Throughout the inferno, no troop abandon or ran away, they all stood and fought off all fire from Boko Haram. Them Boko Haram thought it was going to be like the initial successful attack they carried out last year December, in which massive destruction was melted on our security agencies. This time it was a different ball game, the NA really did great and made everyone proud, All my sources are saying Boko Haram left Damaturu with a hard lesson learnt. Many of them killed and many more arrested.

The First group successfully over ran the MOPOL base despite brave resistance from the boys. They then join up with the second group and lunched a daring attack at the Government House. At the initial stage they seemed to have the upper hand, but a combination of Special forces and Police CTU guarding the Government House, they overcome the initial attack and inflicted massive casualty on the Boko Haram members. After suffering losses, they regroup and lunch another attack, that was when military Jets and Attack helicopters came in from Yola and started shelling them. Many where killed, many scattered to various direction. While retreating, they started setting houses on fire and they returned back to the MOPOL base and burnt the entire structures. Not done with they burnt the admin block of the Yobe state university, which I was told was the only structure affected.

The last group of fighters consisted of some of Boko Haram hardened and tested fighter where tasked with taking over the JTF HQ. That group came with suicide bombers, one suicide bomber rammed his explosives ridden vehicle at the gate of the JTF HQ while fighting was on going. But miraculously, the bomb refused to detonate, the suicide bomber came out of the vehicle and attempted to detonate the bomb manually before he was taken down by multiple burst of fire from our gallant troops. Seeing that their suicide attempt at getting into the JTF HQ is gone they retreated after coming under heavy helicopters gunshot. Many where also killed and reports reaching me indicate that some Boko Haram members where bombed while retreating back to Gujuba. A handful of them where arrested after the civilian JTF entered into the battle.

Boko Haram came to Damaturu immediately after Subhir prayers. They surrounded the town from three front, One team headed straight from Gujuba to Yobe State University. Another team headed past the MOPOL base to the city thru New Jerusalem and the last group took position just behind the JTF HQ.

The mission of the first group is to demolished any resistant from the MOPOL as they are the first group of security formation they will encounter along the way. This will effectively give them free passage to the Government House which is just about 5-6km from the MOPOL base.

Attacking the Government House comes with two advantage, one it is the seat of the Government and secondly just besides the Government House is a military detention facility known as Gontanamo Bay. It is believed that senior members of Boko Haram are under detention in that facility. One will expect Boko Haram will make attempt at releasing some of their members as they did in Giwa barracks.

The last group heads straight to JTF HQ. Their mission probably is to get hold of some new procurement of military hardwares the JTF have been testing for quite some time.

HERE ARE THE MISTAKES.

One military strategy that should always be used while defending a territory is the use of BUFFER ZONES. Turkey is trying to create a buffer zones btw them and Syria. Israel maintain the Golan height as a buffer zone btw them and Syria. The 7division in Maiduguri realized the need for buffer zone that's why they defended Kodunga the last town before Maiduguri with all they had. That's was the reason Boko Haram attempted to take Kodunga 5 times before they back off. Boko Haram invaded and took control of Gujuba 2 months ago. Gujuba is the last LGA about 50km to Damaturu. Practically, Damaturu was a town awaiting to be annexed since the last 2 months, because just some few check points separated Boko Haram from Damaturu.

I still can't find the reason why the NA allow Boko Haram to consolidate their hold of Gujuba for 2 months without any attempt to recapture it back. Todays attack came from that same Gujuba and any attack hence forth directed at Damaturu will emanate from Gujuba.

At times I don't understand NA strategy of "WAIT TO BE ATTACK," . Boko Haram attack Damaturu from Gujuba LGA, and this same Gujuba was captured from NA two months ago, and its just 50km to Damaturu. You don't need a Rocket Scientist to tell you Boko Haram intend to use Gujuba as a launching base to attack Damaturu. But yet, the NA instead of recaputuring Gujuba at all cost to create a kinda of Buffer zone, they just stood and wait for Boko Haram to attack them, while they scramble to fight back.

PoliticsRe: BREAKING NEWS:- Damaturu Currently Under Massive Attack by NafeesaAA(op): 7:33am On Dec 01, 2014
Boko Haram invaded Gujuba about 2 months ago and set up a base there, Gujuba LGA is about 50km to Damaturu, What do you expect a serious army to do, retake Gujuba at all, because you can't watch an enemy lurking around a state capital, amassing weapons and men just 50km to Damaturu.
The army didnt do anything, they just stood and wait when Boko Haram will attack them in Damaturu. Behold, Boko Haram decided December 1st is the D-Day.

I just can't fashion out this type of military strategy, " WAIT TO BE ATTACK " Or are we deliberately arming, feeding them or What? The Food, weapons, utilities Boko Haram got from Mubi is enough to sustain them for one year. Now they Boko Haram don't need to buy weapons they practically get 70% of all weapons they used from Nigeria army.

Lies from the pit of hell, No pictures no audio recording no name and location of the polling unit and you expect us to believe this crappy story.

@OP......Good news but I don't want to wake up tomorrow and here its been retaken by haram. this is Nigeria where every insane thing is possible.
I don't think so, with the newly acquired weaponry, the bravery of local hunters and the injection of the civilian JTF is what is giving the army a new found confidence. Last week Sunday I went to visit a friend of mine in the barrack, Their was a little panic in the Church @ST Stephen Military Protestant Church , Gibson Jalo Cantonment Yola, where by even the Pastor ran away following thunderous sound of burst fire close to the church. They thought it was a bomb blast or a BH attack in the barrack. Even myself I was shivering, it was later we learn that the Army are testing the effectiveness of their newly acquired state of the earth #SHILKA and #T80 tanks. That loud sound's and vibration along almost brought down many buildings. I was really happy to experience that! That's the effective and firepower of a #Shilka and #T80 which no BH Tank on earth can withstand.

Besides, many of the military men told their top Generals that they won't fight without the Local hunters and the Civilian JTF. And to add to their fire power the Civilian JTF and hunters normally keep any Rifle they got from dead Boko Haram foot soilders. I think the military are serious right now I just hope they keep the tempo

Soldiers have returned to Mubi, the town is deserted. Some People have gone to visit their homes. Many houses have been looted but a number were not even entered. Some of the boys who joined the group are said to have fled. Others have melted into the communities surrounding Mubi. How long it will take residents to return is not known. We advice CAUTION both for those returning and those travelling along that axis. Pockets of insurgents and criminal elements who got empowered by the insurgents could still be on the prowl. PoliticsRe: Middlebelt, Should We Still Vote Goodluck Come 2015 In Majority Like 2011? by NafeesaAA(f): 5:19pm On Nov 27, 2014
The middle belt has Benue, Kwara, Kogi, Nassarawa, Niger and Plateau states in its fold. Majority of Benue and Plateau do not want to be associated with the North. They are the' Middle belters'. To them, North is synonymous with Islam and backwardness and so they do not belong there. One can still have a handful of them in Kogi and Nassarawa states. The middle belt agitators are all Christians because the middle belt concept is not political but religious. They have grudges with the 'core North' that they are only used and dumped. Note that Gowon, Babangida and Abdussalam are all from there but the duo of Babangida and Absussalam are not seen as middle belters because they are Muslims. They are still 'marginalised'. There is an unholy alliance between them and the Christian south who have sympathy for them because they are being 'oppressed'. The region has vast and untapped solid mineral resources and is rich in agriculture. I assume they talk fire and brimstone because Nigeria still remains 'one'. They will always have solidarity with their sympathisers. If Nigeria should divide, they will be trapped at the middle. The South will never accept them as their own because whether they like it or not, to an average Southerner, they are also abokis and mallams. They have ruined their relationship with the North unnecessarily and they are not welcome in the south. They have even extended their 'middle belt' up to Niger, Taraba, Kaduna and Adamawa. Though these states have many Christians in their fold, they still see themselves as Northerners largely. The agitation will die naturally because no sympathisers and the North they see as an enemy is the only place they have. They will be accepted back with caution. Plateau and Benue states alone cannot form a country.
PoliticsRe: BREAKING NEWS :- Another Helicopter Crash In Yola Today Friday 21/11/2014 by NafeesaAA(op): 4:07pm On Nov 21, 2014
The Nigerian military has insisted that none of its planes is involved in any crash in Yola, the Adamawa State capital, or in any other location in the country on Friday.
“I have spoken with the commander of our fleet in Yola and he said all our planes are intact, that they are not involved in any accident, ” the spokesperson for the Nigerian Air Force, Dele Alonge, an Air Commodore, told PREMIUM TIMES.
The Director of Military Information at the Defence Headquarters, Chris Olukolade, a Major General, spoke along the same line.
“I do not have any information at this point that any of our planes is involved in an accident,” Mr. Olukolade told PREMIUM TIMES by telephone.
The Nigerian aviation authorities also said they were not aware of any crash within Nigeria’s territory today.
“I have called people in Yola, I have interacted with the control tower and so far all those who should know said they are not aware of any crash,” said Yakubu Datti, General Manager, Corporate Communications of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria [FAAN]. “We don’t know where the story of the plane crash came from.”
There had been widespread reports (not in PREMIUM TIMES) that another military chopper crashed in the Damare suburb of Yola, not far from the location where a military helicopter came down about three weeks
