Niveakreamy89: It’s my 1st time to try France but u have been to Germany and other countries. How do I go about this application? How do I get appointment date will it be online? Is it Lagos? Or Abuja? I stay in Lagos though. Hi, I would recommend you submit in Lagos as that is where you are now, have the necessary documents as stipulated in their website and book an appointment online. Officialkplus: How do you get the visa I'll love to visit sometimes in April I applied in Abuja. The visa processing took 10 working days I think. After applying I paid 30k abi an 35k cash as visa fee which is refundable if the visa is denied. Documents: 1. Bank Statements 2. Letter of introduction (self written) 3. Payslips 4. Filled Visa Form 5. Passport (old & new) 6. Travel Insurance 7. Accomodation details 8. Flight itinerary 9. NIN slip (I found this very weird as I didn't even initially have one but had to go get it after the people at the embassy insisted that I need to submit one) You do not need to book an appointment, they offer drop-ins (Submission Monday-Thursday 10:30-1pm) Got 6 months, multiple entry. Let me know if you have any other questions |

cutebear: Thank you. The whole story is very dodgy. It seems to me that the man and his wife want to Japa without returning. That £5k deposit to a school is another reason why the ECO will question their rush. It looks like the deposit was made in order to deceive the ECO that they will return. Nigerians have used all the scopes before I think that's not a fair thing to say, though. People have a right to vacation at any point in time regardless of other plans they might already have. People travel for tourism in January and start school in October. It is well within the applicants right to apply at any time. If they want to travel on a family vacation now, there is no need to wait until the wife starts her programme which she might end of not even starting or change her mind about. |

My personal opinion: I understand the need to post certain refusal letters - when the applicant feels the reasons are unjustified or unclear. But this culture posting your refusal letters, especially when the letter is clear about the reasons for refusal, makes no sense.
What happens is that someone here takes the time to tell you precisely what is already in the letter, and you go back and forth with the person in comments trying to explain what you could have read and perhaps comprehended. |

Dinoforyou00: Good evening everyone. For the sake of some of us that are first time travelers, please what are the possible questions to be asked at the airport (esp some of us that are young, and don’t have any relative in UK), and if you can also take your time to write the way in which we’ll answer, will be so much appreciated.
And what are the things to put in order, the necessary things to do and have. Please just share experiences. Thank you Just answer truthfully to questions asked. It could range from why are you visiting the UK to where are you staying. Some times you wouldn't be asked any questions at all. |

seunadebayo: You can't apply for a visa in a country you don't have a legal status. They will tell you to go back to the country which you have a legal status. Of course you can't apply for a Visa if you are undocumented. A visitors visa gives you a legal status:tourist. You can apply for a US visa from most countries in the world regardless if you are resident there or not. The website clearly says that. |

Gentlesoul3268: Thank you very much my chairman Nchabuomo.....I really appreciate your concerned yesterday.
I have sent an email to UKVI complaint department for wrongly denied my wife for a large fund deposit the ECO mentioned only.
Now I was told to reapply immediately to counter the refusal letter on a ground by providing the statement of account where I transferred the money into my wife bank account.
I used my personal bank statement to transferred the money to her which I used the account for miscellaneous and domestic stuff at times and running well, Although I have a salary account which showing a steading 550k monthly salary.
We will write a cover letter to address the reason Eco wrongly denied my wife and the kids, also to provide my salary account, personal account I used to transferred the money into her acct, my payslips, and my work ID card, previous bank statement indicating the salary and 1.5m sponsorship fund apart from that no any other funds.
Please is that a good ideas?

Gentlesoul3268: Hello house I applied for my wife and my 3 kids on Nov 11 , the refusal letter just drop now very funny lol, although I transferred 1.5 million to my wife account and wrote sponsorship letter and what the money meant for to support my kids and my wife.
Out of the 1.5m I support my wife with 300k and the 3 kids with 400k each.
Note: my wife personally stated that she I'll adding 400k from her money plus 300k sponsorship from me out of hr 1.5m, making 700k for her trip cost
I wrote a sponsorship letter for each of them
I even wrote inside Extral information in application form that I transferred 1.5m to my wife acct
See the below refusal letter I think you can challenge the decision though based on what is written. I'm not 100 percent sure who you can email but perhaps write to UKVI attaching the refusal letter and VAF that addresses the issues. I'm assuming there aren't other unexplained large deposits in your wife account in the period. |

Sus4: Lol! Am sure the reason he wants to know is that , maybe he's tapered with the money in the account so much. So he's scared of the fact that If they find out it might affect the decision, because it happened to me too Well, I think it's fine if the OP just "tampered" with it. As long as your account statement is clean and you still have enough to fund your trip then you shouldn't worry. Even if they decide to verify your documents you should still be fine. It's a bank account hence it's unrealistic for you not to be spending from the account until your visa is approved. |

DearWale: Please, how can I know if UKVI has contacted fidelity bank to verify my bank statement submitted. Decision has not been made on my visa yet Simple answer there's no way for you to find out. It's not standard procedure for them to contact your bank. Honestly, it isn't your business if they do or do not. As long as the documents submitted are genuine then there's nothing to worry about. |

Teslas: Good info here.
Please advise needed from anyone in the house. If there is any experience, please share.
Please does this mean you can apply to the US Embassy in London or Belfast to get an appointment date and travel to the UK around that time for the interview?
Also, does this mean you can also apply through the drop box in the UK with a Visitor Visa.
Please, do you also have an idea if you can apply for a US visa in any part of Schengen states with a Schehgen visa?
Note: The UK visa is 10 years, and Schengen is 2 years and both are still valid.
Please note: Address and every other documentations are not an issue. I honestly don't know what else you want to hear. You can apply for a US visa from any country in the world as long as you are documented. Whether you are a tourist or a resident is irrelevant. If you like travel before the appointment or be in the UK already then apply. It is not a problem. Your address does not have to be a UK based address. Without going too much into my personal circumstances while working in the US, I have flown to the UK on a tourist visa for the sole purpose of renewing my US visa and stated same to the ECO and that was fine. The only problem I had was that I made a rookie mistake and booked a one-way trip, so the ECO gave me some hassles about it. I do not think you are eligible for a dropbox as you have not applied from that country before, i.e. your fingerprints have not been captured in that country (but this is my opinion. Please check the rules). The duration of your UK visa and Schengen is irrelevant because ideally, you cannot stay longer than 6months in any country as a tourist unless you apply for an extension. |

Kingin007: Hello. Good morning house…please is 2.2m enough for proof of funds for a visit visa More than the account balance, make sure your account statement is clean. People have gotten visas with way less than 1M closing balance. Don't do money lodgement and have massive unexplained deposits to your account. |

AmeliaT: Hi everyone,
I have a question that’s a little off road. Please help! Has anyone successfully applied for a U.S. visa from the UK and sat their interview over there? I mean Nigerians with just a tourist visa. Just wondering if this is permissible and feasible for my husband who wants to renew his U.S. visa due to the long waiting times in Nigeria. The website says they can take applications from all nationals regardless of their status in the UK as long as they’re not illegals but I want to know if this has worked for anyone practically. Thanks for your advice. Yeah, you can. I don't know if they are processing regular tourist visas now though. |

Cycloe: Pictures were added, she also stated about her children and husband and she doesn’t need to leave them etc. The only thing is her account statement wasn’t used . But sincerely receives monthly income from her hubby . And also her husband didn’t write a letter . My perspective: Unless the husband is the sponsor or she is travelling with their children, he does not need to write a letter. An adult does not need the permission or consent of another adult to travel unless the said adult is dependent on the other adult to provide resources for the trip, then the letter will be more like willingness to sponsor as opposed to a consent letter. Regardless of how you look at it unless you come from wealth, an unemployed person from a developing country seeking to vacation in a developed country is a red flag! Especially if the said person does not have a decent travel history to show a certain kind of lifestyle. Another way to present her case is rather than saying she is unemployed, say that she is a full-time housewife and she receives a monthly salary from her husband. I believe being a housewife is a full-time job. State the monthly stipend/income she gets from her husband, if it is too low an alternative is for him to increase the amount, let her wait for 6-12 months and reapply, after building her account and having some savings. Add a birth certificate if the blood sister is the sponsor and is truly her sister, it doesn't cost anything to scan and show that both of them had the same parent, mother or father. |

EJIOGBENIMI: Good day everyone and thank you for the great job you're doing here.
So I received my visit visa on 3/01/2022. My visa would be valid until 03/07/2022. Here is my concern. My new plab2 test date is 21/07/2022. so, the current visa will no longer be valid. I plan to be in the UK before the end of June.
Should I apply for a new visa? (I don't even know if it's possible to apply for a new visit visa when you have an existing one) If yes, when would you advise me to do that, given the current delay and uncertainty). I'll be needing my passport on the test date. If I will be extending the visa over there, the process must be concluded and I must receive my passport before the test date. Is this possible in 2 weeks? Thank you. In my experience with visa extensions (US), you will have your passport with you throughout the process, when your extension is approved you will just get a letter and not a new sticker. I will recommend you travel and extend your visa but that's my personal opinion. |

Cycloe: My sister was denied visa today . Any advise on what’s best for her to reapply . Note : she is unemployed, but receives monthly allowance. She was truthful about her status. Let her establish that her sister is her sister and that she has a life in Nigeria. You can use birth certificates or WhatsApp communications etc. Unemployment is a red flag but it can be explained away if she can show that she has a life in Nigeria and that the stipend she receives here from family gives her some sort of financial stability. |

adexxxx: Hello House,
I believe that I am in the right place. I am currently working on stage 2 of my Global Talent Visa application and I have got a few questions that I need the house to kindly help provide answers to.
My most recent trip to the UK was in 2020 on a tourist visa, and my departure was a connecting flight.: Lagos - Amsterdam - London. Q: In my current application, I was asked if I had visited a country in the European Economic Area (EEA), which includes "The Netherlands." Do I choose "Yes" and explain that I was in transit, i.e. travelling across the country?
My most recent application was initially refused, but the decision was later OVERTURNED owing to a mistake on the part of the Visa Officer/ECO. Q: I was asked if I had ever been denied a visa in my current application. Should I choose "Yes" or "No"?
Looking forward to your awesome responses. Q1: Unless you passed through immigration, you did not visit the country. Q2: If the decision was overturned then you have not been refused a Visa before. |

Lifeisgoody: Please House, I need your help. My brother did biometrics in October, 2020 and collected his passport yesterday 6th January. The issue is, I advised him to go to ikeja when we couldn't receive any decision on his application. Now the passport is empty with no mail received till now.
Any advice on what to do? If the passport is empty and he did not get a refusal email nor did he withdraw his application, let him call UKVI and give them his GWF and it will be escalated as the decision on his application did not get to him. If the visa was granted but due to human error they did not attach the sticker to the passport, someone will reach out to him and he will be told where to bring his passport to. |
