This is normal and they have the absolute right to demostrate for whatever they see fit and it is up to government to listen and respond appropriately. The summit is welcome. The responsibility of government is not restricted to building roads and schools but more importantly building society by ensuring all peoples remain on the table of negotiations for a social justice and equity. There is no security problem in the east except to those who wish to force their will on the peoples of that region and the economy ranks a distant second in importance to socio-political discontentment. Someone is visiting the region to promote socio-economic activity and bring insecurity problem to a halt and you are supporting demonstration. YOU MUST BE HIGH ON WEEDS. The title and the story are incongruous. Fayemi is talking about finding a new investor with the required capacity in 2017, not the plant operating at full capacity.
Having said that, if the plant can work at full capacity in 2017 that would be a wonderful achievement by the present administration

Dont get your hopes up 1%. This is absolutely not happening in Q2 2017 because this plant requires loads of replacement that had been cannibalized and vandalized to be able to work.

Secondly, some of the primary units are in several levels of completion and the utilities and facilities that support the full capacity production are not functioning well( gas pipes, rail tracks, water pipes etc).

This clearly shows that this minister either does not understand the Ajaokuta integrated Steel Plant or he is just absolutely playing with people's minds.

If The finance, will and equipment are all on site today, it could take as much as 2 years to get Ajaokuta running at full capacity
