so u stay at college park end, down the road at laurel
but indeed baltimore is rough. nethacker, we fit meet for camden yards matbe sumtime next week?
I don't live in CP, I live not to far from it tho but not in the direction laurel.

ROSSIKE:
I don't understand the need for all these Nigeria parade in New York stuff. What makes anyone think the locals in those places have a need or care to see Nigerians parading (or rather disturbing the peace of their neighbourhood) with their ''independence celebrations''? All rather embarassing if you ask me. The paraders should come together and use that parade money to better the lives of a few of their countrymen back home, or build a hospital or something.
ummm NY have parades for like every country, im surprise they have the time to do them all in one yr so its not just a nigerian thing. They have puerto rico day, dominican day, mexico, indian day, NIGERIAN, caribbean. its all for fun and its not just nigerians that attend the nigerian parades, but the locals and ppl of other nationalities/ethnicities.

manny4life:
Since yall Nigerians live off DC, that's good to see some Nigerians actually live off DC, I stay in VA off Arlington, Crystal City area, hehehe,

@nethacker, DC isn't a state like she explained to you. Talking about Baltimore, heard is a rough place to live, be very careful and don't make the mistake of calling someone "AKATA" else u pay the dear price.
cool, not too far from where i work. yea there's alot of nigerians in the area.

don't call anyone akata, ppl around here are catching on quickly lol
TravelRe: West African Countries Hate Nigerians? by naijadiva2(f): 6:22pm On Oct 18, 2010
I comment on this but i forgot what i said tongue but that was sometime ago and my perspective might have changed but for me and MY experience, I've never met a person or group of ppl who hated or disliked nigerians the way some of you all have pointed out. If anything i get more love when ppl find out that i am of nigerian descent. Whether west africans, east african, west indian, asians, whatever.

, a friend met this girl not quite long. they exchange phone nos and added each other on facebook. he called her several time that they should hang out and she should select where they will go too, but made her self on available. they were talking and the guy asked her when is your birthday. she said October 10 when July 23 was on her profile. is she smart or silly?
so this makes someone sillyhuh FB profiles shouldnt be taken seriously. PPl make up stuff just for fun and shouldn't be used as the real life "resume" of a person. So the real question is are you smart or silly for making this an issue?

EventsRe: Nigerian Parade 2010 New York Video by naijadiva2(f): 8:35pm On Oct 15, 2010
LOL thats ok. DC is just a city that "acts" like a state. They have a representative in the house, but she has no say, really  undecided, thats why their license plates says "taxtation w/o representation".

ummm, im not in that area. UMBC is a good 40 mins north from me. I'm closer to UMD- College Park.

I've always wanted to go to the nigerian parade in NY. This year i didn't have time and i was being lazy. LOL Maybe next yr . I wish they had something like this down here esp with the many nigerians/africans around here. The closest we get to having a "parade" is thru the carribean carnival parade. We create our own segment and float called "africarnival". But if we had one that was entirely devoted to africa, that would be so cool.

I love your SLs aquarius_age!!!!

I heard that u can remove regular dreads and perhaps SLs but the process is extremely tedious. It takes days. You have to soak the hair in conditioner for days so that the dreads become swollen and loose. Then u start from the tip the hair to "untangle" it. Im sure there some YT clips that help explain the process.

I've always wanted dreads since i was like 10yrs but my mom was like no. But now that im older and can make my own decisions, i wouldn't mind doing them but i like styling my hair. I am natural and can create imitate dreads with my own hair or extension so im cool with that. sometimes when i wear my hair in twist, some ppl think that my hair is locked.

My daily regimen looks long (i posted on the first pg) but it only takes me abt 30 mins to all if not less.

I threw out all my colgate dem dem and use Thomas of maines toothpaste
I use to use Toms of maine but i felt like it was just like all the other commerical toothpaste. Now I use this tooth powder called eco-dent http://www.vitacost.com/Eco-dent-Daily-Care/?bnPageBox=pp_frequentlyboughttogether. Its pretty good. I like it and doesn't leave any weird after taste and cleans better IMO.
You know, you can use henna to dye/color you hair. Have you heard of Lucille Ball? Well, if you do then you'll probably be shocked to know that she wasn't a natural red head. She used to die her hair with henna. When I cut my hair, I'm gonna do a henna treatment on my hair.
Henna is a good way to color hair but if your hair is dark (dark brown and blk) it will not show. In certain lights or in the sun, u might be able to see it, just like how when u put a semi-color rinse in your hair, u may not see it but when u go outside, u can see it glisening (sp?) a bit.

If you want to get the color that henna releases, it have to lighten your hair. I know clariol has a product called illuminizer (i think) and its uses to lift the color of your natural hair. they say its less harsh than bleach and peroxide. You leave it in for the amount of mins u feel will do the job.

SA Goddess:
I have done henna, I like it because it not permanent and does not damage hair. . . . .why do you have to wait until you cut the hair Nerd? I used to put henna on my relaxed hair (chemically treated) and had no problems. My problem started when I used Dark&Lovely perm colour that my hair was messed up, I cut it a year later because it was just not the same. . . . . . . . . .
Henna is very much permanent. you just cant see it bcuz most likely your hair is dark (i assume). Henna is a natural hair dye and conditioner that bonds to the hair as if it is your hair. If you are blond and u henna your hair, you can not remove it. you have to grow your hair out and/or cut it off. I don't know if u can color over it, but im sure u can. some ppl have tried many ways to remove the color caused by henna by very harsh means. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't but for our hair (afro-textured hair), that removal technique wouldn't work bcuz we could go bald for trying it (LOL)

But it does make the hair strong, healthy and shiney.

LMAO!!! Seriouslyyyyyyyyyy?? wow! That is definitely a reject professor. I expect that from kids(not even in high school but it happens so I guess that's too much expectation but college-level, you should know better) but a professor too?? DAMN!
yea i know, the boy was dumb anyways, but still. and the professor, let me not get started on him. Said he tried running for mayor of DC. . .Umm FAIL!!! Who comments in such manners anyways. Like get over it. Some of these ppl are so pressed that slavery happened just cuz they are in america and they "try" to make me feel "bad" bcuz i didnt have the same outcome as them. Im like sweety, I am very proud to be an African. Get over yourself. LOL
CultureRe: Soulja Boy Shouts Out Slave Masters by naijadiva2(f): 9:52pm On Oct 13, 2010
"Oh wait! Hold up! Shout out to the slave masters! Without them we'd still be in Africa. We wouldn't be here to get this ice and tattoos."
I can't stand when ppl say that. I mean, get a new line, sheesh. Just like when i was taking sociology (class) and some dumb boy made the statement " well im happy that slavery happened cuz i'll still be in africa" then the dumb un-qualified reject "professor" responded "*laughs a bit* me too" LIke WTFFFFhuh And these are ppl who have never left the city but get all their "facts" from T.V.
