Jobs/Vacancies / Re: 9 Jobs You Can Do While Waiting For Your NYSC Posting by MuyiGL: 7:10am On Mar 08, 2017
PatzHomes:
Lets be realistic and practical. Although all the aforementioned are good but they require special skills and getting such jobs are rare.

Translation; for who? Online tutoring; to who? With which network? Graphic design,; who teach you? How many people sabi am? Transcription; ok naa etc

Pls while waiting for service, kindly go to private schools and teach. You will be easily employed as most small private schools are looking for cheap labour. You manage it as it also boosts your CV.

Bottom line, if u have the skills for the above, go ahead. But if you don't, don't be disappointed, just go to a school and apply.

I think the list is very realistic. Proteach and prepclass for example are Nigerian platforms and they can connect you to home tutoring jobs in the country, as long as you can teach. Asuqu is also a Nigerian platform. All these things are happening and working in Nigeria. Let's not limit ourselves

The above is just too difficult to do, as for me my service is by november, so am teaching in a private skul where there are paying me only 10k. But i thank God sha.

You can get home teaching jobs that will pay better on some of the platforms listed by the OP

I think the list is very possible in Nigeria. A lot of the platforms mentioned like Prepclass, Switch and Asuqu are Nigerian platforms. Don't close your mind to possibilities that are staring you right in the face

You just didn't name Dr Sid's album as one of the "greatest" did you?

See ehn, Don Jazzy is probably the greatest business man in the Nigerian music industry. He knows his business well and we all respect him for that. But please and please, he sure as hell ain't the "greatest" music producer.

Lolz, can't blame wikipedia jare, the guy looks 46. But wikipedia is an authourity so they should have confirmed Don Jazzy's age before that publication. If he is claiming to be 32 then that is what should be published.

Wikipedia is not an "authority". It is a crowd sourced resource, meaning anybody, including you can update, edit, remove info from Wikipedia.

Just visit your Local govt they'll issue it to you. I got mine with L.G.A. identification just with N200each.(the paper is very old,u might thought it was issued on dat very day u were born).

NB:Where's Xcelsia, plz someone should tell her I want to hear/read her post.

Thank you. Really? They issue it deliberately with old paper? Does that mean I get to claim any age I want or there's a process for fact checking it?

In Nigeria anything is possible. Even aliens can get birth certificates. Lol

Just go to a court close to you and get an affidavit. You can use it in place of the birth certificate

Thanks but I don't want an affidavit. I want a birth certificate

I was wondering, Is it possible to obtain a birth certificate 15 to 20 years after birth? If so, how does one go about it? Thanks

Romance / Can Women Be Friends With Their Exes, "No Strings Attached" ? by MuyiGL: 8:24am On Nov 23, 2014
I'm just wondering if it's actually possible for a woman to be friends with her ex, while in a serious relationship with another man, without it leading to unexpected outcomes like she reviving old feelings and ultimately cheating on her current man with her ex? I understand women to e more emotional than logical. The average woman will say there are "no strings attached" but even if she doesn't mean to, she is most likely to end up cheating.

I just want to know people's opinions on this issue, especially the women themselves.

ObamaUS: Most of his films are of good production quality but the story line is always crap..The other one he released,"Figurine" was so hyped that one couldn't finish watching it because it was just very uninteresting..
Hope this turns out better

Maybe if you had bothered to finish watching it, you would have seen how awesome a movie it is? (No spoilers)

Entertainment / Re: Mtn Project Fame Or Idols: Which Has The Best Products? by MuyiGL: 1:37am On Sep 22, 2013
And please, Dare's Project Fame was the SA version. There were 16 contestants; 9 from SA and 7 from the rest of Africa. Dare and some Hausa girl who's name escapes my memory represented Nigeria. That Project Fame is very very different from this MTN one we all see now oh abeg. MTN's version can't even rub shoulders with the one Dare came 3rd in, of which he was cheated. Abeg people should get their facts right. Stop claiming glory that doesn't belong to MTN Project Fame
Entertainment / Re: Mtn Project Fame Or Idols: Which Has The Best Products? by MuyiGL: 1:30am On Sep 22, 2013
Afam4eva: I'll give it to Project fame cos they have Iyanya and Chidinma, who are established musicians in their own rights. The only person worth mentioning that was a product of Idols is Omawunmi. I don't think Timi has done well.
You don't think Timi Dakolo has done well? WTF! When you people don't listen to lyrics and vocals, just beats, why won't you utter such abomination. Same reason Iyanya had to switch from his R&B to pangolo music just to stay relevant, because people like you were just ignoring him back then.
In case you don't know, Timi Dakolo has arguably the best vocals in the whole if Africa and his.music contains some of the deepest lyrics you can ever think of on the Nigerian music scene. Just listen to his Beautiful Noise album. Just because he's not giving you the mindless beats you love to dance to doesn't mean he's not doing well.
Also, the Idols Timi and Omawumi participated in is very different from the Idols of now. Theirs was West African Idols, fully sponsored by Multichoice. Right after that great show they handed the production over to crappy management and renamed it Nigerian Idol. Y'all should get your facts right

That means that men and women shouldn't mix either. I just proved beyond doubt that heterosexuality is wrong and against nature.

Where do I collect my Nobel prize?

Phones / Re: BBM Would Be Available On Samsung Galaxy Devices On September 19th For 3 Months by MuyiGL: 11:29pm On Sep 16, 2013
HAH: If we are Blackberry Coy we will allow androids to go through BIS, where they will shrink data and share income with service providers, in a nutshell they will turn to be a the engine room of androids internet connection.

Cool money without worrying about phones and tabs. The more you browse the more they make money.

A win-win

It can't work that way. The current graphics rendering on Android and iOS devices makes it impossible to use an official implementation of BIS data compression on these phones. When people load BIS plans on their Android and Apple devices, there's actually no data compression taking place, just direct access to the raw data allowance made available by our network providers on BIS plans. Ever questioned why BB10 devices don't work with BIS?

nwanna89: How will we add contacts? Since samsung phones dont have BlackBerry pins...

It's not like PINs are a hardware thing, they're just randomly generated unique identification numbers. So it's not something any other phone can't handle. that being said, you will add users on non-BB phones via email, SMS and NFC. Kanji ko?

DIYTechnologies: What is it with this BBM sef? I don't know why other options such as Googletalk, Windows Live Messenger, whatsapp etc, don't even get a second look for instant messages, even though this options are available on most OS on mobiles. I have a feeling this move by samsung is primarily intended to cut a larger share of the smartphone market in Africa.

Em... last time I checked, Whatsapp has more than double BBM users worldwide

Gaming / Re: The First Game You Played? by MuyiGL: 11:43pm On Sep 13, 2013
Emmyk: Sega Games (Family con). Awa daddy bought it for us in 2001. cheesy

Mario was the first game I played.

And in 2002, my first encounter with Game Boy Color (yellow). Usinq two 1.5V batteries. My brother and I would dry the battery in hot sun and re-use, buy batteries almost everyday. We fought so many times over this game. The only catridge we had was soccer, and it was hell of fun!

Soccer was the second game.

Here is the picture of the gameboy color.

So, how about you?

Sega is not Family Com.

People that are concluding that she's not as strong as she has led us to believe, or that she's seeking attention, I don't know if English is the problem. She specifically typed:
"I've bin here b4 n I can tell u we stronger Dan our problemz/painz/Etc**"
BEFORE. Meaning it could have been many years ago, maybe her uni days.
"That day I realized SUICIDE iz for COWARDZ"

THAT DAY. It's written in plain English. *Sigh*
Romance / Re: Ladies, Have You Ever Asked A Guy Out ? by MuyiGL: 6:38am On Aug 11, 2013
lorretta u: Most guys would like a lady to ask them out so that they can brag to their friends how one slutty girl is throwing herself all over him.
And encourage him to 'knack' her. In their voice it goes "guy no dull o. See free punni. Guy no fall my hand o."
All these ones waiting for a lady to ask them out,lol you're in for a loooong wait.in this jungle of no gentlemen u really expect a girl to throw her dignity at ur feet just like that?
Truth is that it doesn't matter.and it's a bit admirable.
But problem is with the attitude of men. So many girls will NEVER take that chance,
Unless of course I find myself in yankee.
Sorry dudes.for now y'all gotta be doing the chasing. wink

"If you find yourself in Yankee"? And what makes these Yankee men any different from men all over the world?

Celebrities / Re: Oprah 'suffers Racism' In Zurich Switzerland by MuyiGL: 6:57pm On Aug 09, 2013
Why must she be racist? Why can't she just be an a**hole? Oh yeah, everything has to be about race right? I mean I experienced this same thing at the hands of a fellow Nigerian. I was shopping at an expensive store, I had the money but maybe not the look to match it at the time, and the store assistant treated me as a pest, a fellow Nigerian. Was she racist too?
As far as I know, this lady does not know who Oprah is (they don't get to watch her show in their country) and she may have been trying to offer unsolicited financial advice.
Not disputing the fact that racism still exists. I'm just wondering if we ever allow ourselves consider other possible interpretations to these people's actions?
