i forgot to add, for me, i use cheap condish to help rinse out the henna. I try to wash out as much henna i can out of my hair with plain water, after that, i lather my hair with cheap condish like V05 or tresemme naturals, Or suave and keep rinsing it out that way.

Just rinse your hair thoroughly when you first apply it, coz it will stain your pillowcases.
My mother uses henna. . .You can mix tea or wine to enhance the reddish tint.
yep, u can use those but i don't wanna use wine in my hair when i should be drinking it  grin.

you could also use coffee, orange juice or lemon juice (these 2 however can be harsh for our hair, i use them tho with no problems) I don't know if im wording it correctly, but i believe henna takes on the color of the liquid used. if u use coffee, it'll be more on the auburny side. if u use lemon juice, u'll get a brighter color, (dont quote me 100% on it) but mostly it depends on the batch of henna. if u don't want the red deposit, mixing indigo or alma should help tame the color.

and when rinsing henna, u gotta keep rinsing until the water runs clear.

Henna is a good way to color hair but if your hair is dark (dark brown and blk) it will not show. In certain lights or in the sun, u might be able to see it, just like how when u put a semi-color rinse in your hair, u may not see it but when u go outside, u can see it glistening (sp?) a bit.

If you want to get the color that henna releases, it have to lighten your hair. I know Clairol has a product called illuminizer (i think) and its uses to lift the color of your natural hair. They say its less harsh than bleach and peroxide. You leave it in for the amount of mins u feel will do the job.

Henna is very much permanent. you just cant see it bcuz most likely your hair is dark (i assume). Henna is a natural hair dye and conditioner that bonds to the hair as if it is your hair. If you are blond and u henna your hair, your hair will be be orange-y, redish brown, depending on the batch of henna. you can not remove it. You have to grow your hair out and/or cut it off. I don't know if u can color over it, but im sure u can. Some ppl have tried many ways to remove the color caused by henna by very harsh means. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't but for our hair (afro-textured hair), that removal technique wouldn't work bcuz we could go bald for trying it (LOL)

But it does make the hair strong, healthy and shiny.

I copied this post from the other thread. You can find more on henna at hennaforhair. com

I haven't listened to the clip, yet, but still doesn't change the fact that B.O.B does suck!! Bought his stupid album, listened to it so many times, at home, in the car, in long journey, short journery, with earphones, w/o earphones, and it still sucks. He tricked us with that nothing on u single, had us thinking he was good. fooled me. Haven't listened to the CD since May/June and its somewhere chilln in the house, or in my car (IDK, shows u how much i care for it).
CultureRe: All Igbos ,State your Title Name (Afa Otutu gi) Here by naijadiva2(f): 3:35pm On Oct 19, 2010
excanny:
Do you understand Igbo when it's been spoken? Because if do, with a little practice, you can learn how to read it. It's more simpler to read than English, since most words are pronounced the way they are spelt.

I was never taught Igbo in school nor raised in Igboland. But since i could understand the language when spoken, i practiced with some Igbo literature and today i can write Igbo.

I will never allow the same happen to my kids. A part of their schooling must be done in Igboland.
Yes, I understand igbo very well. Me and my siblings except the last one all understand igbo. We just don't speak it but i do know how to say some words and phrases. My younger bro miraculously speaks igbo (conversational). I try to practice whenever i can but when you're made fun of bcuz of the way u pronounce you're words, it becomes a bit discouraging, but i try undecided

and i found some igbo lessons online at igbonet.com and other random sites to help me with igbo. Its very helpful. I printed all the pages so i pretty much have a book. I haven't looked at it for a while, but i'll go back to reading it.

But you are right with the learning how to read bcuz it makes learning pronounciations alot easier.

I will give you one title (if you want) but where do you reside?.
thanks. i live in the US(maryland). But i'll break down my family location to the best of my abilities.

Mom: imo state, from owerri city, mbieri villiage (thats how she tells me and i still get confuse.

Dad: Abia state, from Aba city, he's ngwa and i think his village is umucham (i think that how u spell)

I get confuse sometimes abt the parts my parents are from bcuz they use different locations/ name to describe their hometown.

and thats it, i hope i said everything right
CultureRe: Why Do Nigerians Especially Those Abroad Hate The Nigerian Accent? by naijadiva2(f): 9:23pm On Oct 18, 2010
I love naija accent

MzDarkSkin:
@OP you pretty much answered your own question. It's mental slavery. I feel like even if other people make fun of something this is part of you, that should make you embrace it even more because they feed off of your insecurities. Nigerians abroad should not try to hide their accents because that is who they are.

@Spiked according to an American comedian (black guy) who did a joke on Comic View about how he'd rather hear a girl talking sexy in a spanish, french and Caribbean accent than Nigerian, ofcourse this had the ignorant audience cracking up but thats just ignorance. Slavery messed us up bad.
I remember this afican guy came on this comedian show (american) and he was making fun of africa or african ppl. he had an accent and all (natural accent, i think he was from mali or something like that) then he showed the audience his "photo album of his family". The pages were nothing but blk paper and he was like "this is my family" so you know the audience was cracking up, some were shaking their heads.

Idk but i've seen african jamaican beef, and in that one, the africans won (no bias) but they're cool now, at least they should be cuz this was back in high school (4/5 yrs ago). african ppl do their's quietly, one day they say enoughs enough and show u straight fire LOL

FashionRe: How Good Is Fair And White " So White" Cream & "Exclusive" Soap? by naijadiva2(f): 7:30pm On Oct 18, 2010
SMH at this thread.

anything called fair and light, so white, white and clear or whatever, if the title uses words that indicates being brighter, "toned", clear is bleaching cream in my opinion, I don't care if it has hydroquinone or not, not using it. and yes it will thin your skin out as someone brought out in the post above. you are weakening your skin (for lack of better phrase). OUr color is ment as a protection for us and adds to our beaury. Using all these products prevents your skin from doing what it needs to do thats why many bleachers become 2-toned or darker then they were b4.

Tyra is in soup then, the girl should have taken permission from her mom
she was probably one of those girls who did what they wanted so mom's permissioin was nothing.

As crazy as it may seem, but i kind of believe this story bcuz tyra is suspected for doing shady business like this. Some ppl who've been on the show say it wasn't what they excepted.
