was booked as a family. I've tried to fill another ds160 form for him through my profile but it keeps adding my own name too.
Please how do i do this? Am I supposed to create a new profile for him and delete his name from mine? Will I be able to use the same email address or I have to create a new one?
I sincerely appologise if this has been treated here. I've tried to scan through the thread but all I see is that a new ds160 form needs to be filled. I'm just a little confused about the process of filling it.
Thank you for reading. Hope to get a favourable response. |

Tojued: Have you visited page zero of this thread and followed all the links?
Improve your ielts to band 9 or 8.5. Did you do any diploma those days of JAMB frustration? If yes, evaluate it. If no, get a second certificate such as NOUN PGD or ACCA foundation certificate (don't know much but it has been exhaustively discussed on this thread). With band 9 and two or more certs you'll be around crs 430. This score will possibly drop by five points on your next birthday.
Now let's think outside the box. Do you or your husband have any sibling who has head and is younger than 30 years? Sell this canada idea to them and assist their migration as much as you can (both financially and morally). When they get their PR status, then you get extra 15 points and enter the 440s where ITA is more certain.
It's a long term plan but if you can immediately and simultaneously kick-start a sibling's journey alongside your second certificate quest, by this time next year you should have your ITA in hand and your COPR latest December 2019. This is in my opinion your cheapest bet, and most beneficial in the long run.
Another option is PNP which can give you 600 points. You can visit the nairaland PNP thread.
Then again, Australia's migration process is less age discriminatory than canada's so visit the Australia skilled worker thread to reconsider that option. Thank you so so much for taking your time to write this out. I don't have any extra certificates, but I will definitely explore these options. I have a brother that I've been begging to do this journey. I used a band 7 for him throughout and he still scored 478 crs. But for some reason, he's not interested at all. Was a bit worried about the extra courses because of age. But will get on it right way. May God bless you richly |

happytbaby: My sister, change your own listening to 8, the scores will be better, though Oga has good IELTS score, his age will drastically reduce the points. Do you also have a Master's degree? If you do , you can be the primary applicant with better listening scores, the points will be higher, Oga will give you the maximum 30 that a spouse without Canadian experience/education can give. Thank you so much for your response. I actually did a trial using me as the principal applicant and the difference in scores was just 2. Probably because I don't have a second degree. I filled using the highest range for myself in the ielts scores. Phew! It is well |

Good afternoon everyone. May God bless 're brain behind this thread and all the contributors to the thread.
I have read most of the threads from part 1 and I must confess it's super educative and enlightening.
I pray my request/worry will get a solution here. We started this journey about 4 years ago with an agent (didn't know we could do it on our own). The agent messed up, didn't get us into the pool before the express entry system started all because she abandoned our application till the last minute before realising we had the wrong size of passport for our baby then.
Abandoned the whole process till a friend told me we could do it ourselves and while searching I found this thread. (To think I've been on nairaland for a while now and I never saw it)
Anyway, thank God I found it. My issue now is, we somehow can't get more 5han 407 crs score even with an all 8 band in ielts. I'm not sure why. I've tried everything. My husband has an MSC from the UK. Chartered both in the UK and nigeria. Over 11 years experience 4 of which were in the uk 42 years old Ielts speaking 8 Listening 8.5 Writing 8 Reading 8.5
Are we doing something wrong? I've even tried the Australian route. I'm just confused. I don't want to believe it's my village people that don't want us to go o.
Please someone should help me. Is there a way to claim points for professional certifications(just being hopeful)
My own ielts Speaking 8 Writing 7.5 Reading 7 Listening 7.5
I'm 38 years old.
NB : the agent died a few months later so it took a while to even get our log in details to the pool. |
