BIGOB: No one is upgraded with a certificate gotten before he gets the job, no one. The best that can be done is, due to how difficult it cant be getting approval to study, some officers go ahead and obtain a BSc while in service, and when it's time to upgrade, they find a way and get approval to study which is then back dated. But as Sikpa04 has said, upgrading isnt done with a certificate gotten before you got into the service. Hello there. Please, I just want clarification on my own issue relating to what you posted. I registered with my OND cert while undergoing NYSC. Now I'm done with service, can I still upgrade with my BSc? If no, how do I upgrade to level 8 while in service? |

CharisEleos: Lol.. @" his voice betrayed him". So you took notice of his shaky voice. Yeah, I am certain everyone did. It wasn't shaky though but kinda lost its confidence. Just like Vin diesel sounding like David Beckham. Ever heard David Beckham speak before? It's like he squeaks |

CharisEleos: Hm.. that's a huge blow. Must have been devastating for him.
Everyone working with private organizations should just have a plan B as shock absorber. It was, my dear. He had to take it like a man. Acted all cool and that but his voice betrayed him while speaking to us. You are right about government jobs though. |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: What It Was Like To Tell My Kids I Lost My Job by NarnieAceTech: 1:24pm On Jun 02, 2021 |
CharisEleos: That's one thing with private organizations. No job security. Imagine after thirteen whole years of service, you were laid off over the phone just like that. Dang!
That is why govenment job is still better. Though they may not pay so hugely but at least you're sure of job security and a huge compensation ( gratuity) after your service years with a lifetime benefit ( pension). This is why it is good to have a personal establishment while working with all these private organizations just in case.
So demoralizing. A senior staff member in my department was told to leave after 22years of service for reasons best known to the company. The kind of shockwave that went through my spine eh |

BIGOB: Baba no one is passing judgement You said you'll forfeit the screening, and later said you might change your mind at the 11th hour. No one put those words in your mouth. Somethings ba, you dont need advice. You claim the process has taken too long. Why didnt you change your mind all these while? Why is it now they are about concluding everything. You have an opportunity that most people are looking for, and you want to chicken out at this stage. Like I asked earlier, what are your chances of making it this far next time? Whether you made it this far through hard work or godfatherism. If through hard work, what makes you think others wont work harder than you next time? And if through a godfather, what makes you think he/she will still be willing to help after you've decided to throw away this opportunity. Baba you're the one to advise yourself on this matter, no one else will do it for you, and most importantly pray. If you have always dreamed of wearing a uniform, then zero your mind and work towards this offer, if not, then zero your mind and grow in your current field. Like I said, zero your mind, not the one you'll now start regretting tomorrow. Kindly point out where I said I was going to forfeit the screening exercise. I only said I hadn't made up my mind yet. Since I didn't state it to you earlier, I just got this my current job less than a week before I got the invitation letter from NIS. I have been waiting on them since last year. And if I don't get it next time I apply, I'll keep on trying till I get it. Peace |

naijakrook: Brother, u understand your situation better than anyone. I advise you follow your mind. Let your instincts guide you. Good luck in your quest. Thank you. You understand situations like this. I guess they've never been in such kind of situation before, so it easier for them to pass judgement. |

BIGOB: LOL what are your chances of getting this far when you apply again? And what are the chances that you wouldnt have to wait this long again when you reapply? My candid advice, work toward the Immigration job, with time you can upgrade. But if you want to do otherwise, fine, give person slot. God sef knows how He does His things. He has brought you this far, you now decide on your own not to accept the offer, not that they didnt shortlist you o, you decided on your own. Then you now want to reapply, and you expect to get it again? Like I said, I might change my mind at the 11th hour. So why'd you think I can't make the cut next time. Not every thing has to do with connection. I worked hard, did enough studying before the exam and I got shortlisted on merit. So? |

I might just change my mind at the 11th hour though. Fingers crossed. I have always dreamt about being a uniform man, so I'll definitely apply again. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Have You Ever Been Embarrassed During A Church Service? by NarnieAceTech: 11:05am On May 30, 2021 |
Mine happened a day before church service, that's on a Saturday. The church has this rule of coming a day before the service to put down your name as a testifier against Sunday service. Unknowingly, I put the paper on the sound system equipment while trying to put down my name, and from a distance the pastor raised his voice and said "Who is that person writing on the sound system. Don't you have sense?! If you ruin it now, will you pay for it?". Gosh, I was so so embarrassed, because the choir members were having their rehearsal as well, everyone just stopped, staring at me. I just apologised. After that day, I stopped seeing that man same way I used to. |

During my service, I was posted to a printing press owned by a pastor. I was the graphic designer for flyers, book covers, handbill, you know the deal. Midway while thinking of a concept for a particular design, he'd summon us to come for mid-day prayer, which lasts for one hour. He also wanted me to become an evangelist, but na that one I no gree at all; Working there was worth it though; he's a very nice man with a beautiful family, especially his daughter I wish I could stay but the state couldn't give me what I wanted in order to advance my career. |

Simplythebest: Please take excuse and go for the federal government own. Cus u working in a bank and ur salary is 100k less that means u are a contract staff and for u to have salary increment it may take 3 years and which is extra 10k. Some people work in a bank for 8 years as a contract staff and at the end they ask them to go. Pls try the federal government own cus it will give u more time and u go do other things. Am talking from experience concerning the bank job. All the best How can I take excuse when I haven't even spent up to two weeks on the job. It will only say how unserious I am. As regards time, my department will give me enough time to run side businesses and do other things. I won't have to run the usual 9-5, monday-friday. |

Screening Exercise is not a guarantee that they will select you. The highest you can do is request for some days off from the Bank and participate in the screening exercise.
Screening Exercise is not a guarantee that you have gotten the job, Be wise or you end up loosing both. How many days will the screening last ? |

akanbiaa: Federal job last selection process is not determined by all that, hold on to your bank job and after getting APPOINTMENT letter and DEPLOYMENT LETTER you can move to the federal job if it's replacement you will get salary at the end of the month if it is fresh recruitment you might have to wait till after 6 months or a year before you start getting salary after you have done capturing and you will wait till after 2 years before you are confirmed. Are you serious?! What do you mean by 'replacement'? But by the look of things, I think I applied as a fresh recruit. |

If it were me, I will stick with the bank job, but if there is any way you can go for the training without losing out on the bank job then go for it. About converting to the B.sc level, get the Federal job first after you have been confirmed you can then pursue your conversion. I can't ask for leave. I need to know how many days the exercise will take, so I can determine my next line of action. |
