There's one fact about Christianity that so many people don't understand. Every denomination is fulfilling a ministry in this world. There is alot of Christian cultures that the catholic church is helping to preserve. And if not for the Catholic church Christianity would have been totally americanized. And if not for this new generation churches Catholic church would have been so archaic and too ancient. My parents are not Catholics but I am a Catholic. What most Christians don't know is that the Holy Spirit still dwells both in the Catholic Church and in other good Pentecostal churches. I am not here to criticize any denomination, but I am here to tell us that we are all one body (church) and Jesus is the head. I know of a Pentecostal pastor that always browses through the Catholic archive for research all the time. It is high time we started seeing each other as one, doctrine apart. I think critically and I study the bible. I am a charismatic member of the Catholic church and I also attend Dominion City at times, I have never seen a Catholic worshipping Mary or any statue. Praying infront of an object is entirely different from praying to the object. Afterall, anything can be an object. Even in heaven we have objects--read Revelation. Even when you face the wall and pray it is still an object. Moreover, churches this days have altars. Mary is a saint because she is the only woman mention in the bible that was in the upper room with Jesus' disciples when the Holy Spirit came, that means she also preached and spoke in tongues. And we all know that our mother has alot of role to play in our life, even Jesus' first miracle was highly influenced by his mother. If it was possible for his mother to have little influence on him on earth will heaven be exceptional? I believe it is ok for we to ask the physically dead but spiritually alive to pray for the living to the Son who is our Great intercessor. At his dying moment on the cross, he (Jesus) looked down and saw his mother and John. He said "mother behold thy son and son behold thy mother." It is crystal clear that John was not Mary's biological son. But the fact is that John represented the other disciples which made up the church and Mary represented the mother of the church while Jesus is the head (father) of the church. Let us tell ourselves the truth. Even the idea and mystery of the Holy Trinity was developed in the Catholic church and inspired by the Holy Spirit which most Christian churches have adopted. Do you snore? Like I said, I am sorry and I don't mean to offend anybody! I just wanted to express myself. Thanks for the correction anyway

One of the things I hate most in my life is to lie beside someone that snores while sleeping at night. I have carried out some research and I have discovered that most of those people that snore at night barely snore when sleeping at noon or any other time of the day. So then, why is night so special for snorers? Please, I don't mean to offend anybody. The questions are: Is snoring hereditory? Can snoring be cured? And can sleeping positions at night also determine whether someone will snore or not? The fact is that I can't just imagine my beautiful wife snoring. If she snores at our first night together I might leave the room for her totally. When I was in school my room mate was an emperor and king of snorers. When he snores the entire room quakes. I used to wake up at the middle of almost every night to watch my giant friend snore. He was enjoying his night but I wasn't. Snoring distracts, disturbs and hampers my lovely nights alot. It's better for the entire musquitoes in this world to devour me than to lie beside someone that snores. Some snorings are even moderate and manageable but some are replica to 'chainsawing'. If there is any way that snorers can control the way they snore tell me please before I pour someone hot water!

Hello Nairalanders, this question is specifically for those that are in a relationship and married. I am a serving corp member and I have a girl that I will be getting married to soon. We love each other so much. I am 28 years old and she is 26. We are both christians and we believe in keeping ourselves till we get married. I have told her about my past life. I had met girls and had had lovers but I have never had sexual intercourse before and she knows. But I don't know whether it will be proper to ask her whether she had had sex before in her previous relationship in our course of discussion. Although I have never asked her such question before. So, the matured mind of nairaland, will it be proper to ask her or should I just ignore this issue and move on?

The easiest way the devil is using to deceive mankind now is to let people think that he and God do not exist. Listen to yourself. Angel Gabriel and others exist just in bible pages while your father the devil that you first heard of through the bible doesn't exist in bible also?

Just the money aspect, but definite I am going to make money sooner and get married by the end of next year. Already in a cool relationship. I truly love to be married and I always envy good homes, wishing to have mine sooner.

At times I still wonder what kind of mindset an average black man has. There is alot of 'don't' in Africa. Don't go there it's forbidden and don't go there it is sacred. The black skinned man is too religious to my liking. It is crystal clear and scientifically proven that man has not even finish using two percent of his ten percent wisdom or intellegence. God made man in His own image, and if man really knows the by-product of what he is, man should have the solutions to all his problems. God ask man to come and reason with Him, the almighty. It is simply because He knew too well what he made in man. He knew that man is a super-intellegent being. This is one of the reasons why the black skinned man is still backward because he barely and hardly believe in 'posibility.' Religion should not be our opium.

I am beginning to deslike Rochas, he is becoming too ambitious and selfish to my liking. Every of his comments are just pointing toward his presidential ambition. I am just shedding tears of joy. ;(The Civil war is finally coming to an end. That is to let everyone know that the backwardness of the Eastern Region was deliberately orchestrated by Federal Government. I love every region that makes up this country. Federal Government should please create better platforms and avenues for these regions to compete economically (healthy competion o) for the betterment of the whole. There is one universal truth about both comments (Jesus' and Hitler's). And there are three important words that catch my fancy in both quotations--Fight, Struggle and Yoke. They all signifies responsibility, duty and the price you will pay for your choice of life. Jesus says His yoke is not heavy. Whether heavy yoke or light yoke, yoke is yoke. There is a price for everything. Nobody gets anything without paying a price. Even when a gift is offered, either you have paid the price before through loyalty, humility and the help you have rendered the person or you will pay back in future through any of these processes. If you want a gift you must stretch your arms or flex your muscle to receive. You must spend or give your time, and energy to God if you want His blessings. Price is price. We must pay the price of success which is to fight our way into prosperity and fame. Life itself must present challenges such as: emotional; environmental, cultural, economical, spiritual, physical and poltical. Recognising the yoke, challenge or price is entirely different from carrying the yoke, facing the challenge and paying the price. Truly, those who does not wish to face the reality or challenge has not the right to exist. God knew that the Jew had to pass through four hundred years of slavery and several decades in the wilderness. It was an act of both natural and spiritual selections for the challenges ahead. If God had not taken them through the wilderness to meet their lesser enemies they would not have been able to face the stronger enemies. They did not get their promise land on a platter of gold or effortlessly. God had to introduce them to the murky waters of life, to fight their way through. The law of life is permanent struggle. Survival of the fittest. In your place of work, even when you are having a harmonious relationship with your superior, you are still struggling. As an entrepreneur,if you set a benchmark or not, you are still struggling. Even when you feed yourself and chew your food you are still struggling. It is an unending circle. In the book of Judges chapter 7, when Gideon was recruiting soldiers to fight, he recruited so many men into the army but God did not want them to think they had won the war by themselves. First, He says 'Anyone who is afraid should go back home.' twenty thousand men went back. Just imagine the great number of chickens! Then the Lord says 'You still have too many men, take them down to the water and I will separate them for you there. Separate everyone who laps up the water with their tongue from everyone who gets down on his knees to drink.' There were only three hundred who scooped water up in their hands and lapped it, all others got down on their knees to drink. And the Lord says 'I will rescue you and give you victory with the three hundred men who lapped up the water. Tell everyone else to go home.' The world does not need only the physically fit. You must be physically and mentally alert. Being alert means giving all your attention to what is happening. The three hundred men that did not go on their knees to drink knew what life is all about. They knew what a warring condition is all about. They knew life is a permanent struggle. The world itself is a battle field. You do not go on your knees when your enemies are at your neck, you fight back. The first law of life is survival. That is why when you kill someone in self-defence you can never be killed. God knew that these are the kind of people that break jinx, the go-getters. God told Joshua to be confident and determined three times in just chapter one of Joshua. The Yorubas, during a naming ceremony, they introduce some items to the child at the beginning of his life. Items such as: water; salt, palm oil, colanut, bittercola, honey, etc. Each item symbolises something. They know that life itself is not a bed of roses. By introducing them to the child, they pray that the child makes good use of any condition that he finds himself. They know that life itself is always in a constant flux. Be always prepared. I am not asking you to take anything that life offers you, but to challenge anything that you find displeasing for a pleasant life.

I weep for Nigeria. When the hearts and minds of the youths, the supposed learders of tomorrow are filled up with biles, hate, prejudice, jealousy, lies, envy and venom, it actually means that the country is damned. I weep because the labour of our past heroes has been in vain. The future of this country is too dark for me to see through. The weight of the animosity is a million times higher than the weight of thousands of asteroids. I pity you that waste your precious time to write inorder to promote hate. You don't have to pierce knife through your neighbour or pull the trigger inorder to kill him. Bad words are worst cause it grows like wildflower and spreads like virus that can still destroy even after this present life.

I need no seer to tell me that I'm a nice guy. My dear, it really depends on how matured you are. I have seen some hard guys that act very funny and so insecure in a relationship. Wait for a minute! Who is a nice guy? Please elucidate.

Wait a minute! Who's a freethinker? Is it someone that accepts any religion that comes his or her way, an atheist or a liberal minded fellow? Most people have decided to sit on the fence when the issue of religion or god comes up. But the fact about life is that water can not be hot and cold at thesame time: the principle of excluded middle. Most of them choose to sit on the fence to avoid the restrictions placed by laws from both sides. They have forgotten that man might be free but he always moves around with chains because he lives in societies governed by laws that have religious background. So tell yourself the truth: can you be a freethinker?
