Politics › Re: Reps Ask Buhari To Declare State Of Emergency Over Insecurity by Munamu: 7:59pm On Apr 27, 2021
gaddafe:
@the posters above, I don't think you understood what you read. They're not asking for a state of emergency on a state or any region, but on the subject matter "Security". That is making security a priority in his agenda.

Back to the topic. State of emergency will not solve anything. Rather the legislatures are the main problem and they should start weighing their options. Which are as follows:

1. Either create state police or

2. allow citizens protect themselves by allowing those above 18years move with AK 47 or

3. Allow the private securities move with AK47 or
4. Legalise social security and other benefits to the unemployed etc. or
5. Totally scrap this constitution and write a new one. or

6. start making arrangements for peacefully dividing the country etc

Bless u . reading is one thing, comprehending is another.

The very human that is about to take food out of your mouth

Only reason why yoruba are scared of Kanu... the benefit from one Nigeria

They’re scared of their tomorrow, knowing Yoruba can’t stand as a country .. neither will there be odua nation once Biafra flag is raised

Yoruba understand well ... that Biafra freedom will be end of “ nigeria” ... another word will be used to term the New Islamic Republic.

Yoruba should man up and face the reality of today Nigeria
Trying hard to sell dummy to who?

Who are Dey impressing with this propaganda the British or Igbos?
Maybe the international community

But this people already have first hand intelligence on every thing happening in Nigeria
And don’t need Yoruba media propaganda .

Granting asylum to IPOB and then reviewing it..
they never consulted Yoruba media or Nigeria daily trust..
Otherwise
They wouldn’t have sanctioned both asylum and review.

So op what do you intend to achieve with this your post
Because it’s a very stupid post ... aimless daft

Kanu will keep living large ... no be Yoruba people money
No be Yoruba people dead

But fear of Biafra have made Yoruba people so insecure in the country the love to milk

Anyway
Knowing how useless the post and nairaland have become..

You can keep wailing deep down...
Even Hausa Fula understand the very pain of a Yoruba human and Biafra

Most painful

Yoruba can’t and will never be free from the North

They can make noise from now till the op becomes great grand father..

That’s fact... most scary is their fear of an Islamic republic without access to southern oil

Enjoy op
To think you use your precious time to respond to that ignoramus. Well trained soldiers indeed!

Politics › Re: Buhari: I Won’t Sack Pantami, Dismisses Critics by Munamu: 6:05am On Apr 23, 2021
NwaNimo1:
President Muhammadu Buhari blasted campaigners for the sack of communications and digital economy minister, Isa Pantami, calling them “cancel campaigners”.

While saying he will not sack Pantami, Buhari gave a long response on why the action, as being campaigned would not be just.

First, he claimed some ICT companies offered money to some media houses to run a smear
campaign against Pantami.

He said the campaign was about what Pantami said in the past, when he was in his 20s, echoing Pantami’s own defence at the weekend.

And he added that the campaign was instigated by the people who Pantami might have stepped upon while introducing changes in the ICT sector.

In the final analysis, the President said Pantami will not be dismissed from the cabinet.

“The Administration stands behind Minister Pantami and all Nigerian citizens to ensure they receive fair treatment, fair prices, and fair protection in ICT services”, Buhari said, according to statement released by Garba Shehu.

Read the full statement:

“Today, there is an unfortunate fashion in public discourse that makes leaders in politics, religion, and civil society liable in the present for every statement they have ever made in the past – no matter how long ago, and even after they have later rejected them.

“This insidious phenomenon seeks to cancel the careers of others on the basis of a thing they have said, regardless of when they said it.

“The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami is, currently, subject to a “cancel campaign” instigated by those who seek his removal.

“They do not really care what he may or may not have said some 20 years ago: that is merely the instrument they are using to attempt to “cancel” him. But they will profit should he be stopped from making decisions that improve the lives of everyday Nigerians.

“The Minister has, rightly, apologized for what he said in the early 2000s. The views were absolutely unacceptable then, and would be equally unacceptable today, were he to repeat them. But he will not repeat them – for he has publicly and permanently condemned his earlier utterances as wrong.

“In the 2000s, the Minister was a man in his twenties; next year he will be 50. Time has passed, and people and their opinions – often rightly – change.

“But all discerning Nigerians know this manufactured dispute is nothing to do with the Minister’s prior words, but solely concern his actions in the present.

“This Administration is committed to improving the lives of all Nigerians – and that includes ensuring they are not over-charged or under-protected for those services on which modern life depends.

“The Minister has been leading the charge against illegal data deductions and pricing; he has revolutionized the government’s virtual public engagement to respond to COVID-19 and save taxpayers’ money; he has established ICT start-up centres to boost youth entrepreneurship and create jobs; he has changed policy to ensure locally produced ICT content is used by ministries, starting with his own; and he has deregistered some 9.2 million SIMs – ending the ability for criminals and terrorists to flagrantly use mobile networks undetected.

“In two short years, Minister Pantami has driven the contribution of the ICT sector to the GDP to more than 18 percent, making it one of the top two playing a critical role in the emergence of the economy from the COVID 19-induced recession.

“In putting people first, the Minister and this administration have made enemies.

“There are those in the opposition who see success and want it halted by any means. And there is now well-reported information that alleges newspaper editors rebuffed an attempt to financially induce them to run a smear campaign against the minister by some ICT companies, many of which do indeed stand to lose financially through lower prices and greater consumer protections.

“The government is now investigating the veracity behind these claims of attempted inducement, and – should they be found to hold credence – police and judicial action must be expected.

“The Administration stands behind Minister Pantami and all Nigerian citizens to ensure they receive fair treatment, fair prices, and fair protection in ICT services.

Now this is my summary.

Yele apparently wanted to inform her of the grant he had taken out in her name but she was in detention.
She learnt about it but could not ascertain it's progress because Yele was in detention.

So she rather confirmed the story from Yele's lawyer but still could not confront Yele face to face on it when he got out of detention even though they lived under the same roof.

Now my multi-million questions are these?

1.) Is cohabitating part of their Revolution now struggle?

If yes,

2). Is there even a remote possibility that Yele has slotted either his floppy disc or hard disk into her P. Drive during the time they lived under the same roof?

If yes,

3). Is it moral to mix business with pleasure and can someone who does be trusted enough to become President of a country as confused as Nigeria?

If no,

Which is a worse fraud? A). Shagging someone whom you should mentor or B). Scamming her of a grant obtained in her name?

If A,

Did she enjoy it?

If B,

Was she ever expecting the grant in the first place?

If the answer to both questions are NO.

Then you'd not only realize that she is a confused greedy soul but also that one of the most unproductive thing to do is to be bothered over the true story behind the accusations of two jailbirds whose only motive in life is to disguise the true intent of their activism when in reality their only drive is the insatiable greed in their belly for self aggrandizement.

I've never trusted Yele's intent or sincerity of purpose just like I don't trust the lady's exploitation claims too.
A woman by default thrives by making herself appear the underdog when in fact she is the predator.

VERDICT.

These two are not freedom fighters, they are simply refined egunje hunters and I pity any one who is deluded enough to take them seriously.

The deputy coordinator of the Hausa community in Imo State, Sulaiman Ibrahim Sulaiman, otherwise known as Garkwa Hausa (Shield of Hausa community), speaks to CHIDIEBUBE OKEOMA about the killing of seven suya sellers in the state by some gunmen

As coordinator of Hausa traders in Imo State, what can you say about the recent killing of seven suya sellers in two days by gunmen?

I am not the head of the Hausa community in Imo State; I am the second in command. The killings are highly regrettable but we can’t question God. Though it is very disturbing and provocative, we have submitted to the will of the Almighty God. We believe that God gives and He takes. We can only mourn as human beings, there is nothing we can do to bring the victims back to life.

Who informed you about the killings?

It was the Imo State Commissioner of Police who informed me and the Hausa community in Imo State about the killings of our brothers in Umuaka and Orlu. The killings were painful because the victims left very young families. They never bargained for it because they were selling suya when the gunmen struck and killed them.

Why do you think the gunmen would target suya sellers for killing?

Their killings were politically-motivated. It had nothing to with the Indigenous People of Biafra or the Eastern Security Network. Aggrieved politicians, who are not happy with the transformations going on in Imo State, masterminded the killings. They want to make Imo State ungovernable for distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma, but by the grace of God, they will never succeed.

So, you think the killing of the seven suya sellers is part of the unrest currently rocking Imo State
?

Yes, it is part of the crisis happening in the state. As I said earlier, the gunmen killed our people to incite northerners to start attacking the Igbo living in the North. The killers are trying to make it look like it was IPOB that masterminded the killings, but it was not IPOB; the killings had a political undertone. The killers were sponsored by those who wish the Imo State Government bad.

An aide to the state governor has earlier said the killing of the suya sellers might be politically-motivated. Is your position based on what he said?

I totally agree with him. The killing of our brothers was politically-motivated. It was designed in such a way to encourage ethnic war but we have found out that it was not IPOB that killed them. Imo people are peace-loving people. Many of us were born here and our generations have lived in Imo State for over 150 years. How can we have problem with those who give us their daughters in marriage; those whose breast milk many of us suckled? Imo people don’t have any problem with the Hausa community in Imo State. The killings were politically-motivated.

Were the killings reported to the police and are any efforts being made to track down the killers and bring them to justice?

Yes, the killings were reported to the police. As I told you, it was the Imo State Commissioner of Police that informed me and the Hausa community here about the killings. And, of course, efforts are being made to make sure that their killers are arrested and brought to justice.

How are the families of the deceased dealing with their losses?

Their families are devastated because they never bargained for what happened. Moreover, the victims left behind very young families. The slain suya sellers were the breadwinners of their families, so, their killing is, indeed, a big blow to their families. As a community, we are telling their families that they are not alone in this moment of loss. We share their grief.

Are the fellow Hausa traders in Imo doing anything to support the families of the slain suya sellers?

Yes, we are doing what we can to support the grieving families. We are supporting them in the ways we can. In the spirit of ‘be your brother’s keeper,’ we are assisting them to overcome these difficult times.

Have the slain suya sellers been buried?

They have been buried. They were buried in line with the dictates of the Islamic region and doctrines.

Were they buried in Imo or taken back to the North?

They were buried here in Imo State. Their killings were not good but we have submitted to the will of the Almighty God.

Do you support the call for state police as a lasting solution to these incessant attacks?
Which state police? We are fine with this centralised police command. State police will be abused and it will divide Nigeria the more. If you establish state police now, every state will only be defending their indigenes, thereby creating more tribal and religious problems. We are fine with this centralised police formation.

Many are blaming the rising insecurity in the South-East on President Muhammadu Buhari’s alleged marginalisation of the region. What is your view on this?

Which marginalisation? The Hausa are the most accommodating people in Nigeria. How many Igbo people were involved when Goodluck Jonathan was President and how many Hausa people were accommodated? How many Yoruba people were in charge when Obasanjo was President and how many Hausa people did you you see around?

Newzik:
From all indications, it's clear the north is angry that the southern Nigeria is very peaceful while it boils with self-made monsters like boko haram, bandits and other killer-groups. No southerner asks the north to boil, it's their choice.
No one can doubt that every part of the south had been largely peaceful prior to the invasion of Fulani killer-herdsmen. Today, different militant groups have risen in the south all in the attempts to protect the southerners from Fulani killers as federal government seems to enjoy the killings. From Benue to Yoruba to Igbo and to South-south, every tribe is now wary of Fulani killers and is raising local combatants. The silence of the federal government to the real cause of this growing violence and apprehension created by the Fulanis is most worrisome. Since, it's obvious the army is shielding or protecting the Fulanis, why blame or attack other tribes for choosing self-help as advised by TY Danjuma? What is the rationale for criticising Amortekun, ESN and other regional groups when the army and the police have failed to protect their people?
I want to say categorically that the violence in the South is entirely caused by the north and it has to stop. Using Fulani killers to incite or provoke people can't lead to a united Nigeria. We can now see it is no longer an issue of nomadic herding but an attempt to instigate war. Why would Fulani killers invade a commuity at night and start spraying bullets on innocent people as we witnessed in Ebonyi state recently? If the north wishes to burn itself into ashes, they shouldn't spread it to the peaceful south.
I disagree, the average northerner will not want the country to disintegrate. The south is where the money comes from. I stay in katsina, presently all projects are down because of the revenue shortfall from federal allocation. When they send soldiers to the south, it is for the protection of their source of livelihood.

Please I need advice.

I am a young guy age 28 currently in my final year hoping to graduate this year by God's grace. Am in a relationship in with a gal I love so much and the love keeps growing day by the day.

She is 30 years old and just graduated this year but she is talking of waiting for me so we can serve together. The thing now is that I wish to get married to her but am not ready now. But she says she can wait for me if only I won't disappoint her.

Now am confused, if she waits for me for 5 years she would be 35 by then and am not sure if it's right getting married to someone 2 years older than me and someone at the age of 35 or above.. to add to it, she doesn't look her age, even if someone sees us, they won't believe she is my senior..

Pls am really confused, have never dated someone who understands me like she do.. Note: she never knew my age, she thought we were age mate cause of my voters card she saw which doesn't carry my real age.
Young man, this is the effect of cohabitation, and abortions. An inexperienced girl will normally want to settle done with a guy that used her severally ,even when the love is little.
When you get out of that mirage called higher institution, you will know better. As for the girl, she will not even wait for you.

Useless opportunist, if the number of protesters is neglible, why are you generalising their action. You supported banditry in your state, and make life miserable for poor Northerners . Infact
anytime the poor masses realise that the politicians are the problem of this country, things will be fine. After stealing money and paying bandits,he is now justifying his action with hate speech . Hypocrites! They introduced shariah just to subdue the poor. They share the proceed of alcohol and drink the choicest wine. Shariah forbids ribah, yet they collect kickbacks on contracts ,and do everything the shariah stands against. Yet the poor masses is at the receiving end. Protest in the North, means insubordination. The mismanagement of funds by leaders is why poverty is still written in capital letter there.

Now let us reason this together. OBJ was there for 8yrs, GEJ was there for 6yrs,it is the turn of the Igbo's. This is one area the North has continue to exploit against the South. Must the Presidency come from the Southwest? Let me say this, the disunity of the South is more important to the North than the unity of Nigeria. That is why they created the southern zones in a way that will reflect the homogeneity of the the tribes therein. The implication is that there shall never be any accord amongst the Southerners .The Northwest had produced more Leaders from the Northern region yet, no grumbling from other Northern zones. Because Southerners are more educated and sophisticated, rotation of presidency among the zones means fairness and equity.
The politicians from the East should stand up and be well coordinated, this is the time to test the unity of Nigeria upon the doctrine of equity and fairness.
