Good day all.
Does anyone here know about how to open an upwork account smoothly for a Nigerian user.
Get in touch let's discuss
There's nothing special about opening an up work account. It's just like opening a LinkedIn account.

Just write a detailed description of your skills in your profile. Sell yourself very well to prospective employers and you might just get a job.
RomanceRe: Nairalanders, My Wife Wants To Destroy Our Marriage Ohh!!! by Nazgul: 3:46pm On Jul 25, 2024
I use to say this...a lot of Nigerian men think with their penis. Why would you go to a married woman's house to pick her up knowing fully well that it can cause problems in her marriage? What exactly does that guy want?

I'll advise you go the his office and report him to the HR or the manager? I'm sure he'll respect himself once he knows that he's job is on the line.

As for your wife, she doesn't respect you. For her to even give that guy your address to come and pick her to work shows that she cares less about you.

I'll therefore advise that you monitor her closely after you've reported the guy to his office. If she challenges you on why you did it and takes his side, threaten her with divorce. Tell her that you're tired of the marriage and you've contacted your lawyer for divorce. If she doesn't feel sober and calls your bluff, go ahead and let her go cos she has already divorced you in her heart long time ago.

Besides what's so special about a car that some ladies are willing to sacrifice their marriages just to sit at the front seat of it? Most people take public transportation to work everyday and they're not dead. Let's assume she leaves your house and move in with the guy and the car gets stolen or spoilt, what then, would she start looking for another guy with a car to replace him?
RomanceRe: In My Current Relationship, my guy and I retaliate a lot by Nazgul:
MeghaneMorgane:
I’m currently in a relationship where both my guy and I are very petty. If my guy does something I don’t like, I tell him the first time, if he does the same thing the second time, I don’t talk too much and I just give him the exact taste of the same medicine. It works every time and he adjusts immediately. Same for him when he tells me he doesn’t like something if I don’t adjust, he will give me the exact taste of my medicine. So far, it’s been working for both of us because we both adjust accordingly.
My question is that I hope this petty behaviour from my guy and I is not a toxic one?
If it is not toxic that’s good. But at what point does this behaviour become toxic?
NB: So far, this petty behaviour has been working well for the both of us.
From what I'm seeing here, you guys are more focused on your weaknesses than your strengths. If you want your relationship to work, focus more on his strengths than his weakness cos no one is perfect. He would continue to make mistakes, He would offend you, however you choose to address it would go a long way in building and strengthening whatever you have for each other. Cos retaliating in a relationship is childish.

It builds up grudge in your heart. The time you should spend forgiving and loving each other, you'll discover that you'll spend it trying to get back at each other for what one of you did to the other. Thus killing the little love and affection that's needed to build your relationship.

My advice is this you communicate with each other whenever you feel one party is in the wrong and learn to forgive and forget cos that's what love is all about. Also, learn to focus on his strengths, see the good side of him and hold on to that.

Your suggestion make sense but not in these environment, those demonic party will never present the kind of leader that will take Nigeria forward

The truth is, politicians don't take Nigerians serious at all, the only way to hold them accountable is continunous agitation & protest thats what they fear
To be honest, protest and agitations can't work in today's Nigeria. It would be tribalized before it even starts.

Most Nigerians don't care about the credibility of the candidate they vote for. As long as he's from their tribe and shares the same faith with them, they're ok.

During the build up to last Year's election, I was discussing with one APC supporter and what he said shocked me. He told me that it's the turn of the yourbas and even if Tinubu (using his words) chops money, he'll be chopping it on their behalf cos it's their turn and he (Tinubu) is their brother.

When you have a populace with such mindset, you shouldn't expect anything reasonable from them. Cos the way they reason is totally different from yours.

If you have any car that's serving you well, don't sell it. Cos getting a roadworthy replacement might be difficult considering how bad our naira has fallen against the dollar.

I don't care about Democrats or Republicans. I only used Biden's withdrawal from the race to buttress my point about Tinubu who was supposed to honorably step down cos it was obvious that he wasn't medically and psychologically fit to rule.
Foreign AffairsRe: Nancy Pelosi Endorses Kamala Harris For President by Nazgul: 7:36pm On Jul 22, 2024
How do you know a working country?

Biden was fumbling in all his debates and interviews. When it became clear to everyone that he obviously wouldn't stand a chance against Trump, his party pressurized him to pull out of the race.

Tinubu exhibited similar characteristics during the build up to 2023 elections. Yet rather than advise him to endorse someone more credible and capable and step aside, his supporters kept on cheering and making excuses for him.

Look at where we are today. All the achievements they claim to make are on paper. The reality is out there. Nigerians are suffering, insecurity is increasing daily, foreign companies are exiting in their dozens....

That's the difference between a white man and a black man.
PoliticsRe: Anyone Kicking Against Protest Is Your Enemy – Workers Tell Nigerians ( Pic ) by Nazgul: 7:32pm On Jul 22, 2024
To be honest, any protest done against this regime is DOA. Cos it would be highjacked by paid hoodlums, or dispersed by security agencies with a disturbing figure of casualties.

The only solution to this mess is to shun tribalism and collectively vote out APC come 2027.
PoliticsRe: Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lampoons Bayo Onanuga Over Protest Allegation On Peter Obi by Nazgul:
The north were preparing for a protest, yet this coward couldn't stand up to them but rather choose to blame Peter Obi. Calling such person a coward is an insult to the word. He's worse than a coward. How would Peter Obi sponsor a protest in the North? What influence does he have there that he wants to sponsor a protest over there?

Honestly, aside Igbo hate and tribalism, APC has nothing to offer Nigerians. Just ask them critical questions about the economy, they'll immediately switch to Igbo hate and Peter Obi cos that's the only thing that unites their urchins under one broom.

Bayo's principal has reduced hardworking Nigerians to beggars. Yet rather than look for solutions to the problem they caused, he's there calling out Peter Obi who has been going about visiting and encouraging families his administration plunged into poverty and death.

I've been telling people, 2027 wouldn't shock Tinubu. His billions and touts wouldn't save him, cos the way the north would disown him, even his own ministers would be shocked.
RomanceRe: Man Seeks Advice Over Girlfriend’s Habit Of Giving Out Her Number To Other Men by Nazgul:
If your supposed girlfriend still distributes her number to men, it clearly means that you're not what she's looking for. She's just using you to pass time pending when she'll find the kind of man she wants.

So my dear op, you're dating yourself. My advice is that you stop giving her that 30k monthly stipend and use it for something meaningful in your life.

The requirements of BVN is to enable them check the cash flow in your accounts and to verify the account statement you presented to them. Since a major requirements is for an applicant to have a specific amount in his account.

It has nothing to do with loans. Embassies no be loan collectors.
Wrong. Your BVN contains your bio data and activities on your account including servicing and defaulted loans (if any)

See the thread below and quit your ignorance.

https://www.nairaland.com/8126391/man-allegedly-denied-visa-owing

Once your BVN is submitted, their purpose of checking isn't to find out if you're owing any loan company. It's basically to confirm the activities on your account.

However If your BVN has been blacklisted by a loan company it would show right there during the search that you've defaulted on a loan. And they would see you as someone who cannot be trusted with cash. Thus making them deny your visa.

Embassy dey give loan abi embassies na Loan collectors?
You think say na Children you dey talk to abi? Loan company agent dey advice someone with a real Job grin
Please I don't have strength for your sheer display of ignorance.

So you're not aware that bank statements, transcripts (for student visa) and other necessary documents along with your BVN are forwarded to the embassy you're intending to seek visa from.

The embassy would then verify those documents along with your BVN to be sure that they're authentic and you're credit worthy. Are you aware that there are hundreds of thousands of people applying for that visa like you?

Let me even shock you...I applied for US visa last year around October. My interview date with the embassy is next year. Meaning I'll wait for 2 years before attending my interview. That should tell you the magnitude of people applying everyday. And they certainly wouldn't give everyone visa because they have a quota they're working with. So they scrutinize your documents by employing every means necessary to try as much as possible to reduce the number of people who would be granted visa.

Or you think you'll just walk into an embassy, drop your documents and expect them to stamp your visa without proper verification and scrutinization of those submitted documents... lol.

Poverty and hunger in Nigeria has made those embassy staffs work overtime to tighten their doors and make their requirements more stricter cos they're aware that almost every Nigerian wants to escape Tinubu's administration.

Do you know what credit Card does? You no know say every Oyinbo man wey get credit card dey owe the credit card providers the money he spent? Have you ever here say embassy hold someone for using credit card?

It's legal to borrow money and no embassy care weather you borrow money or not. Since no be the embassy u use as Collateral. From Governments,Banks, Cooperate organisations are and individuals owe different forms of loans.

It's not a crime to owe.
Owing isn't a crime.

Defaulting on the other hand gives you a bad credit score.

Embassies don't care if you're owing. But they'll turn down your application if multiple loan companies blacklist your BVN cos it would become obvious to them that you're not credit worthy.

Nothing concern embassies with weather you owe loan or not. I know people who owe several loan sharks and they all travel at will. Some of us have switch jobs and there was no time BVN was demanded by any of those employees.

It's obvious, you are one of the Agent of those loan sharks. You wanted to scare your debtors with your lies. You better go and find a better job. Instead of being a loan shark agent.
Lol... Nairaland na confirm comic relief. grin

I don't have strength to argue with you cos I know that you've never been to an embassy. As for jobs. I wasn't talking about sales boy work. I'm talking about cooperate firms.

In case you don't know. A vast majority of them verify every document you submit. From your University certificate to your NYSC credentials, to your BVN, last place you worked...some would even call your previous HR.

But I don't expect you to know this cos na factory work you de do.

Lol... just say you're not exposed to the cooperate world.

Your BVN captures your bio data. Meaning when anyone wants to run a background check on you, the first thing they request for is your BVN.

Even foreign embassies request for it during your Visa application. So stop exposing your ignorance here.

bro calm down its hardship i loaned from morethan 10loan apps and i never paid any of them
One dangerous thing about defaulting a loan is that you won't be given visa if you don't pay it back most especially if the companies who loaned you money are registered and have CBN's operational license. They'll just flag down you BVN and you're done.

Even major jobs (local and foreign) wouldn't employ you cos your BVN is the first thing they'll request for and if it's flagged down, they'll see you as not being credit worthy and reject your application.

When I started my American Visa application, the first question the agent who helped me resize my photograph asked me is if I was owing any loan company...when I told him no, he still insisted that I check the CRC website with my BVN just to be sure that I'm clean. Cos I can be denied visa.

So don't think you're playing smart by not paying back. Just find a way to settle them and avoid collecting loans. It's for your own good.

We all understand that Things are hard and people are going through their matters in one way or the other . You are not the only one who has financial needs, but it is when you persistent beg from the same set of people at all the time. You drive them away because they see you as a burden. They will avoid you or insult you if care is not taking. Instead of begging, ask if they need your help in anything or area. At least they go appreciate am. If someone give you money, and you thank them. See it that you can offer them help in something that they need. if you cannot offer them help, Do not mistake someone generosity as an act of weakness.
Bro, a lot of Nigerian youths today are extremely lazy.

They'll complain about hardship, but give them jobs to do and earn legitimate money, laziness wouldn't allow them do it. Most just want quick money that's why they'd do anything to join Yahoo or the likes.

I used to know one guy like that. Once in a while if he sees me going to buy food, he'll come around and beg me to buy for him cos he's hungry. With time I started feeling uncomfortable so I called him and asked him what he can do. Cos I told him point blank that I cannot continue to feed him. Most especially now that food is very expensive.

He told me he learnt almaco (window) fixing. I was like no wahala. I know one man in surulere who specializes in fixing almaco windows so I linked him up with the man cos he get jobs a lot from engineers to fix the windows in buildings.

Then wahala started when the man added him to the team he already had on ground. This guy would come today, he won't come tomorrow. Measurements that was taken today, he won't be available to fix the windows the following day. Even the man asked me where I picked him from cos the guy wasn't showing any sign of working. When I call him, he'll tell me he was tired... just stupid and silly excuses he kept on giving.

Later he was told to stop coming cos he wasn't serious. Ever since then, I've been ignoring him.

Should I talk about the ones who learn tailoring. Once you give them you material and money, they'll use it to play bet9ja. 2weeks later they haven't even touched your clothes.

That's the problem of most young people today. They're not patient to grow. Many would steal from you if you employ them. Honestly Nigeria's future is in jeopardy.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Should I Go For This 100k Job Or 180k Job? by Nazgul: 2:49pm On Jul 19, 2024
I'll advise you to rethink again before accepting that government job everyone here is urging you to go for.

That 100k the government job is offering you is gross pay. Meaning your net pay would be around 70k. What can you use 70k for in this Tinubu's inflation era?

You should know that any private firm offering you 180k as start-up pay is obviously a standard firm. Meaning there is room for growth, promotion and salary increment.

Also your 180k gross should be about 150-160k net. Which if you ask me is fair compared to receiving about 70k monthly.

It's up to you to make your choice.
PoliticsRe: Dangote Refinery Products Inferior; Nigeria Can't Rely On Them Alone - NMDPRA by Nazgul: 9:17am On Jul 19, 2024
ALTERNATEID:
No. They are simply saying they don’t want a monopoly. Petroleum products are so important that the country should not be at the mercy of just one person. Dangote want a monopoly and that will lead to arbitrary price increment.

With competition, he won’t be able to increase prices anyhow. That’s why Dangote is saying they should stop importing.
I agree with you on this.

Is Peter Obi your president....NO

Tinubu is the current president of Nigeria. And I'm sure you can barely afford to feed yourself once a day. Yet Peter who left office over a decade ago is your problem...you obviously need help.

And to even expose your ignorance, as at when Peter Obi left office, the standard of living of the average Anambra man then is far better than what most Nigerians are experiencing today.

To your last paragraph. I know you've never been to Anambra in your entire life, you just sit behind your broken screen android phone with 50 MB data and swallow whatever Reno tells you about him. So I'll educate you cos I was opportune to school in Anambra State.

ANSU medical School in Awka was built by Peter Obi...Go and verify.

Peter Obi initiated a scheme called ANIDS (Anambra Initiated Development Scheme) during which he renovated all the government schools in Anambra and bought them buses. The scheme also had buses plying the Lagos - Anambra route. Which I entered several times as a student then.

How many schools did Tinubu renovate in Lagos. Most secondary schools in Lagos were built by Jankande and remained uncompleted all through Tinubu's administration until Fashola gave them a new look.

So why not focus on looking for where you'll beg for food since that's what Tinubu has reduced you lots to than insulting someone who doesn't even care whether you exist or not.

Just pass laws they are trying to avoid making laws to keep us all in these mess.

You need help. You just don't know it yet.

So technically what NNPC is saying is that even if dangote refinery start refining fuel, they'll still be importing it. Thus leading to a constant increase in the price.
