One of my ambitions in life is to study up to the doctorate degree level. Though it's actually superfluous considering that I have worked as an IT network and security expert in the banking industry for 13 years. I really do not see my self going into academics as I consider myself as a professional now.

However, for the sake of acquiring a phD, I have chosen to study online in a UK university. I have been offered an admission and about paying for tution. But then, isn't this going to be a waste of money? How valuable is an online degree?
