its a good site posted on here over the weekend. it is good for beginning to understand candlesticks. However, not enough patterns or explanations.
if u want to effectively use it to trade i would suggest u get the book by Greg Morris called Cnadlestick charting explained. Goldmine!!. the bible of candlestick charting outside of sakata's own candlestick charting book.

@kayodeus

oloruko egbon mi! u go pay o! cheesy cheesy try this charting site and type in candlestick charting- stockcharts.com
thanks so much, I'll get it, even got to preview the book through google books here, appears 1st 55pages of the book is on there smiley

@kayodus, I used to use apti and metastock, but that was taking time, nigeriansecurities.com has a great TA tool now going back 2yrs, they started that part like end of 2007 so I stopped importing data.
That candlesticks website was posted withn the past week b4 by someone, and I bookmarked it, excellent site, it has proved right for all stocks on my portfolio for most part.

@ posters, lets be mindful of language we use to refer to folks on here. This thread has invaluable knowledge and wealth, just about 99% of what I know about the NSE, I learned from this thread.

For the newbies, there isnt always an easy short cut route available, it appears people are mad or disappointed because they want folks to say hey buy stock A B C this week.

In the past while that might have been good, most people would come back and get bad when things dont happen as was speculated, or people realized that stocks were getting out of reach once announced on here prior to buying.

People are volunteering here, they are not obligated to be on here at all, so no need for attacking them when u post and dont get a reply, sometimes its because frankly not enough time, or simply they forgot. Many times I see folks saying aaah so and so is ignoring my posts or emails, as if you are paying them to respond.

Sha I hope I can get that oil company on time, or that insurance or those 2 other companies wey others don talk for here the last few days wink

The private placement for Orient Petroleum Plc is still on, this is a good long term opportunity for idle funds. Orient are the only indigenous company granted permission to build private refineries amongst the other 12 to actually commence building the project.

The minimum subscription is 1,000 units of N100 each i.e. N100,000, and after that in multiples of 500 units.

You can submit it at any UBA branch nationwide. There's no closing date, allocation will be based on a first-come, first-served basis.
Na wa o, like I stated last yr when it was announced, I'll say here, shine your eyes and leave Orient PP alone for now, idle money can be best spent elsewhere. I couldnt go into details then, and cant now, but somewhat of an inside perspective, but then again just my humble opinion.

The mere fact there has been very heavy trading in this stock in this last couple of weeks would suggest that some peeps still know what was in the offing which obviously is not transparent to the innocent peeps who have been unwittingly caught up in this quagmire.

I think it would take more than a board reorganisation and going on and coming off TSlost count how many times that has happened now to sort out this monstrous albatross that keeps following the NSE like a bad smell!
Shey there are levels and there are levels! The powers that be wanted a few days to sell off, and voila u have it
RIP Transcorp, hope folks no put retirement money there o, get ready for a govt wrestle that could last most of 2008 as things are sorted out, sigh

brother needs your help, opinion and analysis on above.

peace to Men of good will.
I dont see how the Elephant will give 50% in June sha but thats just me, even UBA will be more so 30% unless there's news that proves to be worth it. Wouldnt u be better doing CICO making 25% 1 place like in Diamond and then shifting it.

CultureRe: Can A Nigerian Man Be Happy With An English Wife? by Naijadr: 10:51am On Feb 14, 2008
@ poster, u'll be alright, my uncle married his Trini-British wife like 33+ years ago, and they've lived in Enugu together for almost 30yrs!! I never even realized as a kid that she wasnt Nigerian, till I got older, i mean I should have known from her skin complexion because she's mixed but I think it was the way she carried herself. In the village which they go to very very often, everyone pretty much knows her and she's very much one of us.

My other uncle married a black american, and she lived with him in lagos for 20yrs, matter of fact she's one of the better wives married into the fam, and she doesnt speak Igbo. I used to laugh when she'd come for the village meetings, and then have my mom or aunties interprete for her grin You couldnt tell Auntie C nothing, she came in and got very comfy, and we all love her that! I think what really matters is your level of interaction with everyone, the homely u are, the easier it will be. Auntie C did pick up some Igbo words, but when u say stuff she doesnt understand, she'll just keep a smile, and later turn to one of us and ask quietly, "what did they just say", then play it off, 27yrs later, she still rocks!

Dont worry much, from your posts u seem like a great woman, I'm sure your husband knows that, and its his right to look after u, my Igbo people love them some kids so u already satisfied it with 5 grin and looks like u already have given them their male child, so case closed!! cheesy
Learn to cook some of the native soups well be it onugbu (if he's from anambra) or oha (if he's from abia) or some mean nsala, or master the skills of making tasty abacha or ugba. Whatever u know how to make, make it your specialty, make enough for everyone, and your house will be forever full with family "well wishers" who will sing praises of this their oyinbo wife!!

BGL has an online portal? Didn't know that! Anyway, I've never used it and wouldn't know if it's working. I send my mandates by email and follow up daily by both phone and email. I use FSDH more for my bigger transactions and they have an online portal.

Stocks for the 3 - 6mth timeframe?? Hmmm, that's the million dollar question innit? cheesy I'll have to get back to you on that one.
oh ok, I'll prob just stick with email/phone cause my broker na my sister grin

since all the big men and women are coming out of the woodworks abeg anything for a 3mth or 6mth time frame. I think I'll just leave my BGL acct for trading due to efficiency, and use my UBA for my long term one.

The best way for me to answer this question is to let you understand why Oceanic does not meet my objectives NOW. I sold every unit of Oceanic I have in my trading and long term portfolios and thank God I did.

Oceanic is a sound long term stock. However, I don't want to buy a stock today if I can get it around the same price in a months time. For that reason I have no interest in Oceanic now. I will use my money for those stocks that if I don't get today, getting them at current prices go become palava.

So I no talk say Oceanic no be better stock o. They don't get any better but make I go catch the train wey dey ready to depart instead make I siddon inside coach of train wey them still dey fix the engine grin grin
pumping we dey same time zone, abi u no dey sleep abi na your NSE portfolio alarm wake up grin

I agree, I'm sure if I knew about UBA now, I would have held of purchasing in Dec and would have prob gained at least 35% elsewhere since then and then purchased now.

Is is too late to joing the Dunlop Plc cruise ? I placed orders for the shares when it was @N4.82 and couldnt get any to buy. I am trying to accumulate the shares against 2009 (based on my candlestick analysis).

Does anyone have a curent list of (the top ten) undervalued stock (apart from Dangote Sugar) ?

Why does Robert Kiyosaki frown against investment in stock (with a preference for Real Estate) ? He advises in the 'Cash Flow Quadrant', that you should be the one floating the Stock instead for others to buy and not to be the one buying from others. Any contributions ?
thats cause Kiyosaki hasnt discovered the NSE yet cheesy
