countrygrl: What can I say, I thought that he was a genuine person. But, hey life goes on. Is this how African men choose to see a African American woman as (a green card provider)? Are there any African men that are seriously, truly, honestly interested in African American women? ok that is crossing the line, it is just like the popular belief that if u see an AA woman with a white man it is bcuz of his money, that is just being stereotyping on folks. some africans have their priorities messed up but they are not the only one in the wrong, i have met many AAs that do this marriage deal as a biz and they care less for the guy just the money. now there are other nigerians and africans who are interested in AA women but u have to look for them, just like u have to look for a good AA brother or a good white guy that loves u for u not what u can give them but for u. |

countrygrl: Hello,
I met this niqerian guy(well he is from Benin)but claims niqerian. He is a muslim, but married a citizen for his papers. She lives in Texas and he lives in Bklyn, NY. We have been dating for 3mths. I am a U.S. citizen (born and raised). The other day he ask me to marry his friend to help him with his papers. I work and am completing my graduate degree. Now unless I am stupid, why would he ask me to marry his friend(for atleast 3 1/2 yrs). Would you ask your girlfriend for this huge favor if you were truly interested in in her. Someone help me to clear my eyes. What the he asking of me? well, he just clearly stated that u are not important to him and why on earth do u think he can easily leave the other woman and stick with u, life has many dynamics and the last thing u want to do is keep ur options slim with such a guy like that. |

TEXASGIRL: I love my boyfriend very much. I have meet his family and spend the weekends at his home. I have also meet his daughter. Everything has been perfect until this weekend. In the middle of the night his phone kept ringing. I tried to turn it off and saw a message from some other girl. I looked at all of his messages (he is very angry I did this). I found that he is still involved with a woman from Nigeria. She lives in his home there, and he says they have a business dealings. He says he has tried to break it off with her but she will not go easily. The messages I read were all innocent, like call me etc, When we first started dating he a picture of her on his facebook. When I asked about it he took it off. He also has pictures of another woman on his facebook but states she is a friend on his comments. I do know his sister in law is trying to hook him up with her. The next day when I put up pictures of he and I that said my love he removed them. He says the girl in Nigeria will take his money if she hears about it. I messaged another woman on his page who posted "I miss U". She says she has been seeing him on and off for a couple of years. He was so angry I did that he blocked me from his page! I feel justified in what I did as I was trying to decide if he was a cheater & whether I should continue the relationship. He would barely speak to me the next two days, he acts like this is all my fault. I called him (while drinking) and told him he was stupid to do that to me & called him an a**. He says he is not sure if he wants to continue the relationship and will not tell me "I love you". Finally last night he said he does want to be with me still and we will come back together like we used to be. I am a very attractive woman, and could easily move on. But, I love this man. I feel like he is my soul mate. Am I being stupid by wanting to continue the relationship? Is he a cheater? Was I wrong for what I did? Any advice is greatly appreciated. I do not know how things work in Nigeria, but we occasionally have misunderstandings due to our cultural differences. honestly, if i were u, i will slow down the relationship until i get a better commitment from him than what he has offered so far. it might be nothing it might be a whole lot but having a girl he once was involved with sending continuous text to him calls for a pause my dear. |

AjanleKoko: No doubt our parents love us. But sometimes they tend to push hard, and make unrealistic demands on their young ones. It is even worse here in Nigeria, where sometimes parents see successful children as meal tickets. Ever been in that situation, where you really wanted to do your postgrad, but due to family demands you just had to hang on to that bank job? Let;s have some views. well, just like every other thing in live, u always look at the positive side and do ur best to explain ur position |
