I get my coconut oil from tropical traditions online. Its liike $25 a jar but they usually have sales. But i might stop buying from there and just get it from GNC for like $10 (If i remember correctly). and i use the liquid soad from dr. bronners (lavender). can get it at target, whole foods (im sure) vitamin shoppe/gnc or vitacost.com.

Well most Nigerians are not always willing to assist their fellow Nigerians. Rather the look for ways in which you can be of assistance to them then they dismiss you like you are not important. It is a good way to network but the best thing is to know your limit with them. Other Africans are always assisting their fellow people. I just the traits are with some and not all.
I wouldn't say that. Maybe where u are, but where i am, nigerians are very helpful to each other. true u have the not so good ones, but for the most part nigerians here have been good. As for the other africans, they usually integrate well with the nigerians because we are so homely. Some africans here dont get along with each other(not gonna say who) but love nigerians. So I would pass such judgement bcuz your friend had a bad experience. But atleast now, she can learn from it and know who to trust.
TravelRe: Nigerians In Toronto? by naijadiva2(f): 5:13pm On Oct 07, 2010
Sorry to hear that about your friend. hope all is going well for them. that is true, u have to becareful with whom you meet. When u are in a foreign land u have to to be quick and alert or else those around you even those u "trust" will take you for granted bcuz u may appear weak.

Why can't Nigerian be independent? You go to a new place and the next thing is "I want to meet Nigerians" and these same people will be the ones complaining that Nigerians abroad are bad.
Its not a bad thing. It can help with networking.
FashionRe: Daily Beauty Rotuine by naijadiva2(f): 4:48pm On Oct 07, 2010
I guess mine is simple.

Night time, b4 bed:

I wash my face with a bar of dove soap for sensitive skin. Pat dry. Use coconut oil to moisturize face. (I started using Olive oil this week so i'll see how that goes. So far so good.)

Morning time:

Brush teeth, Take shower with dr.bonners castile liquid soap. I don't wash my face with it bcuz its a bit harsh for the face but excellent for the body. To clean my face in the morning, I use a warm wet towel only, no soap bcuz i washed face thoroughly the nite b4 and don't want to strip away natural oils from face. then i put on any moisturizer that i see laying around lol. but this week i've been using olive oil for face in morning to see how i like, so far so good.

I used Coconut oil for my body. Great stuff. put on clothes, eat breakfast, then do make up. NOthing heavy. And then im out the door.

Oh yea, almost forgot. I "try" to exfoliate atleast twice a week with St.ives apricot scrub. And thats it.
FashionRe: Someone Please Help by naijadiva2(f): 4:35pm On Oct 07, 2010
. . . Or lick your lips alot. I hear when one does it often it causes the lip or lining of lip to become dark. I don't know exactly how true it is but thats what i've been hearing and also I remember this one boy in my school when i was younger, who used to lick his lips like he was licking candy lol so bcuz of that, the outside of his lips became extremely dry, its would peel, become dark, it was like going through some sort of metamorphesus. He was young then so i don't think he cared abt using cahpsticks but im just throwing this out there.

I'm from Obazu, Mbieri grin. Where are you from?
I was born in Enugu, but since Ibo culture is patriarchal I'm from Imo State. I'm kinda in the same boat with my dad. He was born and partially raised in the north but is from Imo State. Technically speaking I'm not "fully" Igbo. My grandmother is a Cross River woman which makes my mother half Ibo. I acknowledge both my Cross River and Ibo heritage though.
yep, i knew it, we're related LOL. My mom's side is Mbieri. I dont know what Obazu is so no comment on that.

As a matter of fact, love is not all about hieght Nigeria. Its all about exposure & money. Think about two Nigerian Artists, Chinedu & Osita Iheme (known as Aki & Pawpaw), girls are following them like flies cuz of their puplicity & wealth.
Im sorry, but with their fame and money I still couldn't get down with them.

I already told you guys that people know their family history very well in Igboland, these people do not have any Europeans in their family, if they did they'd say so. Many of these Europeans were stationed in specific areas, many of them were in Igboland in the late 1800's and no earlier, which means that their presence in their family tree is even more detectable. All of them were men, and I know you people aren't telling me that a white man assimilated into an Igbo village. There are similar cases of this in Nigeria, it doesn't mean European ancestry.
oh-kayyy, u didn't tell me tongue, probably missed that one grin but anyways, what i am saying is not "stamped" in the book of "know-alls". was just stating a possibility.

Yep. My driver instructor was from haiti and after seeing my last name, he automatically knew that i was of igbo descent. How did he know? He said that they have lots of igbo ppl in haiti. Maybe thats why these haitians keep speaking to me in french like i understand them LOL, they dont even ask first if im haitian or do i speak french or both.

Okay, im liking the convo in this thread.
I did not say that there isn't anything like Yoruba Brasilian. A person can be a Brasilian and be Yoruba. Being Brasilian is just a nationality, NOT an ethnicity. You used the term "typical Brasilian Yoruba guy" as though being Brasilian and Yoruba were two different ethnic groups. Anyone can be part of an ethnic group and have a different nationality. What I was trying to say is that your using them as though they are one in the same. I have a friend who has a Bedouin father and Black Brasilian mother. She was raised in Palestine and has a Palestinian accent. Her being raised in Palestine doesn't change the fact that she is of Brasilian heritage. Does she need to have a Brasilian accent to be considered Brasilian? There is a huge different between ethnicity and nationality and people in Nigeria and many other parts of the world tend to use them as though they are one in the same.
yep that is so true. I wish people would know the difference btween the two. Be consistant. Just like i "dislike" when ppl say "I'm half black and dominican" LOL and their dominican side is afro-dominican. and i've heard ppl say "i'm half white and german" Yea , technically i know what they are saying but still. . . . . .

@Inked nerd
Off-topic, but we could so be best friends in real life. . . lol (dont mind me)

These Igbotic people? White from where? huh
what was that for? It is true, just like u may have a white couple who may give birth to a black child. it has happened. I do not think that there is anyone on the face of this earth who has "pure" european blood, or "pure" african blood, or "pure" asian blood. Thats reality so ppl shouldnt be shocked by stories such as this one. genetics does not care if you are the blackest black or the whitest white, it is gonna do its thing, period!

im still kinda in the "ugly" stage. its not short enough to look cute but not long enough to style into a cute style. when i wear twist, they are short and not all that. but whatever, i deal with it. I can't wait until my hair gets longer so that i can do all the cute natural styles. even my twistouts look funny undecided.
