jennyhumphrey: Let me start by recommending @sokotogudali's cover letter. It was very detailed and I followed the same format. The truth is I made a decision to visit UK on 1st April, I had no earlier plans prior to that date, my bank statements were a mess, so I decided to explain every single income in my account as recommended by sokotogudali . I explained every single income in my account and son's account. My travel budget was also more than two times of my monthly income but not up to three times. I included the following documents: 1. Employment letter with introduction letter 2. Letter of invite with passport page of invitee and utility bills 3. Marriage certificate 4. Letter of consent for my son ( I am travelling with my son) 5. Bank statements(savings, salary and domiciliary) 6. Utility bill of my residence. 7. Husband's passport page 8. Son's birth certificate and result from his 2nd term exam and 3rd term calendar 9. My son's statement of account indicating his dad has sent the sum for his travel ticket 10. Letter of consent and sponsor ship for my son 11. A lot of family photographs 12. My work payslip 13. My previous visas 14. A 5 paged cover letter explaining my travel itinerary, my bank statements, my other income apart from my salary.
Above all let's pray for God's favour. My warm regards to everyone making this thread lively and contributing their quota You wrote a 5- page cover letter? Make una dey have small mercy for the people whose job it is to review your application. |

Ayodelemi1: Good morning, Please I will like to ask if my Uncle that stay in USA can book a ticket for me over there or I should go through agent in here?Am going to UK as a student. Please which one is preferrable? Your Uncle can book a ticket for you. If travelling by BA or Virgin let him ensure that he books as a 3rd party unless you might not be able to fly as you will be asked to show the card used for the booking (this procedure is in place as at the last time I used the above mentioned airlines, it could have changed) P.S. I assume you are flying from Nigeria. |

Wales1111: so the conclusion now is that I should not bother to apply for UK visiting visa ? Dude you DO NOT NEED TO EXPLAIN WHY YOU SPENT 5 MONTHS! Make a regular application and submit. |

9ger: You're funny (Nchabuomo), staying 5 months on a 6 months Visa is NOT overstay but the Visa officer will wonder what he or she is doing for 5 months and might conclude that he/she took up work illegally while in UK. Do you ever wonder why they refuse some UK visa Renewals ? This is one of the reasons. See stop saying what you do not know! Overstay is when you overstay your visa duration in this case 6 months. You are creating a scenario that is not there. The ECO cannot not create scenarios from their ass without any evidence to support that. Nothing shows that the applicant worked within the said months in the UK hence that cannot be an issue. |
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Nchabuomo: 10:15am On May 10, 2022 |
9ger: You mean you stayed in UK for 5 Months on a 6 Months Visa and you're saying you didn't over stayed ? When you submitted your UK Visa application did you tell them you will be staying for 5 months ? THE POSTER DID NOT OVERSTAY! You can stay the entire duration of your 6 month visa if you want as long as you do not break the rules of your Visa class. Poster you can apply for 6 months or 2 years if you want. |

AskGod07: Thanks very much bro, you have been helpful as well on Uk thread. Please do you apply as self employed as in business owner or employee? Because you didn’t mention any of work related docs only self intro letter.
Also can I use the Morocco visa to apply for PTA at the bank? No problem, happy to be of help. I am an employee. I normally just use my payslips and that's all. In the self-introduction letter, I also mention where I work and what I do. Yes, you can use the visa to apply for PTA at the bank. |

HRprof: Illegal migrant from other country came prepared that's why they don't engage in illegal deal abroad. Most Nigerians migrants have the mindset of making it abroad once they arrive without properly informed and when the reality is done on them they have no option than to engage in illegal activities to survive and that give us bad reputation. I don't have any right to stop anybody migrating abroad but is good to educate the gulable with Japa syndrome to understand is not always greener abroad especially if not prepared. Many have died in the Mediterranean sea. This is also not true and part of the bad PR I am talking about. In most countries, I have visited as a tourist, I have been offered drugs and more recently fake covid-19 tests and none of these have been offered to me by a Nigerian. True, Nigerians have the mindset to make it abroad but isn't that the mindset of all economic migrants? Would you leave home and head for another country for economic reasons and not hope to make it? I agree with you on something though; it is important that people research about their destination country to enable them to make informed decisions. Finally, there is nothing wrong with Japa syndrome. Japa if you can, there are many white people living in Nigeria, did they not Japa from their country to here? |

Henny52: Hi guys, new to this forum and will really appreciate your advice. I have 3 sisters in the UK that got indefinite leave to remain in the UK. They want to invite one of my sisters in naija. She has visited severally in the past and also had 5years visit visa but got expired and she never renewed. Now she wants to visit the UK. My sisters in the UK will take care of her accommodation and feeding. My questions: 1. Can my husband sponsor her trip to visit her sisters? 2. What are the documents she needs to provide now, its been a while she visited. 3. After quiting her job She started her own business but hasn't generated so much of a revenue to use her bank statement. Please will need advice on how she can go about this application and come out successful. Thank you. Let one of her sisters sponsor her trip completely. |

HRprof: 85% of them are doing illegal business because of lack of skills and paper causing damage to Nigeria image abroad so relax . We are trying to control the damage This is not also true. That someone is undocumented does not mean that they are participating in illegal activity. I just think Nigeria has bad PR. There are a lot of undocumented people of Asian decent in the UK, in fact across Europe. Migration in itself is not a crime and people have the option to explore what is available to them. It's not in your place to "control the damage"- whatever that means. You can advise the person but what is unacceptable is speaking or communicating to someone in a derogatory manner especially if the person is only seeking a brighter future for themselves. P.S there's also a number of documented people engaged in illegal activity abroad. Living a life of crime is a personal decision and not a factor of documentation or no-docuemntation. |

tmodeltoluene: I have but still need me to input card information. Even after trying to input the details now saying insufficient money in the account.
Does it mean I'll be debited? Ideally, they will hold the first night charge which you get back once you cancel. There's also the no prepayment option. Are you going to France? If yes, which city? I could check booking.com and share some names with you. |
