I finished reading through the post and i am impressed. I too am natural. Transitioned from july 08-july09, chopped and now its been over a year since being fully natural and I am loving it. And i do not plan on going back to relaxers, ever!! We should def keep this thread going.

@Naija_diva, well if i say some yoruba girls i know look AA then your instinct shld have let you know AA also look like them before postin this since they weren't born nd raise in the united states with that kind of weather but they still look different unlike the rest of the tribe girls who you see their tribe on their face that can specify this is the particular tribe she's from in nigeria.

i don't live in NY but from what i hear, housing can be quite expensive esp if u are in the city.

I do and dont enjoy flying. I cant sleep on a plane, ever because i guess i feel somewhat uneasy when flying but i would never stop flying because i still kinda like it, wierd, huh?

I am never embarassed for being nigerian, however i may feel embarassed for not only another nigerian but alot of africans in general. Where i live although nigerians make up the majority, there are other africans mostly from Sierra leone, liberia, ghana, and cameroon and other places.

I live in a well diverse area so its really hard to cry racism lol. anyways, i shake my head at alot of africans that i come across becauase of their atttitude. they can be quite rude and not care. In my head, i can't help but think the way u acted back home is not going to benefit you here! they do not get that. they think by raising there voice and calling ppl idiot is going to solve their problem, it is not. your're just going to look stupid.

i just wish many of them could be alot cooler and calmer. anyways i still love my fellow africans.

Do u know anyone personally in the states? If so, get in contact with them. It would be better instead of looking for accomodation from strangers, just my 2 cents.

If this was an american or whatever forum and the title was written the way it was here, then yes it wouldn't be appropriate because most of the posters would not know what "igbo" is. But since this is a NIGERIAN forum, I think we should be comfortable or atleast "tolerate-able" with titles such as these.

although this is an old thread, i dont think its fair to box dark-skin people into a catergory of do's and dont. They can wear any color they choose, as all colors have different undertones, shades, tints, and all that. And the colors that you are speaking of: red, pink, purple, green, etc shouldn't be worn by any grown woman (or man) especially if you are planning to get and keep a job. now if colored hair is apart of the job then carry on,

u also need cinnamon. I dont use sugar bcuz well, i dont. i eat it with maple syrup, which is sweet anyways. but some ppl still add sugar to the mix, but u definitely need cinnamon.
