Its funny How Christians select the parts of the Bible to obey and the parts to discard..When the Bible said alot of people who call God & Jesus 'father' will go to hell, he was not joking.
Todays Christians violate all the rules of the bible and standing on hypocrisy, they point hands to everyone forgetting what the bible say about beams in your neighbors eye. Christians will be quick to run to the New testament to bring out the trinity passages and forget all about the commandment of God. They will whip out the old testament to collect tithes and offerings from their congregation, But when it comes time for us to go an eye for an eye, they remember that Jesus never supported that. When it comes time for us to implement the scriptures regarding fornication, adultery, eating pig, creating graven images according to the Laws of Moses, then they will remember that we are no longer under the law but the grace..

Note that of this verses talked about fighting for self defense for those that attacked the muslims in the "first" place. The verse does not call muslims to kill innocent people it is a big sin before God.

Sharrrrrrrrrrrrrap, boko HARAM are Kanuri people not Hausa, Mohammed Yusuf, Abubakar Shekau, Habibu Bama, Shuaibu Bama, Abu qaqa 1&2, Abu Darda are all Kanuris, even Kabiru Sokoto is from Biu but grew up in Sokoto. Borno & Yobe are the two epic center of the crisis and the only two Kanuri states we have.

90% of Hausa ppl don't understand a single word in Kanuri, likewise many Kanuris can't speak or understand Hausa. Historically we are from Othman Dan Fodio empire they the Kanuri are from Kanem Borno empire. The only binding factor btw Hausa and Kanuri is geographical location and Islam. It is like blaming ALUU massacre on Igbo people or Ijaw militancy on Igbo.

@ OP sorry for derailing from the main topic, I just want to clarify some misconception. Evidence from the Quran showing that reverting from Islam is not a direct dead sentence

“Those who believe, then disbelieve, then believe again, then disbelieve, and then increase in their disbelief - Allah will never forgive them nor guide them to the path.” Surah An-Nisa’, 4:137.

“Let him who wishes to believe, do so; and let him who wishes to disbelieve, do so.” (Al-Kahf: 29)

The quotation shown above, seems to imply that multiple, sequential apostasies are possible. From the above verses it can be argued that religious freedom and the absence of compulsion in religion requires that individuals be allowed adopt a religion or to convert to another religion without legal penalty. Hence the death penalty is not an appropriate response to apostasy, unless if TREASON is accompanied. In most countries in the world today, TREASON Is a Capital offence punishable with dead or live imprisonment. The former Chief Justice of Pakistan, SA Rahman, has written that there is no reference to the death penalty in any of the 20 instances of apostasy mentioned in the Qur’an.

Take an instance with the recent Sudanese woman sentence to death for reverting from Islam. Is Killing An Apostate in the Islamic Law? One grave misunderstanding of Islamic beliefs over the years is that Islam doesn’t tolerate apostasy. The Christian missionaries and the Western world are cashing in on it. The Qur’an is completely silent on any worldly punishment for apostasy and the sole Hadith that forms the basis of rulings is open to many interpretations. Prophet (pbuh) is reported to have said:

“Whosoever changes his religion, Kill Him ”. It is this quote from the Prophet that forms the basis of the said ruling.
But this is a weak foundation because this hadith was only transmitted from Muhammad (pbuh) by one individual. It was not confirmed by a second person. According to Islamic law, this is insufficient confirmation to impose the death penalty, as most rulling in the Hadiths normally have multiple confirmation. The Shari`ah has not fixed any punishment for apostasy.

Many scholars interpret this passage as referring only to instances of high treason. (e.g.declaring war on Islam, that is apostasy with TREASON. In the case of the Sudanese woman, we had a case of apostasy but no TREASON.

There is no historical record, which indicates that Muhammad (pbuh) or any of his companions ever sentenced anyone to death for apostasy. There was a case at the time of the Prophet where a man came to him in three consecutive days and told him that he wanted to apostate. The Prophet never took any action against him, and when the man finally left Madina, the Prophet never sent anyone to arrest him, let alone kill him.
This is why some scholars distinguished between individual apostasy and apostasy which is accompanied by high treason. So, it cannot be confused with the freedom of conscience for every individual, which has been guaranteed in the Qur’an through hundreds of verses. For example, one version of a hadith narrated by `A’isha (RA) concerning apostasy relates to one who left his religion and fought against Muslims. Scholars argue that the death sentence is not for “simple apostasy” but for apostasy accompanied by treason and sedition.

The problem with the Boko Haram or Taliban of Afghanistan, however, is that most of their top leaders are illiterate. They literally don't know how to read and write. Those who lack education have a problem appreciating GOD Almighty. They are not preferred in Islam, and they could cause a lot of trouble. So, when they give verdicts against education, they are really coming up with their own false interpretations, that to them, seem to be the perfect rules. Let me rest my pen with a word from ‘Umar Ibn Al-Khattab who use to say

“Acquire understanding of the Religion before you take the positions of authority.

How are prisoners of war treated in Islam?
Islam is the religion of mercy and justice; it commands us to call others to the religion of Allaah in a kind and good manner, and to encourage people to enter this great religion.

Ibn Katheer (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: “Ibn ‘Abbaas said: in those days their prisoners were mushrikeen; on the day of Badr the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) commanded them to be kind to their prisoners, so they used to put them before themselves when it came to food… Mujaahid said, this refers to the one who is detained, i.e., they would give food to these prisoners even though they themselves desired it and loved it.”

Mutilating the body or beheading of a prisoner as done by Boko haram: it is not permitted to punish a prisoner by cutting off any part of his body or breaking any of his bones. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) forbade mutilation of prisoners-of-war and said:
“Do not mutilate.” (Narrated by Muslim, 3/1357).

The Muslims were Commanded, 1500 years ago, to feed the prisoners of war " for the love of Allah" and to tell them: Allah Almighty Said:

"They perform (their) vows, and they fear a Day
Whose evil flies far and wide. And they feed , for
the love of Allah, the indigent, the orphan, and the
captive -- (Saying), ' We feed you For the sake of
Allah alone : No reward do we desire from you, nor
thanks. ' (The Noble Quran, 76:7-9) "

" O Prophet! say to those who are captives in your hands: 'If Allah
findeth any good in your hearts, He will Give you something better
than what has been taken from you, and He will Forgive you: for
Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. But if they have treacherous
designs against thee, (O Messenger!), they have already been in
treason against Allah, and so hath He given (thee) power over them.
And Allah is He who hath (Full) knowledge and wisdom. (The Noble
Quran, 8:70-71) "


When the Muslims won the first battle of Islam against the Pagans, the battle Badr, our Prophet peace be upon him told his captives that whoever wants to earn his freedom he must teach 10 illiterate Muslims how to read and write, and he will then be set free.

NAF case is different, they have to make do with what they have. It would have been a different case if they had the equipments and they are not performing. But NA are the worst culprits, half of Boko haram weapons are source from the military. Remember the Mongulo barrack Attack that gifted Boko haram their first consignments of RPG and GPMG. I could remember vividly, immediately after the attack the NA released a statement that they kill close to 100 invading boko haram fighters that attempted to enter the barrack. But after a week boko haram released a video of bounties they stole from the attack with NA paint, inscriptions on them. Boko haram currently have 6 or more APC all seized from the military.

My brother, forget this mole or lack of equipment clauses they normally put forward, the military are afraid of Boko haram, they are even avoiding them, from the pictures on this thread, it is evident that they are not under supplied with weapons. Unless if they wanted Nuclear weapons.

SiriusBlack: I think the military are using this mole of a thing to justify their lack of courage in facing boko haram head one. Nigerian Army seemed to be falling apart, from the video of Giwa attack in which boko haram practically entered one of the most secured military facility in Sub Sahara Africa with ease left me dumbfounded. That Giwa barrack attack really exposed the failures of the military.

Secondly, one reason why some units of army staged a mutiny in which the CO was fired at, and subsequently replaced was that they where asked to embark on a night journey in what they term as enemy lines. But we have seen on countless occations how boko haram have taken the war to the army doorstep. The recent attack in Damboua is a case study where a whole brigade was completely wiped out. From what I heard, new military hardware where lost in that Damboua episode.

Thirdly, one of my neighbour from a MOPOL unit in Abuja just returned from a combat operation course in Gwoza, Borno. I was surprised to learn that MOPOL are still going on course in such violate region. He told us chilling tales of how they usually see boko haram convey going in and out of Gwoza, Liman Kara & Madagali at will without challenge. That their flash lights are visible from miles, especially when ascending or descending from Gwoza hills.

Conclusively, the NA are not proactive from my understanding, they just sit down and wait for boko haram to attack them and the Oga @The Top will release mind blowing figures of hundreds of boko boys killed. Of recent all the engagements btw the NA and boko boys are either boko boys attacking NA military bases or ambushing of NA Patrol convey. How do you fight a war when you wait for your enemy to take the initiative ?
