If you really want to stop getting addicted to social media you have to be disciplined and committed. It's usually very difficult to get rid of any form of addiction.

You'll definitely feel anxious when you have not logged in for 24 hours because you think you are obviously missing out on important updates. After awhile you realize that these updates are not so important.

#1.Deactivate Your Social Media Accounts

If you don’t want to permanently delete your social media account simply deactivate it. Most accounts can be deactivated. Just scroll to the settings and deactivate it for several days. You can focus on yourself but still remain connected with the social media. After you take a break then you can activate it. This helps you to gain some sort of control.

#2.Turn Off Notifications

If you don’t want to deactivate your account you can simply turn off the notifications. This will help you reduce the urge to check your phone every time you hear a beep. Notifications can be very distracting. It is very common for people to pause their conversations and activities just to check their notifications.

#3.Try To Establish Boundaries

Train yourself to be disciplined by establishing boundaries. Only check your social media accounts at certain periods. Also, give yourself a time limit. For example, only spend one hour or less on social media.

#4.Get a hobby to keep you busy

Find a hobby and entertain yourself. This will help you to reduce the amount of time you dedicate to social media.Think about things you enjoy doing and start doing them. Give social media a break.

#5.Spend more time with family and friends

Forget social media when you hang out with your family and friends. Surround yourself with people who make you forget that you even have a cell phone. You will be happier in the presence of wonderful people than sitting on the bed with your phone scrolling through Instagram and Snapchat.

WebmastersHow Mark Zuckerberg Is Slowly Killing Off Snapchat by NaijaTechGuy(op):
A while ago, Mark Zuckerberg offered $3 Billion Dollars to buy Snap Inc from Evan Spiegel but his offer was refused . Evan Spiegel who's just 25 years old had first received an email from Zuckerberg in 2012 concerning Snapchat before it went viral. Here's a snapshot of the email.

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-lBdnEEn5ZuY/WNC_iNqUydI/AAAAAAAAISY/sOZvIGOsjVI/s640/%25255BUNSET%25255D.jpg

After Snapchat rejected Zuckerberg's buyout offer. Mark decided to bring the game to them, placing business on level terms. Mark took one of the features that made Snapchat stand out and expanded it to more people on his own platforms. I'll liken Mark to Pinky and the Brain-

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-K0xF2tvLlL0/WNC_jpEWQqI/AAAAAAAAISg/udrCpMhRHYY/s640/%25255BUNSET%25255D.jpg

The first blow to Snapchat was kicked off on Instagram which has over 600 million monthly active users, compared with Snapchat’s 150 million daily users. Instagram launched its own Instagram Stories just eight months ago and has already hit that same 150 million daily-user level.

The direct connection with Instagram and Facebook helped Instagram to reach that feat in such a short time. This reduced Snapchat's growth from 12% to 3%.
Snap Inc might have thought it might just stop at Instagram but Mark wasn't still satisfied with the results, he decided to open up the floodgates

The stories were added on Facebook Messenger and Whatsapp, which have billions of users. Also the stories are also coming to the main Facebook app as well. Snapchat still has a few perks Facebook hasn't copied yet but may soon copy. If Snapchat doesn't do anything, anytime soon it will become a place we all once knew.

Let's keep our fingers crossed and see what Snap Inc Comes up with to save their social network.

seriously I haven't watched the movie.. But one fact I know well is that most of the movies are adaptations of real things.Check kyle xy and the US government secrets they were leaking or The Flash and the physics calculations they're applying. Hollywood is definitely not nollywood. Everything is an adaptation of something real somewhere. It's just reverse psychology. The more you look the less you see.

Remember Google's Virtual Assistant (Google Assistant) that was previously available on only Pixel devices, it's now going to available on Android Devices running on 6.0 (Marshmallow) and 7.0 (Nougat). Android 5.1 users will be looking at this post like:

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Lra74EdeYV0/WLSR1CyLzdI/AAAAAAAAIKw/AVh0e4aQSNg/s640/%25255BUNSET%25255D.gif

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-uv5_DATM6ZY/WLSR1-VbX1I/AAAAAAAAIK0/H8ANTLbMN5k/s640/%25255BUNSET%25255D.gif

The personal assistant will be rolled out first to users in the US, then followed by English users in Australia, Canada, the UK, then other English speaking countries . German-speaking users in Germany can expect it around the same time too.

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-tzk44r-HaIQ/WLSR0vI9vJI/AAAAAAAAIKs/NrkDlyxXZwk/s640/%25255BUNSET%25255D.jpg

Users will begin seeing Google Assistant as it's gradually being rolled out through a Google Play Services update.

I'm just wondering if Google Assistant will come preloaded on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus, alongside Samsung's own new Bixby assistant.

It may sound like a scene from a Hollywood movie but it's true. Seven people from all over the world hold the keys to worldwide internet security. Here's how the keys work -

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-rSIkP_EC8rc/WMCwQSm3SKI/AAAAAAAAIN0/fXcpN7mi0y8/s640/%25255BUNSET%25255D.jpg

Each of the keys access a safety deposit box, which in turn holds a smartcard, which combines with every other smartcard to generate a master key. That master key controls one of the internet's central security measures known as the domain-name system, or DNS. DNS is what makes it possible for you to enter a web address, like http://www.google.com, instead of typing in the IP address, such as http://74.125.24.72.

The keyholders make sure that each web address is authentic. If they don't exist, millions of fake web addresses could send people to fake and dangerous sites.

The master key can reconstruct the entire system if there's a disaster.
The question remains though -How does a person gain this much power? Just an online application.

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (Icann), the private US company that runs the system, only received 40 applications in their initial job posting for 21 positions. The criteria for choosing each keyholder was for their experience -
all have very long careers in internet security and also for their location, since there are limits on the number of keyholders any one country can have.
Here's the part that you'll definitely love if you're a techie:

Anytime the group has a meeting they undergo extreme security measures: they have to walk through two doors require a smart card, a pin code, and a hand scan in various sequences, then a third door that uses an iris scanner.

There's no limit to how long one keyholder can serve, and in the time the group has existed, only one has resigned.

If you've ever wondered how the name Bluetooth came about, I've got the answer.

Surprisingly it doesn't have anything to do with they color of the logo being blue or the symbol looking like a set of tooth. Bluetooth is named after the legendary Danish Viking King Harald Blåtand. Blåtand was an expert at bringing people together for non-violent negotiations. The way he used words went so far as uniting Denmark and Norway as a single territory. The English translation of Blåtand is blue-tooth.

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-xyXuwBxgdMY/WMCuo8JN10I/AAAAAAAAINg/uxjTZ_rvym0/s640/%25255BUNSET%25255D.jpg

According to one of the developers Jim Kardach, "the legend suited the name for the program. Harald had united Denmark and turned the Danes to Christians". Kardach also created a PowerPoint foil with a version of the Runic stone where King Harald held a cellphone in one hand and a notebook in the other hand with the translation of the Runes:

"Harald united Denmark and Norway”
“Harald thinks that mobile PC’s and cellular phones should seamlessly communicate”

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-gm4lKtE6Wqg/WMCupB7WENI/AAAAAAAAINk/tX8knW97-_Q/s640/%25255BUNSET%25255D.jpg

The name was perfect and the logo for Bluetooth depicts Blåtand’s initials inscribed in Runic symbols.

Webmasters4 Reasons Why You Should Update Your Blog Regularly by NaijaTechGuy(op): 6:47am On Mar 04, 2017
Blogging has changed how most businesses work. However, If your blog is the headquarter of the world's most boring posts, you don’t need to read further.

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-bESUP-w8OgI/WLpTn9mI2kI/AAAAAAAAIM8/T219TvsGA80/s640/%25255BUNSET%25255D.jpg

In every niche you choose you'll face high competition . Your first priority is to avoid losing your readers by hitting them with outdated content. Most readers stay glued to your site by frequently reading the new contents.
Here are some reasons why you should update your blog regularly

1. It'll Boost your Site Ranking On Google

Google prefers regularly updated content and if the relationship of Google with your blog decreases, it can be an uphill task for you to gain it back. The longer you write, the higher you rank. Remember that "Content is king".

2. Images and Structure

An amazing list post that you wrote last year with a title “6 Best kinds smartphones in Nigeria in 2016” is hardly a clickable title in 2017 while the content was interesting enough that bought tons of shares back in 2016.

Try to share it again with a little twist. Replace 2016 with 2017 with some tweaks in content and the images.

3 Readers Want To Read New Posts

If a reader always gets to see outdated information on your blog, he automatically gets builds a negative ideology in his mind. In case a reader does not find the solution to his problem, A negative impact remains in his mind and People remember negative things more than the positive ones .

4. You Attract New Readers
Assuming you have 1k daily readers today that number will increase with the time as a result of publishing content regularly.
Also, you gain email subscribers and introduce your blog to a new readers base

Most of the new readers won't know the blog posts that you published a while ago. So resurrecting old content will increase traffic from new readers.
