[li]Narrated Abu Hurayrah(R.A.):
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday; on it Adam was created, on it he was made to enter Paradise, on it he was expelled from it. Sahih Muslim: Book 4, Number 1856:[/li]

[li]Narrated Abu Huraira(R.A.):
Allah's Apostle (p.b.u.h) talked about Friday and said, "There is an hour (opportune time) on Friday and if a Muslim gets it while praying and asks something from Allah, then Allah will definitely meet his demand." [li]Narrated Salman-Al-Farsi(R.A.):
The Prophet (p.b.u.h) said, "Whoever takes a bath on Friday, purifies himself as much as he can, then uses his (hair) oil or perfumes himself with the scent of his house, then proceeds (for the Jumua prayer) and does not separate two persons sitting together (in the mosque), then prays as much as (Allah has) written for him and then remains silent while the Imam is delivering the Khutba, his sins in-between the present and the last Friday would be forgiven." [li]Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar(R.A.) ; Abu Hurayrah(R.A.):
Ibn Umar and Abu Hurayrah heard Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) say on the planks of his pulpit: People must cease to neglect the Friday prayer, or Allah will seal their hearts and then they will be among the negligent. Sahih Muslim: Book 4, Number 1882: [/li]

I've been told this since I was about 7 cheesy

Narrated Abu Huraira(R.A.):
Allah's Apostle (p.b.u.h) said, "Any person who takes a bath on Friday like the bath of Janaba and then goes for the prayer (in the first hour i.e. early), it is as if he had sacrificed a camel (in Allah's cause); and whoever goes in the second hour it is as if he had sacrificed a cow; and whoever goes in the third hour, then it is as if he had sacrificed a horned ram; and if one goes in the fourth hour, then it is as if he had sacrificed a hen; and whoever goes in the fifth hour then it is as if he had offered an egg. When the Imam comes out (i.e. starts delivering the Khutba), the angels present themselves to listen to the Khutba." Sahih Bukhari: Volume 2, Book 13, Number 6:

The conditions for saying the Jumu'ah Salaat

1. The Jumu'ah salaat should be in a city, BIG VILLAGE or a TOWN like the city. It is NOT PROPER to perform the Jumu'ah salaat in a SMALL VILLAGE.
2.Jumu'ah should be performed at Zohar time.
3. KHUTBAH (address by the Imam) should be delivered BEFORE the salaat.
4. The salaat should be read with Jamaat. It is compulsory to have at least three men besides the Imam to offer the salaat, or else the salaat will not be valid.
5. IZNE AAM (permission to all to attend).

If all these FIVE conditions are found, performing to the Jumu'ah Salaat will be CORRECT.

Most of us do these which is not proper:

Things not allowed during the khutba

1. Talking.
2. Offering SUNNAT and NAFL Salaat.
3. Eating.
4. Drinking.
5. To reply to any TALK.
6. Reciting the QURAAN SHARIF, etc.

All those things, which DISTURB the Khutba, become MAKROOH from the minute the Imam prepares to deliver the Khutba.

In addition, counting tasbirs while the Imam is giving his lecture is very wrong

My Brother, Jum'ah is a very important congregation, If there is no mosque in your town, try to reach the nearest large city with a mosque at Jumah time.

Also, If you find four other brothers in your town, you can perform jumma in a house or apartment.

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.
Allah has said: "So keep your duty to Allâh and fear Him as much as you can; listen and obey; and spend in charity, that is better for yourselves. And whosoever is saved from his own covetousness, then they are the successful ones".[64: 16]. If you can go to the mosque, you should not miss the prayer in it. Know that the Prophet, when asked by a blind man to give him permission to pray in his home as he did not have any one to guide him to the mosque, said to him: "Do you hear the call?" When the blind man said: "Yes", he said to him: "Answer it; I do not find any authorization for you". [Muslim]. The scholars took this Hadith as a sound evidence for the obligation to pray in the mosque in congregation and that it is unlawful to miss it except for a sound excuse such as heavy rain or severe illness. The Prophet said: "The congregational prayer of anyone amongst you is more than twenty five times in reward than his prayer in the market or in his house". [Al Bukhari].
He also said: "The congregational prayer of anyone amongst you is more than twenty (five or twenty seven) times in reward than his prayer in the market or in his house, for if he performs ablution completely and then goes to the mosque with the sole intention of performing the prayer, and nothing urges him to proceed to the mosque except the prayer, then, on every step which he takes towards the mosque, he will be raised one degree or one of his sins will be forgiven. The angels will keep on asking Allah's forgiveness and blessings for everyone of you so long as he keeps sitting at his praying place. The angels will say, 'O Allah, bless him! O Allah, be merciful to him!' as long as he does not do Hadath or a thing which gives trouble to the other." The Prophet further said, "One is regarded in prayer so long as one is waiting for the prayer." [Al Bukhari].
So, Dear Brother, do your best to attend all the prayers in congregation. If you can not go to the mosque, for some reason, you can pray in your home or anywhere else (street) provided that it is a pure place. If there are people passing in front of you, put something (Sutra) between you and the passing people. The Prophet said: "The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said" The earth has been made for me (and for my followers) a place for offering Salat (prayer) and a thing to purify (perform Tayammum), therefore anyone of my followers can offer Salat wherever he is, at the time of a Salat". [Al Bukhari]
If you find some difficulties, Allah will give you a better reward.

Allah knows best.

The show, with Neil Oyenekan as series producer, will make its debut on the Africa Independent Television (AIT) on August 3, 2008. Ogunpitan mentioned piracy and theft of intellectual property as major hurdles in the industry. "You can't imagine how Nigerians are bastardising and basically stealing other people's properties, changing the name and calling it something else. We had that experience with all the major productions we had handled lately. I would like to ask those who are involved in protecting intellectual property in the country like the Nigerian Copyright Commission, National Film and Video Censors Board, Ministry of Justice and others that the situation is getting out of hand in the country. Piracy is not the only issue that is affecting us now, but the theft of intellectual property, and the fact that some people do it and get away with it. It is quite unfortunate."

NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT OPTIMISTIC TEACHERS WILL BACK DOWN

The Nigerian Government has expressed optimism that the on-going teachers' strike in the Country will soon come to an end. Minister of Information and Communications John Odey and his education counterpart, Igwe Aja Nwachukwu told newsmen after Wednesday's Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja that the teachers will call-off the strike based on national interest.

Twenty-Three days after,Nigerian Government has refused meeting the teachers demand for pay increase insisting that tha teachers should backdown on their demand based on national interest.

The appeal by Government that teachers should backdown may fall on deaf ears as the teachers have resolved to continue to put their feet down. The Federal Cabinet also approved measures to decongest Federal access roads leading to, and within the Lagos Port complex.

These include re-acquiring its right of way on the raods and the construction of trailer parks near the sea ports. Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State, who was invited to the Federal cabinet meetinmg also said 16 tank farms that failed to provide holdings bays within the port complex have been suspended from using the ports.

Eight different contracts valued at about One Billion Naira were approved for the University of Nigeria to enable it successfully host the 2009 Nigerian University games.
