Jakumo:You may be right, but to be frank, but honestly, I'd rather be an MD in Nigerian than be a cab driver in UK. |
Zion_Queen:Expand your horizon, who knows, you could strike it in Nigeria. For me, honestly, if I am blessed with a job in Naija making over 7 million Naira, plus remuneration packages aka fringe benefits, I am heading home immediately. |
Well, I dont know if the magazine has a presence online, so I cant cull up the article. But just read the information on yoga that I researched on wikipedia. Shouldnt that be enough? |
Yoga is the rave at the gym, with some men and women, ignorantly and innocently signing up to practise yoga. One may allude to its popularity to another lifestyle to help you lose weight or balance your life. But do they actually know the origins of yoga? I read an article in a Christian Magazine that encourages believers to stay away from yoga, with reasonable explanations. Prior to the article, I was never ever a fan of it, due to its entrenchment in hinduism. Here are the facts about Yoga. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kundalini |
Archangel Michael is NOT Jesus Christ. All angels were created by Jesus Christ. JW? Please stay away from them, I wonder why they persist in denying the eternity of Jesus Christ which goes contrary to the Word of God. |

CHANGING OF THE GUARD 'Constitutional crisis' looming over Obama's birth location Alan Keyes lawsuit warns America may see 'usurper' in Oval Office -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Posted: November 14, 2008 8:40 pm Eastern By Bob Unruh © 2008 WorldNetDaily Alan Keyes The California secretary of state should refuse to allow the state's 55 Electoral College votes to be cast in the 2008 presidential election until President-elect Barack Obama verifies his eligibility to hold the office, alleges a California court petition filed on behalf of former presidential candidate Alan Keyes and others. The legal action today is just the latest is a series of challenges, some of which have gone as high as the U.S. Supreme Court, over the issue of Obama's status as a "natural-born citizen," a requirement set by the U.S. Constitution. WND senior reporter Jerome Corsi even traveled to Kenya and Hawaii prior to the election to investigate issues surrounding Obama's birth. But his research and discoveries only raised more questions. The biggest question is why Obama, if a Hawaii birth certificate exists, simply hasn't ordered it made available to settle the rumors. The governor's office in Hawaii said there is a valid certificate but rejected requests for access and left ambiguous its origin: Does the certificate on file with the Department of Health indicate a Hawaii birth or was it generated after the Obama family registered a Kenyan birth in Hawaii? Obama's half-sister, Maya Soetoro, has named two different Hawaii hospitals where Obama could have been born, while a video posted on YouTube features Obama's Kenyan grandmother Sarah claiming to have witnessed Obama's birth in Kenya. The California action was filed by Gary Kreep of the United States Justice Foundation on behalf of Alan Keyes, the presidential candidate of the American Independent Party, along with Wiley S. Drake and Markham Robinson, both California electors. "Should Senator Obama be discovered, after he takes office, to be ineligible for the Office of President of the United States of America and, thereby, his election declared void, Petitioners, as well as other Americans, will suffer irreparable harm in that (a) usurper will be sitting as the President of the United States, and none of the treaties, laws, or executive orders signed by him will be valid or legal," the action challenges. California Secretary of State Debra Bowen The petition is a request for the Superior Court of California in Sacramento County to issue a peremptory writ barring Secretary of State Debra Bowen "from both certifying to the governor the names of the California Electors, and from transmitting to each presidential Elector a Certificate of Election, until such documentary proof is produced and verified showing that Senator Obama is a 'natural born' citizen of the United States and does not hold citizenship of Indonesia, Kenya or Great Britain." It continues with a request for a writ barring California's electors from signing the Certificate of Vote until documentary proof is produced. An Obama spokesperson interviewed by WND described such lawsuits as "garbage." The popular vote Nov. 4 favored Obama over Sen. John McCain by several percentage points. But because of the distribution of the votes, Obama is projected to take the Electoral College vote, when it is held in December, by a 2-to-1 margin. Named as defendants in the action are Bowen, Obama, vice president elect Joe Biden and the long list of California party electors. Citing the constitutional requirement that a president be a "natural born" citizen, the case discusses other state and federal court cases regarding "aspects of lost or dual citizenship concerning Senator Obama. Those challenges, in and of themselves, demonstrate Petitioners' argument that reasonable doubt exists as to the eligibility of the Democratic Party’s nominee for President," the case said. Get Brad O'Leary's blockbuster book detailing the agenda for the upcoming Obama White House, "The Audacity of Deceit." "There is a reasonable and common expectation by the voters that to qualify for the ballot, the individuals running for office must meet minimum qualifications as outlined in the federal and state Constitutions and statutes, and that compliance with those minimum qualifications has been confirmed by the officials overseeing the election process," the complaint said, when in fact the only documentation currently required is a signed statement from the candidate attesting to those qualifications. "Since [the Secretary of State] has, as its core, the mission of certifying and establishing the validity of the election process, this writ seeks a Court Order barring SOS from certifying the California Electors until documentary proof that Senator Obama is a 'natural born' citizen of the United States of America is received by her," the document said. "This proof could include items such as his original birth certificate, showing the name of the hospital and the name and the signature of the doctor, all of his passports with immigration stamps, and verification from the governments where the candidate has resided, verifying that he did not, and does not, hold citizenship of these countries, and any other documents that certify an individual’s citizenship and/or qualification for office. "To this date, in this regard, SOS has not carried out that fundamental duty." The case said a simple attestation from the candidate or his party isn't sufficient. "Historically, California Secretaries of State have exercised their due diligence by reviewing necessary background documents, verifying that the candidates that were submitted by the respective political parties as eligible for the ballot were indeed eligible. In 1968, the Peace and Freedom Party submitted the name of Eldridge Cleaver as a qualified candidate for President of the United States. The then SOS, Mr. Frank Jordan, found that, according to Mr. Cleaver's birth certificate, he was only 34 years old, one year shy of the 35 years of age needed to be on the ballot as a candidate for President. Using his administrative powers, Mr. Jordan removed Mr. Cleaver from the ballot. Mr. Cleaver unsuccessfully challenged this decision to the Supreme Court of the State of California, and, later, to the Supreme Court of the United States." Similarly, in 1984, the Peace and Freedom Party candidate Larry Holmes was removed from the ballot. The "certificate of live birth" posted by the Obama campaign cannot be viewed as authoritative, the case alleges. "Hawaii Revised Statute 338-178 allows registration of birth in Hawaii for a child that was born outside of Hawaii to parents who, for a year preceding the child’s birth, claimed Hawaii as their place of residence," the document said. "The only way to know where Senator Obama was actually born is to view Senator Obama's original birth certificate from 1961 that shows the name of the hospital and the name and signature of the doctor that delivered him." The case also raises the circumstances of Obama's time during his youth in Indonesia, where he was listed as having Indonesian citizenship. Indonesia does not allow dual citizenship, raising the possibility of Obama's mother having given up his U.S. citizenship. Any subsequent U.S. citizenship then, the case claims, would be "naturalized," not "natural-born." "Based on all of the above, it is the duty of the SOS to obtain proper documentation of Senator Obama's citizenship to confirm his eligibility for the office or the President of the United States," the case said. Just this week, WND has reported on more than half a dozen other legal challenges have been filed in federal and state courts demanding Obama's decertification from ballots or seeking to halt elector meetings, claiming he has failed to prove his U.S. citizenship status. Among the states where cases are being tracked are Ohio, Connecticut, Washington, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Georgia and Hawaii, and there were reports of other cases being developed in Utah, Wyoming, Florida, New York, North Carolina, Texas, California and Virginia. www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=80931 |

*Hauwa*:Domestic violence transcends all social classes and race. Infact, there was this article in a magazine that details the horrifying abuse that high profile women go through in the hands of their husband. And unfortunately, they are embarrased to file charges because of the attendant publicity that might ensue. |
My aunt who lived in Silver Spring until her demise recently was totally against moving to PG county, amidst the affordable real estate in the area. While PG county was mentioned in a positive light in Ebony magazine a while back, that same month or thereabout, the county received negative publicity from Essence magazine with regards to domestic violence. |

Puppies save three-year-old boy lost in freezing Virginia woods BY JANE H. FURSE DAILY NEWS WRITER Monday, December 8th 2008, 1:57 PM Jaylynn Thorpe, 3, with his family. The two hero puppies who saved Jaylynn's life. Related News Articles Fat dog survives freezing to sidewalk A toddler lost in the Virginia woods was back home safe Sunday thanks to two puppies who kept him warm through a harrowing night of freezing temperatures. Jaylynn Thorpe, 3, wandered away from his baby-sitter at 4 p.m. Friday and was missing for 21 hours as hundreds of friends, family and law enforcement officials searched for him in the thick woods of Halifax County, fearing the worst. "The only thing we wanted to do was just keep searching until we found him," Halifax County Sheriff Stanley Noblin told reporters. Jaylynn's frantic family knew time was not on its side. "We didn't forget the issue that 17 degrees was almost unbearable," said his father, James Thorpe. "People all over the State of Virginia was down there looking for that child. For a while there, one time, I didn't know whether they would find him or not," said the child's grandmother and guardian, Katherine Elliot. Officials said the lost little boy and the two family puppies wandered up to a mile in the dark, even across a highway, but it wasn't until Saturday afternoon that members of the search team found him sitting by a tree, the two puppies nestled against him. The little boy didn't say anything, according to rescue team member Jerry Gentry, but instead "just opened his arms up like, 'I'm ready to go.'" "When I first saw him, he was like, 'Momma, I got cold. I slept in the woods last night. The puppies kept me warm.' He told me that , the dogs slept up against him. And I'm sure the body heat kept him warm," said his mother, Sarah Ingram. Billie Jo Roach, another member of the search party that found the boy, said the puppies refused to leave his side. As the child was placed in an ambulance to be taken to a local hospital for examination, "The puppies were watching where he went. "Where he went, they went," Roach said. As word went out that the child was alive and well, family members cheered and cried for joy. "Praise the Lord! Welcome home, Jaylynn!" yelled his aunt, Amy Zimmerman. Close to 300 people from North Carolina and Virginia joined in the search to find Jaylynn. "I love you! God bless you," Ingram told the rescue teams. "I think I just said, 'Thank you Lord' , for us to have another chance!" said the child's father. The boy spent Saturday night under observation at Halifax Regional Hospital and chowed down on a double cheeseburger, a hot dog, strawberry ice cream and French fries. Meanwhile, the furry heroes, their tails wagging, were rewarded with food. "I definitely call this a miracle," said Noblin. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/us_world/2008/12/07/2008-12-07_puppies_save_threeyearold_boy_lost_in_fr.html Ndipe's comment: Truly man's best friend as they say. Please don't laugh loud. In United States of America they invented a machine that catches thieves; they took it out to different countries for a test. · USA, in 30 minutes it caught 500 thieves,· Ghana, in 10 minutes it caught 6000 thieves,· Nigeria, in 5 minutes the machine was stolen, |
Even in the USA, there are stories of people 'playing' with the ouja board, (with devastating consequences) consulting psychics in broad daylight (no big deal in America, hey, they shamelessly advertise their services in the publishing world, but in Nigeria, nobody would dare visit a juju man openly), the big ones join freemasons. |

By JIM FITZGERALD, Associated Press Writer Jim Fitzgerald, Associated Press Writer – 18 mins agoWHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – A white social studies teacher attempted to enliven a seventh-grade discussion of slavery by binding the hands and feet of two black girls, prompting outrage from one girl's mother and the local chapter of the NAACP. After the mother complained to Haverstraw Middle School, the superintendent said he was having "conversations with our staff on how to deliver effective lessons." "If a student was upset, then it was a bad idea," said Superintendent Brian Monahan of the North Rockland School District in New York City's northern suburbs. The teacher apologized to the mother who complained and her 13-year-old daughter during a meeting Thursday that also included a representative of the local NAACP. But the mother, Christine Shand of Haverstraw, said Friday she thinks the teacher should be removed from the class. "I think the teacher should have gotten some discipline," Shand said. "I know if that was me, I would be uncomfortable going back to that class. Why should my daughter have to switch?" Monahan refused to say what, if any, measures were taken against the teacher, Eileen Bernstein, who was still working on Friday. The school district said she was not available for comment. "We encourage our teachers to deliver the curriculum in a variety of ways, to go beyond just reading the textbook," the superintendent said. "We don't want to discourage creativity. But this obviously went wrong because the student was upset." On Nov. 18, Bernstein was discussing the conditions under which African captives were taken to America in slave ships. She bound the two students' hands and feet with tape and had them crawl under a desk to simulate the experience, Monahan and Shand said. Monahan said the girls were not the only blacks in the class. Gabrielle Shand burst into tears at home, her mother said. "There are other ways to demonstrate slavery," Christine Shand said Friday. "It doesn't matter the color of the kids, it's just not right to tie them up. My daughter is still upset, still embarrassed. She didn't go to school today." Wilbur Aldridge, director of the local chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, said the history demonstration, first reported in The Journal News, "went wrong when she started to do that binding." "I don't care what color, no one should be put in the position of having their hands and feet bound," he said. Aldridge said he feared that the teacher still "didn't get it" after their meeting. He said the teacher apologized "because Gabrielle was upset, not because she admitted she did something wrong." Shand said she had not decided whether to take any further action, including filing a lawsuit. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081205/ap_on_re_us/slave_lesson |
