With the 2019 general elections looming, a House of Representatives member, Hon. Linus Okorie yesterday told President Muhammadu Buhari and his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) to drop the current vice president Professor Yemi Osinbajo and pick a running mate that hails from the South East region to show his commitment to supporting the emergence of an Igbo president for the country in 2023.



This, according to Okorie, would prove President Buhari’s commitment to the Igbo agenda in 2023 and his support for the emergence of a Nigerian president of Igbo extraction come 2023.



Okorie, who is representing Ohaozara, Onicha and Ivo federal constituency(Ebonyi state) in the House of Representatives was reacting to opposition of South-East Governors and the PDP leaders on the choice of former Anambra state governor, Mr. Peter Obi as running mate of former vice president of Atiku Abubakar for next year’s presidential election.



He, however, urged the governors and the PDP leaders who were aggrieved on the emergence of Obi to congratulate their son instead. He also asked them to thank Atiku for recognizing the zone by picking Obi as his running mate for the general election while advising the aggrieved South-East governors to avoid being sentimental over the choice of Obi and rally support for the PDP VP candidate.

It is not about time to gloat over anything ie if Atiku wins even. Per adventure Atiku wins, let's take it cool and understand that Nigeria is for all.
Though being Igbo, I would have preferred the ATIKU/ADESHINA ticket as I'm still reserved about Igbos being in the corridors of power for now as Nigerians from the two major tribes dont trust us and may misunderstand our every move there just like they did with GEJ even when he isn't Igbo and even blaming everything on Igbos.
Whatever, may GOD's will be done.
I thank GOD for the person of Obi whom I trust will work last for Igbos like he worked last for Agulu his hometown during his term as ANAMABRA STATE GOVERNOR; he isn't a partisan or nepotistic.
However, my fellow Igbos must Taunt no one even most of you might argue we received same treatment in 2015 but if you guys tow same path, history will only remember you as worst than the initiators like it happened in 1966.
Igbos, leave vengeance; it's same thing that brought Nigeria here as found in Buhari's character: he refused to be the father of all and remained vengeful to those he thought kept him from winning elections and those who never supported him. He kept this in mind all these years?.........
Back to Obi: we Igbos must urge Obi to work for the Yorubas, Hausas, Binis, Igbira, Ikwere, Bachamas, etc before we Igbos or moreso equally. And this is what leadership is for sure.
To be succint enough, IGBOS PLEASE REFRAIN FROM ONLINE TRIBAL WARS though provocations may abound

with or without PDP VP going to SW the votes will always be split there BC of non indigenes there.. rather not ceding it to SE will lead to voter apathy

Choosing from the SE may jeopardize his winning chances. Most northerners and SW might not be comfortable with such choices. Just an opinion though...
