Friend22:You're wrong fella. You just said the 3 marriages are equal. So what's the basis for settling the 2nd and 3rd wife before the first wife? Besides, there's a lacune in the marriage act, if it abhors multiple wives, yet still permits the man's religious rights in same subject matter. Except, ͏in the marriage act, no other wife will be recognised under same marriage act, until the first one is void. Then for sharing of properties, if all marriages are valid under religion and the law, the precedence should be given to hierarchy. That means the xtian wife gets first. The question now is...should she claim her rights under the marriage act in which she had been married, which gives her 100%? The co-wives will also claim their rights under the religious law...sharing between 2 of them. The man didn't leave an estate, but he did the right thing. He married everyone the right way so as to have equal benefits in his life and death. Furthermore, in matters of a deceased, the constitution is above customary law...only for the living, is customary honoured. In this case, its already simple. The court will share as equal as possible, and first wife chooses first. If the first wife wasn't married under the act, the court can still grant her right of first pick, because it has always advocated for legitimacy of marriage under the act. To top it more, some customary marriages do not give inheritance to women...it's given to their male offspring....or shared among the living male siblings. So the Muslim wives may even lose out on the inheritance tussle. |
She has a point for old billionaire money in industrial Nigeria...but not this new millennium technology money. Billion is a big number sha...but I know millionaires in hundreds of million, do exist with the rags to riches story...even in Nigeria. |
rowland545:TGIF |
Now this is a more believable narrative. |
jessylaurel:Barrister cum psychologist...you do have valid points of observation. I guess that's the same angle @magnolia was tryna highlight earlier. Why did she lie...fear? Fear of what...your reaction? What reaction....these reactions up here. |
Crucialgem:Good point. He's probably a Mr Clean Man, and a Mr Rules and Regulations.....but doesn't justify an adult that loves you, lying to you. The love should make him correct whatever fears she has that makes her lie. We've seen your imperfections, but we must be better. Stop being understanding and accepting your partners for who they are...you two must work towards being better partner for each other. |
Tightpussy2024:Your mum doesn't buy snacks on her way back from market; eats it alone, and lie about it when found out. If she can lie to you and still gaslight you...how can you trust her word tomorrow? You'll always be doubting whatever she says...cos now you know she's capable of lying to you. You should be afraid of lying to your babe...he/she should be your safe space...no room for games. What is an adult afraid of to make her lie dat kind petty lie? She wan chop clean mouth...so that she go act broke and hungry to bill the guy, meanwhile she don codedly flex indomie and egg. Selfish parasitism. |
Ayomide11111:What type of thinking is this? You're not responsible for the choices another adult makes...even as her husband. Its a complex world, one can always create/find an angle to justify a wrongdoing, |
E be like say you dey date my ex. At a point, I had to tell her that I don't even know if her name was her real name. Coz omooo, lie just too much. |
What reason was given? |
EreluRoz:That's an unmistakable act of love. If the lady likes you, you won't have to force it...she'll be dedicated to you...and simp to you in her own way; same with a man. He will do some unconventional things to make you happy. Not because it makes sense...but just to make you happy and at ease. Unmistakable. If any guy or gurl is still calculative around you, still withholding, and/or you have to pressure their commitment to you....🚩🚩🚩 |
CyrusVI:You can't learn everything by experience...you won't live long enough to learn it all. Street OT is essential at a young stage, to guide against this kinds of experience |
It's good we are talking bout it here. Let's speak against it to the ears of govt. That bill should be stepped down. What does it aim to accomplish in the Nigerian educational sector? Whoever sponsored the bill should come and explain to Nigerians. |
I thought as much. There's definitely an agenda. Most of us wrote our waec at 16/17. And got admission at 18. This mumu Nigerian law eh...legislators go just wake up one day, dey pass irrelevant bills. Who is complaining about the age of a student...as long as they can cope with the teachings. True true....this law is absurd. |
Zico5:Are you judging his person or the merits of the institution. Did it follow due process...if yes, his age or academic and entrepreneurial profile isn't a factor. He is the OWNER. ...and Proprietor. Not the VC, or any administrative/academic position. Owner and Proprietor means thst he is the financial benefactor/beneficiary and the c-in-c of the institution...that's all. He can always outsource management. |
Confused wokies. Your "husband" cheated on you with a real woman, and you decided to cut off your genitals, to replace it with what...a hole? Whats the depth, what's the endpoint...where does it connect to inside your body? Weak human...you think that young fine man you call your husband doesn't know the difference between real pxssy and your whatever-d-fork- the doctors gave you. I tot gaaays prefer the butt...why you getting fake poocy for another person to enjoy, while you cringe in pain. Confused BUNCH! |

id4sho:Which depression? Person wey just release hot new album that's banging from week one...where the depression wan come from? |
EmekaBlue:I no understand...who price market? The guy is attractive already...she should pay more cash to get him to sleep with her...prolly dash her one billion sperm cellz in the process, make she sef born fyn pikin |
Things have gotten so bad in this country that you can easily get most ladies for peanut. People are broke out there...and young ladies are under undue pressure...guys no dey pick like before, market women no dey give on credit again. Na only 15k POS jobs dey Nigeria now. It's really not easy o. Some people, esp ladies, are working for pennies that anyone can entice them with small change. Even street gan rough for runs gurls |
chiedu7:Worse implies that it is in a bad state, but not gotten to the higher degree of worse. So the prayers of the saints have not yet transformed the nation from bad to good...it has just been maintaining the Bad status quo |
How are Muslims any better with their morning Allahu Akbar? Or the Oro people with their harassing night activities? |
Since 2weeks..na now police dey identify her/him officially |
RenaissanceGuy:At what point in the history of the world, was this ever true? |
Hyenas can only overpower a female lion...and I wonder why. But no matter their numbers, they always dread a male lion...watched it severally on National Geographic |
Okoroawusa:What's the justification for destroying the building? Is the building a factor in kidnap? Govt just makes irrational laws...and y'all pick and choose. |
That onitsha has one of the highest number of storey building clusters I've seen in Nigeria. Perhaps, based on the soil composure, it is durable, profitable and viable to build storeys. I've wondered how life would be, living in one of such storeys...climbing multiple staircases everyday...ah! No be every process person go grow through. Some phases are gracious to jump through. I don't think I can live in such building. |
If destroying alcoholic beverages is an economic sabotage, what about destroying houses/buildings used as kidnappers' den/hideout. How is it justified? ...and it seems to be a common practice in the East especially. |
Truer truths were never told. Pre COVID-19, they were preaching faith, grace, seed, sacrifice....After covid tested all their faith, they've ALL started to preach Hardwork...plus prayer. Church people keep hoping and praying for breakthrough. Imagine if we had started business since our university days...how many student entrepreneurs you knew in your set are broke today ![]() Pray...coz life pass you. Work Hard, knowing that your life's outcome is in your hands. |
