Sorry I am just seeing this now.

Very good analysis from you.
Thanks. He played Ayobami on the flanks again and when he could not out- muscle the older and bigger Guineans from that side, he was substituted and replaced with Olusegun. What has shocked me most is that we have been playing without an 8 in our last 3 matches. No direct person at the centre to feed strikers or wingers.

Thanks bro.

I see why Manu Garba dropped him for the game against Uganda.

He has been wasteful from the start of the competition.
Although he has been wasteful in front of goal as he usually lack self awareness when around te goal area and does not think fast but he is one of our best and moves the ball well. I think he was the one that sent that long pass to Jabaar to convert the last time. The coach did not play him in our last match to accomodate Tomi. However, Tomi was more than woeful in the last game. Almoat all his touches were terrible. Up till now, Manu Garba is yet to get a suitable formation......the moment he saw that AYobami was doing well, he dragged the poor guy to the rigt wing position were he has been ineffective compared to his regular 8 position where he will have the chance to show that talent of his by throwing killer passes to the forwards and having the chance to convert some too. I just hope he will not play on the flanks today
BusinessRe: Don't Trust Your Money With Anyone Who Can't Keep To Time by naturalwaves: 1:52pm On Apr 24, 2019
yinkuscious:
Don’t trust your money with anyone who can’t keep to time. He will not manage it well because he is already mismanaging his life.
The best use of time is to invest it in doing things that will add to you and not things that has nothing to do with your purpose in life.
Your argument is not straightforward. An individual may not keep to time for certain occasions but may manage his time well. By your argument, a perpetual late comer for example, does not have life going on well for him right? That is a big false as you cannot prove it.

yinkuscious:
You can’t be effective and purposeful with time for at least 8 hours a day and still remain the same you.
The fact is, you are investing your time through anything you engage with each seconds. You can’t plant a yam and harvest cassava, never! Though they are both tuber.
What is the yardstick in which you will judge one who was purposeful with time and one who was not? The problem with Nigerians is that we just tend to judge so much. I am sure if you see someone read for say 8 hours in a day and another person watching TV for same 8 hours, you will quickly judge and say the one who read is more purposeful that the one one who watched TV or did sports but this can be proven otherwise. You need to assess the content of what is being done critically and the possible after-effect before you can say which is which. I hope you do get this?

yinkuscious:
You can effectively manage your time (life) by doing things you need to do before engaging in things you wish to do. Do the most important things first before you do any other thing.
Another warped logic. When you talk about "importance", what is the yardstick? Did you consider the time value of events? By your argument, if I get home at night and I have an assignment to turn in tomorrow(Important) and there is a match on-going(wish). I should forget about the match and do the assignment first right? When I know quite well that I can still do it after the match. You guys need to understand the "time value" of an event before stating which is to be done first.

yinkuscious:
Avoid procrastination. Always ask yourself if what you are doing justifies a proper use of time.
A well mastered procrastination method is very good. My work turn in better when I procrastinate them. I push tasks that require concentration through the night when most people are sleeping, write codes this same time and solve complex maths problems this same time. Procratination is not a problem, knowing how to procrastinate is what should be mastered. For someone like me, I work best under pressure and I am so efficient under pressure, the best way to get the best out of my work is to push them a bit further. Moreover, procrastinating things will give you enough time to re-strategise and have better ideas rather than wasting unnecessary efforts.

Please help me scrutinise this bill. I have been looking for where to reduce but for now i still dont know. wedding is slated for aug 10 and i have already done introduction. We are expecting 300 guests and it is happening in Ijebu Ode. Both the traditional and white wedding will happen the same day in the same event hall plus the reception. everything in one place.

Grand Hall Inn G.R.A Ijebu Ode (300 Capacity) 300,000
Decorations 150,000
Wedding Cake 60,000
Photography& Videography 120,000
All Bridal Wares(Wedding Gown, Makeup, Aso oke, Jewelleries, shoes etc) 150,000
All Groom Wares(Suits, Aso Oke, Shoes, Jewelleries,Cuff links) 100,000
Wedding Rings 40,000
Music/DJ 40,000
MC 40,000
Food (1000 per guest) 300,000
Drinks (200 per guest) 60,000
Invitation Cards 40,000
Souvenirs 60,000
Miscellaneous 50,000

This is 1.5m budget. I'm looking for how it can be N1m but the event planner is saying i'm not serious at all. the whole thing is just tiring. He said's this is a standard wedding budget. Anything less wont be classy at all.
The budget seems okay enough. I think you can knock off some thousands from the decortaion(say 50k). You should be able to get someone that will do that In Ijebu for say a 100k. You can also knock off about 10k from the Dj's fees. You can knock out about 30k from the food as well with a good bargain. You should be able to get a good photographer around that axis for about 80k- 100k maximum. With this, you will knock off 50k +10k +30k +10k = 100k. grin

Am still trying to figure out the reason for this post.
1. Is it for us to congratulate him or
2. For us to pity him. Which of these please
It is for a critical assessment and evaluation . So that those thinking of getting married can have an idea and do the maths. It is also for expository reasons and it is a good read. The Op does not need your accolade nor pity.

indigenous234:
Don't get me wrong OP, but I think this your marriage budget is very much padded.

You said you were cutting costs abi ? Oya, let's do small analysis .

*Your traditional marriage was on a week day- Wednesday.

*the traditional marriage was held in Ekpoma, which is a village.(with the only civilisation there being the AAU)

* since the traditional marriage was held on a week day, it therefore means that lesser number of guests will turn up.

*[quote author=indigenous234 post=77798827]Now you said you spent #200,000 for Food? The amount is over blotted to sound civil. That means it's about 2k food each for a guest assuming they were up to a hundred or 1k for 200 guests. While the normal budget for food for a (not poor/ not a multi millionaire ) wedding is 500 per guest. Now, working with this "normal budget" analogy, it means therefor that you had at least 400 guests for your traditional marriage ( on a weekday?? In Ekpoma huh OK ohh. ..!!!! Except you add a video/photo evidence of the food served and estimated number of guests, I find your food budget untrue.
What normal budget of 500 box are you referring to? What if the caterer's budget is 1k per guest? And yes!, he could have had up to 200 guests/ 200 people to be fed. All your claims do not have empirical evidence. Moreover, do you expect him to begin to scrutinise every bill he is given intoto as a man?

indigenous234:
You spent 200k for food and a further 140k for drinks in your traditional marriage but spent 300k for foods and drinks in your white wedding reception !!! That's a difference of about 17% less. Abi no be Nigeria you do the marriage??
Have you thought about the fact that some major things won't be purchased again for the main wedding and they could be used from the traditional wedding? It is very possible that the money spent on the main wedding for food is less than the traditional wedding if bulk purchases were made for the traditional wedding and it is being handled by same person / group of persons.

indigenous234:
When people over hype their marriage expenses it beats me what the end game is.
If you think this is an attempt to over hype a wedding, you need to change your mentality. 2 million naira is just an average for a regular Nigerian wedding nowadays. If you are getting married in Lagos, do you know how much event halls alone around Alausa cost? The average is 500k. Some go for 1 million naira. When my sister got married, venue and food alone gulped 1 million and we still had a back up caterer that charged about 400k...that is already 1.4 million...how about decorations? and so many other logistics? Even though the Op's wedding was not in Lagos, it is still very much possible that he spent the listed amount.

Pray and work hard, yo hear? 2 million is just an average cash for a well budgeted wedding. I wonder why you did not say the OP UNDER HYPED his marriage when he quoted prices for some ridiculously cheap expenses. You were not shocked that his shoe was a mere 2k, you were not shocked at the medical expenses and some other cheap ones like the suit for himself and best man at 36k (is this not so cheap?), a 4 step cake at 15k (when I bake simple cakes for my friends as gifts at this same amount), you did not see where he stated that his wife's wedding gown was borrowed at 35k? but you came to attack the ones you did not even have empirical evidences for simply because you felt they are on the high side. Will someone that is trying to hype or over hype things be as simple and straightforward as this? This shows that your claim is not balanced and objective. It is well!

I don't understand why you guys always taking medications for someone else's ailments. Must your arguments be insultive? If you like, burn down your family house because you love Whizzkid. I don't hate him neither will I hurt a fly for Asa. They remain icons in their own respect but insulting people because of their opinion, please grow up already young man/woman. Don't be too toxic for some common sense.
Then you should learn to be objective. You insulted the young man. Whether you like it or not, Whizkid is more talented than Asa, has more dexterity than Asa and has more versatility than Asa. Asa's soul music may appeal better to you but insulting a great talent like Whizkid is such a shame. Whizkid can sing R and B, Afropop, Afrobeats, Raggae, Dancehall and still smash all the genres while same cannot be said about ASA. Do not get me wrong, I am a fan of Bukola and I have all her tracks so this is not a case of hating on her but just saying the truth.

Having said that, let me quickly give you a simple musical lesson. You see , when it comes to music, the type of genre determines the lyrical content. Soul, R and B and the likes usually have deeper lyrical contents than the feel good "Dancehall" music and Afropop. .....and each genre of music has its own target audience.

Moreover, when it comes to music, lyrics is not the most important thing. The musical rhythm, progression , sound and beat makes more more impact than lyrics.Otherwise, poets will divert to music and be the highest selling musicians. Unfortunately, music does not work this way.Once an artiste gets rhythm, progression , sound and beat right, the songs becomes a hit, the lyrics becomes a benefit if it is good and even if you do not like the song personally, you find yourself singing such song once in a while . This is because the human brain cannot work with distorted information and once the music is well arranged irrespective of the lyrics, it sounds good. I can give you a thorough musical analysis of some of the songs you call trash and you will see that musically, they beat the so called ones you refer to as being deep.

Angelique Kidjo usually gets so many requests from people who do not even understand Yoruba. Enya could barely be heard when she sings, sometimes, she sings in different languages yet she has millions of fans who do not even understand her. Sunny Ade had a lot of white fans.During the Makossa craze, you all listed to "JOMAPE" and wined to it without understanding french. If you do not understand the language, how do you now assess the lyrical dexterity or lyrical content? I listen to Albanian music, indian music and so many other types of awesome music from different parts of the world and enjoy them so much without understanding the language. My favourite music genre is contemporary jazz and Newage. An artiste like Yanni will not even utter a word and will have sold out shows. So, what happened to lyricshuh So, you see, your argument about Lyrics does not hold water at all.

Talking about international appeal, Whizkid and Asa no be mate in that regards. Whizkid has propagated Nigeria's name way more than Asa. One song of Whizkid alone on Youtube has more views than all of Asa's songs combined. So, such fellow, deserves respect.

Whizkid's position on the list is well deserved because he is the most influential musical artistes to the new generation of artistes in Nigeria who have all diverted towards the Afropop genre of music.

4. Mode Nine: The rap game in nigeria could easily be described 'before and after Mode 9'. The 7-time Lyricist on the Roll award winner at the Headies burst onto a rap scene which was relatively unpopular and needing a next level push, as most of the rap songs aired on radio where foreign, save a little dose of Trybesmen, Ruggedman, Six foot plus and a few others, He came bearing metaphors and slinging sharp punchlines with reckless abandon, soon becoming the focal point for the rap genre in Nigeria which subsequently began to witness a surging number of skilled entrants. His formidable style of hip hop which stays rooted in the origins of flow is blessed with 7 studio albums and 5 mixtapes. Modo!
Whether you like it or not, Eedris Abdukareem and the Remedies crew stamped and gave rap music a face in Nigeria.

In celebration of the life and times of one of the most influential Nigerian musicians to grace the booth and create legendary works, DAGRIN, we look at five other Artistes from the 2000's till present whose styles and musical influence affected and are still affecting the Nigerian music space.

3. Rooftop MCs: True, they weren't the face of alternative music, neither did they wield earth shaking influence as musicians, but no other artiste or group has managed such controversial efforts at paradigm shifting, especially in the Nigerian gospel music scene, as these dudes. Their first album efforts, Shock Therapy, a 2003 rebellious mix of rap, rock and Afrocentric vibes laced with gospel undertones, that commanded attention, worry and discourse from conservatives, earned them critical acclaim and a whole lot of fans - Christian and non-christian. Their unrelenting efforts finally culminated in the 2007 Cobhams Asuquo produced Lagimo, perhaps their greatest work till date. Their ability to cater to a wide range of audience, stir up critical discussions in Nigerian christian circles and gospel music sect, and even among lovers of rap and rock music genres definitely earns them a place on the influential list.
P square as a group was far better now. If you want to tow the gospel line, aside the hit track "lagimo", Reminisce as a gospel group was even more influential than these guys you put here.
