Phones4 Reasons Why Nokia Will Beat Other Smartphone Companies In Nigeria This Year by NaijaTechGuy(op): 2:56pm On Jan 24, 2017
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Dqc3NFWoh2E/WIdQhv3LIsI/AAAAAAAAHm8/uETqi8bDsAE/%25255BUNSET%25255D.jpg

In the past six months a lot has been going on in the smartphone world and we all have seen a lot of new designs and features. Some designs worked while some failed. We saw Google's abandoned modular project - Project Ara, The LG G5's modular design, Motorola's Moto Mods, Samsung’s Grenades (Note 7's) and Xiaomi's Mi Mix with a Bezeless Design.

In the Nigerian scene, Transission Holdings which owns Tecno, Infinix And Itel has not failed to surprise us with sleek devices.

You can agree with me that the Tecno Phantom 6 Plus was amazing though I never got a hands on review but the specs  I saw on other tech blogs were amazing but the pricing was a little bit off the bar. The Infinix Hot S was good as well.

Products by Apple, Google and South Korean Giants, Samsung are mostly what the rich folks go for these days. They've managed to keep that space by releasing top notch devices - the Samsung Galaxy S7, Google Pixel and iPhone 7.

Gionee, Huawei And Xiaomi are also doing averagely well in the Nigerian market.

You may ask - How Does Nokia Come Into The Picture?

Nokia’s biggest mistake was signing an agreement with Microsoft and they're definitely learning from their mistakes. Nokia is coming back to the Android scene this year and it's smartphones will be handled by HMD Global and Foxconn (a company who produces iPhones  for Apple as well). I think they'll beat other smartphone manufacturers in Nigeria if they play their cards right.

I know Some Apple Fan Boys and Tecno Fan boys will come for me like :
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-ZU-aFlLiMQo/WIdQeR2BNNI/AAAAAAAAHm4/3FgQ5neLk8I/%25255BUNSET%25255D.gif

But before that here are my reasons-

1  Artificial Intelligence

AI is the next generation of technology and it's something even new device should definitely have. Nokia is allegedly coming with its own AI assistant named Viki to make it the 4th smartphone company with an AI assistant for its devices.
The only Android smartphone that can compete with it in this area is the Samsung Galaxy S8 which will be coming with its new AI as well (Bixby).

Artificial intelligence helps users with various tasks on their device and can even control an entire house and gadgets if your home has a lot of IOT devices.

List Of Smartphone Companies With AI Support

Apple - Siri
Microsoft - Cortana
Google - Google Assistant
Nokia - Viki
Samsung - Bixby

I would have added Amazon's Alexa to the list but it's not a smartphone company.

2. Popularity

Tecno, Infinix And Gionee are much popular than Nokia smartphones because literally Nokia has no Android devices. The Nokia X and Nokia XL was a disaster so I'd rather not classify it an android phone. However in general, Nokia is still very popular, Most people who have two devices prefer using a Nokia phone as the secondary phone.

No matter what, the name Nokia still has that  special place in the hearts of mobile phone users in Nigeria. It hurt so much to see Nokia lose its place to other OEM's but with the kind of devices Nokia is planning on releasing this year, they'll certainly give other OEMs a run for their money.

3. Massive Advertising Budget

Nokia is planning a huge come back this year and they've budgeted almost $500 million dollars for just advertisements globally.

That's a massive amount of money. Other OEM's won't budget too much since they already have a certain place in the market already.

4. Updated Software

All new Nokia devices will be running on Android 7.0 and Nokia is reportedly working very closely with Google on their devices meaning that Nokia phones will definitely have a form of support from bug fixes to software updates via OTA unlike some of the other OEMs that release updates once in a blue moon.

Some wait till pigs fly before they send updates.

Nokia is planning to change all that.

TappGroupNG:
Nokia and their windows partnership did not go well. How many people are using Lumia without complaining.
I've used Lumia and I remember how complicated it was to use that phone. Had to switch to my tecno because of the Andriod ios
Nokia Will Definitely Knock Tecno Out.. The first 3 days had up to 1 million orders for the phone In China.

That's a massive Milestone.. After the MWC. Tecno may have to keep up with Nokia's pace to succeed.

They're extremely cute but these set of ladies can clear an entire bank with just a set of computers. Let me introduce the most beautiful hackers in the world - With a combination of beauty, brains and sex appeal. You certainly won't want to mess with them.

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-zX6G7Gegsn0/WIL4VRwjuLI/AAAAAAAAHho/_bDIgPdbbjY/%25255BUNSET%25255D.jpg

Adeanna Cooke

She is a hacker and former playmate . An old friend of hers decided to pose on the internet as her and started taking money for doing so.

This did not go down well with her. If there was anyone who was going to be making money off her body, it was going to be her.

She came across an unauthorized website with her pictures, then she took matters into her own hands and hacked into the account herself to take them down the photos.

After the successful attempts, Cooke also used her hacking skills to help others in similar situations
She was also known as the "Hacker Fairy" to other  women being taken advantage of on the Internet.

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-9mhLaLO-i2o/WIL4V8Q8ebI/AAAAAAAAHhs/2SoBv5dh6qA/%25255BUNSET%25255D.jpg

Ying Cracker

Ying teaches people the basics of hacking; things like changing your IP address or wiping Office passwords

Who doesn't want to learn how to hack from a beautiful chic ?

She was first noticed in a Chinese Hackers' forum post that got her noticed and created a huge fan base for her.

Her work is quite impressive as well. She's an expert in writing hacking software and charges a lot of money for simple courses on  hacking tools.

She usually makes about $2000 per month in the hacking business and for that, she certainly deserves your respect.

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-itimULgo40w/WIL4WmCsdwI/AAAAAAAAHhw/uNehiUIWpHg/%25255BUNSET%25255D.jpg

Kristina Svenchiskaya

Kristina was a student at The New York University and is a money mule hacker.

She attempted to defraud several British and U.S. banks of millions of dollars using a Trojan horse malware. With collective team efforts, she earned a sum of more than $3 million by opening fake bank accounts and using fake passports.

Kristina was later arrested in 2011 but released after signing a bond and paying $25,000 as bail.

If she had been convicted, she could have been imprisoned for more than 40 years.

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Sg19Tt2uMLI/WIL4XBqiSJI/AAAAAAAAHh0/eWo4I4CE1u8/%25255BUNSET%25255D.jpg

Raven Adler

Ravel Alder is certainly one of the most gifted and intelligent hackers who's using her education for good use. She was the first female to give a presentation at DefCon, one of the worlds most prestigious gatherings of hackers .

She currently helps corporations protect their data and other sensitive information. She is also a consultant, lecturer and author who deals in hacking and computer security.

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-O24zd0R0-F8/WIL4X9hryQI/AAAAAAAAHh4/rgym45V9QTc/%25255BUNSET%25255D.jpg

Kim Vanvaeck

Kim also known as Gigabyte, the Belgium national is well known for developing many high caliber viruses that target hardwares and subsequently destroy sensitive information.

She wrote her first virus when she was 14.  She wrote the viruses not to gain money but to cement her position in a group of hackers that are dominated by men. She wanted to prove to the world that women too can write viruses and can be dangerous hackers, unlike what the world knows it to be. Her virus, Sharp, is credited to being the first virus ever written in C Sharp.

Vanvaeck was later arrested when she was aged 17 but was out on bail in 24 hours due to her minor status.

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Bpxs3eNDHXA/WIL5OGrKGCI/AAAAAAAAHiI/41FBbjOaIlc/%25255BUNSET%25255D.jpg

Xiao Tian

Tian formed the female hacking group called “China Girl Security Team,” as she felt that there was no other outlet for teenage girls like her in the male-dominated world of hacking.

Her group has  ties with some of the most notorious hacking organisations in the world and has become one of the largest Chinese-based hacking groups.

As with most well-known and outspoken groups of this nature, Tian and the rest of China Girl Security Team continue to receive attention from national and international police organizations due to their activities.

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-BMmMyV9o_Rw/WIL5O4SXbaI/AAAAAAAAHiM/lkQ3W7PluAg/%25255BUNSET%25255D.jpg

Anna Chapman

Anna was a Russian hacker who lived in New York City before she was arrested, along with nine others in 2010. She was accused of working for the Illegals Program spy ring under the Russian Federation’s external intelligence agency.

Chapman pleaded guilty to a charge of conspiracy to act as an agent of a foreign government without notifying the U.S. Attorney General, and was deported to Russia, as part of a prisoner swap. She also lost her U.S. citizenship.

PhonesSandisk Unveils 256GB SD Card For N60,000. Will You Buy It? by NaijaTechGuy(op): 7:11am On Jan 19, 2017
We all love our expandable storage, and microSD cards keep getting quite affordable.

However, note that not all microSD cards have similar performance, and some of them may not be recommended for your Android smartphone and tablet. That’s why the SD Association just announced a new micro SD certification method to help buyers select proper cards for their Android devices.

SanDisk has also unveiled the largest microSD card to receive the A1-certification for Android devices.
A1, stands for App Performance Class 1. It's a classification meant to ensure that apps will run properly when installed on a microSD card instead of a device’s main storage. “The A1 spec allows the new card to manage random read input-output access per second (IOPS) of 1,500 and write IOPS of 500, so it can quickly open apps and process accompanying tasks, such as audio, graphics, saved profiles and in-app permissions.

SanDisk’s new 256GB UHS-I card will be available worldwide for $199.99(N60,000)The card is to deliver “premium transfer speeds of up to 95MB/s,” according to SanDisk, which is pretty much on par with the company’s previous 256GB microSD card. But now SanDisk’s 256GB microSD card has A1 certification markings, as seen in the image above. SanDisk says the new Ultra microSD card with A1 “is designed to provide consumers a faster, more powerful app experience using cards.”

In 2016, SanDisk announced the world’s fastest 256GB microSD cards, including the Extreme (transfer speeds of up to 100MB/s, and write speeds of up to 90MB/s) and Ultra (premium transfer speeds of up to 95MB/s) models. If you happen to own either one, you won’t have to ditch them in favor of a card that has A1 written on it since they’ll offer you the exact same performance.

Picture this,  you wake up one morning, the weather's cool and you're sipping a hot cup of coffee or tea. You think to yourself , "Nothing could possibly go wrong".

It suddenly occurs to you that you have to make a post on your blog. After making the post you discover lots of errors on your blog.

The blog posts you set to display 20 posts on your homepage are now displaying just 3, your blog link is messed up in social media and blog post images don't display on your posts on Facebook.

You're already imagining if your village people remembered you that morning while your direct blog competitors are like :

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-P0WeDpOjjfY/WHxdbB_jymI/AAAAAAAAHR8/uTldwvjJ1fE/1484511919196.gif

Well don't worry I've been there too. I'll teach you how to walk through the problems like a boss.. Literally

How You'll Be Feeling After This Post

So here are the most common design issues and possible fixes.

#1. Number Of Blog Posts Suddenly Showing Less Than What You Set

This is the most common problem bloggers on encounter and it's very frustrating and embarrassing. Visitors to your blog now see 2 or 3 posts on your homepage meanwhile the initial setting was about 15 or higher. Sometimes you may try changing the template but it doesn't still work. I think this error is probably caused when blogger has an issue interpreting some of your posts. Especially when you copy a post from other sites

There are 2 ways to fix this issue :

A. Find The Post That Caused The Error :

If you can remember the last posts you made before the template got disorganized carefully check through all of them by reverting them to drafts and republishing one after the other and refreshing your web page after you publish each one. You'll definitely find out the offending post.

B. Add A Jump Break Immediately After The Top Image

You can do this by editing your post from the blogger dashboard. Scan through the top menu you should see an icon that looks like a torn piece of paper -  that's the jump break.

Place your cursor below your image then tap on the icon. Repeat this for about 15 posts then refresh your blog page and see the results

#2.Blog Links Not Displaying Well On Social Media

This part is very technical, please if you aren't good in HTML avoid doing this without consulting an experienced  webmaster. I'm also available to help at an affordable cost.

Most social media pages make use of the Open Graph protocol which help them to retrieve data from a web page. Without the Open Graph protocol in place or if there are errors , social networks may not be able to access your posts properly.

By Default, Most Blogger Templates come With Open Graph Tags but some templates have faulty open graph tags. To know if your site has issues, use the Facebook URL Debug Tool to analyze it. If you see more than 2 errors after the analysis then you certainly need to work on your Blog's Open Graph Tags.

To access the URL debugger simply google  up - Facebook URL Debug Tool. You'll need to sign in to your Facebook account to use this. To get the best results, open your blog on one tab and the URL Debug Tool on another tab. After editing your Open Graph Tags, save your template, wait for about 5 minutes then tap on scrape on the debug tool page to see the results.

I added the format of the Open Graph protocol on my blog and how to set it up. I don't want to get banned by the spam bot.

Note : Here's why I said you need an expert to do this if you're not too good in HTML. See the screenshot of My blog after I messed up an Open Graph Tag. Luckily I keep backups so I restored it back immediately. You might not be so lucky.

#3 Images Showing Too Large On Home Page

This is usually caused when you copy an image from another site and place it as the first image of your blog post  The solution to this is simple, just edit the post,  save the image from the page you copied the image from then re-upload the image to your post. You could just simply reduce the size of the image to medium.

#4 Blog Loading Slowly

There are a couple of things that could slow down your blog load time. Even Google understands that, so that's why Adsense ads are shown in the Async format so it won't affect load time on your blog.

Remove unnecessary widgets and Javascript codes, then test your site speed with tools like Pingdom or Google Site Speed.

Summary

There are a whole lot of issues with blog design on but I think I've highlighted the most common ones.  If you have questions kindly use the comment box. I'd also like to know other problems you're facing so I can posts a possible solution.

Happy Blogging

So it's quite possible you'd see some posts like that on my blog. So I'm not implying that I've never copied any post. I never stated that in my post.
