If you must have a house help and since there is seed of distrust amongst the couple, it is best to decide the gender based on who spends more time with the help. As in, if the husband spends more time at home, it is better to get a male help and vice versa.

Someone I know used to leave his wallet on the night stand and just pick it up from there in the morning when he used to leave for work. He never checked his wallet since he knew nobody would take money without informing him. On one such day, was stopped on his way to work by the traffic police for violating traffic rules. He was asked to pay some fine and upon checking his wallet, he found it was empty! Obviously someone back home took the money without permission.

In your case it would be nice to tell him you've taken what you wanted after you have taken it so that he doesn't end up in an embarrassing situation like the one stated above.

I dont know Ivynwa in person or otherwise. But the statement that Jennykadri made about not finding a man and there upon not having a child seriously bothered me. Shouldn't we be appreciting her for not falling for all and sundry who came her way and instead wait for the right person ?

Remember, it is for god to give someone a husband/child and the same god can take it all back before you could even wink your eyes.

JK mentioned in her previous posts about having a good mother who teaches the value of blah blah blah (there again she insulted somebody's mother, doesn't that count at all because the poster is a foreigner?? As touching as it may look, I now have some doubts about this picture.

1) Why does the woman's stomach look like a piece of crumbled aluminium sheet? I have personally witnessed surgeries and tummies dont look like that (unless you are operating on a 90yr old)

2) The organ that is being operated is partially placed on top of green piece of cloth ?

3) Spina bifida is not fatal.

Somehow I feel she is not an Indian. Her posts sounds so much like someone who has been on Nairaland for a long time ! And not once she has replied to any of the posts in Indian language.

Well, long back parents had to be only respected and more importantly feared. You would think twice about sharing an innocent joke with your father, talkless of being friendly !
But in today's world where any information is available at the tip of your fingers, one needs to be very cautious about what your child learns and how they perceive it. Things we learned as teenagers are nursery rhymes these days One has to be friendly with their children so that there is a mutual trust between the two of you. You as a parent should be confident enough to say "I know how far my son/daughter can go and I know they can never cross their limits". They as children should have a trust in u,should always say 'I CAN always depend on my dad/mom/parents , come what may'.

You know, they way you confide in you best friends? The same rapport should be there with your kids. That dosen't mean a father should drink with his son or a mom should share her marital issues with the daughter, I would say if not both, atleast one of the parent has to make it a point to be there for your children, emotionally lest you want them to stray away. I think it would be easier for us to correct them if there is this rapport. Be a role model and be there for them, if each parent did this the world would be a much better place.
