I am not surprised you are weakened and thats solely because your arguments from word go, have been based on preconceived opinions and hidden agenda ideas. You really didn't set out nor had any intentions, in the first instance, to have a discussion.

You as a Nigerian already know that many Christians and muslims force their religion on others. Imagine Christians refusing to hire non Christian's or even at times non members of their church. Governors using state money for religious exercises. People disowning children for converting away from their religion.

So to claim that no one forces god on others is a joke.
You see yourself now, hmm? Has anyone proselytized you on this thread yet, huh?
I have been proselytized here to try atheism. Did it bother me. Did I squeal? Did I have a strop and throw out my dummy. Nah. Thick skin things going on there. You just right there was going on a strawmanning expedition. It's not the season yet for that, lol

Adakintroy2:
Disprove God with logic how. Something you bought from school absent of which there would be no logic enough in you in the first place..

School most of your father's presented to you who by the way believed in one God's or the other. Which in any case your present logic your using to disprove "God" Is resting on the believe in God it self at one point. So your logic" depending on how you understand logic already has God in it somewhere.
MacCantStopMe:
Convoluted nonsense.

Now read what I'm going to tell you so that you can understand simple logic.

1. If I tell you that I have a BMW car.

2. You can say that you cannot disprove or prove the existence of my car over nairaland.

3. If I then proceed to tell you that the car cross the Atlantic ocean.

4 you could then correctly claim that my car doesnt exist. Why?
Because it is illogical for a car to float or swim. It is purposely built for land travel.

Now apply this to your God who supposedly can be asleep and awake at the same time. Or a God who is omniscient but gets jealous when we worship other gods.

Omnipotence and omniscience are illogical, paradoxical and self refuting.
MacCantStopMe:
1. I specifically mentioned a BMW. BMW does make amphibious vehicles.

2. Those cars that float are amphibious vehicles. They are not called cars but amphibious vehicles. A car is defined as a road vehicle.

I specifically set a trap for you so that I could see if you could follow logic. Rather than follow the sense, you went into semantics and claim that logic is not for God.

Guy, God did not create logic. Logic exists as an abstract tool for a sentient mind to use. It is an abstract concept that exists independent of a being. Even looking at the universe, the universe follows it's own logical processes. If God created the universe, he too is a slave of logic and processes. It seems that he cannot create without space, gravity and time.
MacCantStopMe:
1. I specifically mentioned a BMW. BMW does make amphibious vehicles.

2. Those cars that float are amphibious vehicles. They are not called cars but amphibious vehicles. A car is defined as a road vehicle.

I specifically set a trap for him so that I could see if he could follow logic. Rather than follow the sense, both you and him went into semantics.
Go siddon in a corner somewhere jor angry angry angry

You set a trap that you yourself got caught in and now you're trying to wriggle out free of it, moving goal posts and pitifully trying to make fetch happen

Has the world come to an end yet? Has innovation, invention and knowledge stopped, hmm? Have we reached the plateau, so that there can never or ever be BMWs that float in water and/or travel in water. If you really were as one tenth as logical and smart, as you want to believe yourself to be, you would have thought of covering and blocking all escape avenues, instead of trying to use some cheap dishonest means to gain leverage and mileage in the discourse. Always changing goal posts and doing cunning cunning, just as some dishonest scientists and big PHARMAs do

Oh oh, so you too found it funny, having being caught in broad daylight with your hand in the cookie jar. Pesin wey ṣhit no dey remember, nah the other pesin wey clean up the ṣhit dey forever remember, lol. You contradicted yourself there, lol.

I never saw it as 'my dreams coming true', not until I read the above comment. Anyway I still don't see it as such. And it's not as if when I have these dreams they tend to have any bearing on my dealings in the actual places. They don't do anything at all.
Please oo, dont think we dont read content posted here carefully. We note down everything, including every jot and tittle, lol.

aadoiza:
I believe dreams that actually come true should convey a meaning, or affect one's life.
It does, which is why, I previously said something like this is a gift. It is a gift that needs in the right way and manner, be cultivated and/or nurtured, while also in the right way, be stimulated, developed, strengthen and advanced

aadoiza:
I did these a lot growing up
Talking about how we've stopped having certain weird and/or violating dreams angry angry angry

In the very long long long past ago, I used to ocassionally have dreams, where in it, I am having sensual lovemaking etcetera activities with a faceless opposite sex, that then, funnily enough I used to enjoy having them dreams when they do occur. Mind you, I never, didnt nor dont crave for it, but when it does happen, I didnt mind it, lol, but then, suddenly, boom, one day, of course, after coming to my right senses that is, I was sleeping, and in a dream, I found myself about descending into this again, having sensual lovemaking etcetera activities with some seductive, physically attractive, sexually suggestive faceless opposite sex, at the moment of about entering the dream proper, I just in a forceful way, while sleep in my sleep, put my foot down, and said to myself, "No, no way, I am not going in there, I dont want any of that ..." and that's being the end for me, of ever having any episodes of that kind of bizarre dreams. It stopped and I havent had any reapeats or reoccurence again since then. Good riddance to bad rubbish angry angry angry

aadoiza:
Well, it's still OK. Lemme tell you another style lol. It's in contrast to the emboldened. In this case, I always kinda forced my consciousness into my nightmares sorta. And I want to believe this is what ended nightmares for me as it was effective that bad dreams didn't scare me anymore.
I never had nightmares that I could remember I have had. The closest to nightmares I had, for me, will be those seductive dreams, which I've put an end to. Thank God for that, lol

aadoiza:
Although it's been a long while I did it.

This is how I did it: whenever I had a really terrifying nightmare with an unacceptable sticky ending for me and I woke up, I would immediately go back to sleep focusing on the ending of the nightmare from which I'd just woken up and projecting a desirable ending from my consciousness into the impending continuation of the same nightmare. It was my absolutely effective antidote to nightmares back in the day, and it made me grow stronger in the face of very bad dreams until nightmares and I became parallel lines.
Once I wake up, I dont re-dream the dream. It's gone, lol

aadoiza:
This could have been a gift, who knows. I don't know if I can still pull it off.
It is a gift, that as I've earlier mentioned, ought to be cultivate and grow up the right way

aadoiza:
I think this ability might have facilitated my little success in astral projection/lucid dreaming pursuit a few years back. Having read some articles on AP and that many couldn't project in their first few tries, I decided to try, and after a few minutes of concentration off I went. Now that I'm thinking about it I think it really did.
Dreams, should be natural, not be forcibly assisted by or induced with astral projection and whatnot. Things like that will only pervert the gift and destroy a good gift angry angry angry

aadoiza:
I hope so
There is an aphorism, we usually say in IT, and that is, a skill not used, is a skill lost. Replace skill, in there, with good gift, lol

Adakintroy2:
There is no paradox there. You reason limits you. If am omnipotent and ominiscience. I can sleep and stay awake at thesame time. I can do anything. Logic will logically not apply to me since I created logic in the first place.

I can make a car float through the atlantic. However illogical it is to you its not to me. A fire may be destructive to other men at on instance and I can make it not destructive to others. Am ominipotent. Again logic is your tool to shape your reasoning. Not mine. Am not shape by reason rather I decide what can be reasonable at any point and at anytime. That's why they call me ominipotent and omiscience. Man of war. Prince of peace all the contradictions exist in me. I am what I am.

paxonel:
It will take time for Christians to understand that these rapture and hellfire beliefs are all scam, fictional and are never literally presented in the bible but are simply misunderstanding of scriptures by the ancient Roman catholic church of the 6th, 7th and 8th century
And if anyone today who have understanding dig deep into what they actually mean in the bible, he will see a totally different concept and have a positive mindset.

By this, hell fire simply mean death(second on death described in the book of revelation).
That simply means the individual will die.

Rapture?
That one is not found anywhere in the bible.

And also, there is nothing like end time.
This world will last forever, no end.

Let religion doctrines go and rest they wount succeed, humans are more intelligent.

Ok. But I still think the previous post would pass for a scientific explanation.
It does, and its part of the pieces in the jigsaw puzzle, lol

aadoiza:
And no, its not trance. Its not vision. Its not any New Age guff. Its just good o' God-given, natural dream.
agree with that its a God given dreamer gift.

aadoiza:
I'm not particularly sure it's a gift as I don't see events that I haven't happened nor do I see an august visitor coming. In fact, MuttleyLaff, my dreams don't come true.
What does "my dreams dont come true" mean? You've earlier said in the two below reproduced quotes, that you find yourself in those places days after in reality.

aadoiza:
Your exquisitely wrought delineation of such dreams is certainly appreciated, but not satisfactory.
if such dreams are predicated only on hankering and past experiences your explanation would have been greeted with satisfaction. But I have had such dreams even without plan or intention of going anywhere in subsequent days or weeks.

You know what's strangest about it all? The places I see in these foretelling dreams always turn out more accurate in reality than those places already known to me as seeing in dreams.
aadoiza:
Perhaps you could explain to me why I seldom see places i have never been to in my dreams and only to find myself in those places days after in reality.

aadoiza:
Most of my dreams appear to be deleted from my mnemonic data just at the point of awaking from sleep. So seeing a few places in dreams before actually going there in the flesh can't be a gift.
I have dreams like that too, where upon waking up I am unable to remember the dream I had when sleeping though I knew I had a dream. It got to a point, I realise or know I am dreaming, and didnt want to wake up into reality because I so much was enjoying the dream. I remember knowing I was dreaming and in my consciousness I didnt want to wake up yet until I got to doing a particular thing in the dream.

Also, sometimes during have a dream while sleeping, if I have gotten woken up, i find myself telling off whoever it was that woke me up, because in the dream I was about doing something exciting, but the waking up cancelled that then.

Another thing, is I might be having a beautiful dream, but if I need to check the time or something else, like use the toilet for a pee, I wouldnt wake because I dont want to lose the dream, as that's what happens when I do wake up. I havent dreamt for a long time now.

Sometimes, I am dreaming about something exciting and consciously in parallel to having the dream, I am telling myself dont forget the dream, dont forget the details in the dream when you wake up, lol. I even try to force memories of what I am dreaming into my consciousness, but nine times out of ten, when I wake up, I still wont remember what dream I had, lol

aadoiza:
And to what end if it were a gift?
It is to good ends.
Not for selfish, not for money-grubbing, not for self-serving, not for self-seeking, not for out for what one can get because of it purposes ends
