Well i thot i shld drop this from my archives,I rememba after finishing high skl there was this broad Titi,dark skin,lovely big eyes and nice figure chic opposite our building,I look for every reason to get her attn tho she fronted @ 1st,eventually gave in to listen to what i have to say.My bro has taught me to be well composed and be bold,so i went up to her walked her to where she was goin to and we talked literarily about everything on Earth from westlife songs,to fashion,a lil bit of sex n co.So the next day i saw her walking past,called out her name she responded quite well with a twinkle in her eye,I thought i was so in Love so we chatted again,then she managed to give me a peck for being such a hilarious fella and pretty lively too,the peck felt like gaining admission into Havard,i was in heaven for a bit,waved @ my grandma/did crip walk with the angels,she brought me back to reality by saying to me i guess u can go now b4 her Dad sees me,so i waved @ her and promise to write her a poem,just to express my feelings to her.The next day popped into the stationary store got a nice cute notebook with roses design,went into my mums closet nicked her perfume,sprayed it all over the paper,so it looks special and smells perfect.The sad thing tho my brain went blank,didnt know what to write or where to start from,so i just popped MJ's album Inviscible skipped to Track 8,speechless and tho omitted some words but i wrote the lyrics out and the title of my poem was boldy designed "Speechless". The next day stood in front of our buidling hoping she would pass by so i can give it her,Lo and behold just while i was giving up,she came outta there building wearing a lemon top and orange skirt,My queen has arrived,with my heart beating so fast MJ clda moon walked to it,I went over and handed over my poem well enclosed in a white evenlope,told her to read it and write back @ moi.A day after she sent a friend of mine to hand over a note,in a roughen paper,with anticipation i flipped it open,with my eyes hungry desperately to read it,i got the shock of my life when i saw a big fonts of " YOU ARE A THIEF,STEALING MICHAEL JACKSON SONGS ,YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF".I was so hurt i couldnt step out of our building for days,took me a while to get over it and to think my friends saw the note,they mocked my ass so bad.

Too bad I can't insert a quote of na2day's post. He said that the implication of Matthew 6:16 was that christians have to fast. 'have to fast' means it is obligatory for them to fast, so that was what I was replying to when I said that the verse does not make fasting obligatory. And where, pray tell, does the Bible encourage fasting as a means of spiritual renewal like you said it does?

like i said u have got to have a better comprehension that this, i said clearly, that there is no time table for fasting but christians fast based on needs, it is not that christians must fast but when the need arises, they are encouraged to fast. there is no punishment for not fasting just like there is no law forcing obese folks to lose weight but in their own interest they should. we christians fast in various ways according to how we are led, some fast for days, some fast for hours, some fast by not just staying away from food but also their cell phone, tv etc, all they want is a period of time spent with God and God alone; there is no hard and fast rule to fasting and praying in christianity.  in summary, christians while fasting generally wait upon the Lord God while u muslims generally wait upon the time.

So from the entire Bible, the only part which you could quote to support your claim that christians have been told fast is a verse (Matthew 6:16) that only tells christians that they should not imitate the hypocrites?
That verse does not make fasting obligatory on christians at all. It so doesn't do that. If Jesus Christ prescribed fasting for you then why is there not one single verse that records him clearly doing so? Why does it have to be inferred?
And no. Matthew 17:21 does not show what circumstances demand fasting because that verse is not even original. It was assimilated from Mark 9:29 and it is absent from the Bible translations which were based upon the earliest manuscripts.
And lastly, stop calling people names. Turn the other cheek for crying out loud. When muslims offend you, you don't respond in like manner. You turn the other cheek.

@ post- Don't know your religious affliation but Christianity and Islam are mutually exclusive seeing Islam is built on foundations that TOTALLY reject the anchor of the Christian faith. Don't be deluded by all this Interfaith stuff. Speak with those in the know to confirm for yourself.

[1] Islam says Jesus was a prophet not God's son. That God CANNOT and DOES NOT beget. There goes out the window the biblical promise that we are God's sons by faith through Christ. That negates what the bible says in John1:12 namely , to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.

[2]Islam says Christ didn't die on the cross not was taken alive into heaven.  This means no resurrection nor forgiveness of sin. Check 1Corinthians15:12-19

[3]Islam says the koran is the highest revelation of God to mankind. This totally runs against the grain of  the New Testament teachings and writings which point out Christ as THE ONLY WAY to God seeing He fulfilled the Messianic prophesies. See Galatians 1:6-9

Lastly, as Paul wrote in 2Thessalonians2:3, 'Let no man decieve you,  for as Christ said in John7:17-If anyone chooses to do God's will, he will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own. I rest my keyboard.

for starters, christians(true christians) do not have a time table for fasting, so lenten is just a religious show that has nothing to do with God or Christ, but christian do fast, Jesus said in Matthew 6:16 "moreover, when ye fast . . . . ., " KJV , it did not say if u fast but when u fast. the implication of that statement is that u have to fast but it is when the need arises not just a religious show as some christians and all muslims do.  such circumstances can be like the one Jesus described in Matthew 17:21 "Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting" KJV
