Razor, do we know the clause of the contract? OR do we know why Berti Vogts stays in Germany to coach Nigeria online? fOR ALL I CARE DORGBA CAN LEAVE EVEN THOUGH HEZ MY FAVORITE tHOSE THAT WILL SHOCK ME IF THEY LEAVE HER COLE, TERRY N LAMPS. AFTER all, they are all proffesionals and it's becoming obvious that all those 'passion 4 chelsea' stories by drogba were lies! Jm ko, Jm ni! did all real madrid players leave cos they loved a sacked certain coach? abeg, make the guy go siddon make sheva get him chance. After all, he was a flop in the 1st season and he wouldn't have been as good as this if we dint give him a chance! ![]() |
We've only won three times in seven visits since, and the last two trips have been little short of disastrous. In 2005 Boro added the reigning Premier League champions to the scalps of Manchester United and Arsenal with a startling display of incisive counter-attacking. Startling especially for the home fans, who had also seen Steve McClaren's team succumb miserably to Sunderland. That 0-3 was the biggest defeat of José Mourinho's time at Chelsea, but the visitors hammered away at their hosts for most of the match. Last season, for Gareth Southgate's home debut, it was if anything more concerning. Chelsea led through an early Andriy Shevchenko goal but then eased down through the gears and lost all momentum. By the time Boro introduced now-departed striker Mark Viduka, Chelsea were barely pedalling, and two late goals did for the disconsolate Blues. It was an early sign that 2006/7 would be a different season to the previous two. Mourinho had arguably less success against Boro than any other team. Of course, in cups in the 1990s, it was always 2-0 and no problem. But at a time like now, Chelsea's performance will be even more keenly scrutinised than usual against the struggling hosts for signs of fragility or, hopefully, the renewed vigour brilliantly shown away against Valencia and Bolton. It's another jinx that will exercising minds during preparations for this game, however. Just like last season there are unexpected absences that restrict our options. However great the player is, however bad the luck, whether it's injury or suspension, absentees are no good to any side. After two years of relatively few injuries in the Mourinho era, last season's challenge on four fronts floundered during the period either side of Christmas 2006 when at various times the absences of John Terry, Petr Cech, Carlo Cudicini, Michael Ballack, Ashley Cole, Arjen Robben, Khalid Boulahrouz, added to the long-term loss of Joe Cole. We have had no better fortune this season. So far in our 13 matches this season Chelsea players have missed a total of 68 appearances through injury. That is as follows: Ballack 13, Wayne Bridge 9, Ricardo Carvalho 8, Frank Lampard 7, Didier Drogba 5, Robben 4 (before sale), Michael Essien 3, Claude Makelele 3, Andriy Shevchenko 3, Terry 3, Shaun Wright-Phillips 3, Paulo Ferreira 2, Claudio Pizarro 2, Alex 1, Salomon Kalou 1, Scott Sinclair 1. Not all of them, of course, would have played anyway. But add to that disciplinary concerns - on paper our record this season is unfortunately the third worst in the Premier League - and it starts to gnaw away seriously at the strength of the squad generally. However much we may want to dispute the sometimes bewildering refereeing decisions, the red cards for Didier Drogba, John Mikel Obi and Wayne Bridge have meant a further five enforced absences, making 73 to date, and we're barely two months into the season. Chelsea are aiming for a fourth successive away victory in all competitions. Wins at Hull, Valencia and Bolton followed our last defeat in Avram Grant's first game in charge against Manchester United at Old Trafford. Salomon Kalou's goal at Bolton was only the second occasion alongside Frank Lampard's against Portsmouth when we have taken the lead in nine Premier League matches this season. We have conceded the first goal in five of our other seven games. Two have been goalless. Middlesbrough have not won in five games in all competitions - four defeats and one draw. They have won only two of nine Premier League games and have picked up one point from the last 12 available. Boro's home league record this season is won one (Birmingham 2-0), lost one (Blackburn 1-2) and drawn two (Newcastle 2-2, Sunderland 2-2).On the road Chelsea have won at Reading and Bolton, drawn at Liverpool and lost at Aston Villa and Man Utd. Boro have currently the worst disciplinary record with 27 yellow cards. Stewart Downing, Mark Schwarzer and Andrew Taylor and for Chelsea Petr Cech and Ashley Cole have started all nine Premier League games. Middlesbrough's top two scorers last term both left the club in the summer. Mark Viduka with 14 to Newcastle and Yakubu, 12, to Everton. The two of them scored 60 per cent of Boro's 44 Premier League goals. Boro have one Chelsea old boy in their ranks although he is yet to play this term following an ankle injury in pre season. Since Robert Huth left us in the summer of 2006 for £6m he has played only 12 Premier League games, four of them as substitute, in an injury hit last season. For the Blues he won two Premier League medals and played 62 matches made up of 32 starts and 30 substitute appearances. He scored twice. Chelsea moved up to seventh following our win at the Reebok two weeks ago. We now have 15 points from nine games but still trail leaders Arsenal by seven points. Man Utd are second with 20 points, Man City are third on 19 and Liverpool are fourth on 16. Arsenal and Liverpool have a game in hand. Boro dropped to 15th, one point above the drop zone. They have eight points from nine games. After nine games last season they were 12th with 11 points. [s]Middlesbrough's highest position in the Premier League is 7th in 2004/05, which qualified them for the 2005/06 UEFA Cup. Their only major piece of silverware is the Carling Cup in 2004.[/s] ![]() Wayne Bridge is suspended for the second of a three match ban for getting sent off in the reserves against Fulham. Didier Drogba and John Mikel Obi are available again following their suspensions. Didier Drogba, if selected, will make his 150th appearance for the club. His 149 games to date include 30 as a substitute. He is our 18th all time scorer with 67 goals. The match referee is Mark Halsey, who was in charge of our Community Shield match against Manchester United this season. ![]() Chelsea's overall record against Middlesbrough in all competitions is: played 109, won 49, drawn 29, lost 31. ![]() Head to head in the League at Ayresome Park and the Riverside Stadium: played 50, won 11, drawn 16, lost 23. |

yeah i read this stuff on THE GUARDIAN AND THE POINT THAT REALLY MADE SENSE WAS But we are all responsible for the kind of country we have and we have to salvage it together. Akinkumi should please learn to treat the national flag as his own contribution to the making of the Nigerian nation and stop haranguing us every year about flag-related national debt. Nigeria owes all of us. And we all owe Nigeria. THE GUY MADE A BIG POINT THERE! ITZ HIGH TIME WE STOPPED DECEIVING OURSELVES |
Following reports regarding the future of Didier Drogba, Chelsea Football Club has the following statement: 'Didier Drogba signed a new four year contract last year. As a top professional we are sure Didier is committed to Chelsea and intends to honour that contract.'
