Goodluck sed delegates shouldn't sell their votes when I'm sure someone woulda bribed them on his behalf.
Meanwhile, Atiku is busy lying.

Jonathan and all in government are fo.ols and God will allow the devil punish them 4 not taking the bull by the horn against these terrorists!! Wat have they done about those Jos bombers? NOTHING!! Now they r callin FBI. In a few months wikileaks will reveal that the FBI identified the bombers but adviced the Nigerian govt to ignore the 'highly placed murderers' for the greater good. Our destiny is in our hands alone.
Politics › Re: Nigerian Muslims Lets Wake Up Before Boko Haram Hijacks Our Religion by MUZBO(m): 1:07pm On Jan 02, 2011
I think the Yorubas are the most tolerant as regards religion in the whole world. I stand corrected if anyone has any record of any other people who feel at home with the man a Muslim, wife Christian, 1st son Muslim, 2nd son Cele, 3rd son agnostic, daughter Christ Embassy, and yet they all live in peace and celebrate all their festivals together. I have never seen it in any other ethnic group in the world.

Secondly, Yorubas are the most rugged, consistent human rights fighters in Nigeria - Tai, Gani, Falana, Fela, Beko, etc.

Therefore, the Yoruba Muslims should as a matter of urgency lead a campaign against religious terrorism across the nation - organize a million-man march of only Muslims in Lagos, Ibadan, Akure etc to condemn in strong terms all acts of terrorism by fellow Muslims under the guise of Islam. The Hausa Muslims should also organize such marches and rallies in the North. This will send a message to the terrorists that even their Muslim brothers and sisters are against them.

No sacrifice is too much to fight this religious extremism. Violence begets violence.
Smart post. Wish the rally could hold too! I do believe, like someone sed, that cultures influence religion and vice-versa. Yorubas love education by default and knowledge is power! - the power that will make u resist brain-washing by extremists. If the Hausas were that exposed then Boko Haram won't see light of day.

yes!! science and religion share a lot in common, but the impact of science makes it a unique case and it is worth celebrating
yea, but who chooses the point where it becomes the new year?? Why can't Feb 28 be the new year or June 12? Afterall it is d movement of the earth from one point to the other right? Its like any other day really.
Events › Re: Is New Year Overrated by MUZBO(m): 2:21am On Jan 01, 2011
New year day and all d 365 day crap is scientific fact that has been drilled into our psychology and accepted religiously! Why can't 1st of June be the new year day? For the same reason why 1+1 can equal 3 if we were taught to count as 1,3,2,4,5. . .its just one of the few times in life when science and religion share common ground! Its not different from any other day really
Romance › Re: Love Or Respect-Which Is More Important To A (Wo)Man In A Relatnshp? by MUZBO(m): 11:12am On Dec 28, 2010
Respect is something u learn; something u r brought up with but love in almost every case occur naturally. I have met a girl who dint respect her bf, not even her Father but she 'loved' the guy anyway IMO. So I don't think the two should b merged in argument but if I must choose 1 I think respect for one another with take u further than love ever will! These r complex issues true true

Kudos to them, good marketing for the hospital. cheesy
I hope it becomes as routine as it is in the UK, patients just walk in and have this treatment and go home same day(done on out patient basis).
And i do hope they'll be patronised by Nigerian governments instead of sending the kids to India accompanied by 15 govt officials who'll collect $10k allowance each. All these after a press briefing of how the ''good governor'' used his humanity to help the poor child. . . .
Good feat on Nigerian soil, now just a little more encouragement from the government and our health system will take a leap.

It is ignorance of what it really takes to rob a bank that makes 'em say that! When those tube-like security doors won't let you in with an E72 and car keys how then can u call someone from inside the bank to bring in the 9s and AKs? You can give out info about position, number of security guards thru the phone but how will you stick 'em up thru those doors? Maybe when Nokia starts making phone-guns sha!

hmmn, good for them, they can strike till the end of the world. as long as they get more money!

shebi its because they are govt workers,

i hope the judicial workers will get these kind of consideration too, or they are not as important shey? they dont kill/save pple abi?
you people probably need to hear what young lawyers earn.

FYI they pay a lot for their education too. Bar exams cost about 450k now. it costs about 100k per session at the university to secure books and materials for a proper education (most make do with less).

lawschool requires over a million now unless you are prepared to cut corners with your self and needs

lawyers spend 7 years too in the system. with no kobo help from anywhere unlike docs and their uni/ housemanship days
lawyers earn on the average 35k per month upon graduation.!! a lawyer with a job giving him 80-100k a month is at the top of the pile remuneration wise.

my point is: this "VICTIM" posture holds no water. the system is bad true, but to make it seem like they are the worst and suffer the most is laughable
they are in a strong position. our lives are the bargaining chip. good on them. as a matter of fact i believe they should do this strike once and for all and get a sum that will be ok for the next 10 yrs, maybe say 1 million per month. that way we can be a bit assured that we wont repeat this circus next year again

NB: before the strike, if you were to do a general scale of salaries in this country, where would these doctors lie? near the bottom?
Guy I see what u r tryin  do/say but if u r a lawyer in Lagos state then don't waste your time writing story here, just work for the state govt and I know for a fact u will earn beyond ur wildest dreams. Also do not waste your time tryin to make law education expenses look @ par with that of medical education because it won't work; textbooks written by Nigerian professors of medicine sef r more expensive than even international law texts and ironically we know that NO Dr anywhere is taught to practice only in his own environ, its a world wide thing but u can't practice law outside ur shores of training without first being familiar with the laws of that foriegn land! All these have been incorporated in the stresses of medical school so when Drs ask for a seperate salary structure its because they've earned it- developed countries know this for a fact!

No need to get personal guys. . .
@muzbo missd ya too.
I was actually tripped at my own anger at this government, maybe because i'd worked for them before and saw, pepper!!
I know how many months i had to battle to correct my pay grade cos about 20k was always missing from my meagre monthly pay.
I only wish these dirt talking politicians will realise they only govern over the living and place a good premium on health.
Health is much appreciated out here, even in the(some say)rabid manner the conservative government here is going about the spending cuts, the NHS was largely left untouched and infact spending was increased! That is a government that realises the place of health.
@muzbo, if you dey NIja, hurry up carry ya things and move over to where you'd be appreciated and frankly, the UK is still largely short on doctors,i know how many times my department had had to resort to LOCUMS to cover gaps in the rota.At least you wont have to worry about pay, or get depressed watching a patient die knowing there's much you could have done but couldn't do for infrastructural constraints.
Those animals in Government should be fought to a standstill.
They kill local hospitals and run here for minor ailments.EWU, GOATS,LESSER ANIMALS!!
I DEY VESK angry
lmao! I get ur drift and u r quite right as usual. I should come for holidays ASAP and see things for me self then hopefully take the great migration! U know I won't stand 4 for some beaded waist-banded type-happy pranksters talkin crap!
Even tho I understand the grief that these doctors go through with the low wages, late payment and lack of modernized technologies in their facilities, I still believe that their strike was jut selfish and thoughtless.

These doctors have been on strike for months [3, I think]. What effect has their strike had on their patients? Are the nurses with limited medical knowledge seeing to their patients?

This is past ridiculous. Why don't they make it illegal for public employees,
Girl puleasse, keep eating ur macaronni and cheese! U don't know jack about Drs so just stop being annoying! This dumb govt is tryin to mislead the public again and letting the public think its a 75% increment rather its 75% of conmess itself. Lag Drs were collecting about 74% of conmess b4 this so what's with the one percent increase. We aint fooled!! And if u think Dr shouldn't strike to protect their interest then you r also a fool.
reindeer:
I am a doctor and i worked in Nigeria before relocating to the UK some years back, so i know what obtains on both sides.
I tell you there is no other alternative to getting stone heads to hear you.The world expects you to be working for charity while you pay for everything. Its just not possible, you wouldnt say this if your dad was one of those doctors and the money you get for your university education comes from that source.Pay was pitiable, conditions abominable and you are expected to continue working?
Here in the Uk i can predict when my pay comes in each month, i know how much i will collect with no errors, infact i can tell you dates my account will be credited by the NHS for the next 6 months! It is just a pity that the masses will keep suffering like this because they are quiet when politicians are increasing salaries everyday and even stealing to top it all. There should be mass protests. The nigerian politician (and the masses)understand only the language of strikes because they will ignore warnings.
I had been in Nigeria back then during strikes and we still worked day and nights for patients on admission, we just didnt admit new ones, if that isnt enough sacrifice for you then i dont know what will suffice.Let me tell you how bad, because as a doctor back then i couldnt afford paying my rents in ikeja i had to move to ikorodu and commute for 2-3hours to and from work everyday to a general hospital on the island. So dont sit behind your computer and pontificate to me about ''moral'' issues.strikes arent the option and yet you cant think of one ,just one other way of making grievances known.
Its going to keep getting worse i see.about 70 of us graduated from my class and over 30 are in the UK now, well employed and getting paid enough for us all to have bought good homes in london within 5years of working. There are about another 20 in the US, out of the remaining some are planning to relocate soon cos of metalities like those of this ileke idi who think docs should continue suffering.
You may  say Nigerian doctors are 'quacks' etc, dont worry, that only means the developed world appreciates these quacks well, fine with me.
The full blame goes to the lame ducks and block heads who only have power cos people allow them to.
Hi there, missed u on this forum because u talk so much sense! Keep it up and keep making the big bucks. Thank God u were smart early enough to leave this hell.
