agarawu23:Man yi, o ti e le. Baba Mori may not be burgled or assassinated but do you know Baba Lasisi dey service Iya Mori engine while he's away. Baba Mori also need to setup cams and intrusion detection systems not for burglars and assassins but for known enemies. |
When the motion sensor alarm triggers or perimeter intrusion detected, all light goes off leaving only the solar garden lights and all men move to vantage positions. Teddy barks them out while we have some fun. Simple! Brabus

Per adventure Wall of Jericho fell, the enemies have entered one chance because they're exposed to this. Who no sabi hunting? #target practice from vantage position. Psalm 144:1

Truly! ______ The setup is not Radio Biafra. The base station was set in stone. Even a 30 ton dump truck pose no threat. #missionimpossible.

Happy experimentation to those who are experimenting ![]() First, I gat over 300 pounds solar-powered motorized gate and not "ab.oki open am" with welded hinges as the first line of defense against burglar and theft. It's one time setup. No plan to remove or replace until it fails to perform its function. That's not experimenting. Not a single case of theft or attempted theft has ever been reported. Why me worry when it worked? Secondly, the unexposed me ensure there's provision for more than enough setback to the fence and never had to build too close to wall. Least setback is 3m, there are places with 12m and 18m #talkingsecurity That seems like a plan than experiment. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vf64ChAmSvc Brabus |
Miscellaneous:Just yesterday, I had expert roof design company visit one of my site to design a minimal load yet safe and sturdy roof trusses on my structure. We planned using exposed beam trusses in some areas. Brabus

Miscellaneous:Because Naija pros are using it. Meanwhile, the real pros constructing on the Atlantic uses sharp sand. Even Julius Berger (they don't know it all) got dredging site all over Lagos with well treated sharp sand. |
Even a certain popular magician was killed like a chicken with all his black magic, charms and everything without a trace. He that hath hears, let him hear what the spirit is saying. Protection no get "Anti No-Testing" law in Nigeria. Boys wey don watch pirated copies of "Mission Impossible 6" even before it was premiered will mess up any security measure. I gat all security toys (motion alarms, window/door alarm, and so many other intrusion detection gadgets) but I discovered the surest security is from God and having good relationship with your neighbours. The day false alarm was raised in my house, over 100 landlords (trained in every form of defense) came to carry out watch night till day break. #Askthosethatknew Late Bola Ige was killed inside his bedroom even though he had a whole Police station as his gate house. Funsho Williams' (who's got well trained professional bodyguards and securities due to his position as a frontline political aspirant) assassination was clinically done 10 years ago inside his Ikoyi residence. Till morrow, we are still asking "Who killed...? Yet, somebody with "Ab.oki to nja konfu" and "Aja Ode" believes they've not done enough. We are open to learning new things sha. For Naija wey thieves dey write letter to homeowners to inform them of their planned visit. Brabus |

KolaShangOne:Don't mention Apete. I was once off-campus student of The Poly living in Apete. I don't just know Ibadan. I knew the people that holds forte in each constituency. |
KolaShangOne:Do you mean the same Iyangaku GRA where most political assassination in Ibadan happened is one of the most secure areas? It can't be. I schooled in the GRA and I cannot count the number of assassinations and failed attempts that were carried out during that time. Of recent, Bola Amole, the owner of BIMS African Food Store UK was killed there. ________ Alalubosa GRA Don't remind me! I lost a cousin who's a week older than me to those boys who were trying to rob him at gun point inside the estate about 12 years ago. I also lost a friend there too by Alalubosa river which is the escape route. Same thing with NIHORT, Jericho, Onireke GRA, Aleshinloye, Forestry. Those areas are just too silent which makes it easy for those boys to operate. _______ Bodija Estate I can only ask which Bodija is it. Is it Bola Iges? Or Sunday Alalades? Or where Akala's driver was shot dead? Or the regular Kara Mayhem? Or where Mrs Adesiyan (Wife of the Police Affairs Minister) was abducted? Or where a family of 3 who just relocated to Nigeria after 18 years sojourn in Canada were burnt to death few weeks after arriving motherland? Brabus I still wanna know the safest part of Ibadan? |
anikkyshaya: Senior AZUH, pls confirm you see 8!

4nobody4every1:We live in estates. Yet we build high fences and put Abok.is and bingos on guard while paying estate security dues every month. Isn't that madness? Yet we decry rising cost of construction when we are building what we really don't need. I read somewhere yesterday where a Nairalander said he's not building his house for a guest but for his family. Anyone who doesn't like his house shouldn't bother coming. Baba Lati's didn't do that in their time. I grew up in Ibara Housing Estate, Abeokuta. It still so beautiful. Yet no crazy fences and security houses but instead garages and BQs. So it's very unfair to compare Baba Lati's generation with our present generation because one is sensible while the other is gullible. I Brabus |
4nobody4every1:Bros, I grew up with the Baba Lati's of this world. I worked with them and I engage them till of recent. They made me realize this generation lacks common sense and I just found out they were absolutely right. How else can we explain Lekki 1 and VGC without a proper drainage? How else can we explain Epe-VI without an alternative road? How else can we explain the whole of VI-Ibeju without public water but boreholes here and there? Isn't that something only educated illiterates can do? Brabus |
anikkyshaya:Happy Hour!!! Let us sing for you. You're welcome in the name... Sorry, Anikky baby peperempe... |
@ Olapluto, I read your last comment. I'll allow KolaShangOne to do justice to the comment. Meanwhile, it may be worthwhile to let you know that KolaShangOne is from Mokola area. Sabo, Ibadan (Mokola area) is the largest market for stolen items in western region. In fact, you'll meet a police officer at every 2 minutes walk in that area. Do you know the place they call Koto? It's in Mokola. Find out what they do there. |
kolnel:I'm interested in knowing the safest parts of Ibadan. Just list them. agarawu23:You must be a very strong man to survive 18 months. Or maybe youre not a real Lagos town boy |
4nobody4every1:Very correct. Even though Baba Mufu knew their limit and they never attempt to walk on water even though they have faith like water-melon. In the 70s - 80s, only structures built by the river side normally collapse. Who can still remember "Omiyale in Ibadan" in the 80s. Today, we build on waterways, flood zone, swamps for fishing and even block drainages. Baba mufus never do that. Who agree with me that Baba Mufu came from a generation with common sense. Baba mufus will use planks instead of concrete for slab. They'll use carpets (budget class), terrazzo (mid-class) and Marble/Granite (high class) to finish their floors instead of tiles with 2" - 3" layers of screeding. They'll use Super 7 lightweight roofing sheet and lesser wood for roofing instead of "send down the rain" and other complexities we put on ourselves. Brabus |
erico2k2:That corner is called "left inside" It's a feminist corner where people spent time talking about problems instead of fixing them... just like a woman! |
@ nextstep, this is for your next build. Use angle iron trusses instead of H and I-Beams. You won't be facing the challenges you are having presently. Brabus

anikkyshaya:What a good testimony! Welcome to the biggest joint/classroom on Nairaland. The Proprietor will soon be around to give you an induction course on how to swim the murky waters here. Madam, nobody marks English here. If you like you got write for your local language. @ erico2k2, Abeg no put madam for the same class with Mr AZUH o |

olapluto:Do you care to share some of the safe part of Ibadan? I may be interested to know those areas. |
agarawu23:Advance Payment Guarantee This is cool! |
nextstep:You're welcome. I'll send you close-up shot of the fascia cladding once I get it from my picture bank. |
Oga ericko2k2, when did you and Proprietor (Hajji) admit new student (Chairman AZUH) to this college. He's always threatening fellow students with LASTMA. He also said he will beat agarawu23 black and blue after closing bell ring. |
KolaShangOne:Nobody needs a builder if they can carry the liabilities and bear the risks involved. Oga Kola, You're not an authority to mandate it for people to use a builder or professionals. Is it not the same Nigeria where we administer drugs as we like. If all the building bodies sees no fault, why should you Brabus |
@ nextstep, Proposed Solution 4 | Most Economical Run 2 x 3 woods to the wall and get Aluminium fascia cladding like the one we did in the project pic below in 2012. Fix it to the wood on the wall and the top part will be between the beam and the panel. Ensure it is properly fastened together to prevent water and wind. You need a pro for that. I wish Sir Farm1 can share the pics of his house where a similar design was done for him by my installer. It was a perfect job. Oga, hope the thing no give any prob sha? Nairaland data loss of 2014 wiped off a lot of beautiful projects. Brabus
