it goes beyond my traditional rulers...it is hinged on many factors including you...

since you are familiar with the factors affecting ND region. i will advice you to find a remedy rather than accusing the govt. you guyz should hold a peaceful town hall meeting and put an end to this mess. do you think we are happy to see how devastated the oil-rich region is ?

only in Nigeria where oil host communities were played a fast one since the inception of the country...

Since that first wayo everything has gone bad..

Let's live with the madness until a sustainable structure is put in place to foster lasting Peace in the region..

Why is it that guys in that oil region doesnt want to hold their Traditional Rulers responsible till date. the people of that region knows the efforts govts has made since from time immemorial on compensating affected communities of these exploration, gas flaring etc, but they are afraid of being banished. that is why they rather blame the govt in everything after being brain-washed my community leaders

Reference:
This is normal and they have the absolute right to demostrate for whatever they see fit and it is up to government to listen and respond appropriately. The summit is welcome. The responsibility of government is not restricted to building roads and schools but more importantly building society by ensuring all peoples remain on the table of negotiations for a social justice and equity. This is where I fault the theme of the townhall. There is no security problem in the east except to those who wish to force their will on the peoples of that region and the economy ranks a distant second in importance to socio-political discontentment. The east I beleive remains at the very top of all national economic indicies, so it is not the absence of money but the paucity of opportunities. They never said they are hungry, but they are angry just like any foreign investor looks at Nigeria from abroad and returns his cash to his wallet.

So the government should go and engage, should do more listening than talking and more obeying than commanding if it will stand a chance at pulling this nation from the brink. Obasanjo has no business there.

Someone is visiting the region to promote socio-economic activity and bring insecurity problem to a halt and you are supporting demonstration. YOU MUST BE HIGH ON WEEDS. Mind you nwanne, we (our people, dont count me) claimed he didnt have any degree, he intend doing what is expected of Mr. President to do and you guyz are against his visit. We dont love ourselves, eziokwu! Can you count number of our brothers at his level, HELLO NO! Reason is that, everyone is greedy. I want to get there. We lack one Voice and Spirit.

Politics / Re: Ajaokuta Steel To Operate At Full Capacity By 2017 – FG by naijakissleave(m): 3:48pm On Dec 21, 2016
micfoley:
The title and the story are incongruous. Fayemi is talking about finding a new investor with the required capacity in 2017, not the plant operating at full capacity.
Having said that, if the plant can work at full capacity in 2017 that would be a wonderful achievement by the present administration

And Nigerians yet unborn will inherit unpaid debt by their grandfathers as we are paying that of our founding fathers

Agili:
Guys,
Dont get your hopes up 1%. This is absolutely not happening in Q2 2017 because this plant requires loads of replacement that had been cannibalized and vandalized to be able to work.

Secondly, some of the primary units are in several levels of completion and the utilities and facilities that support the full capacity production are not functioning well( gas pipes, rail tracks, water pipes etc).

This clearly shows that this minister either does not understand the Ajaokuta integrated Steel Plant or he is just absolutely playing with people's minds.

If The finance, will and equipment are all on site today, it could take as much as 2 years to get Ajaokuta running at full capacity

Is Dr. K. Fayemi one of the 10 ministers to be affected by the cabinet replacement ?

I dont need to mention names of state cuz we all know them tagged as "troubling areas" when it comes to such cases

I just like the Brand Name, very simple to identify with the State or City of production unlike our brothers using names such as Anambra Rice, Ebonyi Rice, Made in Aba this and that. We hope Enugu and Imo will not join our eastern brothers

Congrats to them. we need to produce more local items and consumables for ourselves be it in North, South, East or West. LETS GROW NAIJA

Religion / Re: Before You Criticise That Pastor by naijakissleave(m): 10:25pm On Dec 19, 2016
shestrong:
Each an everyday, it has become a trending topic, pastors are being criticised as if they r not humans. While choosing to stay voluntarily under his leadership, they commit themselves to finding and exploiting every possible imperfection.

Somebody wisely said "no one ever erected a monument to a critic" Your next church will have just as imperfect a pastor as your present church.Imperfect pastors are as epidemic as imperfect church members! criticism of ur spiritual authority opens the door for spiritual attacks.

Critics never have the full story and usually they grossly distort the few details they do have. Anybody can be a critic because everybody is imperfect !look long enough and u will find fault with everybody. Am sure if some ppl here are asked to become pastors tomorrow they will say God forbid, just because they know what pastors go through.

And why must u use these men of God pics; aint there other ones?

Igbo amaka

We are just too good for Nigeria

We are the best so far.

In terms of handsomeness/beauty, business ideas, investment, being classy etc. We are number one.

No wonder the hatred so far. Hatred born out of envy, jealousy and inferiority complex.

God bless the Igbo race, her people of various clans and dialects. God bless Igbo lovers and well wishers just like He blesses the Igbos.

Nigeria will be a great nation only when they start loving the Igbos. You can't hate great people and expect to be great.

The problem of Nigeria is that she sees the solution to her problem as the source of her problem. With this mindset, the country has a very very long way to go.

Let's Nigeria work in harmony with the Igbos to make this nation a great one.

Some people like you needs to Grow Up if u are above 25yrs old. What diff does it make if she is from another tribe or country? Hiaa digusting & childish attitude by ranting here and there

This is an indication to show that states like Rivers, Kogi, Plateau etc are pre-mature when it comes to civic democracy in Nigeria. i will term/tag these states as hostile & dangerous areas due to their level of understding + orientation during Election process be it the Presidential down to Councillorship
