i thought I was the one that noticed this.the more of selection is very very flawed. They only select people from rich homes or those who are already big in their own right and just have the ambition of getting bigger. mostly those already in the entertainment industry just looking for extra fame.eg them uti,Melvin oduah,Beverly osu,Goldie.and for the few out of the industry that are selected its people with cars,big ass careers and living on the island.its sad. i dont agree that the yorubas are the problem of nigeria. I believe hausa/fulani are the problem. The yorubas have however refused to be the solution. I will point out what i mean.
1. They could have struck an accord with ojukwu in 1966 when they opportunity presented itself to either secede as western region or to join with eastern region as one united south nigeria republic.

2. The obj led administration of 1976 to 1979 could have done more to desimate the northern influence in the nigerian polity with a southern-favoured 1979 constitution. He didnt. Instead he handed over to shehu shagari when Awolowo and zik contested the same election.

3. The yorubas from 1967 to 2007 where either head of state or vp (minus the brief period Ekwueme and Ebute Ukiwe held the post). In what way have they helped to bring Nigeria from the dregs? Even the pride of Nigeria which is lagos (which is their sphere of influence) is littered with shanties and dirt, making it one of the worst cities to live. MMI airport is filled with yorubas who make travel very difficult for the average nigerian.

I would say that the reason no tribe has ever been able to successfuly challenge the ever backward hausa/fulani tribe is because they are backed by the yorubas. That is why yorubas will tell u (and rightly so too) that Nigeria is still one only because of them.

With the amount of hydro carbon in Nigeria and without the backward hausa/fulani tribe, Nigeria's major indices should be something like this at the minimum;

GDP Nominal: $780 Billion
Population: 140 Million
Per Capita Income: $5571
Life expectancy: 68 years
HDI: 0.675
