PoliticsRe: Buhari, Others Approve CPC Merger With ACN, ANPP by naja2: 9:45pm On Nov 12, 2012
I believe the merger will work, i also know that GMB and tinubu ar goin to step back and support Ribadu for president and fashola vice pres. this two though muslims are extremely liberal, very intelligent and extremely courageous guys, yet very modest unlike the fisherman and cattle rearer that are in charge now with their army of comic relieve aides.
PoliticsRe: Ribadu Report Didn’t Follow Terms Of Reference - Okupe by naja2: 9:58am On Nov 09, 2012
Turbocharged: How is that a credit to Ribadu's CV?
There's no how you can carry out an investigation of such magnitude without the involvement of professional Auditors and Consultants. In every audit, the keyword is "Investigation", "Verification" and "Reconciliation" of accounts and then "Recommendation" From what we hear, Ribadu only did the investigations and recommendations, leaving out the verification and reconciliation of accounts.
Ribadu went there to score cheap "Political Goals". If not, why should he leak the report to the media even before submitting it to the one that engaged his services. You guys are always amazing. The ones that were verified and reconciled what has retardeen done about it, what is Ribadu report saying dat we dont know, ur boss is pathetically corrupt ao he wont and cant fight corruption, there is no need trying to blame Ribadu for the failure of this committee cos all the reports of all the comittes set up by ur boss ve been programmed to fail cos they will never be implemented and Nigerians are no longer hoodwinked anylonger.

GEJ has actually brought goodluck to Nigerians, He has appionted some of the best brains in his cabinet, bala mohamed, adoke, deziani, rukayat. He has transformed our education, our health system is the best now, infact plane crash victims now recieve treatment in the national hospital, talk about fight against corruption the GEJ has done more than any president living or dead, he has set up commitees and the comittees are working just that some people want him to fight corruption wit a iron fist but thats not his style you know, and this is just a few of his achievement what about security he has tried Nigeria is now safer, the economy is doin very well you win will grant 4800 youths upto 10m in the next four years which will translate to creating employment for 4million youths out of about 45million unemployed. what else oh! aviation he has borrowed 550m
dollars from china to refurbish 5 airport, debts will be paid by future genrations. With all this achievement i think he should be president for life! clown!

pDude: So does Ribadu look like it is $15 million that is his problem? I know it is a colossal amount for you but does he look that hungry?

Seems you have no idea of his worth. Go and do your study on Ribadu and tell me if that small change is his problem.
Dumbest comment ever, 15m dollars! dats about 2.5b naira, Gej did not need more than that to bribe his way thru at the pdp convention, where he "won" d nomination of his party.

Wadeoye: And now, the same Ribadu has gone back to work for the same government that removed him from office.

What is the problem with this man? Can't he not leave without government appointment?

You know these people very well, why must you take another appointment under them when you know they are not sincere?

Anyway, I have never trusted Ribadu...Actually i seen a lot of dumb comments but never in my short live ve i heard anyone sound this dumb, but again i see where u draw ur inspiration from, your Phd president is also like you always chatting shit!

The comments here is part of the reasons our polithiefs are stealing us to death
i fear for Nigerian! they love their theiving leadrs, they pray fot them, they make excuses for them, they now explain their stealing, Every Nation deserves the kind of leaders they get. Nothing can be truer, Nigerian will rather go unclad to protect yheir theiving leaders and even curse the whistle blower. I am shocked at the kind of mindset our leaders ve.

I think Lagosians should accept this change, 20 yrs ago there were no okadas and we were living our lives, i realy commend el rufai for havin d guts to ban okada, if not Abuja would ve been a complete ghetto by now. Lets also learn to use bicycles or trek atimes they are alot healthier.

people are arguing about the possible compromise of the report and GEJ is giving a lecture on how oil is important
The presidents low capacity to grab the crux of any issue shocks me. I am ashamed about his always unintelligent response to issues. Imagine someone telling the president to his face " so what if the president says we should submit the report" how bad can it get?

[quote author=greaterlove]Before we scream our brains out let's do this maths, if our population is about 150m, and let's say about 20m are in public primary and secondary schools all over naija and the government is to print an average of 5 books per student for each class at 1000naira per book that already is 100billion. As per the money spent I don't see it as a problem,( and nowhere did he the minister state it was spent in one year) but what I see as a problem is if the books do not reach the students they are meant for or if the government is not printing at all. is there anybody in the house who is a teacher in a public school that can clarify if government really distributes books in his or her school?[/sirquote] sir i no say i no go school but which kain book u wan print for 1000 naira x 20 m copies dats like 7 dollars per copie are they space science textbooks or brain surgery ones. I was suprised when a yoruba guy in my office said as far as the money was looted by a yoruba man he doesnt care and that is the mentality all of them have.
clown! who fought objs govt d most? were they not yorubas, tinubu, gani, falana, yorubas are not as bigoted as some of u guys are, i ve alot of respect for ibo people i ve many as friends and they are great people but i must say that i have noticed agreat inferiority complex from a lot of ibos on nairaland.

Nonnyz: Wonderful! When the matter on remodeling of our Airports GAT first came up, frankly, I criticised same, fuming and lambasting of the much waste thereon which will go into the pocket of a few... Now, my assertions and believe indeed have been flawed as GEJ 's government again, have wrestled me to the ground on this. A very commendable work.
Bloody illitrate sycophants commending the president of the richest black nation on earth and the7th highest exporter of crude oil in for borrowing 550m dollars from china to refurbish our airports out of which about 250m dollars would ve been divertd and genrations to come wil struggle to pay back after 2.3trillion has been looted thru subsidy

I am doing what is required of me as a citizen, i obey traffic laws and other laws, i pay my tax as a business owner and i dont go lookin for govt work where a bribe will be demanded from me. I help as many as i can but all these all what you @op claim you do plus what you want us to do wont change nothing. If the man who has the constitutional authority to provide for the security and welfare of Nigetians is busy eating cassava bread and kain kain, and has no balls to arrest all those stealing the people's commonwealth and carting them abroad to live happily ever after, then all your effort plus mine will be nothing but a drop in the atlantic ocean. So while i agree that citizens ve a part to play, alsi believe that 96% of the change we need can only come from govt.

PoliticsRe: Chief Justice Caught Driving On BRT Lane by naja2: 5:17pm On Oct 13, 2012
ndu_chucks: This post shows the inadequacy of the Lagos traffic law. An exemption should be made for the leader of our Judiciary who chose not to cause more havoc by driving around with sirens and 10 or more car convoy, as the leaders of the legislative wing and executive wings do.

Expecting the chief justice to move around Lagos like the rest of us, is foolish and equivalent to saying that GEJ and David Mark should drive around Lagos like the rest of us. You people should use your brains.

I suppose you all would have preferred her to cause more traffic havoc by driving with police convoy and sirens. SMH
There is no acceptable excuse for breaking the law not even from the highest law officer in the land .If it happened then its a big shame on her part. What kind of emergency did she have, was she going to save a life in the hospital? or she was goin to put out fire somewhere? or perhaps she was goin to arrest some criminals somewhere, what? . The major reason why many Nigerians are lawless is just because their leaders ve no regard for the law of the land and even the followers gladly make silly excuses for them.
PoliticsRe: Fatal Accident At Ijebu Ode Claims More Than 50 Lives by naja2: 7:52am On Sep 19, 2012
five reasons why it wont happen in saner climes.
1. the high way is the highway people dont trade on the high way so no traders or buyers will be killed, even if there was a brake failure.
2. Roads are properly design puttin into cognisance situations like this, so no silly bus stops at junctions, so 100 people dont ve any reason to gather at junctions/intersections are not meant for bis stops.
3.In saner clime truck/heavy duty truck under very strict yearly test, before u are allowed to drive such vehicles, you must have passed series of rigourous driving test plus years of driving experince, back in this jungle any dick just starts driving.
4 Our ambulance/rescue system is a disaster on its own, most people who die from road accident would be survived if only they were in saner clime, cant talk too much about this guess we are all too familiar with our pathetic health system.
5. Because the average Nigerain like we can see in d tread is unintelligent blaming accidents on ember months rather than reasoning with their God given brains and hold their leaders accountable for presiding over a failed state, ok are there no ember months in the uk, s a, canada etc, google the rate of fatalities from road accident this year compared to thier and check out Nigeria own.Wake up people!!!. May the soul of the departed rest in peace.

Really where are you guys paranoid, has he done anything wrong, just because he wants to contest for president in 2015, and he has decided to start his prepareration for the serious job early .Though i am not a pdp member so on that not he wont get my vote but i must say that during the last campaign he ran one of the best campaign, he spoke about his plans for the economy in very clear terms he challenged GEJ to a debate on the economy then but alas GEJ KNEW better than him he knows that sentiments, "like i didnt have shoes" and fresh air will sell better amongst the electorate than any intelligent debate on the economy or issues that will change the lives of the people. I have always maintained that a people deserve the kind of leaders they get, 2015 is around the corner , still no roads, hospitals ,schools, power etc. Atiku in my opinion is waynahead of GEJ in terms of composure, exposure, experience, intelligence, good carriage, speaks very intelligently always has a presidential carriage, commands a lot of respect, couragious as we saw during the last pdp convention, to me If Atiku was what the pdpd produced in the last convection i guess i would ve been a better Nigeria. For those who think he is the sponsor of BH pls find out very well atiku is one of the most liberal muslims in the whole world, he is just too liberal, infact so liberal some people claim he is gay.

PoliticsRe: Abuja Public Facilities That Have Gone Extinct by naja2: 12:57pm On Aug 31, 2012
I live in Abuja, call Elrufai any name you want but one thing you cant take away from him , is his performance as FCT minister there has been none before him and after him there hasnt been any like him. El rufais legacies are all over Abuja b4 he came in, Abuja was almost becoming like the then Lagos, but he changed everything, built roads , opened up new areas, built capacity for govt agencies that were hitherto channels for siphoning money into proper service rendering agancies. In saner climes someone like Elrufai , brilliant courageous, articulate and slightly honest will have a job for life, but he is the only fct minister being haunted for corruption whereas the real criminals are allowed to go and enjoy their loot in peace. the Bunus, moddibos, aleiros who did nothing for the FCT but steal and allocated lands to themselves and their cronies are living in peace. Bala in my opinion is the worst FCT minister ever , no agenda no plan just kissing the behind of the first family and looting. How i wish GEJ will make hime minister of transport or something else and give FCT a proper minister that it deserves.

Charles.nerd:
@Topic,

That a man can switch from being a christian to muslim ,then traditionalist does not portray tolerance, rather it portrays a lack of conviction to stick to a particular set of beliefs or ethos.I have seen a yoruba dude who have switched from being from being muslim to christian and has invariably attended all variants of christian churches without any real difference in religiousity or real description of what he actually wants from the churches;I rather find such confusing and I tend to call him a religiously confused man. Your point exactly nerd? wouldnt u rather the world be filled we such religiously "unstable" people than your illitrate extremist. If every one in Nigeria was moderate in thier religious pursuit perhaps the country would ve been more peaceful and more progressive.

I think its something anthropologists should dig deeper to unearth the root cause of such anomalous cultural behaviour. Even the yoruba muslims are not as hardcore as the muslims of the core north as you can find them clubbing and having multiple girlfriends even when islam strictly forbids such and the christians among them are always easily swayed to join pentecostal churches hence the rising wave of pentecostalism especially in the southwest;little wonder the major pentecostal churches are lead by Yorubas. It could have something to do with being liberals,as yorubas are naturally are, unlike in the southeast where people are highly conservative ,hence the dominance of conservative churches (catholic and anglican) and inability of pentecostalism to make inroads.

On a flip side, this could represent cultural dynamism and portray the yoruba as a group of people who are amenable to change ,but it could also portray Yorubas as a people who lack real convictions and lend credence to the belief that a yoruba man should not be trusted for his words as he/she is always ready to switch sides, depending on which position favors him most.

folahann: I've never thought of it at all. Just realised it's very true. There are uncoutable families in my hometown with Muslim father and christian mother.
I do have a huge galaxy of muslim friends too , I'm talking of very close friends here. Some of them even know the Bible more than I do.
I do like the southern muslims very much, they are violent-free and very calm.
What I observed though is that northern muslims in the south don't pray with a southern muslim leading the prayers. The northern ones gather themselves somewhere instead of going to a mosque.
i guess most northern muslims are very un educated, which makes it easy for indoctrination.
