IslamEX-Nigerian Footballer Emeka Ezeugo Convert To Islam. Pix by NafeesaAA(op): 11:00am On Jan 05, 2014
Former Nigerian footballer and Mohammedan SC coach Emeka Ezeugo announced that he has embraced Islam after being inspired by the life of Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him).

Emeka went to a Muslim cleric last week along with Mohammedan manager Amirul Islam, his former team-mate Kaiser Hamid, Zaker party leader Amir Faisal and club official Abu Hasan Prince to convert to Islam.

The former footballer, who represented Nigeria in the 1994 World Cup after playing for Mohammedan Sporting Club for nearly a decade, said he feels honoured to be a follower of the great prophet who he thinks is the greatest among all messengers of god.

‘I am always a curious person and studied different religions when I found the life of Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) very inspiring,’ Emeka told New Age on Monday.

Emeka, who now has taken a new name Mustafa Mohammed, claimed that his family has accepted his decision, though they all are members of Roman Catholic Church.

‘I am a grown up man brother. I am free to make my own decisions. None of my family members protested the decision,’ said Emeka.

Emeka, however, said that the large number of friends he made in Bangladesh is like his family and they gave him good support in making the decision.

‘Bangladesh is my second home and I have some friends here who are like my brothers. They helped me in making the decision,’ Emeka said.

Emeka, 44, said he could not express his feeling about becoming a Muslim and felt like a Bangladeshi and it became stronger after converting to Islam. His life has become more disciplined as he has to offer prayers more now and follow some other rituals of the religion.

‘I have just planted a seed and now I have to nourish it into a tree. I know that I will discover many good sides of this decision with time but at this moment I can say the religion has made my life more disciplined,’ said Emeka.

He added that he will apply for a new passport with his new name once he returns to his home in Nigeria.

Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso

** Construction of three new flyovers, and the longest flyover in west Africa.

*** Construction of two Hydro electricity project at Challawa dam

** Look at the removal of ‘achaba’ (commercial motorcycle); people never thought it would be possible, but it is history now.

** Kano state government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MOU, with a Chinese firm, CCECC, for the construction of a modern intra city railway system in Kano city.

** Northwest University. He has used the Ado Bayero House, which was abandoned for many years, as a temporary site for the university. It has taken off while the permanent site is under construction,

**1,000 post-secondary school leavers with nine credits are sponsored for their first degree in various specialized courses and first-class graduates for their master’s degree programme. Another 500 sent to Igbenidion university for degree programme in Medicine, nursery, pharmacy etc This is unprecedented in the history of Kano.
***

** Governor Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso of Kano state has commissioned 26 magistrate courts constructed and furnished by his administration at the cost of millions of Naira and laid the foundation stone for the construction of 27 Shari’a courts across the
state.

** Gov. Rabi'u Musa Kwankwaso of Kano state received the 2012 Zik Prize for Good Governance Award from Chief Sonnie Odogwu supported by the former Chairman of Interim National Government, Chief Ernest Shonekan,

** Kano state government has spent over N250 million on the establishment of Kano Corporate Security Institute, as part of its effort to create job opportunities among the teeming unemployed youth and enhance security of lives and property in the state.

*** Apart from the recent free education at all levels he has re-introduced mass education at every local government. There is a centre where he has recruited people to teach basic education to housewives and traders, so that everyone can at least have basic education and be able to read and write. He has also brought a new concept of establishing crafts schools in every local government so that dropouts from secondary schools can go to the crafts school and learn a trade.

** If you go to Kano the streetlights are all functioning, the pavements and roads are working, rehabilitation of culverts and drainages is ongoing. In the night you feel like you are in Dubai. There is also general road infrastructure uplift; all the roads leading to Kano are being expanded with street lights and drainages.

** Construction of 3 new cities, Amana City, Kwankwasiya City and another one along Dambatta Road - all equipped with modern infrastructure that will decongest Kano. This is a laudable project.

** On the issue of youth employment, There is school of fishery, sports, ITC, entrepreneurship, poultry and all different trades where students will be trained and be given empowerment.

** Kwankwaso also received two prestigious awards by American Black Mayors at the at the 39th National Annual Conference of a Black Mayors for his "commitment to uplifting the well being of the citizenry as well as his transparency, prudence and accountability of public resources" in Atlanta, Georgia

SIR AHMADU BELLO'S (Sardauna) XMAS MESSAGE TO NORTHERN CHRISTIANS IN
1959
We are people of many different races, tribes and religions, who are knit together by common history, common interests and common ideals. Our diversity may be great but the things that unite us are stronger than the things that divide us. On an occasion like this, I always remind people about our firmly rooted policy on religious tolerance. Families of all creeds and colour can rely on these assurances. We have no intention of favouring one religion at the expense of another. Subject to overriding need to preserve law and order, it is our determination that everyone should have absolute liberty to practise his beliefs. It is befitting on this momentous day, on behalf of my ministers and myself, to send a special word of gratitude to all Christian missions. Let me conclude this with a personal message. I extend my greetings to all our people who are christians on this great feast day. Let us forget the difference in our religion and remember the common brotherhood before God, by dedicating ourselves afresh to the great tasks which lie before us.

PoliticsWhat Is Happening In Kaduna? by NafeesaAA(op): 1:37pm On Dec 22, 2013
Every state seem to developing except Kaduna. On Nairaland you see pictures of Airports build in Jigawa, Sokoto, Kano Osun and almost all the states in Nigeria. You see road construction, flyovers in Kano, State university, hospitals etc. But coming to Kaduna state, a cloud of secrecy and an aura of emptiness just surround the state. Right from the tenure of late Yakowa to this man at the helm of affairs nothing seem to be going on in the state.

Members of nairaland residing in Kaduna should pls update us of any transformation taking place in that state. Below is a comment from a Kaduna based nairalander on the thread showing the construction of an airport in Jigawa State,

PoliticsPakistan Launches Production Of New Fighter Jet by NafeesaAA(op): 7:35am On Dec 22, 2013
Pakistan on Wednesday launched production of a new version of a combat aircraft featuring an upgraded avionics and weapons system. The plane, to be called Block-II JF-17, will be manufactured at the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex west of Islamabad, which has so far produced 50 older-model Block-I JF-17s for the air force.
The complex on Wednesday formally handed over the 50th indigenously produced Block-I JF-17 Thunder aircraft to the air force at a ceremony presided over by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. The JF-17 Thunder has been co-developed and co-produced with the China National Aero-technology Import and Export Corporation.
"The indigenous manufacturing of JF-17s will not only lead to self-reliance and industrialisation but will also further strengthen Pakistan's friendship with China," Sharif told the ceremony.
"The first Block-II JF-17 will be ready by June next year," chief project director Air Vice Marshal Javaid Ahmad told AFP. The Block-II will have improved versions of avionics sub-systems, air-to-air refuelling capability, additional weapons carriage capability and some extra operational capabilities.
Ahmad said several countries in Central Asia, South America and Africa had shown interest in buying the new plane. The Pakistan Aeronautical Complex, which overhauls and rebuilds the air force's whole range of combat aircraft, has the capacity to roll out 16-25 aircraft per year.

PoliticsGay Magazine Names Pope As Person Of The Year by NafeesaAA(op): 5:43pm On Dec 17, 2013
Gay rights magazine praises Francis for his encouraging words on homosexuality , saying his papacy is a stark change. A gay rights magazine has named Pope Francis its person of the year, an honour that has coincided with his 77th birthday.
The Advocate, the oldest gay rights magazine in the US , has conferred the title on the pontiff for his encouraging words on gays and lesbians, describing his papacy as a stark change from that of his predecessor Benedict . Francis is also this month' s cover star of the magazine, which has placed a tattoo from an anti -homophobia campaign on his cheek, even though the Vatican insists there is no change in the official position on homosexuality .
The publication hailed as a landmark the pope' s famous response to a reporter who asked about gay people in the Church : " If a person is gay and seeks God and has good will, who am I to judge?" The Roman Catholic church teaches that homosexual acts are sinful rather than homosexual tendencies but The Advocate has said nobody should underestimate any pope' s capacity for " persuading hearts and minds" in opening to lesbian , gay, bisexual and transsexual people . Francis, who celebrated his birthday on Tuesday by sharing a meal with the homeless at his guest house , has had a spectacular 2013 despite only being elected in March. Splendour eschewed
Last week Time magazine also pronounced him as the person of the year ,congratulating him for shifting the message of the church towards mercy and away
from condemnation.
He is also credited with the ' Pope Francis effect' - a boost in church attendance figures in Italy and the UK - and praised for his use of social media. His simple lifestyle and informal apparoach has also garnered positive reaction. Francis has eschewed the splendours of the papal palace for a suite in a Vatican hotel and traveling around in an open -top vehicle rather than the bulletproof Popemobile. But some of his acts have surprised people .
His decision to wash and dry the feet of two young women and Muslims during a Maundy Thursday mass was a dramatic break from tradition.

BOKO HARAM: TIME TO THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX...TIME TO LOOK INWARD....
I decided to scale down on my posts on sensitive security issues, but I have to rescind the decision when "Boko Haram" attacked a military formation in Maiduguri. I won't try to bore you with Intelligence Analysis, but rather go straight to the campaign of deceit being executed by those we have trusted with our national security and sovereignty.
Some of us are no fools... Some of us will forever be holding the Presidency culpable. First it was Jaji barrack bombing, and I maintained it was an "inside job". You can't gain access into any Military formation/barracks across the country without being subjected to serious security check. It either you have a "dependant card" or you state the name, rank, and quarters the personnel you're going to see resides. In some cases, you will have to place a call to the personnel and he has to identify himself, and you'll also show a valid identification before you are granted access...this was before "Boko Haram" came into being.

Due to increased activities of Boko Haram, barricade were mounted at almost, if not at all formations across the country. Other security measures were put in place...thing I can't list out in a bid nor to undermine their activities or compromise it. Now their is an affront on an Airforce Base in Maiduguri, Borno State. An attack a friend of mine in the Intelligence community described as "scandalous"
I will like to point out that this has "state sponsorship" written all over it and to buttress my assertion I will highlight some grey areas...

1. There's a State of Emergency rule in Borno state. Martial laws have been enacted, and there is restriction of movement due to several road blocks and massive deployment of troops across the state.

2. There was a claim by the JTF that they've chased the insurgents into the caves and mountains.

3. The emergency rule has just been extended, so the heavy military presence is still existing.

4. Security measures on the formations in the state is still very much in place....

With all these aforementioned points, the question begging for answers are; How were the insurgents able to get to the city from the mountains, beat all the security checks and road block, beat the security measures on the Airforce installation, get to the hanger, and destroy those planes?
QUESTIONS

1. Why was it that the planes that were destroyed were "decommissioned" crafts?

2. Where are their corpses? I mean corpses of the insurgents? Can we have access to it..?

3. Where are the pictures of the raided / bombed camps the army have been feeding us

4. Why did the army ignored Intel suggesting strange movement of people at the outskirts of maiduguri

5. Why was GSM network service restored immediately after the attack

I have these guys didn't copy the "plot" in an earlier post of mine titled "IF I WERE IN THEIR SHOES" in which I suggested that an attack can be stage, in the case of the aviation minister. I think it is high time we looked inward... I guess it's time for the NSA to look inward...think outside the box... I make an audacious claim that the COAS.. Chief of Army Staff, that has the bulk of the Command staff and personnel in this operation has a case to answer....
To resolve the Boko Haram issue... I stand by this bold assertion of mine.

Foreign AffairsGreeks Self- Inject HIV To Claim $950 In Monthly Health Benefits by NafeesaAA(op): 12:46pm On Nov 26, 2013
A growing number of Greek residents have injected themselves with HIV so they can
claim about $950 in monthly health benefits, according to a report commissioned by
the World Health Organisation .
The report , Review of social determinants and the health divide in the WHO European
Region , found about half of new HIV infections in Greece were self -inflicted , as the
population continues to grapple with a deeply troubled economy.
The country' s suicide rate has also skyrocketed , while healthcare access has declined.
" These adverse trends in Greece pose a warning to other countries undergoing
significant fiscal austerity , including Spain , Ireland and Italy , " the report noted .
" It also suggests that ways need to be found for cash -strapped governments to
consolidate finances without undermining much - needed investments in health ."
Despite severe austerity measures, which have prompted massive protests in Greece ,
the country' s economy has continued to decline, with unemployment soaring to 27
percent .
Homicide and theft rates have correspondingly doubled , growing alongside the
disturbing trend of self - inflicted HIV infections, the WHO report noted .
" HIV rates and heroin use have risen significantly , with about half of new HIV
infections being self -inflicted to enable people to receive benefits .. . and faster
admission on to drug-substitution programmes, " the report stated.
" Prostitution has also risen, probably as a response to economic hardship ."
Health-care gaps
The study also found that suicides rose by 17 % in a two - year period ending in 2009 ,
with the Health Ministry citing a further 40% rise in the first half of 2011.
In the meantime, Greeks have had poorer access to healthcare as hospital budgets
have been slashed .
WHO commissioned the report to review inequities among countries in the European
Region and recommend policies to bridge the gaps.
Since the spring of 2010, Greece has been dependent on bailouts from the
International Monetary Fund and other European countries .
Stringent austerity measures have failed to revive the Greek economy, instead fuelling
sustained public anger .
In September , thousands of civil servants marched through Athens as part of a two -
day national strike against planned job cuts .

EFCC Arrests Gov. Sule Lamido’s Sons Over N10 Billion Money Laundering Fraud
November 15, 2013 - 09:31 — siteadmin

Aminu Lamido and Mustapha Lamido, sons of Jigawa State governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido were arrested yesterday, November 14, 2013 by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. Dependable sources say they were picked up by operatives of the Commission between 10 and 11.55pm in Kano and have been moved to Abuja, the Commission’s headquarters, where a crack team of investigators will grill them.

Their arrest, according to a knowledgeable source, is in furtherance of the investigation that commenced in December 2012 when Aminu Sule Lamido was arrested at the Mallam Aminu Kano Airport en route Cairo, Egypt for failure to declare the $50,000 he had on him.

Though Aminu has since been prosecuted and convicted by a Federal High Court in Kano, investigation as to how he came by the money has led investigations to uncover a web of money laundering in which billions of naira from Jigawa state government accounts are funnelled into the accounts of companies run by the Jigawa state governor and his two sons.

Over N10billion is said to have been transferred from Jigawa state government accounts into the accounts in which Sule Lamido and his two sons have interest from 2007 till date.

The Commission is said to have traced these transfers to 10 companies where Lamido and sons are directors and signatories to the account.

The companies include Bamaina Alluminium Limited, Bamaina Holdings Limited, Bamaina Company Nigeria Limited, Rawda Integrated Services Limited, Speeds International Limited and Saby Integrated Nigeria Limited.

The account of these companies received huge cash inflow between 2007 and 2013, a period that coincide with the tenure of Sule Lamido as governor of Jigawa state. For instance in Bamaina Aluminium where Sule Lamido and his two sons are directors, investigations revealed that the company’s account controlled by Mustapha as signatory received total credit of N1.52billion between January 2010 and August 2013.
