oga Napolean, wow I fit be your 4th pikin sef! Thank you very much for your detailed responses as always. You are very right, I have ann acct with 1 of those big places and I'm not really impressed. Its one thing to pass info to the office folks, its another thing for the traders in that office to execute well or on time. The thing I've noticed as being prevalent with the 2 diff accts I have is the lack of response when stocks arent bought, the office folks prefer to ignore as they await answer from the trader. Times like this I wish I knew the MD so that I'd work with him, and he'd assign someone to me, who for wanting to impress MD would be running around executing.
Its just much harder for those of us not in naija, if to say I dey naija, all this would not be happening.

@ all, UBA DAILY STOCK BID ATTACHED

@beginner, abeg buy my COSTAIN from me at N75, infact if you give me N100, I'll sell my small quantity to u right now grin, even RoughCut go sell ALL of his own! Fundamentals ke, understanding how the NSE works is the rule of the game oooh, now its 1st half of the year so different ball game, when bears come, we fit talk, fundamentals never push my banking stocks in over 3mths!! tongue

@kolatk, depend on your investment horizon, I got in 2 weeks ago, and I think I've made 35% or so since then, short timers will soon start cashing out anyday now, I believe right around the N8 mark cause there are many who bought at N4. My target goal is N10 or so, so I'm chilling on my own.

You are welcome, it's always good to pause and LISTEN.

Looks like the bears are showing their faces a little, and as usual the "fundamentaless" stocks (oyinbo) are bearing the brunt first.
I issued sale mandate for my UBA and FCMB, I don tire for now, I'll get back in them later, for now, even if the money earns 25% it'll be way better than what they've earned me the past 3mths, -5% grin

SuperGuy:
This is just my thought please.
If you have held on to UBA since, I will strongly advise you wait
for another 5wks when the q2 result is expected, this should do the magic
for UBA. This is just the way I feel.
5 weeks ke, there are many companies i'm seeing that in 5 weeks time frame right now I can make 25-50% ooooo
Its not that serious, I can always buy it for same price range then. grin
its Q3 that moves bank stocks abi Fof2 talk am b4
Q2 wont do much for UBA
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by Naijadr: 11:51pm On Mar 05, 2008
Pumping God bless u, for the past week, I've been looking at my UBA in my portfolio and de thing dey vex me, since Dec. I've been contemplating selling, even this morning sef so you are right, I'm selling 2morrow, I can buy it back again in June or July sef and it'll still be the same yeye N49-N51 grin and I'd prob have gained 50-100% sef tongue

Ha Tufiakwa spreadsheet profit ke? God forbid bad thing. grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

Yes o even you go fit enter again before they release FYE results. So timing is very critical as soon as they don close register na im be say na signal to begin take profit be that
So makes sense that price is climbing, some folks are trying to get in so they can qualify for supposed bonus (if any) and dividends, another NSE cultural element grin
register will prob close same time PO is listed that 3rd week of march or so, so another 2 weeks max of enjoyment dey!
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by Naijadr: 7:54pm On Mar 05, 2008
RoughCut:
You don dey put motor for reverse o FYE is March! grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

So you can sell towards the end of March just by the time the shares are listed and hopefully the profit takers will help to push down the price a bit so we can enter again as FYE results are expected around May
Ahh yes now, since its march it wont be released till may-june, so if we sell by end of march. Profit takers will bring price down in April abi?
Say NO to spreadsheet profit grin

@ WindyWendy, my dear sister, thanks, ese o, dalu so, nagode tongue for that response regarding COSTAIN, I'll def be selling before PO certs are listed, I even forget say na N13 shocked I'll sell oh, that might be another reason price is going up to help with the slight free fall, at this rate by end of March price could be hovering around N70, I'm so selling grin Then buying back in April, maybe it'll drop down to N50 in preparation for the climb towards June for release of FY.
RoughtCut abeg claim your millions ooooo, come rain or shine, "edumacation" must be paid for! grin

Folks,

A friend of mine in Nigeria expressed his frustrations about the happenings in the Nigeria Stock Market domain, and I thought that could not be true. One of his numerous complaints was that the brokers now have to grease the palms of the guys working in the registrar's office to validate the share certificates; sort of finding a way of being employed, even a s a cleaner, and the money will be rolling in. That might have accounted for why transactions now take longer to reflect in the CSCS account.

Has anyone succeeded in accessing his/her transaction price information in the CSCS account? I have not been successful with this.

Meanwhile, this might be the right time to board the TransCorp train, as I believe the stock will bounce back after the dust is fully settled.
huhMy broda shine your eye well, there are many other opportunities in the NSE that arent wasting away in hell, abeg jump on other trains to heaven o grin
Meanwhile its been like 6-7 weeks sef and cscs hasnt opened my online acct

A reminder of how blessed we are, see as 50% returns is something ever so rare in the Western markets.

Lesson 3: Look where no one else is looking
I think this applies to us, places like Naija and true emerging markets

I doubt that Bigtreat will hit N10, but you never know with the way the market is performing these days. Imagine Alumaco at 21, meanwhile a bank like FCMB with waaaayyyy better fundamentals and prospects is trading at below 20 shocked However if today's trading numbers are anything to go by, Bigtreat traded as low as it could possibly trade and almost touched the highest it could possibly trade at. Average price was 11.12 so it's looking like 11 might be a support price. There's no significant difference between 10 and 11, so I suggest you start buying at 11 if you want to do a quick cico on the stock.

@Highlander: I don't know where niwicable will be headed to, and I don't know when either. That na bigboylarry question grin Howeve they're projecting PAT of 500m so you decide what value you want to place on the stock.
FCMB sigh, I keep looking at mine like what is this? In due time, they'll def deliver, Alumaco at 21 is madness!! shocked
I just calculated NIWICABLE's speculated price/true value and all I can say is WOW shocked infact I cant even post it on here, no money to buy till later in march, for medium term
