TravelRe: UK Crackdown On Fake Foreign Students by Ndata(m): 11:31am On Jul 08, 2012
@Afrokarma
So you are saying in essence that people should not go to Britain to study and earn degrees that are better respected in Nigeria than the sham ones doled out in the billions of glorified high schools masquerading as universities in Nigeria.
So people should go and study in "market places" like China and Turkey.The post has nothing to do with vacation or tourism. I don't think you understand the word "study",so if you like;get a "market place" degree from China or Turkey and apply for jobs in Nigeria with your "market place" degree against someone with a degree from Britain and see who gets the job.
I think you are the one who had a problem understanding what the guy said.He was simply referring to the so called "bogus" students who don't have prove of admission into Uk universities and can't speak English.Its obvious that those guys are going to Uk to hustle.So,the guy was saying that China and Turkey would have been a better destination for such guys.

BusinessRe: Ghanaian Government Closes Nigerian Businesses In Accra. by Ndata(m): 4:27pm On Jul 05, 2012
What about the Chinese who came into Nigeria under the pretense of opening factories only to start importing and retailing goods?What are our government doing about it? And they use low price to drive Nigerian retailers out of business.And now some of them who have relocated to Ghana to continue their retail business are being driven out.What are they suppose to do now.Our government should look seriously into this issues.I wonder what our immigration department is doing?Most of these Chinese don't have legal document to work in Nigeria.Many don't even have valid visas.Yet they are here running our country men out of business and repatriating the proceeds from this retail business back to their country.
PoliticsRe: Enugu, The Pride Of The East. by Ndata(m): 7:33am On Jul 05, 2012
@FACE
You have not been to Ideato/Okwelle /Izuogu axis of Imo. Mbaise people do not get heard for some reason; maybe because they are into acada and not politics.They produce the highest concentration of doctors in Imo state and by extension Nigeria. You need to see the houses in their Villas. Surely you don't know of Abiriba, Item and IsuIkwuato in Abia. Even small small boys of 26 are putting up mansions in my villa, with some locked up for two years, so STFU and stop measuring dciks.
So these few villages you mentioned in Imo and Abia states have more mansions than the whole of Anambra villages?Bro wake up and travel through Anambra villages and come back and tell me what you see.A state that is adjudged to have more millionaires per square mile than any other state in Nigeria.Now if don't know it,the first thing an Anambra man does once he has made it is to erect a mansion in his village.Even if he is still a tenant whenever he may live.
Also having a large number of doctors or university professor doesn't translate to wealth in the case of Mbaise.You can ask Ekiti state people.
PoliticsRe: Enugu, The Pride Of The East. by Ndata(m): 8:30am On Jul 04, 2012
@ZUBBY77
Enugu is not just the best place in the east, Enugu is the best city in the whole of souther Nigeria. Lagos is big, sure it is but too noisy and too many people and cars.... Watch the roads in Enugu and notice few cars. Enugu is just a five minutes drive from my village.
We shouldn't forget the fact that Enugu city was the capital of Eastern region.So most of the mansion seen in these pictures are not solely owned by Enugu indigenes but individuals from all parts of Igboland.
On the other hand Anambra state is the only state in Igbo land with highest concentration of mansions in the villages.I used to wonder why most Anambra people will spend as much as 15 million naira to build a mansion in their villages which they stay in only during Christmas festivities.You will hardly see mud houses in Anambra villages.

@Poster is your fiancee from the same state as you?If yes there is every tendency they can come down but "woe be tie yo"u if your fiancee is from Anambra state.They will double the price and nothing will make them come down.Don't ask me why.Because the answer is very obvious.
FamilyRe: Bride Price Wahala! by Ndata(m): 5:09pm On Jul 01, 2012
are igbo truely like dat? what is the rationale behind dat kind of action? well my dear it is rather sad cos ur parents wants the highest bidder which may not be in ur interest. i cant believe this! d best tin u can do is to plead wit ur parents for their undstanding let dem reduce d price!
The decision is not entirely up to the girl's parents to make concerning the matter.She clearly stated its their tradition.Which means the pleading must be to the entire kinsmen.Which i doubt they will heed to because the girl's father must have benefited from others when it was their turn.They will ask him "Now it's your daughters turn you don't want them to benefit abi?"
TravelRe: Do I Need A Visa To Travel To Nigeria From Ghana By Car? by Ndata(m): 6:00am On Jun 28, 2012
You can as well start you recording business in Ghana.Since your government deem it fit close Nigerian businesses in Ghana and deport them unless they cough out $200,000.00.My advice is based on the inkling that Nigeria Government will retaliate.

A CROWD of expatriates protested on a Guangzhou street for two hours yesterday, one day after a foreigner died in police custody in the provincial capital, local police said.

The unidentified foreigner had taken a ride on an electric bike and then quarreled with its driver over the fare, on Guangyuan Road West in Yuexiu District at about 1 p.m. Monday. The dispute escalated into a physical fight and the two were taken into police custody for investigation.

The expatriate fell unconscious at about 5 p.m. and was pronounced dead after emergency treatment failed, Guangzhou police said in a statement yesterday.

Yesterday’s protesters gathered near the Kuangquan Police Station on Guangyuan Road West and blocked traffic from 3 to 5 p.m. before police could persuade them to leave.

Police have called on all foreigners in the country to obey Chinese law, not to harm public interest or disturb the social order.

The cause of the death is under investigation.

According to the official Sina Weibo of the Southern Metropolis Daily, the deceased and most of the protesters were Africans.

It was not the first time for Africans in Guangzhou to stage a protest.

In July 2009, more than 100 Africans protested outside a Guangzhou police station after one of their compatriots died from jumping out of a building to escape police who were making checks of African passports, according to a Xinhua News Agency report.

The protesters took the dead body of the man, who they said was trying to evade local police because his visa was overstayed, to the door of the Kuangquan Police Station to demand justice.

The Kuangquan area, near the Guangzhou Railway Station, is one of the major communities where hundreds of thousands of African people holding permanent-stay permits are living and doing business.(Mu Zi)

Nigerian arrested for carrying $20,000 heroin

by Agency Reporter

A Nigerian, Afolake Awoyemi, who said she was three months pregnant 'delivered' at Kennedy Airport, a stash of heroin worth $20,000, authorities said.

The Daily News on Sunday, said Awoyemi attracted the attention of a US Customs and Border Protection inspector as soon as she waddled off Air France flight No. 6 from Paris last Wednesday.

The 42-year-old, who was wearing a “loose-fitting dress” was asked whether she was pregnant, and the woman replied that she was three months along, Homeland Security special agent John Moloney stated in a complaint filed in Brooklyn Federal Court.

The customs inspector noted that Awoyemi appeared nervous, so she was selected for a pat-down search. After feeling a “bulge” in Awoyemi's groin area, the situation escalated to a partial strip-search, according to the complaint.

When she dropped her drawers, Awoyemi's scheme fell apart. Pellets containing brown powder began dropping from her groin area - and the substance tested positive for heroin.

Awoyemi was taken to a medical facility at the airport, where the federal cops administered a pregnancy test that came back negative.

An X-ray showed more pellets in her intestinal tract, and by the end of the day she had passed about 25 pellets of heroin in a special commode that Customs officials have dubbed the “Drug Loo.” The high-tech toilet sanitises the incriminating evidence.

A Homeland Security spokesman said on Friday that Awoyemi was still hospitalised. She was expected to be brought before a federal magistrate on Monday (today).
