My dear.. two of my paddies got their PR this week and they started this journey since 2017, one of them wrote IELTS seven times struggling with listening at some point and writing at another. The other wrote 4 times trying to max out and finally it has all ended in Praise.

So yes LadyMarshall it will be worth it in the end.

You can easily get a new reference letter from HR that would state how long you have been an ET and an ABO .. and since salary is not included some people I know that have gotten PR submitted the new offer letter that’s shows what they earn and also printed out payslip on the letter headed paper.

Esomimi:
Good evening all,

Please I need clarification on sths.

I am Pre-ITA, currently sitting in the pool and I already got my reference letter from HR dated May 9th, 2019 (Level - ET) However, I recently got promoted and my promotion letter is dated May 10th, 2019 (New Level - ABO). The job function, Title (Relationship Officer) and working hours did not change, the initial letter also did not carry salary amount.

To my question:

1. Do I need to get a new reference letter, even though nothing is really changing apart from the level? Or can I just submit the old one without my promotion letter?
2. Since my salary wasn't stated, and our payslips do not carry official logos, can I just print my statement and highlight all salary payments?
3. The promotion came with salary increase which reflected in the last salary payment. If I do not submit a promotion letter as proof of the increase in salary amount, will it raise any queries?

Looking forward to your great opinions.

This EE process though(smh)
I can’t remember what I was dreaming about this morning but I just woke up and realised that i had spent 6months in Togo for my year abroad !!!! I need Togo’s PCC

I started to panic, I quickly logged into Canada.ac.. and the requirements for Togo’s PCC had some scoin scoin.. there was no link or anything like the directives for Uk PCC..

I was already sad because this is me that had all my documents ready since God knows when .

My brother was asking me are you sure you need it , it’s just Togo and I was like I don’t understand IRCC clearly states ( see me quoting constitution)

I was like since part 4 I don’t think have read about Togo’s PCC. I deceived I would ask later however, my mood had changed .. and just while was munching biscuit my brain clicked ..

I travelled to Togo in Jan 2011, I had come home for Easter break sometime in March or April, went back and returned in June finally .:.

If you see the way I jumped people of Naria land .. no one needs the extra stress abeg

Good morning every one ... for every one who did not make their ielts please don’t give up and congrats to others on IELTS, PPR, copr, ECA et Les autres choses ....

Bonne journée

Good day everyone .. please I received a gift deed from my dad into my first bank account and I wish to move the funds to my AXA mansard money market account at least to accumulate some interest (winks) .

Asides the deed do I need to provide a statement of account and reference letter from both first bank and AXA mansard ?.. kind of confused because the deed states money was moved to first bank and I wish to use AXA mansard’s Statement and reference...

Not necessarily .. they offer a date if you decide to do upfront and claim that you will be offered closer date of you have ITA

Kimbebe:
If it’s Q-life, they’ll ask you to send a copy of your ITA before booking the appointment for you but I believe this might be different for IOM.

If your account details are up to date you can use your statement of account as utility bill ..

WarriBrandChic:
Thanks alot for your response. This would have been perfect but I don't have utility bills. I stay in a company apartment now and all bills are handled by the company.

I'm so confused.

you are most definitely welcome .. I know how much I was encouraged by others who’s shared their story .. don’t give up .. I have a colleague that wrote 7times .. problem listening .. I told him about ieltsonlinetest, the 6th one he finally made his listening but not writing which he never had an issue with. He gave up .. we (his wife and I) encouraged that he did it one more time and he got it and has gotten ITA since December and he’s just waiting for the golden mail

What part of the test are you struggling with ?

hello everyone , I just thought to drop this here to encourage anyone going through the IELTS hurdle.
I wrote the exam for the first time in July 2018,I was really confident about it
,*after all if i had studied french ? Writing and speaking for 4years and even done my dissertation and défense en français what could be so hard about this English exam .. Plus I had written TOEFL before and aced it.. little did I know IELTS was listening to all my mind bragging..

First result LSWR. 9,8,6,7.5 I saw this result at about 12.57am and cried myself to sleep .. I requested for a remark and it was upgraded to 6.5.

I got another opportunity to write in October (because of my work schedule , it is sort of hard to get weekends off). This time I even bought ielts liz videos .. results LSWR .. 8.5,7.5,6.5,7.5

I asked for remark again but it came out negative ..

January I was ready.., this was a new year.. new grace and new everything . I decided to try a new environment . I was fasting for the new year and asking St Joseph to intercede .I decided to try something new MOD. Although the examiners are not as organised as BC i found the environment more suiting because the exam takers were fewer than what you would have in a BC venue. It was a school in lekki and it was such a peaceful environment ... Moreover I had used ielts advantage to prepare and I understood better what was expected of me .. for every essay structure I knew what every sentence should contain, however When i saw my results I was devastated ..

LSWR 8,7.5,7,6.5

I did not give up because I had my eyes on the prize and I knew the next one was definitely the last .. so I wrote again March 2nd ... ladies and gentlemen results are........

LSWR : 9,7,7.5,75

I was elated when I saw this ... my family and close friends called as if l had told them I had gotten the golden mail..

Moral of this is that we should never give up instead research and find it what works for you .. for me I used ieltsonlinetest to practice reading and listening and according to glittering star did not find the real exam so daunting .. i never practiced speaking .. In fact I was expecting less because I almost missed this last speaking (story for another day) then for writing I practiced with the real answer script so during the main exams I could tell when I had reached 150 or 250 without even counting .. Plus i focused on knowing the structures of every way type and reading different sample types .. I could say I wrote just 3 essays while practicing ..

Thank you e fam... I am a silent reader but you guys here are amazing .... May all our heart desires come through .

Goodmorning gurus in the house. I want to in all palpable sincerity apologize for being a prodigal son, I have been here before, but left to pursue study visa, because I would love to have Canadian Msc degree. It is now obvious that it is more expensive and cumbersome for me to go through that route.

Please I need to evaluate my Credentials. I graduated from University of Benin with a Doctor of Optometry degree (2014) and I want to use WES to evaluate. I currently have both my Certificate and Transcript( I got the transcript indirectly through a sch a applied for Msc).

In the WES site it is stated tht I send 4 things: WAEC, NECO, CERTIFICATE and Transcript.

Should I send only Certificate or both Certificate and Transcript and ignore WAEC and NECO?
I intend to send it myself to save cost using FAX, should I go ahead?
I hv a relative in Canada that will receive a copy of the ECA, should I use their standard mail or use a courier to deliver it to him?
hope they wont raise an eyebrow if I send my transcript to them myself since UNIBEN dont usually issue transcript directly?

THANKS FOR YOUR EVER-HELPFUL comments and suggestions.

I don’t know where you got your information about Uniben’s inability to issue transcript but it is wrong .. just go to exams and record , it would be seamless for you since you have already made a request for one.. you pay for DHL and input WES address and it would be sent..

Brother, you want to leave Access?
Wondering how I knew? E-channel.

Well, try 3 years of work experience. It should boost your score a little.
Didn't you do Nysc? It's also a work experience.
Did you do OND and HND? If yes, do ECA for both results and choose 2 or more qualifications in the CRS page. It will help.

Lol, i dont know if I am .. I grew up in a home in an inter tribal home and dad would not let mum speak her language and he did not speak his as well, as kids it was just English .. so when I was offered the course in uni (because I really wanted to study le loi) I grabbed it with all I had .. so basically I can speak just English and French and un peu de deutsche .... Guten morgan

By the way, how many languages do you speak?

Thanks, I don’t have a problem understanding or writing in French because i lové thé language. Lol I once visited Paris and I was shocked that I could still communicate effectively with the french even after leaving school and not communicating with any one for about 4years ..anyways I would do more research .. this my french I studied cannot come and go and waste in the land of opportunities ....
TheCongo2:

Yesterday soon as I responded to this message I got ban and my post was deleted.
I guess it is because I responded to you in French. So, I wont mais the mistake of writing French again on this thread.

Actually, your writing is good. I understand that you aren't confident with your ability to speak French. However, just like with everything else in life, practice makes it better.
I have met some English speaking people who had improved their French in their field of work.

What surprises me is the fact that most Nigerians I have met who speak French are very fluent when compared to American or English Canadian who speak French.

The Nigerians I have met speak a French that is very clear. You won't understand anything from people speaking French in New Brunswick.

I believe getting a bilingual job will help you ciment your confidence with the French language.
I am sure you will be fine.

I also have a friend that got his PR last year and sometimes when I see him give out advice I am happy his agent came through .. the other he was telling someone that was 24 with bsc and 1 year experience that all she needs in Ielts is band 6 across . That because she’s so young her score will be high .. my eyes popped

It's just scary how people take a life changing decision and just feel they would wobble and stumble to their goal.
I met someone today by chance who got ITA yesterday but knows little or nothing about the process.
No passport for kids yet
No POF
He ddn't know he is not suppose 2 spend from POF when he finally gathers it
Hasn't booked medical appointment yet
Wondering how he would get his ref letter from his employer (and he isn't the PA ooo)
Thought PR would come after 60days, he didn't know you start counting after AOR
I was just like waoh!!!
Then he said he was using an agent based in canada like that was an excuse for his ignorance
