When might Ije hit the screens? |
semid4lyfe:What do you mean? Who do you have in mind that would scream at OMO. God forbid! |
THE-AMAKA:And it is not just Genny and Ramsey. It is a strategy which kills Nollywood slowly. The assumption that specific actors can only act specific roles alongside specific actors. I guess this may be part of the reason we are not seeing Nkiru Silvanus and a good reason why Ini Edo and Mercy Johnson should slow down in the roles they are taking. After such a good show as Shakira, mercy had better take a short break before resumption, Perhaps this is why I appreciate Rita, Dakore, Bimbo, Kate and Tonto for appearing at intervals. One does tire with them oo. |
THE-AMAKA:I get you now. You know this English thing. At some point in her career, the continuous pairing of Genny with Ramsey Nouah almost stunted her flexibility and reach in acting. There is a particular movie where she acts with Desmond and Patience (I have forgotten the name) and it still strikes me as one of her good movies |
Why cant Igbo history be written to make them not just Jews but Germans as well. They could be Normands too you know. |
THE-AMAKA:What do you mean she blew up?The Genny that I know and genuinely appreciate is alive and well and is currently acting with the great OMO in LA. |
And it is possible that she will even be greater as an actor after acting alongside OMO in that Ije film. |
The MR IBU movies |
Is it true that they are relatively careless compared to Igbo ladies. That they are less organized? |
If the percentage of scholars I have interacted with here in the USA is any indicators, then Nigerians read a lot. A good percentage of African scholars from Africa here are likely Nigerian. Nigerians read a lot and are bright |
With the exception of one poster, all the others are foreigners. How else would you be influenced by books written by foreigners at the expense of our own Nigerian writers? I thought I would read names such as Fagunwa Gabriel Okara J.P Clark Oluwole Soyinka Chinua Achebe etc |
I asked a question on this thread: Waht is it about Genny that makes her tick? When Oprah included her in her recognition list, the citation was that "she has influenced many lives". there must be a reason why. What is it for you? |
!amebo no1:Sure. To appreciate one person does not mean hating the the rest. The Amaka should know that one can be passionate about an actor like Genny or OMO and still appreciate the good qualities in the others. And to appreciate someone is not to stop others from doing the same. |
Another admirable quality about Genny, is the depth of intelligence, and of insight she seems to bring to her interpretation of the characters she portrays. She just does not recite lines. On this she is comparable to To Rita who aso displays that capacity in her acting a lot. |
Okay. Genny has a well toned body to begin with. Her calves are some of the best I have seen in a long while. And I was watching this movie and if you watch at point 5.03 to 5.27, you will see Genny's dance moves that no other Nollywwod actor can ever make with the same grace. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ul5DyGsZwcg |
THE-AMAKA:Nothing about Genny can ever ever be considered Useless. Do not go there Genny is one of the best things to have ever happened in Nollywood. I dare you to say the contrary. Just tell me what it is that make her so magical. One word would do. |
semid4lyfe:I certainly did not intend it to be in the negative. And certainly not in the taste of what you've posted semid-4life.Jus a little cinility, a little courtesy is all we need. |
Although I am an OMO fan, I must declare that I have been captive to Genevieve Nnaji's contagious charm. Mention her acting, her gait her walk, her talk etc, there is always something wildly magical, attractive, bewitching, beautiful. When I say there is something about Genny, I genuinely want to find out: What is it that makes her tick? |
How is OMO doing in the shooting of Ije? |
1. OMO 2. Yvone Nelson 3. Genny The thread should close at this point. |
Omo's detractors Abi! Who sent you? This is silly. |
He is an achiever and a selfless one at that. Most Yorubas are. |
Reading that interview, it is as clear as day light that this lady has no grasp of the complexity of the Middle east and Afghanistan issues let alone the history pertinent to these. Assuming a contrarian (republican) default position in regard to Obama's choices is not substitute for a sound foreign policy understanding. |
dozai:How dare you say such things about OMO? She grows younger by the day. |
I am hoping, wishing and praying that that movie IJE does not come packaged in the traditional Nollywood three to four part package. I hope it is 1 hour 45 min at the very longest. |
THE-AMAKA:Genny is good. No doubt about that although our opinions diverge on who between her and the great one is better. Genny is cool. Give her that and those photos The Amaka are great. |
Yvone of course. Why even ask? She reminds a lot of another great Nollywood actor. |
Winnergal:It should not be so. Conversely, it is inevitable that when two of Nolllywood's greats come together, the onlookers interest sometimes takes a comparative angle. It is in that sense you should see the OMO/Genny bantering going on here and it is genuinely harmless. Seriously speaking, the two actor's abilities stand way above most in Nollywood which is why we are passionate in our convictions about both. But these convictions, even if they be critical does not take away from either what they have accomplished. I am a self declared OMO Enuguist fan and yet there are movies and flashes of excellence on screen by Genny I can never get off my mind. the two bring out the best of Nollywood and the best from each other and we should be glad that Ije accords us that opportunity again-at least for me to see the great one in action. |
I enjoy reading the late Sembene Ousmane from Senegal. I wish to know which writers from the rest of Africa seem to draw the interest of literature loving Nigerians. |
Has it ever occurred to most Nollywood lovers that the depiction of Nigerians from the North (who we sometimes erroneously consider to be Hausa/Fulani) in the Igbo dominated home video perspective is very demeaning. hardly do they speak coherently, always watchmen and gate boys, When they are depicted as rich, it is always in relation to political power and get this:- all the rich Northerners depicted in Nollywod are always susceptible to the treacherous charm of Igbo ladies. These and many more lead me to ask whether or not any actor who may be representative of the northern lifestyle would stand for such stereotypical cardboard depiction of Northerners in Nollywood. |
Genny is Okay to good here. There is something wildly attractive about her here and about this particular poise. Great Genny [img][/img] Oh. Great. Omo is simply greater than good here. She is exquisite, charming and almost bewitching. Just look at the face the hair and God!! Those eyes. Ije will draw great reviews because of this lady's presence and acting strength. Great OMO, is there anyone fit to hold a candle to you?? Not in nollywood. I am shivering that TA will read this
|
sjeezy8:In what movies has Babangida acted? Could you give a link? |
??
