Experienced mamas please help out,I'm a FTM currently 35 weeks +,I'm trying to watch what I eat cos dis is the time baby weight multiples,please what food should I avoid or eat less now. Secondly,I've been practising my kegals well,and doing some minor exercise to prepare my self for labour and delivery, are there any other things I need to know.I want to prepare myself well...(I'm trying really hard to avoid episiotomy and ease labour pain)

Please I registered in dec @ my ward @ akesan igando(lagos state),which INEC office should I go to collect my PVC? Please anyone that knows where I'll pick my PVC up should let me know, thanks.

I'm sooo excited today,I went baby shopping. @ifefunmi ur post on baby shopping was very helpful. I had my list with likely prices written,so bargained wella. Infact eh,I priced below the price sef, dem shock how I take know all the price of the items. Thanks to all the mamas that helped out with baby list,it was very helpful. I'm a FTM.#team feb/march#

@trendy86 I had irregular cycles too but fertilaid helped correct it in my case. You can also run an infection test,to rule out any infection cos that could also delay periods. I hope this helps.

Mamas I'm planning to go baby shopping soon. Any need to include feeding bottles? I plan on exclusively breastfeeding LO till like 6months.@ ifefunmi tnks dear. U've been so helpful. Good day mamas, just came back from baby things shopping!!! I went with my mum and it was really helpful as I got a very good bargain... Got really nice things and it was well within budget. She was doing the negotiations while I was just ticking off things I have bot! I finally settled for Dr. Brown's diaper.

please can you help out with prices of things you got? And the name of the products. Which market did you go to? Planning on going by weekend.

Big congrats to the new mamas I pray God grant us safe delivery in Jesus name. Amen. I want to ask my ppl am 21wks and each time I visit any of d 2 hospitals am using they only put somefin lyk cup on my tummy n listen to n dats all. Its dis d only check up they do for pregnant women?

my hospital will take blood and urine sample too,then u'll check ur weight and Bp b4 seeing the doctor. The doctor will then check results from the blood and urine samples,if ok. Then she will check ur tummy with the instrument u mentioned. She will also ask u for any complaint. Afterwards u go to the pharmacy to take your antenatal drugs.

Am a first time mum oo. It was God. I dint use general hospital o, it was a private clinic. The nurses were so gentle ND wonderful. May God make it easy for u.

Sabi mamas,techwinnie,Kaffy&Onegai have said it all,all I want to add is my experience, it may be of benefit to someone.. My son and daughter were delivered through CS cos of how things were just meant to be.

1.My son:40weeks,4.4kg
I was in labour for over 12hrs,was about 7-8cm dilated(was strongly advised not to push though to avoid stories that touch)amniotic fluid already drained as well,but he refused to budge, and my husband was "begged" cos it was assumed he may decline to consent to a CS so they could put us out of our misery,my dh wondered why we had to go through so much trauma.
Backstory: I had done a scan the previous day and "CPD" was boldly written on the scan but the Dr decided that since I was a primigravida I should "try" vagina birth first(Its a General hospital so maybe cos there was no personal financial incentive,he wasn't inclined to suggest the sensible course of action).
When I saw the DR during ward round,I asked him why he didn't reccommend CS,he said "cos you are a yoruba first time mom", he said whenever they reccommend CS to yoruba mums,they run to churches!

2.My daughter:37weeks 3.8kg
I was so excited about VBAC cos one of my bosom friends had a successful VBAC,but @ 20-24wks(not too sure) I was made to do FBS and RBS twice cos they suspected macrosomia, I did but blood sugar came out very normal but my UA did record a slightly elevated glucose level. @ 35weeks,my baby was over 3kg already, on the day I got to 37wks I went to get my mat leave form signed,but the Dr asked if I was ready to proceed to the theatre cos I was already full term and will still be sectioned even if I wait till 47wks cos I can't push out above 3kg since I have both CPD&macrosomia!
I asked that it be scheduled for the next day as I wasn't psychologically ready.
I'm exactly 12wks from my lmp (very very sure) gone with NO 3 after a 6yr gap but the scan I did today has added 6days to my LO's GA.

please can you help out with some of the abbreviation you used. CPD,RBS,FBS. Thank you.

it is vry normal my dear. I get tired easily too. I'm 33 weeks gone. Just do the ones you can and do the rest later. Don't stress urself much,but be active. Pls don't bend much too. The lord is our strength.

Goodday mamas, Pls am a January mum and currently 39weeks, since yestday I was having mild menstrual cramps which have migrated( since 4am) to frequent tightening of my uterus with pains in my lower abdomen that spreads to my waist. The pains are quite painful and uncomfortable wen dey come, bt as soon as it fades, I feel relieved for a while then it returns again. Pls experienced mamas could this be Labour? Am a first time mum and am kinda confused. My mum tinks it's early labour. What do u think please?

I tinks it's early labour. Make sure u time the duration of the contractions. Get ur bags and go to the hospital if it progresses. Wishing u a safe delivery.

sometimes it starts frm lyk 8wks. It all depends on body type

@beedam try reading up on perineal massage. It helps prevent epistomy(spellin) and makes way for d baby's head

let me list a little of the things you need. Other mamas would add anything I miss out. Sudocream,mentholata,vaselin,wipes,diapers,pin-ups and over-all,cap and socks,baby powder oil and soap,baby hanger,baby cot,face towel,shawl,flannel,flask,dettol or savlon

Please mama's am about 30weeks pregnant. Iz lipton tea safe to take?

@mytestimony...team march here too. It has not been easy my dear. I'm alwaiz sooo tired dese days...feelin a little pressure dwn dre too atimes. I'm also havin pains underneath my feet too,maybe I need to get a foam slippers. I'm alwaiz dreamin @ nite,not terrifying ones thou,but I alwaiz pray wella in d morning. I get d heart burns too thou nt all d tym. Already counting dwn to my edd...w're almost dre team mates...congrats to all d latest mums in the house...january mamas hope una bag dey door o? God will see us all tru.

you can check d general hospital @ igando.@proudmom38 you are vry ok. Very typical to lose appetite during first trimester. U're even lucky u're nt vomiting. I kept vomting I was scared for my baby. But w're fine now.Jst kip taking ur prenatals. Ur baby is fine.

@mum4all pls don't take any antimalaria drugs except ur test says so...God will giv u double for your troubles...it is well sis @proudmom38 you can run scan @ 14weeks. Atleast by den u'll get to see ur little cutie well. We shall all carry to term and deliver like the hebrew women...AMEN.

@mgeey it is vry normal,maybe u have a small belly burton. I'm about 28wks gone nd my belly burton is jst slightly raised. Even my tummy is not very big...it worries me sometimes,bt my mum said some pple hav small tummy naturally. Doesn't necessarily mean d baby is small.
