Mopolchi: Got mine today. Initially with stress, later easily. They gave based on LGA identification letter (Original). There are days for collection for each LGA. The ones I can remember now are: njikoka will get 2moro; ihiala, nnewi north on Friday; and Nnewi south and ekwusigo on monday. Non indigenes should relax since u can only enter the premise with LGA id. Letter and submit the form with Igwe's attestation letter. Thanks.WHICH ONE IS LGA ID AND WHERE WILL I COLLECT MINE? WHAT OF ANAOCHA LOCAL GOVERNMENT? |

The Heartland Prize is a literary prize created in 1988 by the Chicago Tribune Newspaper. According to Elizabeth Taylor, the literary editor of the Chicago Tribune, the prize is awarded yearly in two categories, fiction and non-fiction, to books that are concerned with American issues, causes and concerns. “We loved AMERICANAH. It's a powerful, resonant novel and we would be delighted to celebrate it and try to share it with a wider audience,” Taylor wrote. “I’m very pleased,” Adichie said on receiving news of the prize. “You never know what will happen when you write a novel. And for me, a Nigerian, to have written this book which is partly about America, and to receive this quintessentially American prize means that I have said something about America as seen through Nigerian eyes that Americans find interesting. I take that as a wonderful compliment. It reminds me of the ability of literature to make us become briefly alive in bodies not our own.” Past fiction winners of the Heartland Prize include Jonathan France for his novel FREEDOM and Marilyn ne Robinson for her novel GILEAD The prize will be awarded on November 3, 2013 at an audience-attended event hosted in partnership with the Chicago Humanities Festival in Chicago.

FYI...when it comes to Literature, story telling and winning awards...Ask of chimamanda adichie and her commonwealth price and her book purple hibiscus which is widely read even by your children in secondary schools.. Chika unigwe, Ibo, won the NLNG prize for literature last year. Caine prize is peanuts compared to these prizes... Amen!Na where you dey chop your Moi Moi and Beans...Akamu and pork pepper soup you go take win am? I need to see your stats in writing and by the way gear up, costa prize submission is on...You might wanna win it. Writing is no beans, so many things are been checked and finally a winner emerges. I least expected Tope to clinch the award anyway its a miracle and his miraculous story did it for him but I think Judges of this prize do consider most Nigerians in the diasporans. By the way, his story is the one of those not classified as poverty porn or what our dear chimamanda Adichie termed single story, others wrote on war, inter-ethnic clash and human rights and I don't even know where to classify tope's Miracle...And kai, abubakar's whispering trees though with its own flaws was a sure bet. |

Now since they blocked Mtn magic SIM...what one get to hear is this or that. I want someone who will clearify Issues on things so that people won't fall victim for MTN again. I called their customer care (CC) yesterday and a guy said both BBC and MTN BIS are still been worked on. Nairalanders that uses any of this on a non-BB device like PC, android, Nokia or anyother device should brief us on the Best so far between them for all we get is rumour, MTN BIS is 3GB, BBC is 350 mb and some even say fair usage. If you state the one that works for you, you state why you think its a good option for a fellow nairaland...Don't forget to drop your settings too. |
