The question is how did that jobless person get access to FRSC's twitter account? Because that's where the rumour started from

Y'all should read the write-up well. MI is not trying to potray anger. He's trying to create an awareness of our terrible state of denial. So much so that a foreigner had to remind us.

kulyie: Y do nigerians get angry when d truth is being said,ok is it a lie dat d majority population in nigeria is poor, hungry and strugling,is it a lie dat majority of nigerians are not educated,is it a lie dat nothing is done about women and children who get raped everyday,d truth of d matter is dat because we ignored and did not do anytin about dis issues,a stranger came and pointed our attention to it so y is mi now whinning.i am not a fan to both musicians but theres a yoruba proverb dat says if there are no holes on d wall,d lizard will not enter.if we (nigerians) put nigeria (our home) in order,no foreigner will come to nigeria and make a video out of us so instead of whinning because some foreign rapper told u d obvious truth, lets work on what he said and screw wherever he is comin from.gosh! NIGERIANS STOP CELEBRATING DECEPTION.if a foreigner came here and told u what u want to here,u wont whine.mshewww

Webmasters / Why Should I Get A Com.ng Domain In Favour Of .com? by MuyiGL: 11:11pm On Aug 31, 2012
Guys, I've observed that most of the major private firms in Nigeria hardly use the .com.ng extension, is there a reason why? I ask because I've observed that most sites that come with the .ng extension sometimes seem to have issues. Any reason fro this? I want to get a domain name but not sure which extension I should use. Any valuable adivce? Also where is the best place to get .com.ng domain names in case I decide to use them? Thanks

Paul John: If they're so famous, it shouldn't be until I google them before I know what significant thing they've done.
We would have been taught about them in social studies when we were in basic(primary) school cool
Like Amina of Zaria, Mother Teresa ...

My thought though

Good thing you said we should have been thought. In case you don't know, Nigeria is one of the few countries I know who don't seem to take pride in their history serious. We hear of people like Lord Lugard before we even know who Moremi was. The government does not do enough. In fact if you Google's these women you may not find out enough because none of the younger generation know enough about them. And who puts all these things on Wikipedia and all over the internet besides those from the younger generation?

shadrach77: this is very silly! how did it make it to the front page?  shocked shocked - itunes is an international organisation and has always been available to all countries including Nigeria - just because you (the poster) was not aware of this does not negate the fact - moreso, there are several Nigerian artistes on itunes including Paul Dairo, King Sunny Ade, 9ice, Femi Kuti, Tosin Martins etc.  angry angry cool

Mr before you go around insulting people make sure you know what you're talking about. Before this was posted, had you been able to download any music from these artistes you mentioned on the iTunes store? had you been able to download anything at all without using a fake US account?

Technology Market / Where To Buy The Kindle Or Kindle Touch (not The Kindle Fire) In Lagos by MuyiGL: 8:52am On Jul 27, 2012

Technology Market / Anyone Know Where I Can Buy The Kobo Wireless Reader? by MuyiGL: 5:38am On Jul 27, 2012
Guys I was doing a research for really cheap ebook readers that support eink technology and I came across the Kobo wireless reader. It supports ePub and PDF and I already have loads of ePub books I read on my android phone, plus a few PDF books on my PC. I also want to believe it might support ebook.com books as I have an account where I buy books from there. I was amazed when I found that the reader ranges in price from about N6400 to N11200 off the self. Abeg, is there anywhere in Lagos or even Nigeria I can get this reader? All the online shops I see only shop to US. I would rather have such a reader rather than the overpriced Amazon Kindle that only lets you buy books from Amazon. I'd appreciate if no one told me I could deceive Amazon into thinking I'm from the US or whatever. I don't care; I already have an ebook.com account and I can read all books I buy from them on as many range of devices (PC, Android, iPhone etc) as possible. Thanks in advance.

Education / Re: Flogging Children In School And At Home: Good Or Bad? Whats Your Take? by MuyiGL: 7:27pm On Jul 08, 2012
black_beau: Unfortunately, africans don't seem to realize that our temparament and behaviour is different ffom that of the americans. The same thing that would make an american cry would not really faze an african.so,when I see nigerians copy americans unnecessarily, its annoying. Flogging is one of the best ways to correct the nigerian child. For those of you saying communication and interaction works better,I'd like to ask you this question: was there ever a time when you did something wrong as a kid and your parents corrected you with a speech and later, you were faced with the same situation, pls can you tell us your reaction? I'm sure you said to yourself, let me do it afterall, all my parents will do is to talk. Anyway,I was caned as a kid and I'm happy because it has helped shape my life a lot. As for my kids,I will cane them to discipline them but the key is to know when to cane and when to hold back.

You are sure? Bro don't speak for me. My dad had his ways of getting the best out of us. Flogging was there but it was rare. In only very extreme situations. There are ways my dad would say things, or punish us that when faced with the same situation, the thought of what he would say or do if you did it again would make you have a serious rethink. Check my earlier comment
Education / Re: Flogging Children In School And At Home: Good Or Bad? Whats Your Take? by MuyiGL: 7:18pm On Jul 08, 2012
There's a very thin line between disciplining a child and abusing a child. Sadly many Nigerian parents these days abuse their children under the pretext of disciplining them. Take for example the woman I saw on the road with her 3 year old kid. The boy was struggling to catch up with her with his small legs and when she was about to cross the major road he was still far off. She dragged him closer and beat the hell out if him, calling him a stupid boy. Or the woman in the bus with her son who keeps dozing off in Tue bus, probably tired from a long day, and she keeps slapping him? Would you say any if these are disciplining their children? True discipline requires wisdom and balance. I can count how many times my parents flogged me growing up and I still turned out right. He only beat me at times when it was really necessary. There were many other punishments that hurt more than caning. Just like someone nicely pointed out, some of the agberos on the streets went through the same 'disciplined' training but they didn't turn out right. How is flogging a child gonna help him do better in school. If you've flogged him for years and he still did bad at school, wouldn't it make sense to honestly find out what is going on in his life? Only God can train our children for us. I'm not saying flogging children is wrong, my parents flogged me. But we must learn to strike a necessary balance and not take misguided 'disciplinary' actions.

BIS-blackberry internet service...so how are you using a BIS on a n android fone?

Oh yes. With Airtel you get to use BIS plan on ur android. Plus u can share all that 'unlimited' data with ur friends by porting ur phone as a hotspot. A BB can't do that
Phones / Re: Blackberry 10 BBM Images Leak by MuyiGL: 1:04pm On Jun 28, 2012
texazzpete:

Why don't you folks just pay for a full 24/7 data bundle on your Android and stop complaining?

Airtel and Etisalat are around N8k per month for 8GB data bundle, and you get to use your android device as a portable hotspot.

The advantages of using an Android phone can easily outweigh the extra 5k per month you spend on your data...and you can share it with other devices.

Of course, RIM still has the BBM as the 800lb gorilla in the room. developing countries LOVE BBM.

But please, people should not come here to sell the idea of Blackberries being cutting edge technology. Their relatively archaic OS and stale hardware is the reason why RIM is dying today.

Thank you by brother. I even forgot about hotspot tethering. A BB is useless with all that 'unlimited' data if u can't share it with others

KINGwax: exactly what i was expecting u to say. That is true. Very true. To me, most androids are for show considering d way u go through the system for simple tasks and d way it eats up data bundle. But aside pinging, there's nothin a BB can do better than my symbian

Just say u don't understand how to use android. we will teach u

Pa22:
Please,What are the internet bundles like in android phones? Can one download 1gigabyte or more in a day & not cry out loud off being ripped-off ? Cheap plans bro. That's why folks are still using BB!

There is actually a 1gig plan. Is it our fault all the networks are ripping us off with their data bundles because they favour bbs as more Nigerians have bbs?
Phones / Re: Blackberry 10 BBM Images Leak by MuyiGL: 12:38pm On Jun 28, 2012
Billyonaire: The internet package modules can virtually be tailored to network, in a lay word, I could say, pay $3000 to MTN and you browse for a whole month, but with my Galaxy Note, 1000 gives me 200MB of data which is exhausted in a day while streaming youtube but same youtube on BB, you still have 1 full month. Need I say more, email arrives at BB servers before hitting your mail server. Lets talk about IMAP and POP protocols, I hardly can configure my domain email to work with android without goint through a lot of manual configurations and the system refreshes itself every 5 minutes to upload new emails but BB is instant even before getting to mail servers, infact there are many features I cant start comparing now, but with BB, my Galaxy Note is just for a show....

Which email client are u using? The native android browser. Are you aware Android doesn't presently support IMAP. So if it's Yahoo mail ur using u would always have to do manual configuration. To solve that problem all you have to do is download the official yahoomail app for android. works like a charm. Gmail already comes installed with all androids so that one isn't a problem. But if you want a client that groups all ur email accounts in an organised format like the blackberry email client, all you need do is download K9 Mail. It works with multiple email accounts from any server u could possibly think of. It has colour coding for diff accounts. You will find it more useful that blackberry's email client. So with N1000 a month I get multiple email accounts whereas with BB I have to do the N3000 option to get multiple emails. Plus why would u site YouTube streaming as an example. And are you aware there is also a 1gig data plan at N3000. I hope you reply sha I like to argue with guys who know what they are saying. Just make sure u try K9 mail before u reply.

Billyonaire: Which part of the grammar do you not understand, the "Business" or the "Enterprise" ? ....judging by OS I will say, symbian, Androids, iOS ....I give it to BB....it was a pricy toy for the rich and very educated in the past, the likes of Obama and the rest....when mass production came, the price came down ...and the haters grew....this life...people even hate technology...cos people they hate love it...

You still haven't answered my question. Is it the instant email notifications that BB has that other platforms don't have? Or document editing or what? The only catch for BB now is BBM. And that's because it's the largest mobile community in the world. But that's no business solution if you ask me.
