To Omotola, I can only ask Genny WHO?? |
!amebo no1:Pray you are not insulting OMO. She is way better and cannot go AWOL. |
@Mwanamwiwa Ypu are doing a great job, not to mention the time and effort it takes. Hon Balala should honor you for doing a better job supplementing Kenya's tourist marketing. Now as you rendezvous around Kijabe and the RVA again, you may want to take a picture of the small chapel at the foot of the escarpment. It i small yes but resonates with lots of history since it was built by Italian prisoners of war under duress. It would continue the thread of the war monuments that peeped through the thick foliage of Nairobi photos few postings back. You may also consider (now that there seems to be a historical streak standing out with Lamu) getting picture of the Lord Delamare, Joy Adamson's and Egerton's legacies dotting Naivasha and Nakuru areas. At your convenience of course. |
I wonder what Omo thinks about the current bad light Nigeria is placed following the botched terrorist attempt to bring down North Westerner Airlines over Christmas. She should say something |
If the seven days ultimatum expires and no favorable response, Nigeria should unleash Patrick Obahiagbon for a preemptive verbal assault. That will sure demonstrate Nigeria's seriousness. And for their inability to understand real or imagined "mehu mehus' who knows, the senate may just get the deserved response from America. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9a_jdjiePqc |
Well: Safari in Kenya has its downside too. Occasionally, http://uk.news.yahoo.com/5/20100106/twl-mother-and-daughter-killed-by-elepha-3fd0ae9.html?printer=1 Mother And Daughter Killed By Elephant Wednesday, January 6 11:31 am An American tourist and her one-year-old daughter have been trampled to death by an elephant at a game reserve in Kenya. The four other people in the group including the woman's husband escaped unhurt after managing to run to safety. The incident occured on Monday near the Castle Lodge in Mount Kenya National Park, where the family had been staying. Godfrey Wakaba, a senior warden at the park said the victims' bodies had been flown to the Kenyan capital, Nairobi. The national park with its world heritage status mountains and population of elusive forest elephants have made it a popular trekking and safari destination for tourists. |
Guys: Look at the bright side of things. At least Nigeria's Super Eagles qualified for the World Cup. |

@Mwanamwiwa. A friend is nostalgic about Nairobi's Ngara Road love a shot of that street alongside these beautiful pictures-if it is within your ability to make it possible. By the way, what do warthogs and children have in common as to equally have the right of way above everybody/everything else in that Nairobi street? |
This would be a record first. A whole president of a country of 150 million people can hide/disappear in plain sight. What else is Nigeria capable of? |
~Bluetooth:And Ajebo? |
~Bluetooth:Pray, what animal is Tokunbo? |
easylogic:Best thing to do. I think one Nigerian (Anthony Chinedu) owns a modest hotel in Nairobi west although he is still disputing its ownership with his Kenyan wife. At least he is one of the many Nigerians who should now take up Kenyan citizenship. there also used to be one energetic promoter called Uche Onyebadi. Don't known if he is still doing his trade in Nairobi, but was such a likable man and public figure. With similar contacts you get to save money and to sample the host country much faster with a steady knowing hand of a Nigerian who probably understands you as a Nigerian and may anticipate your needs. Lots of Crocodile meat and other bush stuff in some fancy Nairobi joints. But most of all, you will get to see beauties you only sporadically get to see in Lagos. Calabar or Abuja. Again six days may not be sufficient to sample Kenya although it depends on your mission. If you are going for fun, it may be rained off in the next two three weeks or so going by weather projections. Mombasa and the coast has beach fronts stretching for miles and miles with classy resorts and hotels spread out. there are private villas too. Sample some of these as shown in the other thread: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-51356.1600.html |
@Poster Did you just come by an epiphanic revelation to grant this tired line some tonic: this story is almost four years old. Why are you flogging it again? |
Omo Omo Omo No one else |

@Mwanamwiwa Slight correction. That is not Koinange street six postings above. it is the extension of Muindi Bingu Street stretching right up to the university way invisible in the background. Th foreground the Sexeighty intersection of Kenyatta and Muindi Bingu streets. |
MAKOKO Full of real human beings. No pretenders |
@Poster You could be the one and only Jakumo |
THE.AMAKA:Except those acted by that great lady ooh? Those are real movies. THE AMAKA don't you agree? |
Kenyans are giving a whole new meaning to the words corruption and impunity. It is not surprising that it is considered more corrupt than Nigeria. |
LOL! This thread should be voted the best ever in Nairaland. Never seen so much informed fun anywhere else. Tells a lot about Becomerich's leadership. |
To be on the safe side. Forward your head on a separate flight as onward luggage and you can link up at the luggage conveyor belt at Murtalla. |
@Mwanamwiwa I love the Nyeri pictures. Specifically the Outspan ones. there is nothing as refreshing as having hot mid morning tea seated on the green lawns of the hotel looking yonder and savoring mt Kenya sights in the far distance. Try it, you will grow younger by a few days. |
Kaskazi:You are correct in most of your observation here. But you are a bit off the mark with regard to De Clerk. I am not sure about him attending the Prince of Wales school in Nairobi. He may have. But what I am sure of is that his family had roots in Kenya before relocating to South Africa. You will recall that as he left office, De Clerk made a trip to Kenya specifically to an Eldoret church which he claimed was either constructed with the help of/or patronized by his parents or Grandparents. Try to find out from other sources about this. So Mwanamwiwa's statement is in the vicinity of some truth. |
