El Guapo: If Ibime could spot imbalances of some sort in the team far long and his outcry is vindicted by the results we've had in the past seasons, then our seasonal flaws has got nothing to do with the gaffers hired but the spotted imbalances that havent been given attention. The point you are making is moot. There is no such thing as a balanced squad. It is a moving target. And an excuse made up by people who hide away from their responsibilities. I challenge you to find me one balanced squad on earth. Ibime is attributing a handful of loses to imbalances and you believe without verifying by yourself and you are saying he spotted it years ago. You are glorifying garbage. Bayern Munich before Martinez conceded 22 goals in the league. After they signed Martinez, 18 goals in the league. Is this your definition of shipping goals and subsequently not shipping goals? A difference of 4 is the justification for Martinez. You my friend, like Ibime, are talking garbage. Verify your facts and stop edifying garbage. |
Mate, I cannot give a flying phuck that you disagree with me. Hell you even disagree with yourself. Ibime: Whether Basle or Everton (Jose), West Ham, Southampton, Newcastle or Corinthians (Benitez) or Shakhtar or Juventus (RDM), the same reasons persist. Not enough steel, ball winners and midfield controllers. Ibime: Who said you need steel to beat Basle? FBS has already said it yet this fool and his eediot sidekick keep ranting the same thing: |
There you have it. You are talking out of all sides of your mouth. Gyration that makes a space station look dated. What are you going to say now? Oh I didn't really mean we needed steel, I meant imbalance. You are a phocking phool. You can't even seem to get your own arguments right. And you have the audacity to quote my own posts trying to conjure up some sort of contradiction when you are contradicting your own obese brain in a matter of hours. Ibime: Fernandinho and Yaya Toure will beast every midfield this season. Clubs better wise up and stop playing sloths and poossies. It has not happened. Infact they lost to Cardiff. . . Perhaps they need more steeel. Ibime:Now you are saying his hands are tied. Ibime: The reason jose is keeping 6 AMs is "he wants them to play high intensity every match cos that's central to his gameplan". That should worry luxury players like Mata who either have to work hard or ship out. Ibime:As always, not understanding his own argument. Blinded by extreme hate for Emenalo and insane love for physical footballers he spins all over the place trying to convince anyone who gives him any attention that his opinions are divine. In one argument, Jose is happily keeping 6AMs, in another Emenalo the Emperor put a gun to his head. ------------------------------ He is still avoiding the crucial question, this intellectually dishonest obese waste pipe. TELL US WHAT STEEL UNITED NEEDED TO WIN THE LEAGUE LAST SEASON. TELL US WHAT STEEL BARCA NEEDS TO BLOW TEAMS AWAY LIKE THEY DIDN'T SHOW UP Ooops! Oh sorry, he didn't mean steel, he meant imbalance. |
Ibime: Who said you need steel to beat Basle? FBS has already said it yet this fool and his eediot sidekick keep ranting the same thing: Ibime: Whether Basle or Everton (Jose), West Ham, Southampton, Newcastle or Corinthians (Benitez) or Shakhtar or Juventus (RDM), the same reasons persist. Not enough steel, ball winners and midfield controllers. |
@Nitlad God butter your bread more than you asked. Edumare shower you with blessings. You nailed it on kampe. ------------------------------------------- Meanwhile Lt. Col na me sabi pass is still arguing. Only a few weeks ago he was saying with emphasis that Jose will come in and teach Emenalo what it means to build a midfield. Jose came in and has left the midfield the same way. Now he saying Jose's hands are tied. Rumour has it that Jose accepted the Chelsea job as far back as January and that was why Benitez was hired as a temp. This means that Jose had over 6 months to at least get accustomed to Chelsea players. He did and certified the team ok. Jose is not a yes man. This is a well known fact. Even if youweren't at the table of negotiation, you can almost say Jose will never put pen to paper if on't be allowed to choose his own players. Jose accepted the team and sees nothing wrong with it. End of. But someone has to take blame for losing to Basel. Who else than the almighty, immovable Lord Emenalo - the great one who gets everyone, including Roman and Jose to do as he pleases. Such wonderful powers. On the topic of steel, simple question, can you show me the steel that United needed to win the league last year? can you kindly show us the steel Barca needs to blow teams away like they didn't show up? If we lose to Ajax, they will come back and tell us we need steel. Ninjahs even try to convince those who have no minds of their own that we needed steel against Swansea in the Carling Cup. Hell they said we need steel against Corinthians - a bunch of Brazilians with bones made of plastic. Oya let's oblige them. West Ham, Juventus, City, who else? Max 5 games. We should go and buy players for only 5 games. Eediot. Ode iranu. We need steel to beat Basel, I never hear am before. Ninjahs should cover their face in shame talking. The same Basel we beat last year home and away, suddenly we are weaker. We need more players. Spurs have Capoue, Paulinho and Dembele in midfield yet could not beat Arsenal with Ramsey, Rosicky and Carzola in midfield. If we lose to Spurs, watch the phuckers come back to tell us we should have bought Capoue and Paulinho, we need steel. Arsenal didn't need steel. This same Spurs with Capoue and Paulinho needed a controversial penalty for a narrow 1-0 win over Swansea who have absolutely no steel. City have Fernandiho and Toure in midfield yet they lost 2-3 to newly promoted Cardiff. If we lose to Cardiff, it's because we don't have steel. Stooopid gist! -------------------------------------- Are you not the same bloke who told us JM would make RDM look like a rookie with the same team? You showed us how JM would organise the team, now you are talking nonsense. Just last week, he was praising JM's organisation to high heavens.Default strategy. My point seems not to be heard by many, so let's conjure up some lies and post. It will make my "Chelsea needs steel against Basel" argument a little more credible. Oya go find post bring come here. Phucking phat liar. May you trip and fall in a lion's den. |
Most people on the web are giving views from a tactical approach. Analysing what went wrong from playing point of view. Some are busy talking about steel. As someone mentioned earlier, is Essien not steel enough. Abi na Emenalo drop am for CL? Most of those views mirror my point - a point I have never stopped talking about. A team must have an identity. A method of attack. There must be relationship and understanding in transition from defence to attack. It must be engineered, it must be coached and most importantly, it has to be built around your best players. Carry Gustavo and Paulinho put inside, if you cannot move the ball into attack with a clear plan, what would be left to balance? |
"I can understand not spending and working with what you've got, but if you're going to spend, spend on the right areas where you need strengthening. Why on earth are we spending millions and still 'making do'? I really don't understand this. As for Mourinho, I've already said it before. There were some major alarm bells ringing during his last season at Real Madrid, and they shouldn't have been ignored so readily. They looked ineffective too many times last season under him and now we look exactly the same. Good first half hour against Hull but you can't maintain that level of intensity and there has to be something else behind it. All I've seen are strange decisions and the overuse of certain players. And if he's trying to make a point with his use of Mata, then he's chosen the wrong part of the season to f**k around with". "Too many players who aren't - and in my opinion never will be - on the same wavelength. That's why we play such disjointed, unimaginative, turgid football most of the time. There is very little understanding between players all over the park and they just get by on instinct and individual brilliance. Also another game where the oppo fullbacks are 10x better going forward than ours". |
A VIEW FROM THE WEB OF WHAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY. "To be fair, even those that did work back did so very ineffectively. Closing down was restricted to running up to the opposition and hanging off them by about 6 feet. MvG was the only one that tried to be bit more physical and got booked for his trouble. He needs a lot more experience in the role. I would think that Oscar and Ivanovich will be staring meaningfully at their team mates after that game. No movement and no thrust to slide the final ball home. Willian was a headless chicken at times and Hazard has taken to trying to beat the entire opposition from the half way line. Our "creative" midfield need to take a serious look at themselves and realise that being creative requires off the ball runs from the others in the team. At the moment it's all too wasy to dispossess us and counterattack our defense. Not sure what Eto''o sees as his role, apart from telling others what they should be doing. . "Mourinho is going to have to earn his crust the hard way with this lot, for what seems like the umpteenth season in a row there's a yawning chasm between defence and midfield and midfield and attack, we now have seemingly half a dozen players who want to play behind the striker , including the effing striker. God, that was utterly utterly soul destroying , it was like watching a car crash in slow motion. Civilisations have risen , flourished and fallen in the length of time it takes for us to take a throw on, it's awful. Nobody out on that pitch last night had any idea whatsoever of what their role in that team was or what the game plan was , and I'm sorry that is down to Mourinho. Any well drilled organised team we face is going to have a field day with that rabble." "Maybe you saw something in that time that proved your point, but that would be about it. I saw things very differently and I'm aching for Mata to start games. The long and the short of it is that we were crap. Really crap. I won't knock the lad too much because he's clearly a very special player, but Hazard was an absolute disaster, the worst I've ever seen him play. Couldn't do a thing right. Flinging himself on the floor towards the end wasn't particularly helpful. I was disappointed that Mourinho didn't haul him off ASAP, he was so painfully obviously having a bad day at the office. Very disappointing to be undone by a merely competent team executing a very basic strategy. Little triangles are not difficult to defend against and yet we fell prey to them time and time again. Mourinho will, I'm sure, be far more annoyed at himself than he is at any of the players. 12 points is usually enough to top a group, and the top seed can usually afford to lose one or even two of their away games and be comfortable. We've blown that margin for error within the first 90 minutes of the campaign. Plenty of time to recover but no two ways about it- it's a very poor result. I could do with watching us tear Fulham apart on Saturday. They're one of the slowest, oldest teams in the league. Drop the counter-attacking and run at them from the go, please". "Poor collectively and individually. A problem we've had for a good few seasons with teams who sit deep against us is we play too narrow, making it easier for teams to defend against us. We've players who have the ability to play wide but insist on coming inside or start from inside and go out. The only player giving width to the attack on a consistent basis last night was Ivanovic who isn't a great crosser or has a trick that will beat his man. Eto'o started OK but drifted wider and wider as the game went on. Jose singled out Ba for the second goal, in as much as he'd detailed Ba to sit in front of the fella who scored. A position you see Lampard performing normally. If people won't do as he details they'll be out and it'll be no bad thing. Very poor performances from Hazard, Van Ginkel, Lampard. Mata didn't/couldn't get into the game, time to let him start methinks." "Another thing, I can't remember us having such sterile possession in quite some time. I reckon the CB's and FB's had more touches between them than our CM's did. Once again, a disconnect between midfield and attack was the reason. The first time we managed to get behind them was when Luiz bypassed midfield, and fed Lamps who was in a No 10 position to roll the ball to Oscar who was where a number 9 should be. The lack of width was worrying as well. I forget the number of times the ball went wide to Ivanovic and Cole who had to then pass it back because there was no one providing support out wide. With the amount of space afforded to Ivanovic on the right (in every game really) it's a wonder that Azpilicueta can't get a game. The odd occasion that Willian stayed out wide to the right, we actually looked somewhat dangerous. Which allows me to actually focus on a positive; I thought Willian had a decent debut. Looked really quick and strong on the ball, wasn't afraid to take defenders on and looks like he can whip a mean ball in. Liked what I saw of him". "433 with De Bruyne Mikel and Ramires, Hazard and Willian on the wings. Oscar finds it hard to drop into those pockets of space to be able to play a killer pass, which only Mata is capable of doing. In the final third he just is not as good as Mata and Jose needs to accept that. Unless Jose is willing to give Mata freedom in the no.10 role and not giving him too much defensive duties there is no point in playing a no.10. Either give freedom the our best number 10 or switch to 433 and give freedom to the wide men". |
FBS: @nateevs, we were the ones complaining last season that the only thing missing from Eden's game was his close to non-existent defensive abilities and we were happy to see now that he tracks back. So no need changing statement now. JM has always played this way. He expects them to track back. I remember Robben complaining about this.Mate different talk for different day. I was here hailing Hazard for tracking back to help Ashley against Robben because it is well. . . Robben. Who in his right mind will argue against that. When you have an opposition you view as superior, you arrange yourself accordingly. All wingers need a balance to their game by having defensive responsibilities. What I will not accept though is the same tactic being applied against Basel. It's absolute nonsense. Tell the stoopid fat bloke to carry his Emenalo gist to the front. His argument became useless the moment I tell you we beat this same team home and away last season with the exact same players. FBS, you nailed it on the head, we are supposed to beat Basel with U21 boys and it's got phuck-all to do with unbalance diet, Emenalo The Great, or whatever shitzo that obese loose cannon wants to conjure up. Spamming the thread talking about Steel. Pasting opinions of wannabes who only talk out if their backside. I have asked for answers to why United can beat the likes of Basel with Carrick and Kagawa in midfield. No answer. The Everton we could not beat had in midfield, Barry who has a turn on the ball wider than that of a truck, Ross Barkley who just lost his virginity and Mirallas who makes Hazard look like Iron Man yet they passed us off the park. How come they beat us without steel? Steel ko Carbonite ni. |
You know ninjahs are on mission when they leave the crux of the argument to focus on isolated events. Intellectually dishonest niggahs intentionally omit the inclusion of ManU with Kagawa and Carrick, the earlier discussion of Barcelona and focus on what they think lends their argument more credence - Arsenal. What they don't know is that this just emphasises my point - you don't need Gustavo to beat Basel. Eediots must have been in space last season when we beat this same Basel home and away with literally the same team. Suddenly we are too weak to beat them? We need extra players. Let's keep peddling false info. |
Let Arsenal fans come here and tell me that I lie when I say Arsenal will put 4 goals easily past Basel with Ramsey, Carzola and Arteta in midfield. Ninjahs talking rubbish. United will walk over these lot with Carrick and Kagawa in midfield. How many clear cut chances did we create? Oh you need ball winners for that don't you? Especially against mighty Basel - conquerors of Europe. |
Let's keep peddling false info. Ninjah's will say anything to continue to support their pathetic point of view. Anybody who thinks you need a ball winner against the likes of Basel to win is delivering the most insane football analysis ever made. What kind of rubbish talk is this? Barcelona without Messi will walk over these lot like they didn't even show up. Where their ball winner? Arsenal will pass these guys to death and put at least 4 past them with Ramsey in midfield. Even Swansea will destroy these guys without effort and with Leon Britton in midfield. Let Coogar come and tell me that I lie when I say ManU will decimate these guys with Carrick in midfield. What are their ball winners? Ninjah's appreciation for football is very lopsided. As if every team in the world has De Jong in midfield. Mata and Azpilicueta are the only two players who have not played 90 mins at a stretch this season. Yet when we needed a goal, Jose jumps up expecting a "match fit Mata" to go in there and produce magic. Tell me how that happens. In terms of fitness Mata is still ahead of Willian yet Mata will not start. The only reason Jose did not play Mata yesterday is the same reason he has not been played. He needs to chase Basel players to the defensive byline. This is Basel for crying out loud. Discuss the tactics used. I don't subscribe to "don't lose" mentality especially when we have the players to go out there and play some fantastic football. Why do we have to play 2 DMs at home against Basel? Why is Hazard almost at his 18 yard box defending against toothless Basel wingers when he should be standing on the half way line creating fear in the Basel ranks of a dangerous counter attack? Ninjahs be talking garbage. Basel should be looking at our line up wondering how they get the ball off us. They should be strapping up all their own "ball winners" and mandating them to play with injury. Not us thinking about ball winners against them. When we start to think like this, we have lost all essence of being a top team. If we lose to Fulham on the weekend, they be saying we need ball winners against Fulham. What would we need against Barcelona? |
El Guapo: Inasmuch as Jose is the culprit in tonite's sham defeat, i tend to agree with Ibime that we lack that defensive aegis in the middle of the park - though i wouldnt know for sure if Emenalo has had the idea of a DM acquisition fed to swines. You are on a very long thing if you think that a Gustavo or two of them would have made us win. You guys are ignoring the obvious and latching unto the in-vogue. Criticise the individual loses and forget about the DM garbage. I have mentioned my displeasure with Jose's obsession with power play - highlighted by the side-lining of Juan Mata. Chelsea's back to back player of the year for two seasons running. A player who copped 37 goals and 51 assists within the same period. You will have to be insane to not find use for such a player. The truth is Jose is not flexible enough to accommodate different styles of playing, coaching/philosophy of football. I already mentioned a decline in the productivity of Hazard. To put things in perspective, last season, Hazard and Mata had a combined output of 34 goals 49 assists. 6 games into the season and neither of them has a single goal nor assist to their name. They are busy covering full backs or in the case of Mata, not playing at all. You cannot tell me that Mata, Oscar, Hazard and Eto'o cannot pass Basel to death. The key is in the philosophy of football. Why do we need 2 DMs against Basel and Everton? For those who still believe the Emenalo gist, here is Willian sharing how Jose convinced him to join Chelsea. http://espnfc.com/video/espnfc/video/_/id/1544615/league/eng.1?cc=5739 |
mithel: Oga we have been nimble siince, we see anytime we face a physical side, and its just getting worse now , if you want an example, check out our games against swansea, man utd and man city last seasonAbeg go siddon jor!. Keep peddling false info. Is Basel physical? United and Swansea too are physical? Can you imagine? This gist is flying so fast, dudes are just repeating without verifying their own info. |
CFCfan: Lesson learned- Except you are Barca do NOT overload your squad with nimble players. There should be a balance between sleek and brawn. So we lost to Basel because we are nimble right? |
Abegi. What's the method of attack?. No composusre, no relationship, no movement, no passing, no structure, no Mata, just stick skillful men wide who run all day covering full backs and then attempt to counter. . . against every single team including Basel. Slow the sh!te down a little bit, pass it, move it. Don't tell me you need an extra player to put 6 past Basel. It's garbage talk. |
Excuses excuses. Are these Basel guys Maloudas and Ballacks themselves? This Emenalo must be a correct juju man. Mandating everyone to do as he pleases. So Jose is now a yes man. I laugh in Basel. |
Where is that @nitlad arguing with me the other day. Our revenue is looking really great. By next year we will match or even surpass Madrid's revenue of this year. It's only a matter of time before we catch up to them.
That's optimism without any concrete basis. A close look at the figures show that there was a considerable increase in commercial revenue propped up notably by an increase in gate revenue. This increase, according to a BBC financial review, is as a result of Old Trafford being used as an Olympic venue - a one time event unlikely to be repeated. |
Since when did the offensive side of a No 3's ability become the yardstick for judging who is better? I can understand people's preference for attacking full-backs (I have a preference myself) but isn't that a separate issue altogether? |
Damn I took Alaba out at the last minute. I knew I should have had him in there. I was celebrating when he scored thinking I left him there. |
dare2think: What's the name of your team?Damn! Just realised I made an error with my name. I wanted to go for something simple "European Champions" and then I thought I will change it to "Spartans" . . . Right now I am seeing European Spartans. . Like Spartans are/were not Europeans? Can I even edit that? |
Damn that was gruesome but got there in the end. |
We are talking of improved movement, decision making etc! I was being sarcastic about Moses anyway but with Sturridge even a bat can see that the kid was mismanaged
Which just reiterates my point. Space can disguise movement and decision-making as "improved". Then they move back to a big team with all the space evaporated and we know exactly how much "improvement" there actually has been. But I take your sacarsm. |
You just knew it's only a matter of time before the "why did we let them go" posts start showing up. Don't not be fooled that Swansea will set up like this against Chelsea. This is where these boys are usually found out. 80% of the PL will park the bus against Chelsea and it then requires high-level technical ability and good decision making to work the opposition and produce results consistently. Playing in a Chelsea shirt, it is unlikely you will find all that space. Food for thought. |
StarBoard: Your cognitive reasoning skills need to be worked on.Hehehehe. Starboard having a shocker. Invaluable "cognitive reasoning skills" on display. ![]() |
Havilah93: And Mata should step up his game BIg TIME, if he really wants to be a starter in Jose's team. He was nearly non-existent in that game.Mata does not need to step up anything. The stats are there for you to see. You either want Mata or you don't. Jose needs to learn (as awkward as that may seem) that there are other ways to playing football. If you want to use Mata, you aim to keep the ball and not resort to counter attack with every single team. This is why you don't see Mata. If you notice, even the likes of Hazard has become less effective because he is doing too much running. Slow it down a little and move the ball around. Use space and movement to wear the opposition down. The combined value of Chelsea's midfield players is £150m and this does not include the value of Lampard and Mikel. This has to count for something. You would expect that we could play possession based football against Everton. Jose concentrates too much on hard work so much that the likes of Azpilicueta and Mata will not be favoured while ninjahs like Ramires who constantly concede possession and put the team under pressure are playing every minute. All because they have an engine. Basic rule in football, you need runners in your team to win the ball because you cannot keep it. -------------------------------------------------------------- Rant over. Still early days. Just pointing out the negative sides of Jose's tactics. There's massive potential in the team and I hope it lives up to expectation. |
dayokanu: Where is Lateef? make he come danceYou don mara finally. ![]() |
Havilah93: I wonder what Mou's gonna say this time.I just hope he doesn't say anything horrible. |
Extreme profligacy in the first half. We could easily have been 3 goals up before they had a chance to score. 6th on the table after 4 games. |
That's 5 clear chances we've wasted. |
Jamie Redknapp is talking garbage. Ramires' mistake put the whole team in jeopardy. Mikel was on the left and Ramires was recovering. The two DMs who should have been close on 3 Everton players in front of the box. Luiz senses the danger and does the right thing by running out, closing down the space. If he stayed on his man, Ross Barkley would have had 5 yards of space to shoot. Ramires caused it all. |
What the hell was Ramires thinking? We had no business conceding that goal. |
