Ibime: We are talking of defensive midfield this one is talking of Hazard and Mata.So what is your decent base in midfield you who doesn't talk nonsense? Talking out of all sides of your mouth and trying to sound intelligent. This is Chelsea's current squad. Foreign Players. 1. Cech 2. Ivanovic 3. Luiz 4. Ramires 5. Torres 6. Mata 7. Mikel 8. Ferreira 9. Marin 10. Malouda 11. Hilario 12. Azpilicueta 13. Oscar 14. Romeu 15. Hazard Association-trained 1. Cole 2. Lampard 3. Turnbull 4. Cahill 5. Bertrand 6. Sturridge 7. Moses Club Trained 1. John Terry. We have 15 foreign players. In order to meet UEFA's squad rules, we cannot have more than 17 foreign players. At the same time, we cannot have more than 4 association trained players. This means that the rest 4 AT players we have will be classed as foreign trained. Therefore we have registered the allotted 17 spots + 2 extra. To make up for this, we've had to not register Malouda and Hilario So out of the eligible, who did we sign that shouldn't have been signed that makes it Emenalo's fault? If we sign a new midfielder now, someone already registered will have to be de-registered in February should we make it to the next round. Looking at the squad, who will you de-register to make room for this base in midfield that you refer to? Oya analyse. UEFA allows us 4 club trained players. We only have one - JT. Is it Emenalo's fault that we have not raised 3 extra players who could have been eligible but the club did not bother about raising players from the academy? --------------------------------------------- Same with FA rules. We have a 25 man squad to adhere to. We have 16 foreign (Hilario included this time) + 8 AT players + 1 club trained (JT) 25 Man squad complete. However, we can have unlimited number of academy players. Something other clubs use very well to their advantage. Oya Mr Emenalo is shyte. . Analyse how you would have worked out this "base" you refer to? |
Ibime: Emenalo's hands are tied? The first choice midfield is not shyte. I posted a fact here only a few hours ago. Playing stats for our current midfield for club and country since August. Hazard: 29 starts, 6 sub appearances Mata: 23 starts, 6 sub appearances Oscar: 29 starts, 6 sub appearances In fact, Chelsea's midfielders have played more minutes of football than any other midfield in the whole PL this season. Do you know what too many starts can do to Oscar and Hazard who are only 21? What we need is someone to come in and deputise for Mata and he is not far away from the quality that Mata offers. Hazard and Oscar likewise. The truth is we don't have anyone. The same goes for Torres. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- |
Ibime: You want to open up disingenuous new debate on who Emenalo should have signed whilst only partially admitting the central midfield is easily overrun and the striker position is weak. I can't be bothered with such disingenuous discussion as previous discussions have already answered your question. Emenalos team has been found wanting and even Benitez has made request to strengthen those same two areas in board meeting on Thursday. First admit you were wrong with INTELLECTUAL HONESTY before opening new debate.Aha! I see what you did. Drop a caveat so that we don't think you are fair weather. Well done. This intellectual dishonesty you refer to is a hoax. WE had this debate a few times. I have never accepted that we are not weak midfield and attack. The technicality of weakness is what we differ on. I do not believe we are weak in ability but only in numbers. We have only 20 use-able players. I disclosed that extensively in my last long post. City have 4 strikers, we have just one pure striker. Do I wish we substitute an RVP for a Rooney or Hernandez and they are just as good or even better? Absolutely. Do I wish for a first team player to be taken off and there is no disparate quality in the team with the substitute? Absolutely. We have only 5 midfielders all of who play at the same time. Do I want more midfielders? You bet I do. This is a discussion of numbers and quality in depth not a discussion of quality of the first team which is exactly what you only want to talk about always. This is what Rafa referred to. You want to wittingly convert your argument to one that aligns with Rafa's. It's very wrong. This has nothing to do with balance. Absolutely not. Rafa like me is not talking about quality of first team, only quality in depth. . So how can this be an Emenalo thing? Have you seen the composition of the squad and how Emenalo's hands are tied? I posted a fact here only a few hours ago. Chelsea than any other team this season in the PL have played with the least number of players. |
Ibime: Story story story. You think my request for sane discussion of Chelsea's woes is an acceptance of being wrong? You have it spectacularly wrong dude. I cannot stand how you rant on about Emenalo without providing insight into what you think he has done wrong and what you think should have been done instead. Who cares if you don't want to discuss Chelsea? You think I give a phuck? In-fact, Chelsea has enough of fair-weather fans. The earlier we lost a few, the better. |
Ibime: Chelsea midfield overrun again? Where are the intellectually dishonest chaps?I don't believe in my c0ck is bigger than yours argument. Tell me what you think in terms of player purchases Emenalo should have done and didn't do. Also who have we bought that we should not have bought. |
StarBoard: You're not even as smart as I give you credit for.Maybe it's your failure to read and understand like always. Don't ask me silly questions. Chelsea is a club that is heavily reliant on income from the CL and any manager who compromises the club's participation in the competition will get the sack. FACT. We started the CL campaign and we are now on the last game. First we lost 0-3 to Juventus and now whatever we do, if Juve win, that's it. That's why RDM was fired. Do I need to explain this to anyone? Rafa's employment was solely by Roman. The fact that he isn't getting anything right from it has nothing to do with me. What the phuck are you asking me the question for? Have you seen me say anywhere that the RB appointment is better than the RDM one? |
dayokanu: Everyone who watches football knows when you put your opponent away early they lose the drive to fight. Keeping it 1-0 for longer spells gives WestHam the confidenceThis is why it is impossible to have a logical conversation with you. At the moment I saw Cahill dive into a swung leg, I made that statement. I statement I made in the course of the game. Funny enough, you agreed with me by reminding me of the UCL final. Now you are trying to disagree with me in the space of 40 mins. However, what has that got to do with the issue we are discussing? --------------------------------------- Did we concede 3 goals because Torres failed to convert that chance? |
StarBoard: And it is you who should be a sky pundit. You are trying to be a smart ass by arguing on 2 sides. Are you saying that Benitez may be a failure is vindication for the fact that RDM did nothing wrong? Or are you arguing that "my cohorts and I" hired Benitez? Define your argument. |
dayokanu: What was Torres contribution to the game today., last week even from August? If Torres had buried his chances the wind would have been out of WestHam and could have been a routine win.So in essence, you are saying we conceded 3 goals because Torres did not score a chance. |
StarBoard: Keep chatting shyte. How did Carlton make himself a nuisance? By playing tippy tappy? Will you get anything from Carlton Cole by trying to pass the ball around on the ground? No! By the way, how come Carlton was absent in the first half? No answer. . You pump the ball in the air and Cole will come alive. That's how Cole made a nuisance of Chelsea not ignoring the obvious and talking about silly things. |
Torres is to blame for everything. We conceded 3 goals. Is Torres to blame for that? The introduction of Diame totally swung things West Ham's way because they completely dominated the midfield. Is Torres to blame for that? Infact, Sky have named Diame the MOTM. Oh Torres should have marked him and curbed his influence and as such he is to blame. I tire for beer parlour analysis. |
StarBoard: You only need to look at Carlton Cole to see how useless Fernando Torres has become. So what Carlton Cole plucked chances out of thin hair? How difficult is it to see that Carlton, Nolan et al are player bought and playing to the Alardyce style? |
Ibime: At one-nil, Torres had great chance to kill the game. That's the cancer within Chelsea that shekpe fans won't admit to. The difference between Champions and crisis-teamWhich in part proves our point. Torres had "one" great chance. If you want your strikers to score, you have to create more than "one" chance for them. Unless you want to point me a striker who has 100% goal conversion rate. |
Welcome to Rafa time. . . Why Hazard off Rafa? |
dayokanu: Long time? You mean you didnt see how they did in Munich and in the CL last seasonIs that not long enough? |
It's been a long long time I saw Chelsea defend like we are doing now. Players willing to dive into danger if it has to be done. |
dayokanu: The same Mata you told us is the problem is now the difference? Can you tell us where he said that? This is the not so pleasant part of Dayo. |
Good half. Solid and the back at the back and we've been very inventive going forward. I hope we get more goals. We need to build our confidence. Azpilicueta. . . I'm impressed. |
Ibime: Mata being brought back to the centre improves our game dramatically whilst solidifying one of the wings.Totally agree. |
This Moses guy still leaves a lot to be desired. I don't see how he is an upgrade over Kalou. . YET. On the contrary, I have been really impressed with Azpilicueta. Based on his performance in the last 3 games, I think we have a good RB. |
dayokanu: If you were Sterlings adviser would you advise him to go to Chelsea?I understand your concern and nothing you have said is totally out of place but here is where you are wrong. Chelsea 03-09 is not anything comparable to what we have now and talks about him getting benched is only sceptical. Those who support this view either don't know the true picture of things or never bothered to analyse. These are the facts:- Ever since squad rules/quota was introduced, we have struggled. This season has been our worst yet and as opposed to the Mourinho Chelsea you refer to, we have only 20 use-able players in the squad. For the most part of this season, we've played with only 16 players. In-fact, we've started 85% of all games this season with 13 players. And we have measly 16 reliable players. In fact, Chelsea have used far fewer players than any other team in the League this season. Playing stats for our current midfield for club and country since August. Hazard: 29 starts, 6 sub appearances Mata: 23 starts, 6 sub appearances Oscar: 29 starts, 6 sub appearances Contrast that with someone like RVP who's had only 18 starts and 2 subs for club and country in the same period. Torres has had 24 starts and 3 sub appearances. In fact, all United strikers and mid-fielders have played far less minutes of football this season than our first 11. Considering that our midfield core are at an average age of 22 and technically in their 1st/2nd season, it's a very unhealthy situation and we are going to suffer from burn out in the tail end of the season and drop down the league table and Rafa has already seen that. LINK This is why your assumption that Sterling will not play is wrong. I cannot even believe someone will say "abi o" without studying the facts. In years gone, there were no restrictions and squad rules so we flooded the place with players and many youngsters could not get a game. In 2006/07 UEFA's restriction on homegrown players was minimum of 4 In 2007/08 - minimum of 6. From 08/09 - minimum of 8 and it's been so ever since. Now we have a depletion of homegrown/club trained players in the squad and requirements are strict. In-fact of the 8 homegrown players requirements, you cannot have more than 4 association trained players in the squad at any one time. We have 7 now but only 4 count. There rest are classed as foreign players. THis is a massive problem. Sturridge to UEFA, under the current system, is a foreign player. These are the reasons why we must at this time endeavour to sign the likes of Sterling and more importantly why he will play. Also, as I pointed out earlier, Sterling is 17. By his 21st birthday, he will be considered club-trained and have an advantage when it comes to squad registration. This secures the future unless the likes McEachran, Feruz and Chalobah make it to pro level. Plus Sterling in my opinion is that good. In-fact, Moses, Hazard, Marin, Moses, Sturridge and Oscar at this moment can only be considered marginally better. |
Will anyone say no to Raheem Sterling? Talks over contracts are stalling. Young, very talented, can stretch play, presses well, gets stuck in and most importantly, he is association trained. If we are truly interested and can sign him, he will be here 3 years before his 21st birthday and will become club trained -something currently hurting us now as we have a small squad. So will anyone say no to Sterling and why? |
I am going to hope that Rafa believes that in going forward from where we are, we have to solve our defensive frailties. Hopefully it turns out good. |
Ibime: Ask Emenalo.I agree with this. The further we are away from goal, the less chances we create. We create far few chances ordinarily than to sit to deep. Although we had a good start to the season, I never thought we were in the race. It's a season to rebuild. What scares me now is the possibility of 10 drawss. We can drop 20 points easily. |
Brace up guys. It might be a very looonggg season. Starting Bertrand on the left against Fulham. I have never and cannot ever understand the tactic against a weak side. RDM did the same thing against QPR. |
Chei! See explanation. I thought I expressed that I didn't do that intenionally. |
Ibime: Last week "only Torres can solve Torres problem ". This week "MaZacar ain't producing enough quantity of passes "I feel you bros. Don't mind them. Emotional ninjahs talking rubbish all the time and changing their minds every nano-second. A bit similar to these. Ibime: What rubbish! So Drogba is better than Torres? Lemme spell it out: Drogba's touch is not up to league 2 level! I have said it before and Ill say it again, Drogba without stamina is as useless as John Carew.Ooops! My bad. |
coogar: nothing prevented sturridge from making that pass.Apparently, he was standing on the foot he needed to make the pass. ![]() |
Great. Since you have descended to the level of beer-parlour analysis, let's watch the video in real time. Hold on, I will create a gif out of the video and post in a moment. |

dayokanu: Notice his left leg was raised to make the pass but where was torres? Hiding like Adam hidYou are a disgrace. Sturiddge runs about 60 yards towards goal. He has all the time in the world to make that pass, he doesn't. You stop on this and you say "look at his foot he wanted to make the pass". This is the frame right after your Danny's "foot analysis" . . Look at the shape of his body and tell me he ever intended to make that pass. What's even more compelling is that Torres continues on his forward run in case Sturridge still finds a way somehow of getting that pass through. So much for your claim of Torres hiding.
